A/N: Chapter includes Xenophobia, panic attacks, bullying, fighting, blood, swearing, seizing and homophobia.
Chapter Summary: The kids have a first day back to school after fall break; Astra and Mia didn't want to go back to school —— William gets in trouble with some boys, Evelyn and Mia also get into the same trouble —— Tommy makes a new friend —— Astra has an episode —— and Kara goes into protective.
Kara slept peacefully then a loud alarm woke her up out of her sleep in fact multiple alarms woke her up out of her sleep. "Fuck...!" she groaned forgetting that today was the first day back to school after fall brake.
Everything was so loud, William's alarm was quickly shut off and he started preparing for school, Evelyn doing the same but Oliver and Mia's alarms were still going off and neither seemed to move.
The bedroom door opened and Astra slowly made her into the bedroom tapping Oliver's phone before climbing over the sleeping man snuggling up to Kara.
"Everything's so loud momma," Astra said in a sleepy tone.
"I know baby," Kara couldn't help but smile. She and Astra could hear everything even though they both were wearing red sun jewelry. "You have to go back to school today." Astra whined burying her head into Kara's neck, "I feel the same way," Kara chuckled.
Mia came in next dumping herself on to the bed lying her head on Kara's legs and her legs onto Oliver's body. "I don't wanna go back to school."
Kara looked down at Mia with a small smile. "But you have to," Kara reminded the teen.
"High school sucks," Mia groaned.
Kara simply hummed. "I'll make you both a deal if you both go to school I'll take you all out for ice cream after school."
"Ice cream?" Astra picked up her head.
Kara nodded, Astra quickly climbed out of bed running out of the room to get dressed but Mia still laid in the bed. "I'm guessing you don't want ice cream?" Kara raised an eyebrow.
"Nope," Mia shook her head with her eyes closed.
"Then what do you want?"
"To stay home," Mia turned her head towards Kara, opening her eyes with a pout. "Please."
"Oh that doesn't work on me," Kara chuckled. "I basically invented that look."
Mia groaned getting out of bed and leaving the room and now Kara turned to her side facing her husband, she could see he was obviously fake sleeping.
"Ollie," Kara shook him gently. "Oliver Jonas Queen." Oliver rolled over purposely putting his face into Kara's chest, "That's not even my neck!" Kara laughed. "Oliver, you have to get up! We have to get up!"
"I don't wanna," Oliver mumbled.
"But you have to," Kara pushed his head gently off of her. "I have to get the little ones ready and get them to school then go to CatCo and you have to go to work."
"No!" Oliver groaned. "Being a CEO is so tiring."
"You know you are able to call into work?" Kara raised an eyebrow. "Who's gonna question their boss?"
Oliver lifted his head up, "That's a lovely idea," he smiled seeing her climbing out of the bed.
"I'm glad you think so," Kara kissed him on the cheek.
"I'm ready!" Astra came back into the room, she had on a white shirt with a smiling sun on it and a pink skirt that matched the shirt. "Evelyn picked it out!"
"You look amazing princess," Oliver smiled at his daughter sitting up in the bed.
Tommy came running in next, he had on a shirt that said 'Big Brothers my favorite sibling' "Willy dressed me!" He smiled happily.
"We see that buddy," Kara laughed, picking her son up. "Are you both ready for school?"
Both nodded. Astra just wanted the ice cream Kara had promised to get her after school. "Go tell Oliver bye while I get ready."
William had driven Mia, Evelyn, Zoe, and himself to school after. "We're here," he announced, shutting off the car.
The four stepped out of the car, William and Zoe headed towards the main building where the seniors would be while Evelyn and Mia walked towards the building where sophomores and juniors would be.
None of them knew what would be happening later that day.
Astra ran towards her friends once Kara had gotten her and Tommy out of the car. Auggie had moved over fall break and it had of course made the young girl sad but she had more friends.
"Astra!" Kara called out lightly, walking over to her daughter holding Tommy's hand. "You can't run off like that."
