Hello, and many thanks to those who read and reviewed this fic. I am really happy and this inspired me to bring in the next chapter, and here the story advances further as the current scene shows that Midoriya and the still-unidentified co-protagonist are having a stare-down which might either lead to a conflict…or a possible understanding…
But then an unexpected situation occurs…
Well, then…read on and enjoy!
Amid what is happening at the moment, curious onlookers gathered as they witnessed two individuals having a face-off and are intrigued by what they are seeing, as at one side Gant is doing a fighting pose while the other, Glen, did the same, and the onlookers brought out their smartphones and took videos of the confrontation as they find it intriguing as they noted that both Gant and Glen are sporting similar attires:
- Both are wearing armors; with Gant's armor being black and Glen being red;
- Gant's motif being a turtle while Glen's motif being a phoenix;
- Both wearing capes;
The onlookers continue to record the scene in front of them as Gant confronted Glen and the onlookers are now baffled as they wondered which one of them is a pro hero, due to the two having similar attires and wondered if one of them is either a vigilante or a villain and this made the onlookers becoming more curious than ever.
"Whoa, man…"
"Check it out…"
"Two guys in armor and capes…"
"They seemed to look the same…"
"So which one's the pro hero and the FAKE?"
"Can't say…"
"Lets see how this would unfold…"
"Good idea…"
The onlookers continue to record and stream the confrontation between Gant and Glen and there the onlookers finally heard the verbal confrontation after seeing Gant made his move and attempted to apprehend Glen but the latter instinctively repel him as the two armored individuals began locking arms as they try to overpower one another yet Glen managed to break free and back away.
There Gant told Glen that he is taking him in for questioning and said that he is to answer to the charges of either homicide or murder and property damage, but Glen vehemently deny the accusations and explained the circumstances but Gant said that Glen would have to turn himself in and explain to the authorities, but the latter realized that he would be in trouble if he does so and that he would be subjected to a lot of unwanted scrutiny and reluctantly told Gant that he won't do so saying that he was a victim of the Paradisers' attack and that he is only defending himself.
"Sorry, but I can't…"
"Why?"
"If I turn myself in even though I was victimized by the Paradisers…the police would only berate me and subject me to community service and stuff…they would even keep me in their hit list…"
"If you committed no crime then at least turn yourself in and explain your side…"
"Even of I do…they won't let me off and would use me as a scapegoat…"
"Don't be foolish…"
"I have nothing to do with this…"
"I won't let you go…"
What Glen didn't realize is that Gant stealthily uses a smartphone to send an emergency text message to Team Idaten and inform them of the situation, and seconds later he received a text reply which Ingenium said that Gant would have to stall Glen as Team Idaten is on the way there, and there Gant decided to stealthily stall his target and tells him to surrender now, which Glen refuses.
To keep Glen from escaping Gant goaded his opponent and does a fighting pose before revealing his alias, and Glen got suckered as he does the same thing – doing a fighting pose before saying his name.
"Riser…Gant! Suisan!"
"Riser…Glen! Kenzan!"
The onlookers blinked their eyes at hearing this and glanced at each other, baffled at hearing them chanting and apparently REVEALING their names but are perplexed at the two armored individuals shouting the RISER prefix.
"Huh?"
"What?"
"What did they say…?"
"I think I heard them say…RISER or something…"
"Me too…I heard it."
"Is that a new catchphrase…?"
"Beats me…"
"Looks like an action/serial drama…"

Ch. 5: Totsuzen no hyōteki
Gant made his move and makes another attempt to pin down Glen but the latter held his ground even though he has almost zero experience in defending himself and all he could do is push Gant back and there he told him that he was victimized by the Paradisers and only acted in self-defense as the Paradisers tried to murder him just because he accidentally stumbled onto their plans to attack a daycare center.
Moreover Glen pointed out that the two policemen who arrived were the first to respond and there the Paradisers use their power suits to kill them, and as for the Paradisers who are laid dead, Glen explained the circumstances yet Gant said that he still has no proof and thus Glen would have to turn himself in to the authorities, which Glen finds it very unfair.
"Sorry, but still I'm not coming…and I won't b3 subjected to unjustified interrogation…"
"You stubborn fool…why?"
"Like I said a while ago…if I do what you said…if I turn myself in to the authorities even though I was victimized by the Paradisers…the police would still berate me and subject me to community service and stuff…they would even keep me in their hit list… they'll do anything to cover the fact that a mere Quirkless citizen like me accidentally defeated the Paradisers…"
"Listen…don't be foolish! If what you say is true that you that you actually defended yourself and not responsible for the ruckus…then at least turn yourself in and explain your side…"
"Even of I do…they won't let me off and would use me as a scapegoat…I've seen it before…"
"Don't be foolish…"
"I have nothing to do with this…please…stop using me as a scapegoat…"
"Then I have no choice but not to won't let you go until the police arrive…"
By then the vloggers who witnessed what happened earlier came out of hiding and told Gant that Glen was telling the truth and showed him their recorded video where it shows that the Paradisers were truly attempting to murder Glen and that the grenade explosion was the Paradisers' fault, hence Glen is innocent as all he ever did was evade the Paradisers' assaults and nothing more.
