Tarryn's POV

"You look like you're in a bad mood," Bard told me as I sat down for breakfast.

Mey-Rin chose that moment to whisper in the chef's ear why I looked grouchy. He immediately went red and decided to go get our food. I shot the maid a grateful glance before starting my coffee.

I really missed the 21st century because there I had access to feminine hygiene products. That's right, I was on my period, and thank god there was a female in the house, or else I would have been screwed. Now I had to deal with my monthly curse with what this century had to offer.

"Glad I'm not a woman," Bard said as he placed a variety of breakfast foods on the table. He then flinched. "Sorry ladies"

"You're fine, Bard," I reassured the chef while putting food on my plate. "Don't forget we're having that bloke coming tonight to meet with the master"

"Aww damn it" Finny whined. "That means Sebastian is going to expect perfection"

"Don't say that Finn, since Tarryn started working here the three of us haven't done anything stupid"

"True, that is," Mey-Rin agreed.

"Well I can't take all of the credit, y'all have been doing a good job not messing things up"

Right on cue Sebastian walked through the dining hall and prepped Ciel's morning tea. He bid us good morning and since I didn't have my mouth full this time, I told him good morning back. Then, as fast as he came, he was out the door again with the tea cart.

"How he does that is beyond me" Bard muttered.

"Perfect he is" Mey-Rin chimed in with a blush.

And handsome too

Don't you start that crap again I reprimanded my other half.

You can deny it, but I find the demon very alluring

I tuned her out and continued eating my breakfast until I was done. Now, depending on his mood, sometimes Ciel liked me continuing Fourth Wing while he ate breakfast. And it wasn't any different this morning. Bard, Finny, and Mey-Rin weren't in the room yet.

"Now I'm eager to find out who Violet bonds with," Ciel said while drinking his tea.

"You won't have to wait long, after the Gauntlet is Presentation, it's when the new cadets get to see which dragons are up for bonding"

And so I continued where I left off last. When I came to the part where Andarna was introduced Ciel arched an eyebrow.

"Why would a young dragon such as this Feathertail be around the adult dragons?"

"She's a bit of a rebel, you could say"

"She sounds like a creature I would get along with"

Unfortunately, I had to end the story there because Bard, Finny, and Mey-Rin entered the dining room. Ciel, displeased, had a dart in his hand, and knowing what he was about to do, I quickly caught the dart before it could hit Finny.

"Alright, you lot," I addressed the chef, maid, and gardener. "We got a busy day ahead, so we can't slack off work; now shall we begin?"

Sebastian chose that moment to enter the dining room, and right away, the comedy relief trio took off to start working.

"I was actually looking for those three"

"Well butler unlike you, I'm nicer to them"

Ciel made a sound of him trying to hold back his laughter while Sebastian frowned at me.

"That wasn't necessary Tarryn"

Oh, he wanted to play, huh?

Fine, so can I.

"Maybe you could be less intimidating when it comes to barking orders"

Now, that annoyed the demon, especially since he despised dogs. As I walked past him to help Finny with the weeding, I added.

"I am simply one hell of a second in command"

Now that felt good I thought.

Weeding the courtyard went smoothly, and after I was finished with that, I assisted Mey-Rin with washing the bedding. She tried to get the tea set, but Tanaka volunteered to get it, and seeing him in butler mode was interesting. He may not be as tall as Sebastian but what the hell he was tall enough to get the tea set without difficulty.

But it was a different story with Bard, and when I saw the kitchen scorched up I did an anime fall while Finny and Mey-Rin freaked out. And to make matters worse Sebastian snuck up behind us. And he looked very annoyed too.

"Now how did exactly did this happen?"

Mey-Rin, Finny, and Tanaka all gestured at Bard who protested. Sebastian cleared his throat and the chef sighed.

"There was a lot of meat to be cooked for dinner, it was going to take a lot of time so I used, me flamethrower on it"

"YOU DON'T USE A FLAMETHROWER INSIDE!" I roared.

"Easy, Tarryn," Sebastian advised.

The butler looked at his pocket watch and was in deep thought. After some thinking he put the watch away and addressed us all.

"Everyone listen closely and do exactly as I say, understand? We must be quick about this, we might save this night yet"

The bastard then put us to work alright, and we spent the next hour and a half hauling gravel around until the entire courtyard to resemble a Japanese stone garden. My stomach chose that moment to growl loud and it wasn't human food it wanted.

I excused myself from the others and snuck back inside the manor. Thankfully, I didn't run into Sebastian as I made my way toward the Drawing Room.

"Sorry to disturb you, my lord," I greeted Ciel a few seconds later.

