Author's Note: Hey, everybody! As promised, this fanfic as well as the other fanfics in my Young Avengers series, have been updated with one additional chapter each.
First of all, I apologize for keeping everyone waiting. I know you were all eager for me to present these updates, and I had planned to upload them sooner, but there was a technical issue which set me back a couple of days, so I've been working tirelessly this past week in order to get this done before July 10. At last, I am done. Now, this was a rush job, so please forgive me if I make a few errors.
I hope all that's been settled. Enjoy this chapter.
Tony had a free period, so he took the time to get working on his design notebook. He walked through the hallways of SFIT without taking his eyes off of his drawings. He was so captivated by his sketches, he didn't notice Professor Granville until she placed her hand on his head to stop him. He finally looked up at her judging look with Hiro right beside her.
"Mr. Stark, may I remind you to look where you are walking?" Granville asked.
"Are you asking permission?" Tony joked.
"I wouldn't." Hiro said through his gritted teeth.
"Actually, it's good that you almost ran into me." Granville said. "I have a project I'd like you and Mr. Hamada to do with another student."
"What kind of project?" Tony asked.
"I would imagine that two young geniuses surrounded by college students presents certain social and emotional challenges." Granville said.
"I don't have a problem with that." Tony said. "Do you, Hiro?"
"Not me." Hiro said. "But something tells me Granville's going to be determined to do something about it anyway."
"Walk this way." Granville said as she began to walk down the hallway. Tony snickered as he walked in the same way as Granville was. "I saw that, Mr. Stark."
Granville lead Tony and Hiro to a dark lab where they were greeted by a young, teenage girl wearing a surgical mask, goggles, and carrying a large syringe.
"Mr. Hamada, Mr. Stark, meet Karmi." Granville introduced.
The girl removed her facewear giving Tony and Hiro a welcoming smile. "Well, hello there. When Professor G asked me to connect with you, I thought this was going to be super great, and it is. So great. The greatest."
"Wow. Someone's chippier than Honey Lemon." Tony commented. "Um, Professor Granville, why do we have to 'connect' with her? No offense, Karmi."
"None taken." Karmi replied.
"Karmi was the youngest student ever admitted into San Fransokyo Tech." Granville said.
"Until you." Karmi strained to keep her smile up. She clearly had a problem with that.
"So she knows what you're going through." Granville said.
"We're going through something?" Hiro said. "That's news to me."
"Now, you know." Granville said. "Here's what we're going to do."
"We?" Tony asked.
"You. I want you two to 'hang' with Karmi. I think you can learn something from her socialization experience."
"Your project is for us to befriend someone?" Tony asked.
"Yes, as a matter of fact."
"Okay. I can do Thursday morning." Hiro said. "Does that sound to you, Tony?"
"Every day. All week." Granville butted in before Tony could answer. "Keep a journal. I want a full report on Friday. Good day, students." She turned to leave.
"By Professor G. So fun to have a new friend." Karmi smiled until Granville was out of her lab. That's when her act dropped and she turned angrily toward Hiro. "Here's the deal. Stay out of my face. Stay out of my space."
"Uh, what happened to 'hanging'?" Hiro asked.
"Of course, you'd ask that." Karmi said. "You think you're some special white blood cell, but you're nothing but a common red blood cell."
"So… I get the distinct feeling that you already don't like us." Tony said.
"I don't like him." Karmi said pointing at Hiro. "You, I can probably get used to, just as long as you don't become a hindrance."
"Wait. I'm confused." Hiro said. "Shouldn't we get to working on the journal? You know, together?"
"Not my problem. Just make me look good. Now, where was I?" Karmi turned her attention back into her microscope. "Ah, yes. Observing mutated virus. Day 57. Looking good, A1-004."
"You… talk to the virus?" Hiro asked.
"That was a private conversation." Karmi said. "But yes. A1-004 is a dear friend, as are R69-5, L4-382, and 95-414, who I'm still getting to know."
"Hey, I'm no biologist or anything," Tony said, "But should we really be in the same room as a bunch of viruses in petri dishes?"
"It's fine. The petri dishes were especially designed to keep the viruses insulated, but still viable enough to grow." Karmi said. "Though, some of them can be a little feisty. I'm looking at you, X1-315."
"Okay… sure." Hiro said weirded out.
"Oh, so you think talking to viruses is weird. You, the kid who talks to a mechanical snowman." Karmi said. "At least my dangerous, microscopic organisms are actually alive."
