"Dad? You got a second to talk?"

Jason had been practicing on a large punching bag when he heard Sarah's voice. He stopped and turned around to see her standing in the doorway of his exercise room, along with Mina. "Of course, Sarah," he said. "Is everything okay? You two look like you've got a lot on your minds."

"Yeah, we do," said Sarah, coming into the room with Mina following. "I'm sure you saw on the news what happened today?"

"Yeah, that was pretty wild," said Jason. "A whole new team of Power Rangers is out there now. Brought back memories of when I was your age."

"Well that's what we wanted to talk to you about, Dad," said Sarah. "Mina, show him," she added to her sister. Both girls held out their phones, with the screens open to display their Power Coins.

Jason felt his heart nearly stop when he saw the coins in the phones. "Where…where did you get those?" he finally asked, his voice quiet.

"A scientist named Ammoron," said Mina. "He said he was a friend of Zordon's."

"You know, yours and Mom's former mentor," said Sarah. She didn't sound accusatory, just stating a fact.

Jason's mind was racing so fast he couldn't think of what to say. His children knew his and his wife's long-held secret, and now they themselves were Power Rangers. How was he supposed to respond to any of this? He was still thinking when he heard his wife's voice.

"Hey, is everything okay here?" asked Trini, coming into the room. "I can feel the tension in here." She looked at her daughters and saw the Power Coins and she froze in place. "What are…"

"We're the new Power Rangers, Mom," said Sarah. "We were the ones who stopped that attack at the mall today."
Jason finally spoke up. "You say the man who gave you these…is a friend of Zordon's?" he asked.

"Yeah, he told us all about you," said Mina. "He said we shouldn't tell anybody but you about what we are."

"After all, you guys have been there before," said Sarah. "If anyone can prepare us for what lies ahead, it's you two."

Trini looked silently at Jason, and he looked back. Neither of them could believe what was happening right now. Their own children were walking the same path they themselves had walked as teens. Which meant they would be facing incredible challenges and dangers from this point onwards.

"Girls, you wait here for a minute," said Jason. "I need to speak to your mother privately about this." He walked out of the room with Trini and whispered to her, "I can't believe this is happening right now."

"I know, Jason, I don't know what to think," Trini whispered back. "Our girls…they're following our footsteps."

"Not exactly what we would have chosen for them," said Jason. "But it looks like they've made their choice."

"So what should we do?" asked Trini.

"We guide them," said Jason. "We share our experience and our knowledge with them, prepare them as best we can for what they're going to face."

"You're right," said Trini. "We can't stop them from doing this, but we can help them."

They both went back into the room. The girls looked at them, wondering what they would say. "Girls is this really what you both want to do?" asked Jason.

"We're positive," said Sarah. "This is our home, and it needs someone to protect it. We can't just sit back and do nothing."

"Will you…will you help us?" asked Mina, looking up at her parents.

"Of course we will," said Trini. "We'll help you in any way we possibly can."

The girls smiled and went up to their parents, giving them a hug. They hugged back, not knowing what the future had in store for them. But whatever it was, they would face it as a family.

Meanwhile, in Miasma's hidden fortress, a meeting was taking place between the big boss himself and his lieutenants. "So that's the situation," said Miasma. "Our old friend Ammoron has finally selected a new team of superpowered meddlers to interfere in our business. Which means we must do a little pest control."

"They don't seem that difficult to deal with," said Yuki-Onno, the infamous Snow Lady of Japan. "They're fresh-faced, inexperienced, all easy targets."

"I love easy prey," said Wendigo, the flesh-eating monstrosity from North America. "I'm going to look forward to devouring those meddlesome teenagers, nice and slowly."

"Don't be too eager," said El Silbon, the whistling specter of South America. "Overconfidence has been our downfall before, it could very well be the case again."

"El Silbon is correct," said Miasma, adjusting his clawed gloves. "As much as we need to be proactive, we need to be strategic about it. We need to rely on our Enforcers to eliminate these Power Rangers."

"If it's an Enforcer you need, I have just the one," said Wendigo, making a guttural clicking sound in his throat. "I say we call on the services of Mako to handle the Rangers."

