Days later
I spent the next few days. Needing to process and digest this information.
Peyton was finally being honest with me. I only had her word for it.
But something about this felt real. But I needed proof.
Or maybe I didn't. I wanted to be a father.
But before I did anything more.
I reached out to Brooke and I met her at her house.
She hugged me tight. I kissed her.
I had ached for her these past few days even though I needed to be alone.
(I want to know how everything went with Peyton. Did she give the information you needed?) Brooke asked.
I sighed deeply. Looking into the eyes of the woman I loved most.
(We should really sit down. I got information and we have to talk about it.) Lucas replied.
(You have my full attention.) Brooke said.
As the two were seated beside each other.
(She admitted that she lied about the adoption. She kept the baby. His name is Levi.)
(He lives in LA with Larry.)
(She isn't allowing me access to him. She said it's my consequence for choosing you.) Lucas explained.
Tears welled up in Brooke's eyes. As she focused on him. (Where's the DNA test results?) Brooke asked.
(I don't have them. I want to believe her.)
(That this boy is mine. Not because I want to be tied to her.)
(Because I've wanted to be a dad for years. But I need to know how you feel.)
(Honest and open. You are my soul mate. My team mate. The better part of me.) Lucas proclaimed
Brooke sighed deeply. Knowing exactly what she wanted to say.
(My honest thoughts on this are she wants to have you in her life. No matter what it takes.)
(She feels as if she owns you that you belong to her.)
(So no I don't believe a word she says especially regarding this boy.)
(She admitted herself that she had dated and fallen in love with Julian. Julian lives and grew up in LA.)
(There is a strong possibility that she knows that Julian is the father and she's so desperate to hold on to you she'll lie. Because she knows how you feel about kids. How you grew up.)
(Its a raw nerve for you. And she will pull and tug at it because she can't let you go.)
(The signs are there don't you feel it see it? She's desperate. Because you've let her go. And she can't have that.) Brooke insisted.
Lucas swallowed hard. Knowing she was right.