"Huh…so then…"
"Yeah…he's telling the truth…"
"Those bald guys started this and are targeting this guy…"
"He actually defended himself and even risked his life to face those baldies in armors…"
"Then…this guy is…"
"Yup."
"He took it upon himself to take those baldies since he knew that he ran off and came across people, then those baldies would target them as well…"
"And that's the truth."
Gant was taken aback upon seeing the video footage as the vloggers told Gant that Glen took the burden as he knew that if he tried to make a run and if he cane across many civilians the Paradisers would have targeted them as they made it clear that there would be no witnesses, and there Gant glanced at Glen, who just stood there and there Gant is having doubts if Glen is really a victim here or not.
Suddenly a local pro hero appeared and struck Glen from behind, sending him careening against a parked car, knocking him down, and there Gant was shocked at seeing this, as the local pro hero who did that is appeared to act like a chevalier as he acted like he just SAVED THE DAY, though the vloggers were not pleased at seeing a local pro hero FIGHTING DIRTY.
The local pro hero is described as an exceptionally tall (his height being 6'2½"), well-built man, possessing defined muscles and wide shoulders. He has small black eyes, a circular nose, and a prominently large, square jaw, with the lower jaw protruding outwards, and his mouth is notably high up on his face as a result.
His hero costume consists of a purple, skin-tight bodysuit with black arrow-like markings across his chest, around his waist, and down the center of his thighs. His knee-high boots share this theme, as they have arrow-shaped cavities down their shafts, and he also wears a matching black mask over the top of his head and eyes.
On his hands, he wears elbow-length green gloves with golden scale patterns around the edges, and he also sports a short green scarf-like cape around his neck, a golden disc on the left of it to connect two aiguillettes around his torso. He completes his outfit with a thick black belt with a large buckle, five green circles and a golden rectangle set into the center of it.
The local pro hero is identified as Slidin' Go, and there he pointed his finger at the downed Glen that he is under arrest for the following charges, which are:
- frustrated homicide
- property damage
- attempted insurrection
- possession of illegal support items
- Usurpation Of Authority by masquerading as a pro hero
Slidin' Go then pointed his finger at Gant and said that he too is under arrest for being Glen's accomplice and that he too would be taken down and taken to the police, but the vloggers angrily confronted Slidin' Go and said that Gant and Glen are innocent and showed the local pro hero the video footage they recorded and pointed out that Glen was attacked by the Paradisers and that Gant just arrived and mistook Glen for being one of the Paradisers and the vloggers diffuse the misunderstanding until Slidin' Go showed up and did this.
"Now, now…you folks have been misled…these two are just playing you and…"
"FUCK OFF!"
"You asshole!"
"The red-suited guy's just a kid…and he fought those bald guys in suits all by himself just to protect people! And the guy in the black suit mistook the other guy for being nthe culprit but he realized his mistake!"
"Please, kind citizens…do not be swayed by these amateur villain…"
"You're the stupid one!"
"How the fuck did you become a pro hero?"
"You jerk! The guy in the red suit even risked his life and almost getting killed!"
Slidin' Go then assume that the vloggers were being misled and tried to downplay the situation yet the vloggers, and soon the other onlookers, came and confronted the local pro hero and berated him for being cheap and incompetent, saying that Glen indirectly led to the Paradisers' defeat even though he did not lift a finger and that Gant only responded and realize the error he made.
There the onlookers helped Glen up and asked if he is okay, which he assured to them that he is okay. However Slidin' Go attempted to restrain Glen but the latter slapped his hand aside and told him that he should instead search for Hammerhead, saying that he is the Paradiser leader and the only one left that is on the run, and said that if Hammerhead remained at large he is likely to recruit replacements to replace the dead ones and resume targeting certain individuals, which includes Glen himself.
Gant stared in surprise upon hearing this and asked Glen for confirmation, which the latter nodded and said that the last explosion that happened moments ago was from Hammerhead as he did this to cover his escape and by now he is recruiting people he could find useful in carrying his violent propaganda.
The vloggers were also in a state of disbelief at hearing this and realized that Glen is telling the truth and now they have reason to believe what he just said and now they decided that they too should play a role in helping in keeping the city safe.
"This red-armored guy…"
"He's telling the truth…"
"So the bald guy who escaped…"
"Then that means…"
"Maybe we really ought to help…"
"We should keep an eye out…"
"And alert the authorities and pro heroes of we see the bald guys…"
"Good idea…"
Suddenly SWAT Force members arrived and immediately drew out their high-powered weapons and began shooting at Gant and Glen, which the latter two were taken by surprise and there the vloggers and onlookers screamed as they feared at being hit by stray bullets and began to scamper for safety, whilst Glen was forced to head to a different direction to divert the SWAT members' attention so that stray bullets won't hit the innocent civilians.