"Mako…an excellent choice," said Miasma with a toothed grin. "Give him a call, tell him to cause a scene at the harbor. The messier, the better."

"Consider it done, Miasma," said Wendigo with a dry cackle.

The next day, in Angel Grove, the kids were all at the Youth Center again, talking about what had happened the previous day.

"So how did your parents take it?" asked Sarah, sipping a strawberry shake while a half-eaten cheeseburger sat on her plate.

"About as well as you'd expect," said James, cleaning his glasses. "They thought it was crazy, but they've agreed to support my decision."

"Same here," said Lillith. "I'm honestly surprised Mom took it so well. I get the impression she wasn't sorry to leave the Ranger life behind."

"Dad was pretty cool with it," said Seth. "He's even offered to help hone my martial arts skills in preparation."

"So did our dad," said Sarah. "You know, we should consider training with each other to see how well training is going."

"I'm game for that," said Seth with a smile.

"My parents almost had kittens," said Jenny, eating a double cheeseburger. "But they calmed down in time after they saw how serious I was."

"So our families all have our backs," said Sarah. "That's good to know. Now it's just a matter of preventing others from finding out our little secret."

"I just hope Miasma doesn't send his monsters during school hours," said James. "Going to be pretty hard to explain that level of absence away to our teachers." He paused to take a bite of his fish sandwich. "Not to mention the damage it would do to our academic standing."

"I guess for now we just have to wait and see," said Seth. "I'm sure it will only be a matter of time until Miasma makes his next move."

As if one cue, their phones beeped. Sarah opened hers and looked at the screen. "Get to my lab quickly, something is happening," she read aloud. "Guys, let's get going."

They slipped away from the rest of the youth center and teleported to Ammoron's lab. "Oh good, you're here," said Ammoron. "We've got a situation going on at Angel Grove harbor right now."

"What's the matter?" asked Mina, worried.

"One of Miasma's minions is making a move," said Ammoron, bringing up the giant monitor. "From the looks of it…yes, I thought so," he said as a sharklike creature appeared on the monitor. "It's Mako, one of his Enforcers."

"Ugh! Now that's a face for radio," said Jenny, grimacing.

"Yes, and his attitude is even nastier than his looks," said Ammoron. "You need to deal with him fast before there's more casualties."

"You can count on us," said Sarah as she turned to her teammates. "Guys, it's morphin' time!"

The teens morphed and teleported to the harbor, near Mako's last reported location. "Okay guys, stay alert," said Sarah. "No telling how many goons this Mako guy has with him, or if they've got hostages or what."

Out of the corner of his eye, Seth saw a flicker of movement. Someone was hiding behind a stack of shipping crates, trying to signal them. "Hey, looks like we've got a survivor," he said, pointing. They all rushed over to speak to the terrified dock worker.

"Am I glad to see you!" he said. "These mobster-looking goons and this…shark-man thing just attacked us out of nowhere! We were trying to get aboard this ship that's been docked for the last two days, trying to get a look at what was in her cargo hold. But as soon as we got aboard, we got jumped by those things! Now they've got a bunch of us held up in one of the warehouses and they're killing everyone else they get their hands on."

"Don't worry, we'll take care of it," said Sarah. "You get yourself somewhere safe, we'll take care of these creeps." She turned to the other Rangers. "Seth, we need to save the hostages first, then go after Mako. Got any suggestions?"

"I say we split up," said Seth. "Half of us will rescue the hostages, the other half will track Mako and stall him."

"I like it," replied Sarah. "I want you to take Lillith and Mina and go save the hostages. Jenny, James, you're both with me. Once the hostages are safe, you three catch up with the rest of us."

"Understood," said Seth. "Be careful out there."

"I always am," said Sarah. "Jenny, James, let's do this!"

The two groups split off from each other, with Seth leading Lillith and Mina towards the warehouses. "Okay, keep your heads down and be on guard," said Seth. "No sense exposing ourselves too soon."

"Don't have to tell me twice," said Lillith.