"Okay. No judgement." Hiro said.
"And Granville thinks Hiro and I need socialization help?" Tony asked.
Later that night, after putting on their hero suits, Tony patrolled San Fransokyo along with Hiro, Baymax, and Gogo. During the patrol, Hiro wouldn't stop getting frustrated about the day.
"What is Karmi's problem?!"
"Without a thorough scanning, I am unable to determine if she suffers from any health anomalies." Baymax said.
"That's not what Hiro means, Nurse Literal." Tony said. "Karmi has been sour towards us without even knowing us. Well, she's been sour toward Hiro, but she's not exactly the most social girl herself."
"Are you really not getting this?" Gogo asked. "Karmi doesn't have friends. The only thing she had going for her: being the youngest genius at the school. Now, that's your thing. You took her thing, Hiro?"
"I don't want it to be my thing. I want my own thing." Hiro said. "And anyway, why isn't she mad at Tony? He's an underage genius too."
"Tony, what month were you born?" Gogo asked.
"In May."
"Well, that's it then. Karmi was born in August. She's three months younger than Tony. That's why she's harder on you than him."
"That's it? She's mad at me because I'm younger than her, but she's partially okay with Tony just because he's a quarter older than her?" Hiro asked. "That's not fair."
"Hey. It's your fault for applying at SFIT this young, boy genius." Tony said.
"Sir," JARVIS called, "You'll be interested to know that there's an electrical anomaly nine month west."
"You heard the butler voice, team." Tony said. "Let's roll."
When Tony, Hiro, Baymax, and Gogo arrived at the center of the anomaly, they began to witness a most unusual sight. Right before their eyes, there were two girls, a teenager and a middle-aged woman, wearing flashy outfits and dancing in the street. Above where they were dancing, there was a bright-blue orb hovering. It was shooting electricity that moved along with their dancing and singing. And the strangest thing: the crowd that watched were actually cheering while they were using the electricity to drain an ATM of its money.
"Well, there's something I never thought I'd ever see." Tony commented.
"I'm not sure what's going on here," Hiro said, "But you're gonna have to give the money back."
"I'm a star!" the teenager yelled. "You don't interrupt the star when she's leaving it all on the stage!"
"Are we supposed to take that seriously?" Tony asked. "Who are you ladies?"
"I'm Barb!" the older woman introduced herself while striking a pose.
"I'm Juniper!" the teenager did the same.
"And together, we are High Voltage!" they both announced as the floating orb above them created electric sparks that spell out their name.
"Electricity may cause severe burns." Baymax warned.
"I got this." Gogo said. She was about to charge right at them, but she was cut off by a teenage boy who stood in her way. She stopped right before she ran into him. "Hey. Out of the way."
"You can't stop them in the middle of their show! They worked too hard on this!" the boy protested.
"Look, buddy, I don't know what kind of delusional fanboy you are, but…" Tony started to say.
"Fanboy?" the boy gasped. "I'll have you know, 'buddy', that I am not a fan. I am High Voltage's manager."
"You?" Hiro asked.
"Arthur Parks is the name. I provide High Voltage with everything they need, except the skills. Those two brought that all on their own."
"Thanks, Artie!" Juniper called out.
"You do know they're robbing an ATM, right?" Hiro asked.
"No. They're telling a story through dance." Arthur said. "It's their thing."
"I don't have time for this." Gogo said. She skated around Arthur and went after High Voltage, but the dancers shot electric blasts that knocked her down the street.
"Good try. Let me show you how it's done." Tony said as he hovered in the air. He fired his repulsors at the dancers, but they generated an electric shield around them before countering with another bolt that shot him down.
"Nice demonstration." Gogo said sarcastically.
After that, Juniper shot another bolt of lightning that hit Baymax directly. The blast knocked Hiro off and caused Baymax to beep and spasm uncontrollably.
"Oh, no." Baymax said before involuntarily rocketing off the street.
"Ladies, I think it's time we take our leave." Arthur said as he jumped into a nearby car's driver seat. Barb and Juniper followed.
"That was a success!" Juniper cheered. "What do you think, Artie?"
Arthur blushed and chuckled nervously. "Uh, great. It was great. A real spectacle. Now, let's go." He turned the car on and drove right out with High Voltage in the passenger seats. They disappeared leaving a cheering crowd behind them while Tony, Gogo, and Hiro watched with confusion and Baymax flew uncontrollably.
"What the heck was that?" Tony asked.
