"Natalie!" The girl's mother called out in irritation with her arms crossed over her large breasts.
"We were only gone like ten minutes." Nat replied with sass as she slowed her pace while continuing to approach her mother.
"Don't test me, young lady." The white furred bat warned as she closed the distance between herself and her only child. "I know you're excited, but you need to slow down." The two stared each other down before the adult held out some sheets of paper for her daughter, who was already the same height as her, to take. "I don't know how you expect to find your locker when you don't even have the map of the school or your locker information."
"I just wanted to look around. Besides, everyone knows that the freshman lockers are in upstairs." The teenage girl sighed while glancing with annoyance as two girls she'd never gotten along with passed by and giggled to one another.
"Richard, your mother asked me to pass this off to you so she could tend to your brother." The bat keep looking at her daughter with disapproval while handing the short young man his school credentials.
"Thank you." He spoke politely as he accepted the paperwork.
"You're very welcome. You know you could learn a thing or two from your friend about having a better attitude." She half scolded her daughter.
"He has the worst attitude ever. He's just a good liar." Natalie teased causing her mother to roll her eyes.
"Not as good as you." He tossed back as they both looked at their school schedules. "I got second lunch."
"Me too!" She squealed as she jumped ecstatically before hugging him, causing her mother to give a disapproving look that neither teen seemed to notice. "Eww!" She whined as she took a step back while they continued looking over their classes. "I have the gym teachers for homeroom."
"Haha!" He fake laughed at her. "You suck."
"Who'd you get?" She questioned as she tried to steal his papers out of his hands unsuccessfully.
"The gym teachers." He grinned.
"Awww! You suck too!" The two laughed as the girl's mother looked at them with more than a hint of confusion. It was hardly abnormal behavior for the two together, but it seemed she just couldn't get used to it. "Let's go find out lockers for real." The girl said as a suggestion but showed it was more of a demand as she grabbed the shorter male by the wrist and dragged him behind her, as usual.
"Natalie, slow down!" Her mother called out while trailing behind them. "You're nearly dragging the poor boy on the ground!"
"He likes it!" The black furred girl smirked but did slow down her pace to appease her mother and to calm her best friend's staggered breath. She didn't often forget how long her legs were compared to his while dragging him around, oh so often.
"Thanks." Richard coughed once he was finally released from his friend's grip so they could walk up the stairs.
"Sorry, I was just trying to lose the cops." She tilted her head back to motion towards her mother a few times, getting a laugh out of Richard and a disapproving glare from her mother.
"I can't even tell you how close you are to getting grounded for that smart mouth." Rouge, her mother stressed impatiently.
"Come on, mom." Natalie responded with regret in her voice as she slowed her way up the stairs so she could walk next to her mother. "I'm just trying to have fun."
"Find a way to have fun while also respecting your mother." The adult quipped without even glancing towards her offspring, showing that she'd had more than enough of her daughter's disrespect.
"She's right you know." Richard whispered in Natalies ear once they were all up the 2 flights of stairs and Rouge hand walked further ahead.
"Whose side are you on?!" Natalie whispered harshly back letting her anger towards her mother manifest towards her friend.
"Yours, you brat, but honestly, the way you talk to your mom I'd get knocked out if I talked to my mom like that." He followed up as they started to catch up to her mother who'd stopped and was scanning the lockers on the wall across from multiple classrooms.
"You just have a crush on her." The female teen now spoke loudly for everyone around them to hear, including her own mother.
Richard stopped after Natalie's latest fit. "I'm going to go find Russ." He spoke lowly, obviously embarrassed and upset, before turning around and leaving his friend alone with her mother.
"Looks like I'm not the only one that's had enough of your attitude." Rouge sighed with relief as her daughter passed her by and continued walking down the hall while not even looking for her locker anymore.
