Ok guys, the website is still being a dick so we all have to deal with the crappy glitches
Diana let out a small sigh as she leaned back in her chair just outside the large windows of the small café in downtown Fukuoka she had a half-drunk cup of tea in front of her as she waited for her guest, who of course was as late as always. She shouldn't be surprised, Diana could never bend those habits out of her, even with the two years of her being her sidekick. Some people just didn't change, not that there was anything really wrong with that, it was just annoying.
She took another sip, resisting the urge to check or text Kon to see how he was doing. They hadn't really talked since the Watch Tower, and it was grating on her nerves more than she would like. The only conversation they've had was the odd message, and she gave him all she knew about warriors' madness. Oh, how she cursed the gods' names for leaving him to live with such a shadow over him.
Before she could go down that particular rabbit hole, another rabbit landed near the sidewalk with a heavy thud that dented the concrete and caused the nearby people to look on with worry but that quickly ceased when it became clear who she was, Mirko the number six hero in the country in full costume. Que another sigh escaped her lips as the rabbit hero made her way over towards her with a shit-eating grin on her face 'Why do I bother with disguises when it comes to her' she thought to herself despite her neat clothes, hat and sunglasses. Any chance of not being recognised was about to go out the window now that they were seen together.
She gave it a couple of minutes before people made the connection and then maybe ten before news crews showed up. After all, it wasn't hard to figure out that the dark-haired young-looking woman sitting across from her was her former mentor Wonder Woman "Hey girl, been a while" she said as she pulled out the chair and quickly leaned back, kicking her feet up on the table, though not before taking a big gulp of the pint that Diana had waiting for her.
"Miriko, you're late" she said back, immediately going back into her old teacher tone of voice.
The former sidekick gave her a shrug "People needed help on the way here" she said back placing her hands behind her head.
"You went looking for trouble on the way here because you were bored" she immediately corrected.
The rabbit hero gave her a shrug "They still needed help. Anyway, what's up, I haven't heard from you in a while" she asked, ignoring the people that were taking out their phones and starting to take pictures and record them.
"I need a favour" she said back, leaning forward and placing her hands on the table "I assume you know what's been going on?" she asked already knowing the answer.
Mirko let out a quick laugh "Everyone knows what's been going on, that kid of yours did good work. A bit too bloody for my tastes but no denying how good he was at it" he said casually "I know you and Kal taught him a thing or two, but I didn't think you'd take it that far"
It was true that both she and Kal had taught Kon how to fight, but that was not an option. Even if he didn't want to be a hero, he needed to know how to defend himself, that was just a hazard of growing up in their family "You know that's not what happened" she said back firmly and with a frown.
The tone made the rabbit hero still for a moment and lower her feet off the table "I didn't know, but I did suspect it. I thought that it wasn't possible" she said confirming that she knew about the warrior's madness.
"It shouldn't have been, but it happened and now I need to figure out what to do next," she said before taking another sip of her tea, not wanting to get too worked up over it all.
The rabbit hero gave her an odd look "What do you mean 'figure it out'? You know what you have to do, he needs to go to Themyscira"
The world's number one let out another sigh "That's the one place he can't go, he refuses"
"He doesn't have a choice, you know how dangerous it is if he doesn't work on it" she reasoned, confused as to why they were even having this conversation.
"I'm well aware" she snapped back before she could stop herself "It doesn't matter what reasons I give or how much I warn him, he will not go back and I can't force him to, if it's forced it won't work"
Mirko ignored the snappy tone, having gotten used to it a long time ago "Why doesn't he want to go back anyway?" she asked.
She looked at her confused for a moment "You don't know?" she asked, sure she would already be aware.
All she got was a shrug in return "Course not, you know they don't talk to me since I left, three years of hard work and they just toss me out because I refuse to give up some dick. All that gotta be pure bullshit, you know how it is. So what did they do to the kid?" She asked already knowing it was the Amazons that did something and not Kon.
