Gathering Thoughts and Dark Plan Begins
Team JNPR has just gotten back from the festival ground to enjoy some fresh air and some positive reinforcement to cheer themselves up from the sudden attack by two Shadaloo men, she couldn't help but think how the attack was done, and it was just the two of them that didn't feel right to her.
She hopes it's nothing serious, but her instincts are telling her otherwise and she will have to prepare for what may come like a storm of darkness.
"Hey."
Pyrrha looks up seeing Jaune holding a cone of cotton candy and his small smile that is just enough to make her feel calm from the potential danger that have been washed away.
"I-It's no green goop, but I think it still might do some good." Jaune offered the cotton candy to Pyrrha, thinking that this could cheer her up.
"Um, right. Thank you, Jaune." Pyrrha hesitated a little but gladly accepted the treat.
Nora hops happily thinking the team had enough fun for the day, but then she saw Jaune and Pyrrha having a moment and knew this would be good for them.
"Uh... come on, Ren. Let's go back to the fairgrounds. I'll win you another stuffed animal." Nora said while dragging a confused Ren who is carrying cotton candy, a tub of popcorn, and a drink to sip on.
"And maybe find you Karin." Nora smirked, causing Ren to blush.
"Even when I told my parents I was going to Beacon, they told me not to worry if I ended up having to move back home. How depressing is that?" Jaune mentioned how his parents didn't give him the support he needed back then, not even a "Good Luck" say from them.
Pyrrha was surprised to hear this from Jaune about his parents would say such a thing, she knew that his family didn't want him to pursue the path of a Huntsman, but this was a bit more than she expected. Like they truly believed their own son wouldn't get through Beacon at all.
"I'm sure they didn't mean—" Pyrrha stopped when she felt his hand on top of hers. This caught her off guard and dropped her cotton candy.
"I guess... I'm just trying to say that... you've always been there for me... even when I didn't deserve it. And I can tell there's something on your mind, so... I don't know. How can I help?" Jaune asked.
Pyrrha smiles at Jaune knowing that he is always going to be there to help her even though he may have no idea on how to do it, but her heart feels strong in each beat from just being near the man who became what she wanted for a long time.
Jaune became someone who became the bright light of her life that she couldn't have asked for more.
"You're already doing it." Pyrrha leaned her head onto his shoulder.
Jaune felt his heart skipped a beat a little though he is calm and lean his head onto her own head, having a quiet moment for a while that nothing could interrupt their peaceful moment.
The quiet time was over when Pyrrha spoke again.
"Jaune, do you believe in destiny?" Pyrrha asked. Jaune was taken aback by that sudden question.
"Um... I-I don't know. I guess that depends on how you view it." Jaune said, thinking that Pyrrha may have something she wants to talk about.
"When I think of destiny, I don't think of a predetermined fate you can't escape. But rather... some sort of final goal, something you work towards your entire life." Pyrrha explained as she looks up at the sky.
"Okay. Uh, yeah. I can see that, sure." Jaune nodded, listening to her more.
"Well... what would you do if something came along that you... never expected? Something that had the potential to stand between you and your destiny?" Pyrrha asked.
"Like what?" Jaune asked back, now getting confused with the question.
Pyrrha was about to speak again, but then she started to once again recall on what Master Gouken said to her having others by her side when she couldn't do things on her own, then she took a deep breath.
"Let say you were given an opportunity to do something more with your life, something that didn't seem like it was your destiny to begin with. How would you handle it?" Pyrrha asked.
"That's a hard question to answer, it all depends on what that opportunity is and whether or not I can handle it alone. If it's hard then it would be a lot of pressure to handle." Jaune expressed how he feels about this a little.
"Perhaps you don't have to do it alone." Pyrrha smiled.
"How would you feel that you needed help when confronting your destiny, that you'll have people who truly cares about you to watch your back?" Pyrrha asked a different question that involves the first one.
"Well, then I would appreciate the help because that sounds like a lot of responsibility and I could really use some support." Jaune answered honestly the best he could.
"I see, then it looks like I don't have to worry about anything right now." Pyrrha smiled.
"Were we talking about you or something else?" Jaune asked, feeling a little confuse in this conversation.
"Don't worry about it, let just enjoy ourselves for the time being before the tournament starts up again." Pyrrha said.
"Okay, if you say so." Jaune nodded.
Unknown to them, a raven bird is sitting on a branch of a nearby tree watching the two and then the raven flew away.