"They got applause! The bad guys! People clapped for the bad guys!" Hiro informed the rest of the team over lunch at the SFIT mess hall.
"Telling a story through dance." Gogo grumbled.
"The story of kicking our butts." Hiro added.
"Oh, and there's going to be more butt-kicking." Wasabi said. "Why did I choose a yoga elective over martial arts?"
"One: you center yourself. Two: you strengthened your core. And three: you love the big ball." Honey Lemon replied.
"What about the orb thing? The one that was shooting lightning at us." Tony said. "Where did that come from?"
"They probably made it themselves." Fred said.
"'Made it themselves'?" Tony asked. "Fred, no offense, but those people don't exactly strike me as the inventive type."
"That's usually how it works in comic books." Fred said. "Colorful villains underestimated because of their ridiculous personas? Like so many things, it's just like the comics."
"Well, is there a comic book that can help us with this?" Tony asked.
"In this case, there is one in particular. Captain Fancy, issue 188."
"Don't ask. Don't ask. Don't… Fine! And what happened in Captain Fancy?" Gogo asked reluctantly.
"Captain Fancy lost battle after battle to a mother-daughter acrobat team."
"Wow. That is similar." Honey Lemon commented.
"Did they have a floating shock generator too?" Hiro asked.
"Close. They had a trained bear named Grizzlovech."
"How is that close?" Tony asked.
"Speaking of fighting a bear." Hiro sighed spotting Karmi a few tables over working on her notebook. "Come on, Tony."
"Are you sure, Hiro? Don't know if we established this or not, but she's not exactly your biggest fan."
"We don't have a choice." Hiro said. "For some reason, Granville wants us to learn socializing from Karmi, even though it should be the other way around. If we don't fill out the journal by the end of the week, who knows what Granville will do?"
Tony sighed. "All right. Lead on."
Hiro took a breath and approached Karmi with Tony behind him. "Hey, Karmi. Hanging out at the cafeteria too?"
"Uck!" Karmi said in disgust.
"Hmm. Nicer than I expected." Tony said.
"So listen. Granville might be right. Maybe the three of us should…" Hiro stopped himself when he finally noticed what she was drawing.
A whole page on in Karmi's notebook was Hiro in his armored suit. She depicted him as more handsome than he actually was, and she also added little hearts surrounding him.
"Wait. Is that…" Hiro started to ask before Karmi slammed her notebook shut.
"Eyes on your own work, creeper." Karmi said before storming off.
"Well, that just makes it more complicated." Tony commented.
Another night, another patrol. This time, Tony, Hiro, and Baymax were accompanied by Fred, who was carried by the robot.
"I don't get it." Hiro said. "Why would she draw superhero me?"
"Because Iron Hero 7 Hiro is a hero hero, and regular Hiro is just some boring, run-of-the-mill boy genius." Fred said.
"But there is only one Hiro." Baymax said.
"In this dimensional timeline."
"Seriously? You haven't figured it out?" Tony asked. "Clearly, Karmi has a fangirl crush on Hiro's hero persona. But she has no idea that he's the boy she's been dissing for the past half-week."
"Wow. You don't think this is gonna complicate things, do you?" Hiro asked.
"As long as she doesn't know who you are, everything will be fine." Tony said. "You know, aside from the whole 'I hate you for being younger than me' thing."
"May I have your attention?" JARVIS asked through everyone's radios. "High Voltage is attempting another robbery at an armored truck."
"Well, time to cancel their show." Tony said.
Once again, High Voltage was loading bags full of money while the crowd cheered for their dance performance.
"My dreams are coming true." Juniper said. "You hear that, Mama? They love me. They really love me!"
"Us, Juniper. They love us." Barb said with disdain in her tone.
"Easy there, Barb." Arthur said approaching the older dancer. "Don't let that jealousy get the best of you. If you go nuts here and now, we'll lose the fans entirely."
Barb grumbled in response as she proceeded to load the money.
"HEY!" Gogo called out as she appeared with the rest of her team. "You got lucky last time."
"Hey, Juniper!" Arthur called out. "This may require a squat dance!"
"Got it!" Juniper said before dropping with her back down and kicking electric shocks toward the heroes. One of them hit Gogo causing her to trip.
"Probably not a good time right now," Wasabi said, "But your dance moves are perfection."
"She does have my thighs." Barb said before stomping on the ground blasting more electricity at Wasabi making him dance.
"Rubber insulates electricity!" Honey Lemon cried out throwing a chemical ball at High Voltage, but they dodged and Juniper countered with a shock blast right at her. She was knocked back, but thankfully, Fred caught her.