Diana shouldn't be surprised, Mirko was one of the few who were allowed permission to train on Themyscira, and she had an understanding of the Amazons and their ways, which was better than any outsider. It was the reason Diana met her in the first place and what led to her being taken on as a sidekick when she was forced to leave. The Amazons were dogmatic in their beliefs and when Mirko refused to pretend she wasn't straight or go celibate to please them she left and Diana found her just before she did, finding her commitment to her own beliefs inspiring, reminding her a lot of herself.
So, naturally, it was easy enough for her to figure out that Kon did nothing wrong to cause a rift between him and her people. The question though caused her to flinch as she remembered what happened that night.
Something that Miriko noticed "Oh, that bad," she said before taking another drink nearly finishing the pint.
"Bad enough that he refuses to go back and I can't blame him, if this never came up I doubt he would ever even hear an argument for going back," she said back sombrely, she tried not to let it bother her but it does hurt that her son hates her people so much and it hurt her even more knowing that her people would do what they did to her child.
"So why am I here?" Miriko asked her.
"You're the only one I know who's in the real world and has experience with Warriors Madness. I need you to take him in" Miriko was about to open her mouth to protest but Diana didn't let her "The sports festival is coming up and he needs somewhere to intern anyway"
"I don't do rookies, Diana, they slow me down" she protested, all but ready to stand up and leave "Besides, he's going to get offers from the best heroes in the world, why would he come for with even if I did offer?" she asked trying to find some excuse to get out of it.
"He'll pick you because he's not stupid," she said back "He knows you used to be my sidekick, he knows you spent time on Themyscira, he knows you know our ways and finally he knows how much danger he's in" she leaned forward and looked the rabbit hero in the eyes "He's scared of what he might do if he snaps again and he does want help to control it. He just can't get it from the Amazons" she explained.
Miriko frowned as she looked at her old mentor before leaning in herself, the chatter around them was getting louder and louder as the crowd started to grow, people would be moving in to request autographs soon and then they would be out of time "Why not do it yourself?" she asked back.
Diana didn't answer for a moment, she looked back at her and didn't answer "We're aren't in a good place right now, I pushed too hard to get him to go to Themyscira and now he's barely talking to me" she looked down as she said it, she knew Kon still loved her but this rift between them wasn't going to heal anytime soon "Besides, despite what it will be about it's still a hero internship, he needs to prove he can do it without going off to his mommy" she finished before a small chime sounds and she looked down to her watch.
She was running out of time "I need to get back to the Watch Tower" she said before she stood up and stepped around the table, the flashes from phones only got quicker as she did so "I know you don't want to, but you will because you owe me one" she placed a hand on her shoulder "Good seeing you" she said before shooting up into the air so quickly that a small gust of wind knocked people back slightly.
Miriko stayed there for a moment before her head fell back "Fuck" she groaned.
"So, you don't regret what you did?" Houndog asked as he leaned back in his chair, keeping his notepad in front of him as he looked across the room to Kon who was sitting there calmly.
"No…... I just…" he stammered his response.
"Take your time, you'll get there," he said back quickly with a small growl.
Kon was silent for a moment as he thought about what he should say "I regret losing control as I did, I regret that I wasn't able to keep my classmates safe because I was so focused on fighting. When I look back, the people I killed aren't something I'm concerned with" he said bluntly.
He wrote down a couple of notes "You don't think that's odd, that someone who wants to be a hero is so callus about taking lives?" he asked.
He didn't answer for a moment "No" he said quickly "Because I don't feel like that was me. I felt like a passenger in my own body, I don't feel bad because I feel like I wasn't the one who did it. Am I explaining this right?" he asked sounding unsure of himself.
"I understand what you're saying" Houndog confirmed "You think that because you weren't in control of your actions, you're free of feeling guilt for them" he summed up for him.
Kon tilted his head and frowned slightly "I don't think, I know I wasn't in control. How can I blame myself if I can barely remember it?" he asked.
