Dragonstone Cave

"Did you say dragon eggs? Like real dragon eggs?" questioned Doron as she nodded. "And they feel alive" she stated placing her hand on each one and feeling the connection from before.

"How?"

That was a really good question. How did these eggs survived for all this time and not turn to stone like the others? "Maybe they protected each other and kept one another warm. Maybe its because of magic or even destiny. I don't know but they are alive. I can feel it" she explained as Doron placed a hand on one and only felt that it was warm. Maybe it was a Targaryen thing.

"So now what? Are you going to give them to your family?" asked Aidin to which she laughed.

Picking up and cradling a egg as if it was a baby, she moved back to the books. "Give these to the family, that hates, distant themselves, beats me, and tortures me. Never. Can you even imagine the King with a dragon?" she finished shuddering at the thought as the twins agreed.

It would be death across the 7 kingdoms. Maybe even further, stretching across the world. He would kill and burn everything in sight just because he can. That man shouldn't be given more power. "We will keep all of this a secret. I will take care of them. Aidin, go acquire some trusted guards and chest. We will pack up everything here and bring them to my chambers. No one ever bothers me. But don't tell the guards what we are packing. We shall do that. The less that know, the better" she explained making the twins nod.

With that the plans were set. The eggs, books, scrolls, and piles of dragon glass were packed up and placed in her chambers with no one but the three knowing. Using knowledge she gained from the books on hatching eggs, she cut herself to put blood on the eggs and place them in her fireplace. Every once in a few days she would put more blood on the eggs. She started this almost two moons ago.

It never failed to fascinate the twins on how the fire never burns her. She told them that it is because she is a Targaryen and because of magic. The next question that came up was can they use magic?

"Unfortunately, not. Only certain people in the world are attuned to magic. Like the warlocks of the House of the Undying, the skinchanging of the First Men, and the red priests of R'hllor. And then there are some who have a stronger affinity towards magic like some Valyrians and First Men. More accurately House Targaryen and House Stark" she explained from her standing spot in her chambers.

"Something you are a member of both". "Correct" she answered standing over a book. Taking a step back she held up a knife and whispered some words in High Valyrian. Upon finishing them she used her other hand to touch the blade, causing it to light on fire but not damaging it.

"Oh!" shouted Aidin jumping up with his hands out in a caution movement. "Finally did my first spell" she smirked looking at the flaming dagger. Upon hearing a knock on the door, she placed the flaming dagger in a pot full of water.

Giving the command to enter, Doron stepped through with a scroll in his hand. "Updates on the war" he stated shaking the scroll in the air. "The Redwyne Fleet is fighting a Ironborn fleet after the North and Riverlands pushed the Ironborn from their costal lands. The Baratheon fleet is currently pursing the other Ironborn fleet around the seven kingdoms".

"And the forces that traveled and raided inland?"

"They are out of the Westernlands and now seemed on the path towards King's Landing" he finished making her frown. Walking to her table that displayed the map of the seven kingdoms she looked it over while asking him to point out the locations of battles.

Looking it over, she still didn't see the reason why they would make a dash to attack King's Landing. They stood no chance. Especially with the crown's armies marching forward. Unless they weren't going for King's Landing. But what? Looking around the area she saw nothing else of true value, except-

"Dragonstone". The two looked at her confused until she pointed to the map. "They are not going to attack King's Landing. They are going to attack Dragonstone from land and sea. Capturing the Crown's house capital. A significant symbol and a huge blow to the Targaryen's pride. There is also no true war harden commander leading the castle" she explained.

"And also you" added Doron much to her confusion. "You might not see much value in yourself, but it's the opposite. You are a Targaryen Princess and a Stark. Taking you and making you their salt wife will leave a stain on both houses that would last forever" he explained making her clench his fist in anger.

"We have to prepare the defenses. We still have an army here, so it won't be easy for them to do so. And they have a fleet chasing after them" he added. They just hoped others caught on to the plan. Which was something that the Master of Whispers did and reported.

Kings Landing

Once again King Aerys could be seen raging from his thrown as he threw his cup of wine to the side. He just recently heard what Varys reported and he will not allow those raiding scum to do as they please.

"They are not allowed to take my seat! And they will not ruin my plans for Visenya! Corrupting my line with their filthy blood. HAND!"

Taking a knee in front of him, Lord Jon Connington answered "Your grace".

