AN: So, I decided to make another Molly x Libby short story! This story is meant to set up a future Mollibby story that I plan to write pretty soon, so I hope you enjoy this new story!
Molly and Libby's Miracle
It was a peaceful day in the household of Molly and Libby McGee. Several months had went by since Molly and Libby moved into their new home and got married to each other. It filled Molly with joy, knowing that she would spend the rest of her life with her wife, along with her ghost friend, Scratch.
Things have been perfect for everyone until one day. The morning sun rose as Molly was making breakfast for Libby and Scratch.
"Isn't Libby usually the one who makes breakfast?" Scratch asked.
"Yes, Scratch, but I thought it would be nice to make breakfast for the two of you!" Molly explained, cooking a couple of eggs over a skillet.
"No offense, Moll, but I think I prefer Libby's cooking. I don't exactly trust you to cook our meals without burning the house down." Scratch said half jokingly.
Molly merely rolled her eyes with an amused smile. "Very funny, Scratch! Just wait until Libby comes in! I'm sure she'll tell you that my meals can be good too!"
It was at that moment when Libby entered the kitchen in a tired state. As he gazed at Libby, Scratch couldn't help but think that she didn't look so good.
Unfortunately, Molly was so excited to greet Libby, she barely noticed what was going on. Molly excitedly ran up to Libby and embraced her in a hug before giving her a kiss on the cheek.
"Good morning, my beautiful wife! I have a surprise for you! Since you have been sleeping later than usual, I decided to make breakfast for you!" Molly smiled.
Libby soon took a glance at the food before giving a weak smile. "Wow, Molly! You did this for me? I don't know what to say."
"How about, 'I'm going to sit down and eat my breakfast before Scratch gets to it first?'" Scratch said before he devoured his meal.
At that moment, Libby sat down with Molly as the two of them ate breakfast. As she gazed at Libby, Molly noticed that she wasn't eating much. She appeared to be taking only a few bites at a time before staring blankly at her food. This started to worry Molly, so she decided to get Libby's attention.
"Hey, Libby. I noticed that you barely touched your food. Did I overcook it? If so, I can always make you something else." Molly offered.
"Oh, no. It's not that. I guess I'm just not feeling very hungry." Libby admitted.
"Well, if you don't want it, I would be more than happy to take your breakfast." Scratch said.
In response, Molly turned to Scratch with a glare. "Scratch!"
"What? I had a light breakfast!" Scratch defended.
"It's okay, Molly. I guess I'm just not feeling too good. Maybe I just need to lie down and get some rest." Libby explained.
After Libby pushed her plate across the table for Scratch to eat, she stood up from the table and walked up to the bedroom. This caused Molly to worry about Libby even more as she hoped that she would get better soon.
The next day, Libby seemed to have gotten a lot better as she was now able to eat again. Well, she seemed to eat a little too much. Whenever she would finish a meal, she would make another immediately afterwards.
That wasn't even the strangest part. There have been moments when Libby would get angry with Molly and Scratch over the tiniest things before she suddenly feel remorseful and immediately apologizes.
This went on for a few days until Libby suddenly started to feel sick. Every few minutes Libby would stop what she was doing before rushing to the bathroom. As Molly waited outside the bathroom, Libby stepped through the door in relief.
"How are you feeling, Libby?" Molly asked.
"Much better!" Libby smiled before suddenly placing a hand over her mouth. "Oh no! Not again!"
With that, Libby slammed the door shut as Molly was more worried for her wife than ever. Libby had been acting strange for days and Molly didn't know what to do about it.
"Scratch, I'm scared. I've been doing everything to make Libby feel better, but she's just getting worse."
It was at this point when Scratch started to feel bad for Molly. He understood how much Libby meant to her and didn't want to lose her.
"Hey, don't worry too much about it, Molly. How about we take her to see the doctor tomorrow and everything will work out afterwards." Scratch suggested.
Molly soon gave Scratch a grateful smile. "You're right, Scratch! We just need to be positive!"
Scratch chuckled. "Now, that's the Molly I know! As soon as Libby gets out the bathroom, we should all get some rest for tomorrow."
After Libby left the bathroom, Molly let her know about the plan for tomorrow before the two of them went to bed. The next day, Molly drove her and Libby to the hospital so that they could hopefully figure out what is going on with Libby.
Throughout the doctor appointment, Libby was put through several tests. This lasted for several hours until the doctor looked through his notes.
"It appears that all of the tests have concluded and I now have the results I need." the doctor spoke up.
At that moment, Molly hugged Libby tightly as she braced herself for the worst. However, what the doctor said next was something that Molly and Libby never would have expected.
"Congratulations, Mrs. McGee! You are now pregnant!"
Hearing this left Molly and Libby in stunned silence as they tried to process what they just heard. Libby soon brought her hand up to her belly before looking back at the doctor.
"Are you saying that Molly and I are going to have a child?" Libby asked with a smile.
The doctor nodded. "Of course!"
"Oh my gosh! Libby, this is incredible!" Molly exclaimed. "We are going to be mothers!"
"I'm glad that you are both excited!"the doctor smiled. "I'll just get some more of my notes before giving you my recommendations on what you should do to handle these next several months of pregnancy."
Once the doctor left, Scratch appeared right next to Molly and Libby, appearing to be just as excited as they two of them.
"I can't believe that I'm going to be an uncle! This is the best news ever!" Scratch cried tears of joy.
Seeing Scratch's reaction surprised Molly as she had never seen him get this emotional before. "Scratch, are you crying?"
"N-No. I think it's just allergy season." Scratch lied as he wiped the tears from his eyes.
Libby gave a giggle before bringing her attention to Molly. "Molly, I can't believe we are going to be parents! I'm so excited for the day we meet our child!"
"Me too, Libby! And don't worry! I promise to watch over you throughout these next few months until we have our child!"
"Thank you, Molly! You're the best!"
After leaving the hospital, Molly and Libby decided to tell their families the good news. Even though Libby knew that she would get sick a lot throughout these next few months, she knew that it would all be worth it in the end when she and Molly would finally meet their miracle.
The End