"I'm not saying you should blame yourself," he said back.
"It sounds like you are" Kon interrupted him with a frown on his face and a defensive tone of voice.
"Then let me explain" Despite his outward appearance, he was very calm as he spoke "My job here is to make sure you're sound of mind and I can't do that unless we cover all the bases. I will challenge you on everything you say to see if you believe it, I need to know that you will be ok and I can't say that you are if you doubt or lash out when questioned" he explained and thankfully for him, Kon seemed to understand "Now tell me. Do you feel that you are free from guilt because you weren't in control?" he asked.
The young man was silent for a moment as he thought about the question this time "Yes" he said standing by what he said early "But only this once, this once when I had no idea what was happening. If it happens again then I don't have the excuse of being surprised by something that hasn't happened before" he elaborated.
"I see," he wrote down more notes "So if it happens again and you do lose control, you will feel bad because you don't have the excuse?" he asked.
"Yes"
"So, what if you killed your classmates?" Kon stilled at the question "If you killed your friends while you were in this madness, would you feel guilty then?"
There was a silence that spread between the two of them, Kon moved his head from one side to another like he was looking for some answer that would help but Houndog just sat there and waited, it wasn't until a full minute later that he spoke up "Why would you ask me that?"
"Because I want to know the answer?" his response was quick and calm.
He looked right into the teacher's eyes for a moment "Yes, I would feel guilty" he admitted.
"All right then, now that we've established that the lives you took do have to scale to you. We can talk about that?"
"What the hell does that mean? I'm not weighing lives against each other" he denied going back on the defensive.
"You just did, you said you didn't feel guilty before but now when your classmates would have been killed you claim that you would have done" he started to explain "Meaning that to you, the lives of the villains you killed mean less to you then your friends if you killed them instead"
He stared back open-mouthed for a few moments "Yes, of course, I value them more. Why wouldn't I?"
"You wouldn't" he shook his head "No one would, it's perfectly normal to feel the value of some lives is more important than others" he confirmed but that only seemed to confuse him more.
"So, what's the issue?" he asked.
"The issue isn't that you value some lives over others, the issue is that you feel no guilt over them. I and many other heroes would choose to save the civilians over villains if we couldn't do both but we would still feel guilty if they lost their lives because of our choice" he explained calmly as he wrote down some notes "The fact that you don't feel guilt could just be because, as you said this madness caught you by surprise and you couldn't have prepared for it. But you also said you would have felt guilty if you killed your classmates, though the circumstances wouldn't have changed. It still would have caught you by surprise and you still couldn't have prepared for it"
"What are you saying?" he asked far too calmly with a face as emotional as his looked "That I just don't feel bad for them because… what? I just don't?" there was an air of unease around him as he spoke.
"I'm not saying that. I'm saying that's what you're describing" Houndog said "Is it true? Be honest with yourself if not me, do you really care?"
"YES!" Kon shouted shooting to his feed, which got a small reaction from the teacher who jumped slightly at his outburst but composed himself quickly enough "Why wouldn't I? Why would I not care?!"
The teacher gave him a small shrug "You tell me" he said to him.
Kon rolled his eyes at him "If you think I killed those people for shits and giggles then why am I still here?" he asked.
"Remember what I just said," he said back "I'm not accusing, I'm going to question everything you tell me and right now this is what it sounds like. I just want to know why"
"Because I…" he started but stopped himself before he could "No, no. I've had enough" he stood and made his way out of the room. He opened the door and stopped when he saw a grumpy-looking Bakugo ready to make his way in the room "Hey" was all he gave the blonde before marching past him and closing the door.
Houndog let out a sigh as he didn't stop him from leaving, he really should have done so as now he had an annoying choice to make. As of this moment, he wasn't sure if Kon was sound enough to keep going to classes as normal, it was possible that he really just didn't care about the lives he took. From what he saw that was most likely the case but based on this emotional outburst, he knew it himself and didn't like it which meant that there was something he could do to change his mind. Help him realise that what he did was wrong, he was in school after all, and that's what he was here for, to learn.