"Ladies, go for the robot! It worked last time!" Arthur advised.
"On it!" Barb said.
High Voltage danced until they built up a big enough electric ball to throw at Baymax. He tried to dodge, but it followed him until it hit him. Once again, Hiro was knocked off, but Tony managed to grab him and lower him to safety.
The power surge that Baymax was experiencing caused him to involuntarily fire his rocket fist down the street. It stopped when it hit a lamppost. It fell over and was about to fall on an unsuspecting teenage girl. Out of instinct, Hiro leaped into action while High Voltage made another getaway. Hiro tackled the girl and pushed her out of harm's way.
"You all right?" Hiro asked until he gasped realizing who it was that he just saved.
It was Karmi, who chuckled in a flustered tone. "I am now." Without warning, she pulled out her phone and took a very close-up picture of her rescuer.
The next day, at SFIT, the group sulked at their usual table.
"Seven to three, and they still kicked our butts." Gogo said.
"I'd call it seven to four. I'm counting that energy orb thing." Honey Lemon said.
"As if losing wasn't enough, Karmi got a good look at my face." Hiro said.
"Tell her you have a clone?" Wasabi asked.
"Wasabi, she's biotech. She'd see right through that." Hiro said.
"I told you that you needed a metal faceplate like I wear." Tony said.
"That's not helping, Tony. We gotta go and convince her to forget about it."
"We?" Tony asked. "No, no, no. Not we. I'm not involved in this. I wasn't the one who screwed up. That's your mess to clean up."
"So what are you gonna do, genius?" Gogo asked.
"What else? I'm gonna upgrade my suit." Tony said. "I already got shocked twice thanks to the Momma Mia girls. I'm sure I can make the right modifications to my suit to make it more shock absorbent."
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CAN'T MODIFY THE SUIT?!" Tony shouted angrily as soon as he returned to his home lab.
"I'm sorry, sir," JARVIS said, "But making a modification to the armor would mean removing some of the more necessary systems to the armor. You'd have to build a whole new armor to have what you want."
"I don't have time for a new armor." Tony said. "High Voltage could be planning their next heist right now. We're already stressed out enough without…"
RIIIIIIIING!
Tony paused when he heard his phone ring. He held it up to see the unknown number. Curiously, he answered.
"Uh, hello."
"Hey, Stark."
"Karmi?" Tony asked. "How'd you get this number?"
"I called your company, and they referred your number." Karmi replied. "Listen. Can you meet me in my lab? There's something I need to talk to you about."
"Um… Okay." Tony said. "Is this about Hiro?"
"Ugh! No way! Why would I want to talk about him?" Karmi asked. "Look, just come to my lab."
"Sssssure." Tony said uncertain of what to say. He then hung up. "That's weird. Karmi called me to her lab, but I don't think she knows that Hiro is part of Iron Hero 7."
"Strange. Think this has anything to do with that journal Professor Granville wanted from you?" JARVIS asked.
"Only one way to find out."
"Let me get this straight. Not only does Fred not have the comic book that supposedly explains how to stop High Voltage, you have to negotiate with someone who he claims is his 'archnemesis'?" Tony asked through his phone while he was walking through the halls of San Fransokyo Tech.
"Yeah. It just got that stupid." Gogo said.
"Right." Tony stopped at the front of Karmi's lab. "Well, I gotta go. Let me know if you find anything."
After hanging up, Tony entered the lab, and found Karmi wearing a hazmat suit while studying a microorganism through a telescope. He approached cautiously.
"Uh, what's up, Karmi?" he asked. "Why are you wearing a hazmat suit if your viruses are insulated?"
"Safety precaution." Karmi said. "Don't worry. Just stay behind the yellow line, and you should be fine."
Tony looked down at his feet seeing a yellow tape right in front of his feet. "I see. So you wanted to talk to me about something? Is this about the journal thing Granville's making us do?"
"No. This is actually important." Karmi said. "You're the CEO of Stark Industries, right?"
"Um, yeah. Why?" Tony asked.
"Well, last night, it occurred to me that it would benefit my research if I would eventually have a fully funded position at Stark Industries."
Stark widened his eyes. "Wait. Did you just call me up here for a job?"
"Well, I'm more expecting an internship," Karmi said, "But basically, yes."
Tony dropped his jaw. "Amazing. To think Granville wants me and Hiro to learn socializing from you."
