It was in the middle of the day in Kyoto, in front of an apartment building. Kyoshiro was lying on the ground, looking up at the sky. While he was deep in thought, Yukina arrived with a coffee can in her hand.
"Are you all right?" the mechanic asked.
"You could say that... Kyoshiro said.
"Do you need help getting up?" Yukina asked.
"No, let me swim in my depression after my kids didn't put away their skateboards." Yukina looked around and saw that Kyoshiro's leg was broken and that a skateboard was not far from him. "How many times have I told them?"
"I stopped counting after the thirtieth time." Yukina answered, finishing a can.
Kyoshiro's leg snapped back into place and he stood up, "You can put the skateboard away, I've got an appointment with the provisor at the twins' school."
"Sure, and don't forget to bring some vinegar when you get back." Yukina said.
"Yeah, yeah, don't worry." Says Kyoshiro as he leaves.
Hana was in her office at Ado Clan headquarters, filling out mountains of paperwork. Tiredness was visible on her face, with huge bags under her eyes, and she compensated by drinking glasses of whiskey. Rescuing her from utter boredom, Ryuu arrived with a basket of sweets.
"Please tell me I can run away, I'm sick of filling all this stuff!" Hana begged.
Ryuu chuckled. "You'll be happy, I'm here to replace you. Dad wants you to come to school with him." He replied.
"Oh what now?!" Hana asked.
"Nothing serious, just the principal wants to see you." Ryuu said.
"I swear, if that idiot got into another fight." Hana stood up tired. "I'm warning you, I'm not coming back later. I'm going to sleep."
"That was the plan, the basket was for me." Ryuu said.
"Bastard, not even a gift for your mom." Hana laughed.
"Good luck with Yuta. Ryuu said.
"I'm going to need it." Said Hana.
In the principal's office of a middle school were three young teenagers, all wearing school uniforms that were covered in scratches and dust. The first teenager was a boy with short silver hair, shaved on the sides and back, and emerald green eyes.
The second teenager was a girl with shoulder-length silver hair and bangs that hid her sky-blue eyes.
The last teenager was a boy with red hair and two long strands that looked like antennae, and emerald green eyes.
The three teenagers were seated in the presence of the headmaster, an old man, and there was a heavy silence until a man arrived. The man was similar in stature to the teenagers, though he was wearing a police uniform, he had ash white hair and pink eyes.
"Good morning, Mr. Kasu, please sit down." Said the director.
"Call me Shoutarou, and sorry I'm late, I had to finish a report." Said the policeman. "What did you do?"
"I'd rather tell you when your partner is here." Says the manager.
"Aren't you also waiting for her father?" Shoutarou pointed at the two white-haired teenagers.
"Aren't you the twins' father?" The director received a nod of disagreement from all present.
"He is our uncle by marriage. Replied the two teenagers.
"But the color..." The director was a bit confused.
"The hair is a false clue, we don't know how he got a color similar to mine." Shoutarou replied.
"So the fact that you have the same last name?" The director asked.
"We are cousins." The three teenagers replied.
"That makes a bit more sense." Said the director.
The conversation was cut short when Hana and Kyoshiro arrived at the headmaster's office. The two siblings had a tired look on their faces.
"What did Sakura and Netto do now?" Kyoshiro asked.
"The same for Yuta." Hana said.
"We found them fighting at school." There was silence.
Hana and Kyoshiro looked each other in the eyes before saying. "Did they at least win?"
"That's not the most important thing." The director said. "They fought their way through the school and injured several of their classmates. We can't let them fight without consequences." Despite the warning, Hana and Kyoshiro's expressions remained neutral.
The two brothers turned their attention to the teenagers. "Did you win or not?" they asked.
"Hey, I'm..." "Of course we won, only an idiot could lose to weaklings like them." Sakura replied neutrally.
"And let's face it, it's not our fault." Yuta said.
"Yeah, those bastards wanted to fight other guys from another college, so it's better that it's us than a problem between colleges." Netto said.
"Do you really expect me to believe that lie?" Kyoshiro asked.
"Those bastards had insulted Yosuke." Said Sakura.
"Snitch!" Said the boys.
"Now I believe you." Said Kyoshiro.
While the Komogawa parents talked to their teenagers, the headmaster could only watch their conversation.
"Forget it, you won't get into the conversation. Shoutarou said. "It's hard enough for me to get their attention."
"Is it always like this?" He asked the director.
"Yeah, you just have to find the right stuff." Shoutarou clapped his hands, getting everyone's attention. "The principal is still here, you know."
"Oh yeah... I forgot about him." Said Hana.
"Since you're planning on suspending them anyway, why keep talking when we already know the answer?" Says Kyoshiro.
"Yes, but we can't..."
" 'We can't let their anger continue.' blah blah blah, You're not the first to say that ancestor. As long as they get good grades and fight for what they believe in, I don't care what you think." Said Hana.
"Ancestor..." Said the offended director to himself.
"I think we'd better go. Come on, let's go." Shoutarou pushed the group out of the office, leaving the director alone, still offended by what Hana had said.
