Chapter 2: Path to Republic City
A little Trivia about Kuzon
Kuzon is an adopted boy who lives with Tenzin and his family of 5. While he cannot bend elements, he has extreme knowledge about them. He actually has something else. He can manipulate and bend light, and use it in many ways, shapes or forms, similar to Green Lantern, or Ms Marvel from the MCU.
Later on Kuzon and Korra snuck over to Naga. Korra started getting her untangled to leave.
"Nice evening for an escape isn't it?" Katara asked, startling the two.
"Gran-gran, I can explain…" Kuzon said, "I was-"
"It was my idea," Korra said, "I need to go to Republic City. I have to leave and find my own destiny as the avatar."
"I know," Katara said with a smile, "Aang's time has passed, and many of my friends and family have passed away. It is time for a new generation to keep the balance in the world. I know you will achieve greatness in the future."
Korra hugged Katara.
"Thank you," she said.
Katara then turned to Kuzon.
"Make sure you take good care of her," Katara said.
Korra then took the time to say goodbye to her parents. She followed Kuzon and Kaga onto a boat. After a few hours they finally made it to Republic City. Kuzon nudged Korra to wake up. She stirred awake and noticed they were finally at the city.
"Welcome to Republic City!" Kuzon said with a smile.
Korra got off the boat and saw a lot of amazing things. There were traveling cars, shops galore, and many other locations as far as the eye can see.
"This place is where I live," Kuzon said pointing to a small house, "Its not much, but its home. After a few days we can go to the Northern Air Temple and-"
He noticed Korra wasn't there.
"Korra?" she asked.
Korra was at a fish shop looking at all the tasty fish.
"I'll take one of everything please," Korra said.
"That will be 20 yuan," the shopkeeper said.
Kuzon then arrived giving the shopkeeper the money.
"Keep the change," he said, "Come on Korra, there's still a lot you gotta see."
"Well, its about time you found yourself a girl Kuzon," the shopkeeper said.
"Yeah I-" Kuzon started before realizing what he meant, "Wait, that's not what I-"
The shopkeeper just chuckled and walked away. Korra looked to him in confusion.
"What was all that?" Korra asked.
"Oh nothing," Kuzon answered.
Kuzon continued giving Korra a tour of the entire city. Needless to say she was amazed at what she had seen. As they continued walking around, Kuzon heard someone. It was someone making a protest speech about benders.
"Are you tired of the tyranny of benders?!" he said, "Then become part of the equalists, and put a stop to bending once and for all! For years the benders have forced us nonbenders to live as if we were beneath them! Well it ends here and now!"
"Who are you to judge bending?" Korra asked, "Its the best thing in the world!"
"Lemme guess," the protestor said, "You're a bender."
"Um… yes, I am," Korra stated
"And I assume you'd just LOVE to knock me off this pedestal," the protestor said, provoking Korra with a shit-eating grin.
"You're damn right I would," Korra said.
"This is exactly what I'm talking about," the protestor said, "Benders oppress us with their entitlement and their bending!"
This comment made people turn against Korra and scowl at her.
"Wha… I'm not oppressing you!" Korra said, "You're oppressing yourself!" I ought to-"
Kuzon held Korra back, not wanting her to start an unnecessary fight.
"Korra calm down," Kuzon said, "We should get outta here while we still can."
They continued walking around Republic City, while Korra was on Naga's back.
"So what do you think of the city so far?" Kuzon asked.
"Apart from a few setbacks, I think this city is really great," Korra said.
Kuzon turned to Korra and smiled.
"Once we get a few scrolls from the air temple, your training can begin," he said, "And then we…"
They were interrupted by a crash. Kuzon saw a group of thugs running off with some belongings. It was the Triple Threat Triad. He knew this was his time to shine.
"Alright, finally some excitement!" Kuzon said.
He chased down the thugs while jumping from platforms. When he got close enough, he jumped into the air. He then fired a beam of light to the ground to distract the thugs. They were temporary blinded by the brightness. Kuzon then went around and started fighting off the thugs one by one. He failed to notice one of them about to attack Kuzon.
"Lights out boy!" he said.
Before anything could happen, Korra threw a waterball at him, knocking him down. Kuzon turned to Korra and smiled.
"Thanks for the help," Kuzon said.
"Less talking more fighting," Korra said.
Some bystanders came by and saw Korra doing different styles of bending. They were beginning to notice who she really was. The Triple Threat Triad realized they were outmatched and started to run away.
"These punks never learn," Kuzon said.
Their moment of glory was short lived, as a metalbending cop arrived looking at Kuzon and Korra.
"Stay where you are, you in the blue!" he said.
"Metalbenders?" Korra asked.
More of the marrived and went down to stop the Triple Threat Triad from escaping. One of them looked at Korra.
"Well, looks like we did your job for ya," she said.
"Arrest them too," One of them said.
"What?" Kuzon asked, "did you not see what she just did?"
"We saw her disturbing the peace," Another officer said to him.
"Hang on, just let me-" Korra started before being arrested.
She was taken into a car along with Naga. Kuzon protested against this.
"You can't do this!" Kuzon said.
"If you have a complaint then bring it to our chief," he said.
They drove away. Kuzon knew he was in some deep shit. He went to the Northern Air Temple to deliver the news.
