Dining Hall

"You fought in the rebellion!"

"Yes, I did. The Ironborn attacked Dragonstone, so I had to defend it and myself." Visenya answered Arya from her seat in the dining hall. She looked at Arya who gave her a look of awe which was amusing to her. The look could be said for Brandon as well but not for the others.

Her uncle was scowling at that statement, but she was sure it was because of the Ironborn. Catelyn was looking at her with disapproval which definitely rubbed her the wrong way, while Sansa gave her a look of horror. Robb just looked at her impressed while the boy he was becoming quick friends with was giving her a smirk. Ah, yes. Theon Greyjoy. Her uncle's ward from the rebellion. She will deal with him later but one problem at a time.

"You don't approve?". The questioned was directed towards Catelyn who gave a nod.

"A lady and most certainly a princess has no place on the battlefield". Catelyn spoke this looking proud and sure of herself. She definitely was brought up as a proper lady from the south. From Sansa's nod in agreement, it seems to be that she is raising her daughters to have the same thinking. Well, one of her daughters as Arya was frowning at her mother's words.

"So, you are saying I shouldn't defend myself? Let the Ironborn raze Dragonstone to the ground. Rape and kidnap me, as well as becoming a salt wife?" With those sentences Catelyn's proud posture was shattered. Those words also send variety of emotions throughout the table. Luckily it wasn't heard throughout the hall, so the rest of the members attending the feast couldn't hear.

"N-no, my princess! I'm definitely do not mean that. I'm saying that you shouldn't be in a position for that to happen. Your family should be tending to your safely, is all I'm saying." She could easily see the attempt for her to recover.

"Lord Stark. Is she not aware of my situation and the events that happened at Dragonstone?"

"She knows of the fact that you the daughter of the King and my sister. Not the full events of Dragonstone or your status"

"Hmm. I see. Well allow me to inform you since this is nothing private. It's only a matter of time before you know. While I am the daughter of the King, the nature of my birth had fractured the realm. I'm sure you know the details of it so I won't need to explain that.

I was a hostage while living in King's Landing under King Aerys. A hostage to use against your husband and my father. The last thing of Lyanna. King Aerys wanted me to become like Queen Visenya so he had me trained and taught since I could remember. He was also extremely cruel to me. While this was happening the rest of the crown family ignored me. Choosing to focus on themselves or other family members. I was alone for a long time until the King got tired of me and sent me to Dragonstone.

Spending years alone there while continuing to train and learn before the rebellion occurred. While the rest of the family was safe in King's Landing, I was alone as the Ironborn storm the beaches and banged on the gates to get to me. Ser Jon Connington arrived to help defend but left immediately upon finding out that the Ironborn were going to attack the well defended King's Landing.

He left ME alone to a fate that I barely escaped." Her fist clenched in anger at that as rage could be seen on her face.

"So you can see that I don't hold much or any love for the crown's family. They haven't even revoked the agreement that King Aerys made concerning me forming a army to constantly go beyond the wall to fight wildlings. His way to make the Queen Visenya he always wanted. I don't even know why he wanted that so bad. But the crown has forgotten about me once again."

She could see that they were feeling off about everything she told them. Catelyn even spoke up to ask, why didn't she write a message to the crown. The simple answer was "Why should she?". She was living a life free of many things and not the choices of others.

"But your future. You're going to be fighting those savages! What about your marriage prospects?"

"I don't care for such a thing. You may want those things for your daughters, but I am not your daughter. I am Princess Visenya, and I will not be shackle to your customs or any other person." The warning she and Lord Stark who gave it with his eyes, told Catelyn to hold her tongue.

"Now let's continue on with the feast and forget these talks."

Later that night

Eddard was sitting behind a table in his chambers, righting down some things on a paper as his wife was pasting back and forth venting. Deciding to let her get it all out of her, he didn't say a word. They would talk once she calms herself. He wasn't going to do anything for her when she doesn't understand the full ramifications of it.

She finally calmed down and focused on requesting things from her husband. "Ned. You must send a letter to the crown and fix this. She is a princess. Not some warrior or lord."

"I will not do so and neither shall you" he warned making her pause. "She is fine and happy with this. If you bring this up to the crown, they will put her back in Dragonstone to rot away. Will you do that to me? Will you rob me of my niece again, just after meeting her for the first time?"

This question froze her in her tracks. Doing such a thing would be torture for the princess. Going back to place where she was almost token. And then to rob her husband of the only thing left of his sister. A slight like this against him would never be fixed. She would be giving the crown back their hostage.