"Sorry," Astra frowned.
"It's okay," Kara sighed. "Let's go, I have to get you both to class."
"I can take Astra," a parent of one of Astra's friends stepped up. "Our girls are in the same class right?" he smiled.
"Thank you," Kara smiled. He nodded and Kara went to take Tommy to his class.
William walked the halls of the senior building, he reached his locker reaching for his technology book for his next class when two guys walked by, they stopped at the sight of William.
"Hey pretty boy," one called out, catching his attention. William turned around and there was Tony and Jason with wide smirks on their faces.
The two had been a constant pain in William's ass since he, Oliver, and Mia had moved to National city when he was in middle school.
"What do you want?" William raised an eyebrow.
"You know I used to think your stepmom was a hot milf but now that she's claiming that she's that alien freak hero," Jason stepped forwards towards William. "I think she's not so hot now."
"I don't give a damn about what you think," William said, clenching his hand around his book, he shut his locker and pushed past them.
"Our parents say that your step-mom keeps getting pregnant only to fill this Earth with more disgusting scum people of her kind," Jason chuckled.
"I mean no wonder your dad married her," Tony joined. "Your family is a bunch of freaks, your dads a murder, your mom died, your stepmom is an alien, your an bisexual faggot, your youngest sister who is a bug that deserves to be squished, no wait she's not even your sister isn't she?" Tony questioned. "Then there's your other two sisters, ones also a faggot lesbian and...!"
William had dropped his book, turning around and punching Tony right in the face. "Keep my family's name out of your mouth." he growled.
Mia was just walking to lunch when her friend, Emily ran up to her breathing heavily. "Mia...!"
"What's up Em?" Mia looked at her friend with concern. "Did you run here? You never run," Emily nodded trying to catch her breath. "What's going on?"
"William...Fight...Senior building!" Emily said through breaths.
Mia jumped out at the words of William and fight, she ran down the hall towards the door that connected the Senior building to her building.
"More running yay!" Emily said sarcastically before running after her friend.
Evelyn was in theater class bored when her phone buzzed.
Zoe: Get to the senior building now!
Evelyn jumped out her seat running out the theater room, she needed no context of what Zoe needed her for
Tommy sat at the round table; they were having snack time, he was drinking his juice when a boy walked up next to him.
"Hi," the boy smiled.
"Hi," Tommy smiled back, setting his juice box down.
"I saw your mommy on TV," the boy said. "She's Su-Supergirl?" he asked and Tommy nodded a proud smile on his face. "That's cool! I'm Lenard but my friends call me Leo," he said.
"I'm Tommy," Tommy said. "Want a cookie?"
"Sure!"
By the time Mia had made it towards the hallway, the fight was on Tony and Jason had William on the ground both kicking and punching him.
"Stop!" Zoe shouted trying to pull them off of her boyfriend, Jason had pushed her into the lockers continuing to kick William.
Mia pushed her way through the crowd of seniors who were all recording and laughing, she ran tackling Jason to the ground all she could see was red after he had pushed Zoe into the lockers.
She immediately started punching the Senior, until she was suddenly tackled off of him by his sister; Abigail.
Mia had hit the ground with a grunt leaving her mouth, she blocked every hit the girl had sent her way. "Don't touch my brother you freak!" Abigail shouted before placing both hands around Mia's throat.
Evelyn pushed past the group of students, she gripped Abigail and Tony by their hair and pulled them off of her siblings at the same time making the two headbutt each other from the back of the head.
Both dropped to the ground but quickly recovered, rubbing their heads, Jason had also recovered. While William just laid on the ground groaning in pain, Mia had also recovered, she stood up rubbing her throat.
Abigail rushed towards Evelyn knocking the girl into a wall, Mia rushed towards Abigail knocking her to the floor punching the girl Tony had grabbed Mia by the hair pulling her off his sister, William saw Mia wince in pain and there it was anger officially flashed in his eyes he growled standing up ignoring the pain grabbing Tony by the arm detaching his arm from Mia's hair, he had twisted Tony's arm pushing the boy to the ground.