(With Sun and Velvet)
The scene shows of the cliffside docking bays down the main alleyway and under the floating Amity Colosseum where Velvet is taking some pictures of Sun and his weapon, Ruby and Yang are walking together then spotted the two decided to interact with them.
"Hey guys, how are you doing?" Sun asked.
"Doing great so far. Yang wouldn't stop whining that she had to stay in the room all day, so she convinced me to take her outside." Ruby answered.
"I really needed the exercise. Muscles like these don't come in cheap." Yang flexed her muscles.
"I can see that." Sun chuckled, loving the attitude of this girlfriend.
"What're you up to?" Ruby asked Velvet.
"Oh, you know. Just working on my photography. Do you wanna see?" Velvet showed her pictures to the two, and Sun joins in to see if she got his good side.
But to their surprise, she didn't even get all of Sun in the picture as she seem to have only got his weapon in each shot with his head cut off and his feet.
"Huh, these are… great?" Yang was a little unsure of what to say about these photos.
"Yeah, they look… better?" Ruby was puzzled by this too.
"Well, it may not have been the whole me in the picture, my weapon does look great in them. And I think I need to check if they're alright before my match." Sun said.
"So, you did good." Sun kissed Velvet on the cheek and her ear making her blush.
"How are you doing, Yang? I'm sure it still hurts from that mask man's attack when he and that other guy crashed the tournament." Velvet asked in concern for her fellow girlfriend.
"I'm fine, my Aura is healing me nicely, so I should be ready for the tournament again." Yang proclaimed, but she was scared when Vega attacked her like that now understanding more of the other kind of danger her moms face when they go out on missions.
"Now if only the people would stop thinking we're not good enough." Sun groaned a little.
"I think it's just awful what people are saying about what happened. None of us could've seen it coming and we were busy with other things." Velvet pointed out.
"Well, I'm glad someone thinks so." Ruby said, remembering what her moms and uncle told her and Yang about how the people would react to this.
"Most people don't know what it's like on the battlefield. I mean, even experienced fighters can get scared with the sight of blood and murdering around them and start seeing things. If it happened to Coco, it can happen to anyone." Velvet mentioned.
"You mean about Emerald's Semblance? We were talking about that right after that match." Sun recalled that moment.
"That's right, I hope we'll be able to get through the festival okay without any more bad things happening." Velvet prayed a little.
"Funny you should mention Emerald. They told us to be careful with that team, like they're not what they appear to be." Yang mentioned.
"You think they're up to no good? But they seem nice, and I even had sex with Cinder before Yang's match." Sun revealed out, getting some looks from Yang and Velvet while Ruby shook her head.
"What? I couldn't help myself to give what the heart wants, like you two." Sun pulled Yang and Velvet into a hug in each arm.
"Sure, just make sure to tell us about is sooner than right now." Yang chuckled, kissing him for a second.
"Still, wish we could talk to them about this. Maybe they could tell us something about what Shadaloo is up to." Yang sighed, knowing that Cinder and her team are gone now.
"I'm sure we'll see them again." Sun believed.
"(For some reason, I can't stop thinking about that Cinder is really in deep with Shadaloo.)" Sun thought felt something dark with this story.
(Amity Colosseum)
Sun and Menat are sitting together with Mika, Elena, Ibuki, team SSSN and Chun-Li being with them to enjoy the show from this view. They can hear the crowd cheering loudly for the next match to start up soon, but the police-Huntress is keeping her guard up because of what happened earlier with Balrog.
"Is Cammy not coming?" Ibuki asked.
"She's back at the airship to interrogate Balrog and Vega about their plan for the festival, but they haven't spill anything yet." Chun-Li answered.
(With Cammy)
Cammy glares down at Balrog and Vega who are both tied up in some metal restraints keeping them from doing anything stupid like trying to escape.
"Alright, you two. Better start talking about your plan, we know you were going to do something with the festival, and it involves with the White Fangs." Cammy demanded.
"You should be careful with how you strain your face. It's not a very good look for a delicate flower such as yourself." Vega advised, not saying anything.
"Do you expect to take me for a fool? We already stop your plan with the rampaging Grimms with the train, and we will stop you again." Cammy pointed out.
"True, that was the plan for us. Or least that's how we wanted you to do, when we can strike at the very moment when everyone would feel peace and safety around them because of you so-called Hunters." Vega smirked.
"Gotta say, it was fun to crash the party just to make sure that bitch and the brats wouldn't get caught." Balrog chuckled.
"So, there are people working for you sneaking into the Vytal Festival." Cammy suspected as much.
"Oh yeah, I fact, I think you might already know them. Right, Vega?" Balrog asked with a smirk.