If he reported what he has now then there's a good chance he would be kicked out and in truth, he didn't think that would help at all, in fact, he thought it could make it ten times worse. For now, he would keep this to himself and schedule another meeting next week.
Kon was tense as he made his way down the halls of U.A towards the training field that he and Bakugo used the other day, something that others may have picked up on based on the looks he was given by other students who also gave him a wide birth as he moved past them. Though in truth he barely noticed them, his mind too busy being angry about what Houndog had said 'It wasn't true, he didn't want to kill those people, it was the madness, and I lashed out. So what if I don't feel bad? Why would I?' he thought to himself as he started to go over the meeting again in his head, getting angrier and angrier. He didn't even notice the light hue of blue that came to his eyes before vanishing.
He could only hope that Kirishima had done some work on his hardening because he really needed to let off some steam and he was the only one he knew that might be able to take a punch. At least within close proximity. As he went onto the ground floor and entered the corridor that had a wall made of glass to act as a large window of the field, he was surprised to see so many there.
After the other day when Nejire gave them some tips on how to improve, he imaged that Bakugo, Ida, Kirishima, Sato and Sero would come again to start training but he found himself surprised to see that it wasn't just them but everyone. The entire class of 1-A was training on the field in one way or another saw some doing laps, others push-ups, some just using their Quirks as best as they were able while a handful were sitting on a bench near the window further down looking like they just ran a marathon.
When he reached the halfway point of the corridor he turned left to where a large set of double doors were wide open, allowing him to step right onto the grass and see it all up close. Only for Mineta to land on the ground with a heavy thud, digging a ditch into the ground with the force of the landing and the smoke coming off of him gave Kon a good idea of what happened.
He stepped over the groaning purple ball-haired classmate and made his way over towards the bench and saw Uraraka hunched over with a bad-smelling bucket of vomit in front of her that shined like rainbows for some reason, Jiro who was holding two different ice packs to her ears at the same time who was also trying not to laugh at Kaminari who upon seeing Kon gave him two thumbs up and really stupid look. In the end, there was Aoyama who didn't look any better than Uraraka, cradling his stomach like it just got kicked "Hey guys" he said as he made his way over.
All four heads turned to look at him but it was only Jiro who could answer as the others were in no state too "WHAT!" she shouted.
Kon pinched his lips and tried not to laugh at the situation, he settled for just giving her a small wave before putting his bag down near the bench and tossing his U-A jacket off with it. Only in his shirt, he started to make his way over towards the others who were still working. Namely, Kirishima who was standing as still as possible while Sato punched him over and over again, he made sense "Oh hey, look who's out of therapy" he teased as the two stepped back from each other, the redhead unhardened his body and winced at the bruises that were already starting to form and Sato stepped flexing out his hands and rubbing his knuckles "You just missed Bakubro" he added.
"First of all, love that" he said about the nickname "And I know, I saw him on the way here. How are you all doing?" he asked.
"Pretty good" Sato said as he flexed his arms "That Nejire girl really knows her stuff" he nodded off to the side and Kon looked to see that Ida, Deku and Momo were sitting near the wall covered in sweat going over notes "when we told them what she told us they've been coming up with different plans for training and diets and stuff"
Kon had to admit that he was a little impressed, sure the festival is important and all that but he assumed that they would take a break before getting this deep into it, or at least not go so far down the deep end right at the start. That was when he noticed Deku a little more "Is his hand broken?" he asked narrowing his eyes as he looked and a deep purple bruise covering the whole thing.
"Yeah," Kirishima said with a nod.
"Didn't go to Recovery Girl because…..?" he trailed off.
"No idea" Sato added as he stepped closer "I gotta admit though I think you were right about Deku, that pain tolerance of his is through the roof" he commented.