"Hey, I didn't ask to be part of this." Karmi said removing herself from her microscope. "The only reason I'm doing this is because it's hard to say no to Professor Granville."
"Tell me about it." Tony said. "Still, you don't have to have a poor attitude to Hiro."
"So you're taking his side?" Karmi asked.
"Well, yeah. He's my friend." Tony said. "Don't you think you should make friends too? I mean, the only people you're talking to are bacteria, and they can't talk back."
Karmi frowned. "You wouldn't understand."
Tony was about to say more, but just then, his phone began to ring. He pulled it out of his pocket and answered. "Hello?"
"High Voltage! San Fransokyo Trust! Now!" Wasabi yelled from the other end.
"All right." Tony said before hanging up. "Sorry, Karmi, but this conversation is going to need a rain check. I'm needed elsewhere. But remember, go easy on Hiro. I know it's hard to no longer be the youngest, but don't think that he has it easy." He turned and left. As soon as he did, Karmi looked down to the floor in deep thought.
After putting on his suit, Tony flew over the city to his destination. Along the way, he caught up with Baymax with Hiro on his back.
"Hey. Where were you?" Hiro asked.
"Karmi's lab. Apparently, she wants me to hire her as an intern to Stark Industries." Tony said.
Hiro groaned. "Seriously! What is her deal? I just don't get it! What are we even supposed to learn from Karmi? She talks to viruses. You and me, Tony, we're way better adjusted than she is."
"True." Baymax agreed. "The two of you both have a strong social network for support. Karmi does not."
"So why did Granville…" Hiro started to ask.
"Hold it. We're here." Tony said as they found themselves above the bank.
When the three of them were inside, they found Wasabi and Honey Lemon already in a fight against High Voltage. Juniper struck at a ceiling column, and it collapsed nearly crushing Wasabi. Thankfully, Baymax caught it just in time before throwing it aside.
"Show's over, ladies." Tony said.
"Step off! We're the headliners!" Juniper yelled.
"You heard her!" Arthur shouted. "This last heist will earn us enough publicity for years."
"You seriously need to think about your priorities." Hiro said.
"Juniper, launch! 2, 5, 7, 8!" Barb cried out.
The shock generator that hovered above built up enough charge to Juniper's feet so that it launched her toward Iron Hero 7 like a rocket. Baymax caught her, but she touched him hitting him with another electrical charge causing him to malfunction and pushing Hiro off.
"Tell me you have something in your suit that can help fight them, Tony." Hiro said.
"Sorry. Can't happen." Tony said. "I'd have to make a whole new suit for this dance troupe. Does anyone have the answer?"
"We do!" Gogo yelled as she and Fred joined in from outside. "Fred knows how to beat these dance punks!"
"Actually, I have no idea." Fred said.
"WHAT?!" Gogo yelled. "AAH! You said you got the answer from the comic book!"
"Yeah, to explain Hiro's secret identity situation." Fred replied. "Was I not clear?" He suddenly got his with a lightning bolt sending him crashing back at Gogo.
"This is a disaster." Gogo said.
"Tell me about it."
"So issue 188 didn't tell you anything that would help defeat them?"
"No. Overall, 188 was a letdown. Maybe Richardson did me a favor all those years ago when he cut the power to my house."
Tony's eyes widened when he heard that. "Wait? Cut the power?"
"Yeah. I was gonna buy 188 at an online auction, but Richardson cut the power to my house at the last second and got the comic book instead. I couldn't prove it, but I know he did it."
"That's not the point!" Tony said. "I think I got an idea! Gogo, Honey Lemon, we're going to need you two!"
After Tony explained his plan, the two put it into action. First, Honey Lemon gave Gogo a handful of rubber balls. They used four of those balls to cover Gogo's wheels in insulation. She then grabbed the last two and skated toward High Voltage. They tried to blast her again, but she shielded herself with her wheels. She leaped over them and clapped both rubber balls in her hands to completely over the electric orb that used to hover. Now that it was covered, not only was it unable to float, but High Voltage couldn't generate any electricity anymore.
"Use a catchphrase!" Fred called out. "Say a dumb line like it's a joke, even though it's not a joke!"
"Last dance, freaks!" Gogo yelled.
"Good one!" Fred laughed.
"Escape dance, Juniper!" Barb instructed. But as soon as she and her daughter began dancing their way to the exit, Honey Lemon threw an insulation bomb at her. She was trapped in a cocoon with only her head exposed. "Juniper!"