That's when teachers came running towards the group. "What is going on here!?" A teacher demanded.
Astra's class was doing inside recess, the class were dancing to 'Boom Chicka Boom' (the original one) when a heavy book had fallen off the bookshelf and a clutter of metal cups behind it.
Astra had stood dancing to the video when she was suddenly back in the room on the Daxamite ship, she started hyperventilating.
The sounds of metal scalpels hit the ground when the ship shook slightly then she felt a pain in her arm she let out a loud scream.
Astra's legs gave in on her and she put herself up against the teachers desk, suddenly feeling crowded.
"Astra?" The substitute looked down at the girl, "Are you alright?"
Astra closed her eyes tightly, holding her legs to her chest breathing heavily. "I want my parents!"
"Okay," the sub nodded. "How about we all go stand in the hall and give Astra some space while I call her parents?"
William, Evelyn, and Zoe sat in the office across from Tony, Jason, and Abigail. All six held ice packs up to their faces, their injuries wrapped, when Evelyn was pushed against the wall she hit her head and Zoe was sitting in the nurse's office since she wasn't technically in the fight.
They all glared at each other when Jason, Abigail, and Tony's parents came rushing in; they seemed rich with worried expressions on their faces.
"What the hell happened!?" Mr. Gilbert demanded, that's when the principal stepped out of his office with a stern expression on his face.
"Mr and Mrs Gilbert," he said. "Thank you for coming, we're just waiting for Mr and Mrs Queen to join us."
Kara was midway to the high school when her phone rang, she looked at it seeing it was Oliver calling. "Hey Oliver," she answered.
"Hey," Oliver's voice sounded tense. "Where are you?"
"I got a call from the high school something happened with the twins," Kara told him, she could hear car horns from his side of the phone. "Are you driving?"
"Yes, Astra had a panic attack in class today."
"Oh Rao," Kara whispered. "I'm pulling up to the school now, call me after you get Astra?"
"Yeah."
Kara ended the call before shutting off her car and stepping out, being pregnant and rushing towards the school with a bunch of steps was not for the weak.
Kara reached the office, her eyes widened at the sight of her kids badly injured and anger flooded through her. William was blooded covered in bandages, Evelyn held an ice pack to her head, and Mia just held her neck and bandages wrapped around her arm and knuckles.
Kara didn't look at the other kids, "What the hell happened?" She asked, she ran a hand over William's face he had flinched. Her hand then moved to Mia's chin lifting it up to get a better look at Mia's neck, she then moved on to Evelyn, carefully moving the girl's head in case of any injury.
Mia began to force out tears. "You bitch! You don't get to cry!" Abigail jumped towards Mia but Kara blocked her making Abigail fall back into the chair.
"Mrs Queen," the principal came out of his office. "You're here."
Kara nodded, putting on a tight smile suppressing her anger just enough. "Yes, there was traffic," she said. "I would like to know why my kids are here instead of at the hospital."
"There was a fight," the principal said, opening his door fully revealing Mr and Mrs Gilbert sitting there impatiently. "We can speak here."
Kara nodded walking into the office, the Principal shut the door. "Will your husband be joining us?"
Kara shook her head rubbing her stomach and Mrs Gilbert let out a scoff. "His children just assaulted our children and he can't even be here."
"Assaulted?" Kara raised an eyebrow. "My children looked more beaten up than yours for starters!" She exclaimed. "And secondly my husband is busy getting our daughter from school so stay in your lane with your comments."
"They aren't your children you scum," Mr Gilbert snarked.
"What did you just call me!?" Kara snapped.
"Ladies! Gentlemen!" Principal Lewis raised his voice. "Please sit and calm down," he said motioning to the chair in front of Kara.
Kara sat down. "What is this about?"