"Yeah, I do hope he gets it fixed at some point. Pretty sure something could go wrong if he doesn't get it looked at" the redhead said as he crossed his arms, wincing as he did so.
Something Kon noticed, that was when a thought occurred to him, about how overworking wasn't really a good thing and sometimes taking a break can really help someone's mind recover and allow their body some time to grow. Something he felt he needed as well, not for his body but for his mind, he needed a break from all this public and reputation and fear of himself "We need a break" he mumbled to himself as he noticed that the rest of glass didn't look so good.
Sure, they looked good from a distance but now that he's up close. They all looked like they were about to pass out, they were overdoing it "What did you have in mind" Sato said as he started to do some light stretches "It's not like there's a lot of things we can do" he added.
Wasn't that a kick in the teeth, they were still students so a break would normally mean going home early or walking around the city shopping, maybe playing some sports or something but they needed to get away from physical activity "A party" he said as he looked at the other two "I'll throw a party at my place" he said sounding more and more pleased with the idea.
"A party," Kirishima said with a grin "I like the sound of that. Some crappy food, video games, movies….."
"No" Kon shook his head before he could elaborate "A real party, some music, I could get a bar set up so we could drink and yes some crappy food" he added looking at the other two who seemed less sure than before.
"Err….." Sato scratched the back of his head "I don't know Kon, we're all students and underage" he started.
"Yes, but you're all overworked and nervous and we all need a break," he said looking around at the rest of them "This will be a good chance to blow off some steam before the festival and besides, it's not like we're going to be snorting coke or some shit, just a couple of drinks, music, food and maybe some dancing" the more he spoke, the more open to the idea they seemed to be.
"Did I hear party?" a voice said from nearby and the three turned to see Mina, Tsu, Shoji and Sero make their way over to them "You're hosting a party?" she asked looking at Kon.
He nodded back "Yeah, I think we all need some time to have fun. We've had time off, but I know I haven't had any fun since the USJ and since you guys have been pushing yourselves so hard it seems like a good idea. You in?" he asked.
"Hell yeah, I'm in" she cheered and the nodding from other members of the group had him confident that this could work out well.
"Great" he pulled out his phone "I'll put it in the group chat now" he started to type away "Oh, I'll need to head out and buy some stuff now. I'll text you guys my address and a time to come down" he gave them one last smile before smiling at everyone. He started to make his way back towards the door leading into the school "Everyone! Party at my place tonight!" he shouted as he turned around and got the attention of everyone else who either barely looked up from half-passed-out eyes that quickly widened or just stopped the work out altogether "Check the chat" he said waving his phone before leaving.
As he did so all heads turned to see their phones and found the address of his apartment and looked on with a mix of different emotions.
"So, are you guys going?" Jiro asked as she clipped the bra on after drying off from her shower.
"Of course," Mina said wiping herself down with her towel, trying her best to stop herself from being completely naked in front of the others, who were doing the same "I've been looking forward to the first U.A party since I got accepted" she added with a bright smile "shame I couldn't host but it'll be fine"
"Don't you think it seems a little…" Uraraka started but struggled to find the right words as she pressed the buttons on her shirt. "Rushed," she said.
"A little," Momo agreed as she moved through the changing room, a towel wrapped around her as she just left the shower. "But he's not wrong. We have been stressed lately, and it would be good to have some fun together before the festival," she added.
"And the drinking" Tsu said after a moment "We are underaged" she pointed out.
"Yeah, but we don't have to if we don't want to" Toru said as her towel dropped to the ground but that got no reaction as she was always naked "Besides, you really telling me you've never had a drink before? Not even once?" she teased.
Tsu stared back at what she assumed was the head "Ribbit" was all she said as she tried to look away.
"Ha, I knew it," Mina said as she leaned back and looked at the others "I mean come on, this is the first time the class will be doing something outside of school together, it's important," she said as she grabbed her phone "and Kon said he wants us there for six"
"Will your parents all be ok with this?" Uraraka asked as she stood up and grabbed her bag.
