Including this one, only ten more one-shots left before I am done with this story! Thanks for sticking with me for so long.
The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.
Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!
Hope you enjoy!
Prompt: "You're not my favorite person today."
"I'm not your favorite person on any day."
She inhaled deeply as she continued sitting with her arms crossed in a meeting that she really didn't want to be in. for the last hour or so, Jacoba had been stuck in a meeting with Church, Barney, and some other people that were apparently more contractors for the agent (she hadn't really paid attention during introductions). Nothing had really been discussed so far. Instead, it had just been one big fight after another, and she was just done with it all.
"Amazon!"
Jacoba rolled her eyes before raising her eyebrow at the CIA agent. "Yes?"
"You need to be paying attention!"
She furrowed her brow. "Paying attention to what? A pack of idiots shouting at each other?"
It was now both Barney and Church's turn to roll their eyes as the others in the room began to complain. The agent sighed before responding. "We have discussed many important things today and have a lot more planned. So, you need to pay attention."
Jacoba scoffed this time before rolling her eyes. "Church, you're not my favorite person today."
"I'm not your favorite person on any day. So, suck it up and just deal with it."
"Excuse me?" Jacoba began to move forward but was stopped by Barney's hand on her shoulder. She glared at her boss, who just kept looking over at the CIA agent.
"Church, I'm not quite sure what your goal was for this meeting, but I do have to agree with the Amazon on this. All that the lot of us," he gestured to the gathered contractors, "have done since we got here is bicker like we're all married to each other."
Jacoba took over speaking now. "And I don't know about you, but I'm fairly certain that yelling back and forth like you all were doing doesn't constitute important things. Because I couldn't understand any of it, and I have to deal with people who mumble all the time."
Before Church could retort, Barney spoke up again. "Church, I don't even know why you insisted that the Amazon and I join this meeting. Let's go, woman."
Jacoba smiled at the rest of the men gathered. "Have fun, boys." And she turned and walked out the door behind Barney. Well, not before she flipped Church off on the way out. There was a reason why he was her least favorite person, after all.
