When he got home Granny Izuka was sitting at the table waiting for him. Hunched over herself as she sat on the wooden floor. The old wooden door creaked and moaned as it was pushed open and he was led inside by Emi's hand. There he was confronted with Granny Izuka. She wasn't like her usual cheerful and teasing self but was stern and serious. Andrew sat down on the floor opposite her as Emi left the two alone for her room after a wave goodbye.
There they just sat in silence. Neither uttering a single word to strike up a conversation. It stayed like this as Andrew sat in contemplation. Granny Izuka sat opposite him just looking at him as his head drooped. It stayed like this for a while until Andrew spoke up.

"I'm sorry." He said not looking up at her.
"I made the two of you worry." Granny Izuka didn't say anything and let Andrew speak.

Andrew's words got caught in his throat and he didn't know what to say. His thoughts were all jumbled up like there was a fog in his mind. He couldn't grasp the reality of the situation. Karasu, his very own teacher, was dead and he had to admit that. But he refused. Instead believing it was some silly prank and that he would teach those who did it a lesson.

They sat in silence once more but this time it was broken by Granny Izuka.
"Raise your head." Was all she said and Andrew looked up, his head still drooped. He could only see her body and the table he had memories eating at with Emi and her. He hesitated a brief moment before raising his head and meeting her eyes. She was serious and with her age looked wise and experienced. But under her eyes were dried markings. They were dark and well hidden under makeup but it was a change he could see. She had cried.

"With age people think you become more insensitive as you've witnessed countless deaths and changes throughout time. They're wrong." Granny Izuka stopped for a moment looking around her house. Her eyes shimmered with memoires of her youth, but deep inside was guilt and regret.

"Instead I believe I've grown more sensitive to the pain. It is all I know." She looked back at Andrew and stared deep into his eyes.

"I see the same pain in your eyes. It is evident and much too heavy for a boy of your age."
Andrew shook. He just continued listening as he stared back into her eyes.

"I don't know what you've been burdened with but I do know this. That if you continue to experience this loss you will traverse a path not so dissimilar to my own. You will only forever know of pain." Granny Izuka was composed but her voice betrayed her emotions.

"Make friends. Live life. Fall in love. Enjoy yourself. You will become a great man if you will it." Granny Izuka stood up and turned to leave, holding her back as she went.

Andrew was left with his thoughts. The one thing he shouldn't be left alone with in this time of pain. He thought back to his recurring dream.
He rushed to the Uchiha compound that was burning and collapsed with damage from what could only be described as a monster. He ran and ran panting and screaming inside. He didn't know for how long he ran but he never stopped running. He reached Granny Izuka's home and the wooden structure that was his home, his life line and where he spent most of his time. The place where Granny Izuka and Emi lived peacefully in a time of war and turmoil.
It collapsed on the ground like a person who lost all strength in their legs. The building was no more with wooden planks strewn everywhere and the roof collapsed in on itself. He just stood there agasp as he watched the fire take over. Then he hears a scream and runs inside before he can think. Making his way through the wreckage that he called home he reached the scream. Only for him to let out a painful, heart wrenching yell like an animal in agony. Then he wakes up. Tonight Andrew wouldn't get any sleep as this dream kept playing out in his head not letting him move from his sitting position.

Thanks for reading this chapter. For now I will struggle to get more chapters out as I have college staring in less than a week, I apologise for the short chapter but hope you enjoy it. I may go through previous chapters and make adjustments to make the overall story better aswell.