"No. I can't in good conscious do that to you or her. What about a marriage?"

"I can't. I'm not her lord or father. And to ask of that from the King would bring attention to her, which would lead to them taking her back. Even so, she would hate me for asking for such a thing to be place on her. You know how she feels at this moment. She is still healing."

"Then what do you plan to do?"

"Help her with whatever she asks of me. Provide what things that she may ask of in order to thrive and be safe. In the future things can change which would allow for more things to happen. Maybe she won't ever have to fight or go beyond the wall. There is still time" he reasoned calming his wife.

"Well, there are some things that she could use and we can provide. She needs a maester and some captains to help teach and lead the soldiers."

Next Day

Visenya could be seen the next day at her throne room going through some paperwork. Slouched back on the chair with her legs crossed, she was looking over the expense report. The hot spring underground stream was progressing slowly but that was to be expected. She wanted it to be done safely and correct. She was also having a sewage system done as well underground as she doesn't want the place to smell like shit, like King's Landing.

She had other projects she wanted to get started on but she couldn't afford it at the moment. Everything was being put into the two projects mentioned before, castle improvements and expansions, and fixes to the village. She wanted to create glass gardens like the Reach had for the winter. Building those will give her the options to grow a lot of different products. But that would have to wait until the other projects were done and for her coffers to fill up again. Unless they find another way to make more profits. These mountains had to offer something more. She just needed to think and search.

"So, this is what you do daily princess" spoke a voice making her lower the paper down to see Robb Stark and Theon Greyjoy walk up to her.

"Yes, it is called being a ruler. I have to make sure everything is in order for my people. You will see when you become a lord, Rob." Putting the papers to the side and straightening up her posture a bit, she gave them her full attention. "How can I help you?"

"You fought against the Ironborn right? What was it like?"

Turning to Theon, she was a bit curious about his question. He wanted to know what it was like to fight his own people? "Yes. I even fought your uncle a bit before he retreated. The best way to explain it is, is that it was chaos. So many things happening at once. The Ironborn had little training which made them unpredictable. But I don't want to talk about the Ironborn. I don't have any fond memories of them."

Getting up and walking away, she hopped that was enough of a signal for them to leave her alone. It was not unfortunately. The two followed her around talking about different things and when it wasn't them, it was the other Stark members. Arya and Brandon were cute as they looked up to her in admiration. Their parents were informative as she was able to set up a trade for her crops to them when they grow. They even set up a few trusted advisors, captains, and a maester to move in to help support her. Loyalty that would be unquestionable. Sansa would be extremely curious about the south, asking so many questions. Questions about knights, the prince, and the land. She really wanted to go there.

Part of her couldn't help but to feel happy that they were finally leaving after their short stay. She had worked to do and things to study away from their eyes. She wanted to practice more magic and with Catelyn being a strong follower of the faith, it would cause issues. She knew that her uncle would keep quiet about her to the crown but would have to inform the other Northern houses of her presence. She wasn't looking forward to any confrontation with the Bolton's based on the rumors. But she was told to expect a visit from her other uncle Benjen, on the behalf of the watch.

But with them gone it was time to get back to work and that what happened. Before long the year had passed and her army of 5,000 men were trained and ready. She finished her projects and improvements with only the glass gardens still be worked on. She had a few up and running but more were being built. It was during the construction of the heating that she found another source of income. Iron and silver. Below the mountains there are massive veins of the resource. While silver not being as valuable as gold, it still had high value. They recently only started mining it but the impact for the growing city would be massive. Her advisors were working the two projects while she focus on her first excursion out beyond the wall.

What helped her numbers grow was the aftereffect of the attack on Dragonstone. Members of the crown and leadership at King's Landing were upset that it was almost token over. So, they pour founding to strengthening its defenses which gave her more money for the stone and hire more soldiers to replace the current ones. Soldiers that were more trained to hold the castle better which left the old soldiers without a job. A job she happily provided for them of they moved here with their families. An easy surge of residents and troops.

With sitting on her white horse wearing her armor which had been modified to handle the cold weather and with a northern fur collar cape, she led her army forward with her personal guards and captains behind her. The twins had done the same for their armor but have changed their weaponry. Aidin now used a massive two handed warhammer and Boron used a large great sword. Two large and intimidating weapons for large men. With her banners flying high it was first to the wall and then beyond it.