"Yeah," Jiro said as she started to put her shirt on "We've been attacked by villains, we want to do this for a living. If they can't handle us staying out late after dark, then what are they doing letting me come to U.A?" she reasoned.
"That's true" Momo agreed "My parents will be fine so long as they know where I am" she gave the other girl a reassuring smile "It will be fine" she added before turning to get changed.
Kon hummed to himself as he carried bags down the street towards his apartment, each one full of beer and spirits. This was his third trip of the day, getting everything they needed for the night. He didn't know what everyone drank, and he doubted that they knew themselves, so he got a little of everything, he had to admit he was a little nervous. This was the first time he was hosting something like this, and he wanted it to go well, this was about him being able to enjoy himself as much as the others, so he needed to get everything set up properly.
His apartment wasn't the biggest in the city, but it should be big enough for everyone to get into with some room for moving around, talking, drinking and maybe a little dancing as well, assuming he could get them tipsy enough to do it. Around ninety-nine percent of people in clubs and bars, wouldn't touch the dance floor if they were completely sober, not that he was planning on getting everyone completely drunk. There was a reason he was the one acting as bartender for this, he didn't know how much experience they all had with beer but he wasn't taking chances.
Turning into the building he made his way up the elevator to the apartment. It was a good size, the top floor of the building and a little fancier than he was hoping for when he came to Japan, but his mom had said that she would only let him go if he got a place with good enough security. So, this place being just shy of penthouse size was enough for her.
The elevator opened up into the main living room, which was quiet and spacious. It had a kitchen with an island counter on the left, a balcony on the far wall, and a corridor on the right that led to the bathroom and bedroom. It would certainly do the trick. Looking down at his watch, he had a couple of hours to make sure everything was ready. "Let's get started," he said aloud before getting to work.
Kon stepped out of the shower and moved into his bedroom, which was connected to the bathroom. With just a towel around his waist and steam coming from the door behind him, he stepped towards his bedside table and grabbed his phone. Not surprised to see it has blown up, more specifically the class 1.A group chat.
Mina: can't wait to get started, I need something to wear
Red Riot: Ah man, we need to dress up for this?
Tape Man: Yeah, I got nothing to wear. Also, Red Riot? That's new.
Red Riot: Yeah, that's my Superhero name. I've known that since I was little.
Tsu: I wish I knew what I wanted to be called, I need to think of something.
Sato: Still thinking of one myself, I was thinking Sugar King.
[Mina has changed Sato to Sugar King]
Mina: let's see how it feels
Sugar King: Sure, why not
Momo: I don't think we need to worry about clothes, right?
Jiro: Why do I have the feeling that you're staring at some really high-end dress and some jeans and shirt at the same time?
Momo:….. No, I'm not.
[Mina has changed Momo to Pants of Fire]
Pants on fire: I'm not, Mina change that back.
Uraraka: I hope my parents let me go, it sounds like it could be fun.
Ida: Indeed, this is a good moment for team building. We shouldn't miss this unless we have to.
Shocker: It took some convincing but my folks are ok with me going, this is going to be so fun.
Mineta: Yeah, we'll play some fun games.
Jiro: no.
Mine: no.
Momo: absolutely not.
Invisible girl: I'll kill you both
Mineta: You guys didn't even know what we were going to say.
Red Riot: We all know what you were going to say.
Superboy: You try any of that shit, I throw you off the balcony. Also hi everyone.
Mina: Hey there Mr Host,
Red Riot: Hey man.
Ida: Kon, thank you for inviting us all, I'm sure it will be fun and good for team building.
Superboy: No problem and don't worry about clothes, this is a casual thing between friends. Wear whatever you want, also 'Superboy?' Really?
Mina: What? I think it's cute
Jiro: Yeah, it suits you so well.
Superboy: Change it.
Mina: Fine, how about…
[Mina has changed Superboy to Mr. Party Host]
Mr. Party Host: that'll do, anyway, I need to get changed. I'll see you all soon. Has anyone bailed on the invite yet?
