Chap 11
Naruto Uzumaki
"Haku…" Naruto whispered, his voice trembling.
She didn't turn to face him. She kept her eyes locked on her Hollow, her body tense and ready for a fight. "Stay behind me, Naruto," she said softly, though her voice was firm.
"This part of me is dangerous. I'm not sure I can stop it. But I won't let it hurt you."
He clenched his fists, frustration, and guilt welling up inside him.
*What has happened with my body it is moving on its own*
*He had caused this. He had touched the black orb despite her warning, and now she was putting herself in danger to protect him.*
Hollow Haku tilted her head, her eerie red eyes narrowing as she regarded her counterpart. "You really think you can stop me?" she asked, her voice a dark, mocking echo of the original Haku's soft tone.
Her body glowed brighter as she summoned her strength. "You may be a part of me," she said, her voice steady, "but I won't let you harm him."
Naruto's heart pounded. He couldn't let this happen.
"Oh, my poor Naruto-kun," she whispered, her tone softening, almost affectionate.
She stepped closer, her movements slow and deliberate, her eyes never leaving his. "I know you. I know every shadow, every flicker of pain you've tried to hide. I know how much it hurts to be alone, to be hated, to be cast aside."
He swallowed hard, his heart twisting as her words hit closer to home than he wanted to admit.
*Memories flashed through his mind—the lonely nights in his apartment, the cold stares from villagers, the hurtful whispers that followed him wherever he went.*
*He'd buried those feelings, and tried to replace them with determination, but they were still there, hidden deep within.*
"You see, My Naruto-kun, everyone has hatred within them. Even you. Even the ones you love. It's a part of being human, a part of survival. Do you think the world would treat you with kindness if it knew what you really are?"
"I'm not like that. I want to be strong for the people I care about. I want to be Hokage… so I can protect them."
"Protect them?" she echoed, her tone filled with dark amusement. "My Naruto-kun, you're such an innocent soul. Do you really think you can protect anyone without hate, without anger?"
Haku stepped forward
She said quietly. "He's different. He finds strength in kindness and compassion. That's what makes him unique."
"Naruto-kun doesn't need you to be strong,"
Naruto felt a knot of unease settle in his stomach. Part of him wanted to deny everything she was saying, to turn away and block her out, but another part of him—a darker, quieter part—knew there was a sliver of truth in her words.
"Hey, I'm not just gonna sit here and let you take control!" He shouted, stepping forward despite the fear gnawing at his insides. "You may look like her, but I won't let you hurt Haku!"
Though he tried to be strong, to rise above it, he couldn't deny that there was a part of him that wanted vengeance on those who had hurt him.
Hollow Haku's smile. "You? Stop me? Oh no no no ... My Naruto - kun you don't need to do anything. All will be fine! Everything will be Okay!"
Seeing the conflict in his eyes, Hollow smile grew, and she reached out, her fingers barely brushing his cheek. "There it is," she murmured.
Naruto winced at her words, but before he could respond, the real Haku shifted her stance, raising her hand to stop him. "Naruto, stay back," she said, her voice filled with urgency. "You don't have the power to fight this part of me. I'll handle it. Get out of here!"
Naruto gritted his teeth, his fists trembling at his sides. "But Haku—"
"No," Haku cut him off, her tone soft but firm. "Let me do this. I'm the only one who can stop this."
He reluctantly took a step back, his heart heavy with worry. He knew Haku was right—this wasn't something he could fight head-on.
"This is my fight too Dattebayo!"
*I can't let her handle this alone!*
Haku's hollow counterpart, with her crimson eyes gleaming malevolently, let out a low chuckle. "Do you think you can protect him?"
Hollow Haku sneered, her voice an eerie echo of Haku's soft tone, but laced with a mocking edge. "You're just a weak fragment of a soul, trying to play the hero."
She launched herself forward, her movements quick and aggressive, leaving a dark trail of energy behind her.
Hollow Haku's dark energy swirled around her like a storm. "This ends now," she whispered, her voice dripping with malice.
A loud "thud" echoed through the void as Hollow Haku's foot caught on the edge of… nothing. It was as if she had tripped over thin air, her momentum sending her tumbling forward. With a look of surprise and irritation, she sprawled out flat on the ground, her dark aura flickering uncertainly as she lay there, momentarily stunned.
And then… nothing happened.
Naruto blinked, confused. He had braced himself for some massive attack, but nothing had come.
Hollow Haku remained in place, her eyes flickering with confusion. The dark energy around her wavered, shrinking and flickering as if it were losing strength.
"What…?" Hollow Haku muttered, her voice faltering.
Naruto blinked in surprise, a laugh almost escaping him. He had been bracing himself for some intense battle between the two, but instead, Hollow Haku had… tripped.
She was… shrinking. Her form was becoming smaller, her features softening. The dark mist that had surrounded her was dissipating, replaced by something far less intimidating.
In a matter of moments, the menacing Hollow Haku had transformed into… a little girl.
Naruto's jaw dropped. Standing where the terrifying, hollow version of Haku had once been was now a small, child-like version of her.
"What… what's happening to me?" she stammered, a hint of panic in her voice as she stumbled back, clutching her hands in disbelief. Her once smooth, angular features began to soften, her jawline losing its sharpness, her cheeks rounding out.
She looked no older than six or seven, her long white hair tied up in messy pigtails, and her black crimson eyes were now wide and innocent, filled with confusion rather than malice.
"What… what is this?" Naruto stammered, his eyes wide with disbelief.
Haku, too, seemed taken aback by the sudden transformation, her body relaxing slightly as she realized the danger had passed.
The little girl version of Hollow Haku blinked up at them, her small hands clutching the hem of a now-oversized robe that barely fit her.
Once perfectly fitting her menacing form, were now comically oversized, slipping from her shoulders and threatening to engulf her. She clutched at the fabric, desperately trying to keep it from swallowing her whole, but her small hands couldn't hold onto all of it.
The tension in the air was gone, replaced by an awkward silence as both Naruto and Haku tried to process what had just happened.