At a park for children, Hana, Kyoshiro, Sakura, Netto, and Yuta had finished shopping. Unfortunately for Shoutarou, he had to get back to work. As the Komogawas sat down, they all had cans of coffee in their hands and drank them quietly.
"Say, Dad?" Sakura asked, breaking the silence.
"What?" Kyoshiro replied quickly.
"We have to write an essay about our family, explaining each member, and we need your help," she said, hoping he would be willing to help. Sakura only got a tired look from Kyoshiro and Hana. "What did I say?"
The two Komogawa brothers sighed, tired. "No, it's just that our family tree is very strange." Hana replied.
"Is it weirder than Dad regenerating everything?" Netto asked.
"Much weirder." Kyoshiro replied.
"We'll start with our mother. She's less weird than our dad." Said Hana.
"What do you mean?" Yuta asked, curious.
"Her name was Nadeshiko Komogawa. She was a Shinto priestess and an exorcist from our village." Kyoshiro replied, "Imagine me as a woman and much taller. The chick's 2M10."
"That's right, you and Mom have a similar personality." Said Hana.
"Don't remind me." Kyoshiro shivered in disgust.
"Wait, there's such a thing as ghosts, spirits, and so on..." ? "Netto asked.
"With everything that's happened to us, I wouldn't be surprised." Kyoshiro replied.
"Then there's our grandfather, Abraham "Baron" Adams-your great-grandfather. He was the head Shinto priest of the temple. He was also a veteran exorcist, and he was very tall. He towered over everyone. Not only that, but he was also European, standing at an imposing 2M20. Hana explained.
"Adams? Isn't he a Komogawa?" Yuta asked.
"No, he kept his last name. It seems like a famous name from where he is from." Hana explained.
The worst thing was his expression; he seemed to be looking right into your soul, as if he were studying you meticulously. The two Komogawa brothers felt a chill down their spines. "You have the same look as him, Sakura." Kyoshiro explained.
"Then we have our father, Sun Wukong," he continued. "Kyoshiro and I always thought he was just a Chinese explorer, but we've learned that there's a real hero with that name, and some of the stories our father told us are similar to his." Hana explained.
"So Grandpa was a monkey?" Yuta asked.
"Not really... although he did act like one for a while." Said Hana.
"What did Grandpa look like?" Sakura asked.
"He's very hairy, especially on his arms and legs, and he always wore gold bracelets on his ankle cuffs. He also had on a disgusting white and blue tracksuit." Kyoshiro replied.
"Fuck, I can't imagine him without that stupid tracksuit. It's stuck in my head." Hana added. "The worst thing is that he had the same tracksuit several times. It wasn't just one!"
"Apart from that, he has red hair like me and a beard. Why?" Kyoshiro asked.
"It's strange, considering how old you are, I didn't know if you had a picture of him." Said Sakura.
"You know... If you weren't right about not having a picture of him, I'd be upset," said Kyoshiro. Kyoshiro says. "Let's go, kids. I have to pick up some vinegar before we head back home. You should ask your mother about her side of the family."
"We only have a great-grandfather we know on her side." Netto replied.
"I often forget that she's an orphan," said Kyoshiro. Kyoshiro said. "I'll see you tonight, Hana. And don't forget the birthday present for Yukina."
"No problem. It took you too long to prepare this surprise party, and it's hilarious." Hana scoffed, which made Kyoshiro grumble.
It was in a marble hall with pillars like those of a Greek temple. In the center, there was a tree stump with a canopy on the ceiling above it that projected starry night light.
A voice said, "Is everyone there?..."
The voice came from a dark man who approached the tree stump. Behind him, a throne made of the stump's roots appeared. The man sat down on the throne. Other figures, different sizes and genders, moved around the stump.
"Yes, my King," they said. Said one of the figures.
"As you know, humanity has been getting stronger and more powerful for many years." Said the King. "They've been growing too powerful. The thunderbird and the ice dragon have already chosen two humans. If things continue this way, the turtle of movement and the fire lion will choose humans, too. That's not something we can allow.
"Yeah! We should take back what is rightfully ours! We can't let the human be our equal." Said one of the silhouettes.
"Exactly! We can't let any more mortals become as powerful as that monkey!" The King added. "This monkey is an insult to us! This monkey keeps insulting us! When he bothered Thanatos to take his name off the Book of the Dead! He even dared to plan for humans to rebel against us and stop worshipping us!"
"Yeah! We have to take care of that monkey! Lock it under a mountain! Seal its powers!" Said a silhouette.
"GREAT! We have to make this monkey's life impossible!" The King ordered.
*CRASH*
Suddenly, a man fell from the canopy, crashing into a tree stump and creating a smoke screen.
"Hi, darlings. Daddy's home!" Said the man as he came out of the smoke.
He had a simian appearance, with large ears and bright green eyes. He was wearing a blue and white tracksuit with the jacket tied around his waist, a white t-shirt that showed off his hairy forearms, and gold bracelets on his wrists and right bicep. He was also barefoot, showing off his simian claws and gold bracelets on his Ankles. The man also had a monkey tail so long that it seemed to have no end.
"So did you miss me, my darlings?" The man scoffed.
"Wukong..." The King muttered.