Momo: Not that I know of.
Red Riot: I haven't heard of anything yet.
Tape man: Oh yeah, Todorioki wasn't outside training when you told everyone and he's not in the group chat so he has no idea. Same with Bakugo.
Dark Bird Man: I apologies but I too will be unable to attend as I have dinner plans with family.
Mr. Party Host: Sorry to hear that, we'll catch you at the next one. It's a shame about Bakugo and Todorioki but we'll make sure they come to the next one as well. I have to get dressed, I'll see you all when you get here.
Kon smiled as he opened the door for Ida, Deku and Uraraka to step through. They were some of the last to arrive "Hey guys, come on in" he said as he stepped aside and allowed them all to step on through, Ida moved in well enough but Deku and Uraraka seemed to have a nervous edge to them "Glad you could make it" he smiled as he stepped past them and towards the kitchen counter.
The party was in full swing, some guys were talking on the couch and laughing, Mina was dancing and trying to get some of the other girls to join her and he saw some on the balcony talking as well "Can I get you guys a drink?" he offered as he started to grab some glasses.
Deku looked like a deer in headlights "Oh err….. I have no idea" he admitted as he blushed and scratched the back of his head. Uraraka didn't look much better, Kon wasn't too surprised. Most in the class weren't heavy drinkers or anything but they had a basic idea of what they wanted, which was why despite most of them having a glass or a can in their hands, they hadn't drunk much of them yet.
Kon smiled at the two "Ok" he smiled as he grabbed two glasses and put some ice in them. They both watched as he grabbed a bottle of vodka and poured a small amount into each glass and then drowned it in orange juice "This is probably the best way to start" he smirked at the two as he handed them the glasses which both took a moment before taking one, Deku had a little bit of trouble because of his broken hand in a cast but he got there "Don't worry" he said noticing their nerves "You're not going to get drunk from just that, hell I doubt you'll even feel it unless you have a couple more" that seemed to calm them down and he turned to the class rep "What can I get you Mr president?" he asked.
Ida let out a small chuckle at the nickname before responding "Just a beer please" he said quickly.
Kon smiled but also raised an eyebrow as he turned around and grabbed a can. Both Deku and Uraraka after clinking their glasses together and taking a very hesitant sip and then calming down after realizing it tasted like juice and not acid also turned to look at him with a shocked look. Seeing their gazes he elaborated "I sometimes share a drink with my brother, my parents don't like it when I do but it's something we do, and I enjoy it very much" he said as he opened his can and took a big gulp "Lucky that you got a brand I like"
"Holy shit" a voice said from behind the trio and they all turned to see Kirishima wearing some shorts and a T-shirt smiling at Ida "Our class rep is a badass" he cheered with a bright smile.
"Who would have thought" Mina added from the small dancefloor and most of the class turned to look at him.
"haha" Sato said from the door leading to the balcony "Well I'm not gonna let Ida show me up" he cheered as he took another big gulp from his own beer.
It went without saying that Ida! the biggest stickler from the rules being able to out-drink all of them did something to the male ego "Keep it calm Sugar King" Kon said from his spot behind the counter, he was smiling but there was also a warning in their as well "The last thing I need is the media running with stories of me trying to get the class drunk"
Sato lowered the can and raised it in a toast to him before swallowing a large gulp "No worries Mr. Party Host"
Over the next ten minutes, the class started to settle into a fun time, some coming up for another drink, which he gave of course, no one was getting drunk after one beer. Kon smiled at the sight, he was happy that everyone was having fun and in truth, he was as well. It was good that they could all hang out with each other after school, though it did suck that not everyone could make but he would make sure they would next time.