"You are to take some men and ride to Dragonstone. Take charge of the army there and prevent them from taking my seat and Visenya. You are to then escort her to the North were the construction of the castle has begun. I don't care if she has to stay in a tent until its finished being built. If you fail don't bother coming back as I will have you burned slowly while being hung" he warned. "I'll head out immediately my king".

"Qarlton! You shall be my hand. Know what awaits you, if you failed" he finished. Upon seeing both men understand the consequences he waved his hand to dismiss them.

Off to the side Elia watched on in worry in frustration. She told her husband to see Visenya, but he caved into his father and left to lead the armies against the Ironborn. Now her life was in serious danger, and she had no way to reach him in time. Damn you, Rhaegar!

It didn't take long for Lord Connington to find the people he needed and took off from King's Landing heading for Dragonstone on horseback. Seeing that the raiders weren't all using horses, he should be there before they arrive.

Racing through the lands as fast as they could, they eventually made it into view of Dragonstone to see the field in front of the path to the castle clear but behind it, in the bay was different. Baratheon and Targaryen ships were fighting in close combat. It looked like no enemy forces had landed on the beach, but it was only a matter of time.

Arriving at the gate upon recognizing him, they opened the gate to allow him in. Assuming command he went straight to work giving out orders. He deployed 5,000 troops to the front gate to await the inland raiders while having 5,000 stand by near the beach with archers at the ready. Once preparation was completed, he moved through the castle to arrive at the princess's door with her guards guarding the door.

The twins noticing Connington, gave him a salute as he asked if "the princess was presentable"? Aidin giving a "yes, sir" and knocked on the door to announce his arrival. Entering the chambers he was greeted to Visenya in armor looking out the window at the ship battle. She turned to face him to show her complete outfit, to which impressed him.

Clad in black armor with intricate dragon designs over light black leather and cloth. On each side of her chest was a bandolier built in holding throwing knives. Along her right leg was another bandolier built in holding more knives. Strapped to her side was a simple short sword. She looked ready for war, but he could tell. She was nervous by the shake of her hand and why shouldn't she. She may have been going through training, she was still only 10 name days. Much to young for war but what choice did she have. She either fights or be at the mercy of others.

"Princess" he started gaining her attention to see the nervous look on her face. "During this battle, you shall stay at my side for your protection. So have no worries you will be safe with me. I have a few King's guards with me for extra protection. After we rid the area of the Ironborn, the King has order me to take you North for your new duties".

Giving a nod to that she was well aware of the duty the King gave her. Go to the North to live in the Gift to form a army to combat the wildlings by any means possible. She is to wipe out the threat to the kingdoms and if the North ever rebel, wipe out House Stark. Her family. He was truly a cruel man.

"Thank you Lord Hand-"

"Connington. I'm not the Hand of the King anymore" he explained.

Nodding at the answer she continued "thank you Lord Connington. My life is in your hands" she finished giving him a small curtesy.

"Come along princess". Walking out the room with Visenya following, they were followed by the guards and later the King's guard. Moving outside they moved to the higher position walls to get view of the battlefield. They could already see some rowing boats heading for shore.

"Archers!" yelled Connington make her jump a bit at his loud commanding voice. This what it means to be a leader and to lead men into battle. She needed to take as much pointers as possible to prepare herself for the future.

"Take aim!" he called out and waited for the boats to come closer. Upon coming closer to beach he yelled "FIRE!" ordering a volley of arrows to come raining down upon them. Flying through the sky the arrows hit their mark on the Ironborn moving to shore killing most of them but there were numerous more boats coming.

"My Lord! Ironborn are charging from the inland!" shouted a soldier gaining his attention.

"Archers, fire at will! Vanguard, assume defensive positions! Protect your home! Protect your brothers! Protect your family! Protect your Princess!" he roared as the army roared back in return assuming their defensive positions. "Don't let the Ironborn on this land alive!" he shouted to them before move to the other side to command the other soldiers.

"Archers! Fire at will! Vanguard, hold them back! Let them crash dead into your spears and shields. Middle guard support the vanguard! Rearguard, prepare to counterattack!" he commanded as the formations moved into position for the charging enemies.

It was not long before both opposing forces crashed upon them at the same time. Ironborn from the plains in front and Ironborn from the beach clashed into Targaryen troops defending both locations. It was the time for the defense of Dragonstone.
