Chapter 26: The Sensei's Report
Jiraiya and Tsunade stepped out from their hidden spot in the trees, still grinning from the spectacle they had just witnessed. The sight of Konohamaru flailing inside a bubble while Hanabi calmly sipped tea had been too good to miss. They exchanged knowing glances as they made their way back toward the Hokage's office. It was time to report what they had just seen to their sensei.
As they walked through the village, Jiraiya couldn't help but chuckle. "I have to hand it to her—Hanabi's picking up Naruko's style faster than I thought she would. She's turning into a little sage in her own right."
Tsunade smirked. "Naruko's influence is rubbing off on her. You saw how calm she was, even when Konohamaru challenged her. And that bubble jutsu? Perfectly executed."
"That poor kid never stood a chance," Jiraiya said, shaking his head. "I didn't think bubbles could be so… effective in a fight."
Tsunade nodded in agreement. "She didn't just beat him physically. She beat him mentally, too. Every move was deliberate, like Naruko's. It's fascinating to see the same philosophy passed down like that."
As they approached the Hokage's office, the doors were opened by the guards, who recognized the legendary Sannin immediately. Inside, Hiruzen Sarutobi was seated at his desk, quietly reviewing scrolls. His sharp eyes looked up as his two students entered, and the warm smile that spread across his face was one of deep fondness.
"Jiraiya, Tsunade," Hiruzen greeted them warmly, motioning for them to come in. "What brings the two of you here so early? I suspect it's not just a casual visit."
Jiraiya crossed his arms and grinned. "Oh, you're going to want to hear this one, sensei. We were watching one of Naruko's students today—Hanabi Hyuga—and let's just say, she's inherited her sensei's… flair for teaching."
Hiruzen's eyes twinkled with interest. "Oh? Tell me more."
Tsunade sat down in one of the chairs across from the Hokage. "Hanabi has adopted Naruko's philosophical approach. We watched her spar with Konohamaru today, and she used Naruko's bubble jutsu to defeat him—without breaking a sweat."
"Konohamaru challenged her," Jiraiya added, leaning against the wall. "Poor kid didn't know what he was getting into. He thought he could beat her with pure strength, but Hanabi took him down using nothing but calm and control. She even gave him a few cryptic metaphors while doing it."
Hiruzen chuckled, his expression filled with pride. "It seems Hanabi is learning quickly from Naruko. She's always been a talented shinobi, but it's clear that Naruko's guidance is helping her see the world in new ways."
Tsunade nodded. "The most impressive thing was how composed she was. Even when Konohamaru got frustrated, Hanabi didn't flinch. She kept blowing her bubbles, sipping her tea, and when the time came, she trapped him in a bubble with such ease it was almost poetic."
Jiraiya smirked. "It's like watching a miniature Naruko. Except Hanabi's got her own style mixed in. You could see her thinking through every move, just like Naruko does. She didn't rely on brute strength—she used the philosophy she's been learning."
Hiruzen leaned back in his chair, thoughtful. "Naruko's influence has been profound, not just on Hanabi but on many of the young shinobi. She's teaching them to look beyond the obvious, to find the balance in everything they do. It's a lesson many shinobi never learn, even after years of battle."
Tsunade crossed her arms. "It's more than just balance, though. Hanabi is learning to read people, to understand the flow of energy and the way it connects to everything around her. She's starting to see the bigger picture, just like Naruko."
Jiraiya nodded, his expression serious for once. "You know, sensei, Naruko's way of teaching—it's different from anything we've seen before. She's not just training fighters. She's shaping thinkers. Strategists. Shinobi who understand that the world isn't just about winning battles, but about finding peace within themselves."
Hiruzen smiled softly. "That's exactly what Konoha needs right now. In these uncertain times, it's the next generation that will carry the will of fire forward. Naruko is helping them do that in her own unique way."
Tsunade leaned forward, her expression more thoughtful now. "It's rare to see such a profound change in a student so quickly. Hanabi has always been talented, but Naruko's philosophy is unlocking something deeper within her. She's becoming not just a stronger shinobi, but a wiser one."
Jiraiya, still grinning, added, "And Konohamaru learned a valuable lesson today—strength isn't everything. Sometimes, a well-placed bubble is all it takes to turn the tide of a fight."
Hiruzen chuckled again. "Konohamaru is headstrong, but he'll learn. Hanabi's calm approach will do him good. They balance each other out in ways they don't even realize yet."
Tsunade nodded in agreement. "It's clear that Naruko's influence is spreading. And it's not just about power or technique. It's about shaping the way these young shinobi see the world."
Hiruzen folded his hands on his desk, his eyes warm but filled with wisdom. "Naruko's path is one of peace and understanding, even in the midst of battle. If the next generation can learn that from her, then Konoha's future is bright indeed."
Jiraiya, ever the optimist, raised an eyebrow. "So, you think Naruko's method will stick?"
Hiruzen's smile deepened. "I do. Naruko's way is different, yes. But different is exactly what we need. The world is changing, and our shinobi must learn to change with it. Naruko is guiding them on that path, and I trust she will continue to do so."
Tsunade stood up, stretching slightly. "Well, if today was any indication, I'd say Hanabi's well on her way to becoming a force to be reckoned with. And I'm curious to see how much further she'll go under Naruko's guidance."
Jiraiya pushed off the wall, still grinning. "Me too. And maybe next time, Konohamaru will think twice before challenging a Hyuga with a pipe and some bubbles."
Hiruzen laughed, a deep, warm sound that filled the office. "Let's hope so, Jiraiya. Let's hope so."
With that, the Sannin left the Hokage's office, still exchanging remarks about the humorous and unexpected fight they had witnessed. As they walked through the village, the sun began to set, casting long shadows over Konoha. And somewhere in the distance, the soft sound of bubbles drifting through the air could be heard, a quiet reminder that wisdom, like strength, comes in many forms.
