Ch. 124: NIP vs. HAJ part 5 final

When Egon entered one of the facility's crossroads, he saw a plethora of robots and people taking stock of everything that was lost or cleaning up the mess. Even though they had won, they had taken substantial damage on all counts, luckily with no loss of life on their end. Rebuilding was needed more than ever, so he'd have to shoot a call to Uraraka Construction.

Just as he was contemplating his next moves, Robbie approached him and said, "Sir, I've celebrated all the damage to the facility and the cost it will take to rebuild and improve it."

"Cost is no concern; just tell me what we've lost and what needs to be improved."

"Obviously, we've lost nearly 84% of all our robots and 100% of our outer defenses. Inside defense is down by 20,% thanks to that Bakugou child and that weirdly sexy half-demon guy. So, those will have to be replaced and reinforced. Wily is in the process of restocking the Man series to make up for the lack, while Hatsume and Cho are working on upgrading the regular robots.", Robbie explained to him before handing his pad and explaining, "Honey lemon has made an offer to remake the walls with a new type of material she calls bouncy steel. Good for defense and absorbs much more damage without breaking, but it is costly to make. Just one square sheet of this stuff at a quarter-inch thick cost 160,000 yen."

The pad showed a new design for the walls, using the new bouncy metal. It consists of two layers of reinforced concrete with a sheet of bouncy metal in the center. It would be pricy, but for now, adding this to the wall nearest the building would be fine.

Robbie took his pad back and continued to report, "All the outer defense plants have been burnt to death, but Holly Hock already has replacements for such a situation. That EMP did damage, but it is nothing that cannot be easily fixed. Three of the seven valkyries have been imposed, but we can fix them. Megaman has been damaged, but we managed to fix him up enough for him to be sent back to Doctor Light for proper repairs. The Glavanus, Kirin, and Carmilla have only minor injuries and will recover in a week or so. Every Pigrat we have is dead, and the high-end military suits are…gone.", Robbie begrudgingly admitted.

"Gone? What do you mean gone?!", Egon asked with increasing concern.

"In all the chaos, they must've been stolen. But I can confirm that they're not at the HAJ that much. "

Egon sighed with relief before saying, "Luckily, we used the fail-safe, so even if they are stolen, they are pretty useless. It would take a real genius to make them usable again." After pushing his glasses back up on his face, Egon inquired, "Is that all?"

"That's it.", Robbie confirmed.

"Good, then I'll leave the rest in your capable hands," Egon said, walking off.

Egon eventually made it to the staff break room, where all the non-combatants calmed down after such a hectic scenario. The moon dogs had gone to help with the cleanup while Josie and the Morgana triplets reorganized things after everything had been thrown into chaos. Making calls and setting things up from meetings and repair crews, and other such things.

Eri was happily playing with Pete while Log slept on a microwave. Inko was sitting on a chair and sipping some tea to soothe her worries and stomach. When the two girls saw him, Eri was the first to run up and jump into his arms. Egon hugged the girl and told her that he had kept his promise. After Eri was happily content, Egon came up to Inko, who stood up from her seat to hold his hands and embrace him warmly.

They stood there for several seconds, just holding one another in relief while Pete sat between their feet. After they both felt calm, Inko said, "I'm glad everything has finally been settled, Egon."

"Me too, Inko, me too," Egon agreed, resting his nose in her hair. He was thankful she and Eri had escaped unharmed.

Unfortunately, their tender moment was broken when Hankoyo dashed into the room, leaving a trail of papers behind him. Exclaiming, "Egon! I finally coordinated the trajectory of where the broken warp pad sent Izuku!"

Hearing this, Egon and Inko feel their hearts fill with excitement and relief as the man exclaims, "Tell me, man! Tell me!"

"Okay, first thing, they're still on earth," Hankoyo informed him, getting a strange look from the two for not simply answering the question. Then he followed up by saying, "But it's where they landed that is the problem."

"Where!? The sky, the sea, a warring nation!?", Inko listed off with ever-increasing fear.

"Close, an Island.", Hankoyo told them, still not giving a straight answer.

Egon blinked at him a few times before letting out a breath. He stated, "Is that all? We'll pop over to Pacifica, grab Torch Wick, and fly over to pick the boy up. It may have been almost four days, but I'm sure he's still alive."

"That's just the thing.", Hankoyo interjects.

"What is?", Inko and Egon ask.

"He's on Pacifica." Hankoyo finally admits, making both adults look on in shock, and he ends it by explaining, "And he landed on the Singing Dunes."

"The sing…the sing…THE SINGING DUNES!?", Egon half-yells in terror while grabbing his hair, Hankoyo looking nervous as he expected this reaction.

"Egon, what are the singing dunes!?", Inko cautiously inquired.