"I can spare a few minutes"

"I know our guest is coming shortly, but I'm afraid I won't be here when he arrives," I explained, and I felt my eyes turning reptilian-like and glowing. "I need to hunt and whenever I finish one, I fall asleep"

"I see, and you were worried Sebastian might stop you?""Sadly yes"

Ciel smirked at this.

"Go on your hunt, and we will see you when you return. Don't over-gorge yourself," the young Earl teased.

"I can't make any promises on that, Ciel," I chuckled before taking my leave.

I chose the right moment to sneak out because the guest had just arrived and that would distract Sebastian long enough until I was gone. Or so I thought.

"And where do you think you're going?"

F**king butler.

"For your information, butler, I'm going hunting," I told him firmly.

"Is that so? Or are you trying to avoid more work, my lady"

Now I was pissed and I whirled around on the demon.

"First off, do not tell me I don't work hard, Sebastian," I hissed. "I bust my ass every day, second when my dragon and I need to hunt, we f**king hunt, third I already spoke with Ciel who said I could go, and lastly demon you don't command me, only our young lord does"

With that, I turned away from him and shifted to my dragon form. I then gave him an ear-splitting roar before taking flight. Thankfully, as I flew above the grounds, it calmed me, and I focused on my hunt. I ambushed a group of stags and killed the strongest ones.

As per usual with my prey, I cooked the deer with my dragon fire, and once they were cooked to my satisfaction, I gorged on them all right. I ate until my body felt full, and sleep was beginning to take over, so I lay down in the soft grass, and sleep soon came upon me.

When I woke up, it was night, and it was time to return to the manor. I landed a good distance away from the mansion before reverting to human form.

"Hey, look's awake," Bard teased as I found him and Finny doing something with the outdoor oven. "You missed the bloke who came to visit"

"Sorry guys woman stuff"

"No worries, Tarryn," Finny reassured me.

The three of us then heard a scream or, well, more like the guest shouting, "Mama Mia!".

"Oh, hi, Sebastian!"

The damn butler wore that stupid smirk of his and had a tray of a sweet-looking dessert. I then remembered what happened with the guest and I suddenly felt sick.

"Thank you for your hard work today; as a reward, would you three like some lemon meringue pie? The sugar will give you energy"

"No thanks," I replied, and I excused myself just as Finny and Bard showed their gratitude by hugging Sebastian's legs.

Thankfully I didn't throw up but still felt nauseous. Maybe I did eat too much of that deer.

"Tarryn"

"Give me a second Sebastian"

I dealt with another wave of nausea until it passed and then I faced the butler.

"What is it?"

It was then I noticed Sebastian had some water.

"Some water might help that nausea of yours"

That was thoughtful of him

Yeah, it was, but I still eyed the demon as I took the glass and slowly drank the cool liquid.

"Tarryn I'm sorry for angering you before"

Holy shit!

Sebastian Michaelis was actually apologizing to me?!

"Today was a bit stressful and you have my word I won't make you feel like you're beneath me again"

"What about Bard, Mey-Rin, and Finny? Not gonna lie Sebastian you do frown on them a lot and they still work their asses off"

"For your sake, I will make an effort to treat them better, but I can't promise when they mess things up"

"Making mistakes is part of life, Sebastian," I reminded him. "And your demeanor earlier really upset me, I cannot control when my instinct as a dragon takes over, and when that isn't happening you know I work hard and don't complain whatsoever"

What he did next surprised me. He set the tray he was holding down and went to his knee, in the same way he did with Ciel. He then took my hand and pressed a kiss against it.

"As the Phantomhive Butler, you have my word I won't disrespect you again my lady, and I am truly sorry for upsetting you"

And he meant it too. My dragon wolf whistled and I did my best not to blush.

"Thank you" was all I could say.

Sebastian stood back up and he gave me that usual smile of his.

"Oh shit, what's so funny?"

"I won't lie, my lady, it is rather amusing when your temper flares"

But instead of getting mad, I chuckled.

"Remember butler I am Scottish but raised in America"

"And Scottish ladies have a tendency to be temperamental which also suits with your hair"

"Maybe you should have been one hell of a comedian instead of a butler"

"A what now?"

"Crap I keep forgetting this is 19th century England, a comedian is someone who tells jokes and not to live audiences for a living, meaning their job is to make people laugh"

"Sounds dreadful"

"It's not for everyone, but you are funny as well sometimes butler"

"Well my dear I'm glad you think so"

He then offered to escort me inside, and for the hell of it, I accepted.

So do y'all think Ciel should get a girlfriend? Let me know in a review!
