This fanfic takes place at the end of S11. When Superintendent Hargraves is in town, it doesn't bode well. What is the purpose of his visit this time? That's what Elizabeth and Nathan are about to find out. Romance and family, challenges, Mountie action, Hope Valley's community life… All the things we love to help us wait for S12!

Years ago, Nathan's sister gave him a journal hoping he would pour his heart into its pages. It never really took until he moved to Hope Valley and needed a way to manage his guilt associated with Jack's death. Thankfully, Nathan now has Elizabeth as a pair of listening ears, but there will naturally still be moments when his journal will be the best place to unload his thoughts.

Nathan Grant is an emergency doctor who wants to get back to treating patients and away from the paperwork. Crystal Haven will allow him to be a hands on doctor, and see more of his family and maybe start his own.