"Come on..." ... Wukong sat down in front of the King and gently slapped his cheek. "Chaos, don't you say hello to me,"
The second Wukong did so, several figures threatened him with different weapons, ranging from a bow to a halberd.
"How dare you do this to our King!" One of the figures said angrily.
"You dirty mortal! You're only alive because of—"
Suddenly the heads of the two figures who'd just spoken fell to the ground; Wukong had used his tail to cut off their heads.
"Is that what you told them? That you let me live?" Wukong laughed as loudly as he could. "That's a very good joke... because if I remember correctly..." Wukong used his tail to grab the figures that were still threatening him and strangled them with it. "I'm the one who let you live."
*CRAC*
In an instant, Wukong snapped the silhouettes' necks and dropped their lifeless bodies to the ground.
"I remember it well, Wukong. Said Chaos.
"My name is Sun Komogawa, not Sun Wukong. You see, while you were having fun having sex with each other like animals, I married a beautiful woman." Sun pointed to his wedding ring.
"It's not that strange for a monkey to mate with another monkey. Chaos scoffed.
"Oh, you're funny," he continued. "Very funny, but..." Suddenly, all the gods present felt a powerful chill and began to sweat deeply, with some of them falling to the ground unconscious. All of this happened because of Sun's threatening energy. "If you ever insult my wife again, I promise I'll torture you like no one's ever experienced it. And I can assure you, they're very inventive." Sun said in a calm, cold tone.
"You may be strong, Wukong-"
"KOMOGAWA!" Sun corrected.
"WUKONG, but that doesn't change the fact that we far outnumber you, and one day, we'll find your weakness." Said Chaos.
"I doubt it. All of the bullshit I have done has given me hundreds of layers of immortality. The only way to kill me would be for me to let you kill me." Sun laughed.
Sun's words made Chaos smile. "Well, let's do that."
Sun was puzzled by Chaos's reaction. "What do you mean?" Sun asked in curiosity.
"Let us kill you." Said Chaos.
"And why would I do that? It's pretty stupid, even for me." Sun replied.
"It's simple," Chaos explained. "We're going to have a tournament between gods and mortals. Ten mortals against ten gods. If we win, you'll die at our hands, and you can't do anything about it." Said Chaos.
Sun thought for a moment before responding. "What if I win?" he asked.
"We'll lose our god status and become mortals." Said Chaos.
"Well, that's interesting." Sun replied nonchalantly. "I already know who's going to participate for my part."
"And who might that be?" Chaos asked, curious.
"My family. Specifically, my three children, my wife, my father-in-law, and, if I have any, my grandchildren." Sun said.
Sun's answer made the silhouettes laugh, except for their king, who remained silent.
"Those people will fight for you?!" One of the figures laughed.
"Against us gods!" Another silhouette laughed.
"Oh, you can laugh all you want, but think about it. They are my children, who have my blood flowing in their veins, the blood of a high-ranking demon who made you submit, not to mention something incredibly awesome about demon blood." Wukong made a hammock with his tail and lay down in it.
"And what's that, macaque?" Chaos asked.
"No, that's my brother." Sun laughed at his own joke. "But that aside, the cool thing about demon blood is that it gets stronger in the presence of human blood."
After hearing this, the gods were silent. They were shocked by this new information.
"You guys are hella slow to understand." Sun said.
"Remember, monkey." Chaos caught Sun's attention. "You have to have ten fighters ready for our part of the deal."
"Oh, I didn't forget. I'll have my ten fighters ready for our deal." Sun climbed down from his hammock and approached Chaos. "If you win this tournament, you can kill me, and if I win."
"We'll resign our roles as gods." Chaos replied.
"Only those of your faction, the others I like." Sun said.
Sun climbed down from the stump and walked towards the exit, the gods stepping aside to let him pass.
"Wait..." Chaos ordered, getting Sun's attention. "Your offspring may have some of your blood, but your wife and father-in-law are normal humans."
Chaos's words made Sun laugh. "Normal?! Them?! That's impossible!" Sun recovered his composure before saying. "They're top-level exorcists. They killed Enma." Before closing the door, Sun let out a chilling laugh.
The gods were silent. Chaos stood behind his throne. "That dirty monkey..." The king of the gods grabbed the throne and threw it across the room, hitting some of the gods.
"HE FOUND ENMA'S KILLERS!"
Outside the mountain-top temple, Sun relaxed completely. He was no longer stressed out from his "interview" with his enemies.
"I had to use Nadeshiko's personality for this," he thought. "I hate killing for no reason, but hey, they went looking for it." Sun started to climb down the mountain. "I've got to find Dan, Kyoshiro, and Hana. I know Kyoshiro and Hana are in Kyoto, but Dan, I'll have to look harder." Sun took out a cigar and lit it up. "Abraham is still in the village, but I have no idea where Nadeshiko is." The monkey took a puff on his cigar before spitting out the smoke. "I hope my kids had kids of their own. I don't want to ask my brothers for help." With a long, deep breath, he finished the cigar. "And I've got to stop talking to myself."
Sun continued down the mountain, another cigar in his mouth, as the sun rose behind him.