Mina suddenly stopped and crouched, holding up a hand to signal the others. "Guys, hold up," she said quietly. "They've got…guards stationed outside the warehouse. Two at every doorway."

"How can you tell?" asked Lillith, crouching beside her.

"My helmet, I…it's like I can see them clearly," she said.

"That's your special abilities kicking in," came Ammoron's voice. "You have enhanced sensors and scanners in your helmet, like the hunting senses of the saber-tooth."

"That will certainly come in handy," said Seth. "See any ways to get in?"

"We might be able to get in from below, using the sewer tunnels," said Mina.

"Oh great, just where I always wanted to go," said Lillith.

"We'll just have to deal with it," said Seth. "Come on, let's go."

Using a manhole cover, they ducked into the tunnels below the harbor and made their way to the warehouse. It wasn't the most pleasant trip, but they didn't waste energy complaining. Even Lillith kept her comments to herself. Thankfully the tunnels were devoid of Soldatos, so the trip was uneventful.

"Okay, we're right below the warehouse," said Seth, looking up. "Mina, can you sense anything?"

Mina focused and saw through the floor of the warehouse, all living beings shown as glowing figures. "There's about twenty hostages, all held on the ground floor," she said. "They have about…ten guards, not counting the ones outside."

"This almost seems too easy," said Lillith. "Like we're walking into a trap."

"Well there's only one thing to do in that case," said Seth. The girls turned to look at him and he said, "Spring the trap." Both girls nodded their heads in agreement.

Up top, several of the guards were standing at attention in a ring around the hostages, facing outward. The others were walking around, keeping their eyes peeled for the Rangers.

The three superpowered teens climbed out through a utility tunnel and watched the guards from their hiding place. "Okay, time to light it up," whispered Seth, drawing his blaster. The other two drew their blasters, taking position. "Okay…NOW!"

They popped out of cover and fired, shooting down the Soldatos who were covering the hostages. The others immediately snapped into action, trying to shoot at them. Mina broke cover, moving with blistering speed as she quickly closed the gap with a group of Soldatos, battling them with her martial arts skills. Lillith and Seth broke cover and joined in, dodging blades while punching and kicking. As they were fighting, another Soldato suddenly dropped down into view. Unlike the others, though, this one was wearing a white and black suit and Fedora, wearing what looked like a kabuki mask. He drew a long red katana from his back and spun the blade around, glaring at them with glowing eyes.

"What the heck is this guy?" asked Lillith. "Some kind of special unit?"

"It's a Capo," said Ammoron's voice. "The command units of the Soldatos. Be careful, they're far more skilled and efficient!"

"Got it, Ammoron," said Seth. "Girls, let's demote this guy to doormat!"

The three of them battled the Capo, doing their best to dodge the katana. Then he spotted an opening in Lillith's defenses and struck her across the chest. Sparks flew as she was knocked backwards. "Hey jerk, you're scuffing my suit!" she yelled, doing a flying kick that knocked him backwards. She quickly inspected herself, saying, "I can't believe that didn't cut through."

"The suits are designed to be stronger than any suit of armor," she heard Ammoron say. "Trust me, they can take a lot of punishment before you legitimately feel anything."

"Lucky for us, this guy is just as good as you said," said Seth. "Come on, let's finish this guy off already!"

The Capo came at Seth, blade raised. Seth stood there, watching and waiting for just the right time. The Capo struck, thrusting forward with the blade as he charged. Seth sidestepped the blade perfectly, slamming his fist full force into the demon's chest like a speeding truck. A loud crack was heard as the Capo came to a violent stop, the blade fell from his hand, and he fell silently onto his face.

"You're done, paisano," said Seth, looking down at the fallen demon. He turned to the hostages. "Are you guys okay?"

"Yeah, thanks to you," said one of the dock workers. "We thought we were dead for sure."

"Don't worry about us now," said another dock worker. "We'll be okay."

"Right," said Lillith. "Come on, we better regroup with Sarah and the others."

"And you better do it fast," said Ammoron. "They're having a real hard time of it with the Enforcer."

"Come on, Rangers, let's do this," said Seth as he and the girls ran off to find Sarah's group.