Gant stayed behind as he intend to take the hit since his armor is bulletproof and all he had to do is wait for the SWAT members' weapons to run out of bullets, but then he saw two of the SWAT members brought out RPG and bazooka, and are loading the shells as they prepare to open fire, and seeing that the civilians haven't found a safe spot, he braced himself as the impact might harm him as the SWAT leader told his men to open fire which they nodded in acknowledgement.
"Open fire! Fire at will!"
"Yes sir!"
"Yes sir!"
"Yes sir!"
"Yes sir!"
"Yes sir!"
"Yes sir!"
"Yes sir!"
However, pro heroes Manual and Ingenium arrived and confronted the SWAT leader as he tells him to have his men stand down as there are innocent civilians there and the shrapnel from the RPG and bazooka shells might struck the innocent people, but the SWAT leader ignored the two pro heroes and ordered his men to open fire at Gant, which the SWAT members roared in acknowledgement.
"Ignore them! Open fire! Fire at will!"
"Yes sir!"
"Yes sir!"
"Yes sir!"
"Yes sir!"
"Yes sir!"
"Yes sir!"
"Yes sir!"
The vloggers and onlookers were horrified at the callous disregard of the SWAT members and there the SWAT members opened fire as they shoot using the RPG shells but Glen made a last-minute change of mind as he rushed towards the scene, pushed Gant aside and the RPG and bazooka shells struck Glen, which resulted in an explosion which the impact was strong and he was thrown against a nearby gas station where the gas station attendants were terrified and ran away, just as the gas station exploded in flames.
Gant was shocked by the turn of events but as he turn around the SWAT members aimed their weapons at him and ordered him to surrender unconditionally, which he braced himself as he realized that he may have to fight them off given their callous actions that could have resulted in numerous injuries to the civilians.
Slidin' Go then grabbed Gant and said that he got him and told the SWAT members to pin Gant down but Manual and Ingenium shoved Slidin' Go and the SWAT members back and berated them for their careless actions, which resulted in a tense standoff.
However Police Chief Kenji Tsuragamae arrived and sternly ordered the SWAT members to stand down and the latter were forced to acknowledge the command as Tsuragamae berated the SWAT force for their actions which puts the civilians at risk and there Slidin' Go tried to alibi his way out by explaining his actions but Tsuragamae brought out his smartphone and showed the recorded video streaming of what he did, and what the SWAT members committed, and there Tsuragamae said that he will lodge a complaint to the Hero Public Safety Commission regarding what Slidin' Go did, much to the latter's disbelief.
"That is what's going to happen."
"Eh…? But…but…"
"I will lodge a formal complaint at the Hero Public Safety Commission…and complain about your incompetence."
"But…but…"
"The citizens here have the right to question your qualifications of being a pro hero…and now they have reason to do so."
"But…but…"
"That is all."
"But…but…"
Tsuragamae then ordered his men to disarm the SWAT members and their leader as they are to undergo proceedings as he would punish them for their unjustified actions while Manual spoke to Tsuragamae, which Ingenium discreetly whispered to Gant to leave right away which the latter nodded a s quietly left the scene and made sure he is not being followed.
The Team Idaten members then went to the gas station where firefighters are dousing the flames with water, and upon checking the scene the three sidekicks of Ingenium stared in disbelief at seeing that Glen was not there and that there are no signs of being injured or the like, and realized that his armor may have protected him and used the flames from the burning gas station to stealthily escape detection and the three sidekicks immediately went to Ingenium to discreetly notify him of what just happened.

Not far, Izuku Midoriya was walking at the streets though he was wobbling as the impact of the RPG and bazooka shells somewhat bruised his chest and the explosion from the gas station also played a part, but thanks to the armor he was wearing he narrowly escape getting seriously injured and now he is on his way home after the events that happened minutes ago.
A brief flashback revealed that he was able to withstand the inferno and uses the flames to covertly escape detection and once he is away from prying eyes he went inside a lingerie store and while inside he glanced at a mirror and saw his armored form and he pondered on how to get back to normal, but upon seeing his armored chest he saw that power bank-like device attached onto the left side of his armored chest and instinctively removed it and there his armor and cape disappeared and Midoriya is back to his normal self.
He then quietly left the lingerie store before the cashier comes out, and soon Izuku made his way back to the apartment complex where his mother Inko greeted him and he had to hide the fact that he was nearly killed by the Paradisers and he pretended that everything is business as usual.
"Oh, Izuku…"
"Mom…"
"Welcome home."
"Uh…yeah, I'm home…"
"Dinner would be ready in a while…"
"Yeah…I'll be at my room…"
"Huh? Are you okay…?"
"I'm fine. Really."

Hope you liked this chapter, as Midoriya narrowly escaped a possible situation as Slidin Go appeared and intentionally targeted the younger boy in the hopes of EARNING POINTS, while Gant is starting to believe that Midoriya doesn't appear to be a villain…
Well…this ends the opening story arc and now we are jumpstarting to a new one…