"A desert with some of the most dangerous creatures on the island! We have to get there fast!", Egon exclaimed in stress before yelling into the building, "Pack all essentials and gear! Get weapons and an all-terrain vehicle. Scan the island. The faster, the better! Time is wasted; we have to act before-."

But before he could finish that statement, a small and tired voice said to him, "Hey guys, I'm home."

Inko and Egon looked at the voice and saw Izuku standing in the doorway of the break room, dirty, smelly, exhausted, with clothing and body full of cuts and tears.

The adults took a few moments to process this before lunging at him and half-yelling, "IZUKU!"

Both adults held the young man in an embrace of relief, joy, and sadness as Egon buried his face in the mangled locks of green hair while Inko sobbed and kissed his dirty face.

After they calmed down enough to speak, Inko began and babbled out, "Oh, honey! I was so worried I lost you! I don't know what I would've done if I did!"

"I almost had a heart attack! Please don't ever vanish into potential oblivion again!"z Egon begged while holding him tighter.

"I'm sorry, guys. I missed you two." Izuku said while hugging them, only to realize what words Who had used and ask, "Wait. What do you mean by oblivion?"

"Izuku, don't be sorry. You didn't do anything wrong. It's not your fault. It's-.", Egon began to tell him until he sensed someone else nearby and looked over to see Bakugou standing a few feet away. His joy and relief were replaced by anger as he yelled and pointed, "It's your fault!"

When Inko heard Egon, she also saw Bakugou and instantly panicked! Grabbing him and trying to cover him in her body for protection, she kept her eyes on him. She knew what the boy had done to her son and that he was one of the reasons Izuku had vanished in the first place.

But Egon wasn't scared; he marched up to the teen and, with a red face, angrily yelled, "You! You little monster! I was angry when I heard about what you said and did to my boy back in the day. I was pissed when you pulled that stunt before the villains attacked. And now, after kindly giving you yet another chance, you once again spit in my face and do this!", he said while motioning to Izuku, getting even more furious and farther from words as he babbled out, "Why I oughta! I'm gonna! OH, I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'LL DO TO YOU."

But instead of an angry rebuttal or shouting or threats of death from the teen, he just looked at the ground with a somber expression as he said in the smallest voice, "I don't blame you."

This reaction caught Egon completely off guard, and he asked in confusion, "I'm sorry, what?"

Baksugou repressed a sigh and said, "I don't blame you. You're right; you gave me kindness, and I threw it back on your face. I've caused nothing but trouble and never felt bad for it. I know my words mean nothing to you, but please know that I'm truly sorry." He bowed his head.

Egon was stunned, Inko was stunned, and Izuku was not stunned. Seeing the normally explosive and hot-tempered boy act so regressed, calm, and cordial was blindsiding! Upon looking at him, Egon realized that the boy was also in just as rough shape as Izuku, but he looked even worse for some reason.

Egon had no idea what to say, or even how to act, so the only thing he could reasonably say without babbling was, "Who-Who are you?! " Looking to Izuku for answers, he inquired, "Izuku, who is this? This- This cannot be the same Bakugou Katsuki from three days ago, can it?"

Izuku nods and confirms, "He is 100% genuine Bakugou."

Egonglancedd back and forth between the two boys several times, racking his brain for an explanation as he asked, "Are you sure he's not a clon,r some mimic plan,t or a half-dragon?"

"I'm sure.", Izuku confirms.

Egon looked back at the teen, who no longer scowled but instead expressed regret and submissiveness as he asked, "Are you really Bakugou?"

"Yes.", Bakugoiu replied.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"Are you really, really sure?"

"For fucks sake, yes! I'm Katsuki Fucking Bakugou damnit! How many damn times I gotta fucking say it!?", Bakugou finally exploded on him after getting more and more irritated by the same question, putting on his old expression.

Such a vicious response took aback Egon, but he knew without a shadow of a doubt that it was him and said, "Yep, he's the real deal. Just to be safe, I'll run a few tests."

"It's Fine with me if it'll put your mind at ease, but what about Izuku?"

Egon wanted to argue with that, but reliance he had a point, so he agreed, "Good point. But before all that, I know you two are probably exhausted, but I think we deserve an explanation for how on earth you two survived Pacifica of all things and how Bakugou here did a full 180 in terms of his personality.", Egon inquired as Bakgou narrows his eyes at him, irritated at not being believed. Only for Egon to correct himself and say, "Okay, maybe 145."

Izuku takes a seat at one of the tables, soon joined by Inko, Bakugou, and Egon. He takes a deep breath, relaxes into the chair, and starts to explain, "Well, it all started when we were warped to Pacifica, right in the middle of the Singing Dunes."