"There as you know was a fight in the Senior building, involving your kids," Principal Lewis had said. "We've taken stories from both sides and looked over the video footage."
"Her children started it, didn't they?" Mrs Gilberts questioned. "No wonders being raised in a home with a killer and an alien."
"No," The principal shook his head, cutting off whatever Kara was about to say. "According to Mister Clayton, he was minding his business when Jason and Tony approached him saying some disturbing things about Mrs Queen and when he tried to walk away your sons continued to call him and Miss Queen homophobic slur words then insulting his little sister."
Kara's eyes widened, she was now unable to hide her anger. "Our sons would never!"
"We have video footage," Lewis said, pulling up the cameras that were in the hallway where the fight took place. "There you see Mister Clayton at his lockers when both boys approached him then you see him start to walk away until Jason then Tony says something then William punches Tony."
"So William physically started the fight?" Mr Gilbert questioned.
"Yes —"
"Your sons verbally pushed him to do so," Kara said, interrupting Principal Lewis.
"One should know how to control their anger," Mrs Gilbert said.
"People, please watch the rest of the film," Principal Lewis said unpausing the footage. "There you could see William getting a few punches until Jason and Tony gain the upper hand then —"
The office door burst open. "Mom!" Mia said towards Kara her voice laced with worry. "It's William!"
Kara jumped out her chair rushing out the office seeing William shaking on the floor. "Oh God!" Kara kneeled down next to William.
"There's an ambulance on its way," the lady at the front desk rushed towards them.
Kara flipped William onto his side holding his head up. "I need a pillow! Get me a pillow!" She shouted.
Evelyn was quick to give her a pillow off the chair she was sitting in. "Will," Kara said, her voice breaking as she laid his head onto the pillow. "Will stay with us."
A few minutes later the paramedics arrived putting an unconscious William on a gurney. Evelyn and Mia followed the paramedics out of the office.
Kara stood and turned towards the principal and the Gilbert family. "If you or your children ever come near my kids again it's not my husband you'll have to worry about," Kara growled the pure hatred in her eyes mixing in with her tears.
"What are you gonna do huh? You don't kill," Mr Gilbert scoffed.
"Don't test me," Kara stepped closer, her eyes glowing for a split second. "If he has any type of damage besides the bruises left on his body your sons will be charged with assault."
Kara turned and walked out the office, she had gotten a text from Evelyn saying that she and Mia went in the ambulance with William meaning Kara had to follow behind them.
Oliver had gotten Astra and Tommy from school but they hadn't left the school parking lot, wanting Astra to breathe and not feel claustrophobic in the car.
"Do you feel better now princess?" Oliver asked.
"Yes," Astra nodded.
"Good," Oliver nodded. "Do you wanna tell me what happened?"
"We were dancing...something fell and I was back on that ship..." tears filled Astra's eyes again. "And I don't know."
"It's okay," Oliver pulled Astra into his arms.
"Daddy," Astra said softly and Oliver hummed in response. "Momma said if we went to school we would get ice cream. Do I still get ice cream?"
"Ice cream!" Tommy chanted a big smile on his face.
"Yes we can get ice cream."
At the hospital; Kara, Evelyn, and Mia paced the waiting room, William had been rushed to surgery immediately.
"Did you tell dad?" Mia asked Kara.
"Shit," Kara ran a hand through her hair, she had been worried about William she had forgotten to tell Oliver.
"I'll call him," Evelyn pulled out her phone and walked away.
Evelyn dialed Oliver's number; it only took one ring when Oliver answered. "Hey, I heard that something happened at school," he answered.
"William's in the hospital," Evelyn said quickly.
There was a pause. "Wh–What?" Oliver stammered.
"There was a fight and... now William is in the hospital."
"Where's Kara?"
"She's here, she forgot to call you."
"Daddy? What's wrong?" Astra's voice came from the other side of the line.
"Nothing princess," Oliver said. "I'll be there as soon as I can."
"Okay," Evelyn said, ending the phone call.
