Chap 6
Kushina
*Please, let him be safe. Let him not be there.*
He was supposed to be far away, safe in the village. He was still a child, still learning.
*Please don't be there, Naruto*.
Her thoughts were a mantra, a desperate prayer. Her mind raced back to when he was just a baby, her little ray of sunshine. She remembered holding him in her arms, whispering to him how much she loved him and how she wanted to protect him from the world's dangers. Since she and Minato had sacrificed to save him.
But the world wasn't kind, and now, here she was.
*How much had he grown? Was he happy? Was he safe?*
These thoughts plagued her, a mother's instinct raging inside her.
Heart.
"Kami, please let him be okay," she whispered, looking up at the sky as though her prayers could reach the heavens. "Please let him be safe."
static radio voice
"HEY! Where do you think you are going?Lieutenant"
"Captain Sui-Feng, please"
Kushina started, her voice trembling with urgency, but she pushed forward.
"I know it sounds impossible, but I think my son is in danger."
Sui-Feng raised an eyebrow, her lips tightening into a thin line.
"You were once a human, Kushina, just like many souls who pass away. But that part of your life is over. You are no longer tied to this world of the living."
Her voice was sharp, as though she found the entire conversation unnecessary.
Kushina clenched her fists, frustration bubbling in her chest.
"He's not just any living human, Captain. He's my son. I've always had a strong connection with him, even after I died. You know as well as I do that the bonds between family."
"Fine, but you stay back"
"You can't outrun me; I'm faster than you, Kushina."
"I'm right behind you, sis"
At the hill
Kakashi Hatake
His kunai was gripped tightly in his hand, his body tense as he waited for her next move. He had no intention of showing any weakness, even though his muscles screamed with fatigue and his mind raced with strategies. He needed to figure out her next move before it was too late.
Without warning, the girl charged forward, her speed blinding. Kakashi barely had time to raise his kunai to block as her hand slashed toward him.
*How, HOW CAN SHE?*
*She uses bare hands?*
The impact sent a shockwave through his arm, and he staggered back, the force of her attack far greater than he had anticipated. She moved with an agility that defied reason; her strikes were precise and brutal.
Kakashi countered with a swift strike of his own, aiming for her midsection, but she twisted out of the way effortlessly, her body bending in ways that a human never could.
Her hand swiped at him again, and he narrowly dodged, feeling the rush of air as her attack grazed his side.
The ground beneath him cracked from the sheer force of her blows, sending shards of rock and dirt flying.
Kakashi braced himself. The fight had already taken a toll on him. His chakra reserves were low and his body ached from the previous skirmishes. But he couldn't afford to stop. The life of Naruto depended on him, and if he didn't defeat her, how could he face himself when he abandoned his student?
He darted backward, flipping in midair to gain distance, but she was relentless. In an instant, she was on him again, her movements almost like a blur.
Kakashi barely managed to block her kicks and punches, each one aimed with deadly precision. Their fists collided, the sound of flesh and bone meeting echoing through the hill. His Sharingan allowed him to anticipate her strikes, but even with its aid, she was pushing him to the edge of his abilities.
He needs to hide now and fast. Hidden Mist Technique
"You can't fight the storm, Kakashi Hatake."
She whispered, her voice soft and melodic yet filled with malice.
Before Kakashi could react, she raised her hand, and the snow around him swirled violently, coalescing into sharp, icy senbon. With a flick of her fingers, they launched toward him.
Kakashi barely managed to leap out of the way, rolling across the frozen ground, but one of the shards grazed his arm, leaving a deep, freezing cut. He winced, feeling the cold seeping into his wound.
*She was moving too fast, her figure flickering in and out of his vision like a ghost.*
Kakashi spun, his kunai meeting her hand in a desperate block, but the force of her attack sent him skidding across the snow. He barely managed to stay on his feet, panting, his vision blurring. The cold was getting to him, and he could feel his body slowing down.
"Kakashi Hatake, I don't really hate you."
With a final surge of energy, she unleashed a wave of icy wind, blasting Kakashi with such force that he couldn't react in time. The cold slammed into him, sending him crashing to the ground, his body numb from the freezing assault.
Kakashi staggered back, clutching his chest, his breathing ragged. His Sharingan swirled as he tried to focus, but the pain was overwhelming. His vision was starting to tunnel, the edges darkening as he fought to stay conscious.
" I don't even know who you are! "
" Are you from Kiri? Zabuza ? Haku ? Relative? "
Nigeki Kessatsu
*Clang*
His body felt heavy, his limbs refusing to move as darkness began to creep into the corners of his mind. The last thing Kakashi saw before losing consciousness was...red.