"Sorry, Mama! I'm going solo! Well, solo with Artie, at least! Wait, where's…" Juniper was caught off by Baymax, who grabbed her with both his hands.
"My system has been restored." Baymax said once Honey Lemon cocooned Juniper too. "Is anyone hurt? Has I missed anything of significance."
"We're all good, Baymax." Hiro said.
"NOT FOR LONG!" Arthur yelled just as he ran right past Gogo. He swiped the orb from her and ripped the insulation off. "JUNIPER! I GOT THE ORB! WE CAN NOW…"
"Oh, no, you don't!" Tony said as he fired his repulsor at his direction.
Out of instinct, Arthur raised the orb to protect himself, but once it was hit, the orb let out a large, electric explosion. Everyone stepped back to avoid the shocks, but Juniper gasped in surprise.
"ARTIE!" she yelled. When the explosion was over, Arthur Parks was laying on the ground spasming uncontrollably. Parts of his body had electric shocks flowing over them.
"Baymax, will he be all right?" Hiro asked.
"With the right treatment, he'll be right as rain." Baymax said. "I am making a call for an ambulance."
"And while you're at it, call the police too." Tony said.
Juniper looked back at Arthur with the most worried eyes. "Oh, Artie. Please, be all right."
Now that all that was settled, there was one last thing that needed to be taken care of.
"Fred, secret identity." Hiro said. "What have you got?"
"Ah, yes. You see, Captain Fancy's also ego, Lash Looper, may look like Captain Fancy in a sweater vest, but nobody ever recognizes him, not even ace reporter Rita Rampart."
"And that's supposed to explain why Karmi can't see me as hero Hiro?"
"Yeah. It's a superhero thing. People see…"
"…What they want to see." Hiro told Professor Granville as he, Tony, and Karmi met up at her office on Friday morning. "When people look at me, what do they see? A robotics major, a teen genius, or maybe just a guy trying to fit in."
"Same with me." Tony said. "I'm a genius, a billionaire, and a philanthropist. But I'm also trying to fit in."
"That's what Karmi saw, and we thank her for that." Hiro said.
"Karmi?" Granville asked.
Karmi was surprised. She had expected something bad, but this was the last thing she thought she'd hear. "I… I don't know what to say."
"'Cause you're modest that way." Hiro said. "Professor, Karmi was great this week. I learned a lot."
"I'm happy to hear it." Granville said. "Dismissed."
Karmi proceeded to leave the office, but Hiro and Tony stayed for one last private conversation.
"This was never about me or Hiro, was it?" Tony asked.
"We are through here."
"It was actually about Karmi." Hiro guessed. "Am I right?"
"I said, we are through." Granville repeated. Though, she did give a small smile as soon as they exited the office.
Once they left, Karmi was waiting for them. "You could've sold me out in there, Hamada, but you didn't. You got it bad for me, don't you?"
"I do not have it…" Hiro gritted his teeth before calming down. "It's just that Granville's right. We have a lot in common. The age thing. The genius thing. I'm just saying, even though it's a process, we could be friends."
"Told you to give him a chance." Tony said.
Karmi dropped her condescending smile and looked down in deep thought again. Just then, her phone let out a notification sound and she immediately pulled it out of her pocket. She caught a news article about Iron Hero 7's successful fight against High Voltage.
"High Voltage's rhythmic reign of terror became a reign of error when the mother-daughter duo ran into Iron Hero 7. Their accomplice, teenage electrician specialist, Arthur Parks, has been electrocuted and brought over to the hospital with a suspended trial until his recovery. In the meantime, High Voltage will be in maximum security prison."
But as soon as Hiro's hero image appeared on the screen, she paused the broadcast and zoomed in towards it. She swooned with a smile on her face. "I wish he were here."
"Seriously?" Hiro asked.
Back in her office, Granville pulled out a clipboard from her desk with a piece of paper attached to it. The paper had a list of names, including Tony, Hiro, and Karmi's, each of which had a check mark written next to them. There were other names on the list below them, which included…
"Amadeus Cho
Peter Parker
Riri Williams
Leo Fitz
Jemma Simmons"
"Well, it's good to know that there is the possibility that Hiro, Tony, and Karmi can work well together." Granville said. "Now, all that's left is to see what the rest of the young geniuses on this list are capable of."
Author's Note: As I'm sure you're aware, I had to change a certain Karmi scene above. It's mainly because I didn't see any other way to include Tony, especially in the canon scene. Well, that's about it. Any and all comments are welcome.