Deciding that it was time for him to have his own drink, Kon kneeled behind his counter and opened a cupboard door to reveal a small wooden keg. Small enough to fit under his arm, a gift from his mom when he moved as a type of going away present and a small nod to the time they shared their first drink. Pulling it up and placing it on the counter with a light thud, he was surprised to see that Momo was standing there with an empty glass "What is that?" she asked as she leaned forward and crossed her arms, for one small fraction of a second Kon looked at her and admitted she looked great, a tight pair of jeans and a white blouse that did a good job of outlining her breasts.
Thankfully he wasn't so bad that he couldn't turn his eyes away from her chest and quickly looked back up at her eyes "This" he patted the wood "Is Amazon Mead. A gift from Mom before I moved here" he explained as he took a glass and opened the tap, pouring himself an old fashioned.
"Your mother gave you alcohol as a gift?" she asked with a smirk as looked at the orange liquid in his glass.
He laughed slightly at her wording "Yeah, I guess it sounds a bit strange but the Amazons are a…." The mirth and humour left his face immediately after he thought about his mom's extended family, something Momo noticed and that was when he figured out the angry look that must have spread onto his face, which is something he didn't want "doesn't matter. Anyway, what can I get for you?" he said taking the glass from her hand and setting it down.
She let the smile fall back on her face "No chance I can try that?" she asked nodding towards the mead.
He shook his head "Sorry, but this stuff is just for me. Not because I don't like sharing but if you drank this it would just melt your liver" he explained but couldn't help but wonder if something was off with her, she just finished her second glass and it hasn't even been an hour yet "Another wine" he offered.
"Please," she said nodding to the bottle of red in the middle of the table surrounded.
"Are you okay?" he asked as he grabbed her glass and started to pour for her.
"What do you mean?" she asked with a small frown.
He offered her a shrug "I just… you seem a little…" he struggled to find the right word.
Her frown deepened "What?" she asked, almost sounding a little defensive.
"I just didn't think you would be such a wine lover" he said with a casual smile trying to sound joking, he didn't want her to seem like he was accusing her of something.
If she didn't believe that then she didn't show it, it took her a moment before looking at the glass that he offered before taking it "My family had to attend many different functions with others of a….. high class" she said with a small frown at that last word, clearly not happy with the wording "drinking was standard in those meetings, I couldn't stand the people I had to speak with but I admit I did start to enjoy the taste of a good wine" she said before taking a sip "Which this is not" she joked earning a small laugh from Kon.
"Momo" he said leaning forward on the counter and matching her own stance "Are you okay?" he asked seriously as he grabbed his own glass.
She looked defensive at the question again but when she saw the serious expression on his face, it softened slightly. She let out a small sigh and leaned down on the counter, looking like she was sinking in on herself and her mind snapped back to USJ, to what that man wanted to do to her "No" she admitted "Are you?" she asked back.
He looked down for a moment before quickly looking back at her, only not noticing how close their faces were. He wanted to deny it, to say that he was fine but the more he tried the more he thought about what Houndog said, about how what he might have just wanted to do "No" he admitted with a small head shake.
She didn't say anything, just kept looking back at him. There was a moment, Kon noticed it, it was small but it was there, her eyes moved down and looked at his lips, it was a quick moment but it was there. He couldn't stop himself from doing the same.
Then it was his senses, for the first time in a while. His senses acted without him meaning to do it, he could feel the vibrations of her skin in the air, he could hear her heartbeat start to increase and he could taste her breath "Hey guys" The two quickly moved away from each other with wide eyes and Kon quickly turned to see Mina wrap an arm around his neck "Stop hanging around near the kitchen guys, come on. Let's play a game" she said looking right at Momo.
Both Kon and Momo's faces turned bright red before quickly taking a sip from their drinks "Su….." Kon squeaked before stopping and coughing, clearing his throat "Sure" he said as he let the pink-skinned girl drag him away and towards the large group of his classmates. Momo took a moment, taking a couple of deep breaths with wide eyes, she licked her lips before turning back to the class and moving forward herself.
Ok guys, we shall leave it there and let me know what you all think and I'll see you in the next chapter.