"Yes, I believe you are, my bull of a friend. After all, we did put on quite a show for everybody to see." Vega nodded.
In that moment, Cammy started to realize that they are talking about Cinder and her team, meaning they have been working for Shadaloo and possibly Cinder being the attacker of the Fall Maiden this entire time.
"I need to go." Cammy hurried out of the room.
"What's the hurry? Thinking you're going to miss the big event that's about to come?" Vega asked sarcastically and then the two big shots of Shadaloo started laughing together.
"Chun-Li! We have a problem, Cinder and her team are with Shadaloo and I fear they may have already begun their plan!" Cammy left a voicemail for Chun-Li.
"I need to get to the stadium, and fast!" Cammy told the pilot of the small Bullhead who nods.
(Back at Amity Colloseum)
Ruby is feeling very excited to see who is going to fight in this match, but then she notices something off in the distance on the other side of the stadium and couldn't make out at first until she saw the face she recognizes.
"Emerald's… here!" Ruby was surprised to see her here because she and her team were supposed to have gone by now with some Atlas soldiers.
Emerald felt as though something or someone is watching her, she leans forward and narrow her eyes to see who it is. This gave Ruby a bit of a scare and quickly got up from her seat and ran off.
"Oh no, the darkness… I can sense it happening." Menat became worried when she looks into her crystal ball.
Ruby looks around to see there is no one else here and entered a registration area that led her inside the Colosseum.
"(Maybe mom and mom-Raven were on to something about those guys being not who they claim they are.)" Ruby thought was determined to find out what is going on.
"All right, it's now time to begin the randomization process for our next fight!"Oobleck announced.
Ruby was walking to the nearest exit only to stop when she saw another familiar face, one that belongs to Mercury Black, and he is walking again probably with new robotic legs.
"Mercury?" Ruby was confused.
"It looks like our first contender is... Penny Polendina from Atlas..."Port introduced.
"What are you doing?" Ruby asked, getting a really bad feeling about this with Mercury being here.
"And her opponent will be... Pyrrha Nikos from Beacon!"Port revealed. But that made Ruby feel horrible that Pyrrha and Penny putting against each other cannot be a coincidence.
"No!" Ruby realized horribly.
"Ooh, polarity versus metal. That could be bad." Mercury smirked.
Now realizing that Mercury is a bad guy and starting to think about the attack from Balrog and Vega, that must've been planned so that nobody would suspect them.
Ruby quickly took out her Scroll to call her moms and everyone to warn them about this, but the Scroll was shot out of her hand by Mercury's boot.
"Let's keep this between friends." Mercury said sarcastically.
Ruby tries to reach behind her to grab her Crescent Rose, only to feel nothing and realizes that she left it in her locker at school. This means she is gonna have to try fighting him with her own hands that she is still not good with hand-to-hand combat, she at least got some good training in thanks to her family.
"(Penny, I promise I'll save you.)" Ruby thought was determined to stop that fight.
(With Penny and Pyrrha)
Penny and Pyrrha are standing on the same fighting stage as their fight is about to erupt.
"Sal-u-tations, Pyrrha Nikos! It's an honor to finally meet you!" Penny greeted.
"It's nice to meet you too, Penny. I heard about from Ruby, being best friends and all." Pyrrha nodded.
"Oh yes, Ruby is a very trustful friend." Penny smiled proudly.
"Well, I wish you luck in the fight." Pyrrha bowed.
"This is going to be so much fun!" Penny excitedly.
"Sun, something bad is going to happen." Menat warned.
"What do you mean?" Sun asked, then saw the darkness inside her crystal ball that tells him that shit is about to happen soon.
(With Ruby and Mercury)
"Mercury, what are you doing? You were hurt! Why... What's going on?" Ruby demanded, but he's not saying anything.
"Fine. If you're not going to tell me..." Ruby tried to move past him, but he blocks her way and again when she sidesteps.
"Fighters, are you ready?"Oobleck asked.
This only made Mercury smirk that the plan is about to start.
(Back with Penny and Pyrrha)
Penny smiles with excitement while Pyrrha also smiles but also ready herself for anything that this opponent could throw at her. Her team cheering for her from the bleacher while Sun hopes that the darkness isn't about this fight.
"3, 2, 1... BEGIN!" Oobleck declared the start of the fight.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
The single round has begun with Penny and Pyrrha being paired with each other to fight, which is exactly what the bad guys want, now we'll see on how our heroes will react to this and hope they can stop it before it's too late.
