Mirabel and Sam walk along on the docks as Mirabel asked, "Just checking, are you sure you wanna do this?"
After Mirabel caught up with Sam, she started to rant about how her whole career was over, ruined by the man that rode the machine that ruined her chances, but she did her best to calm her down.
Mirabel agreed with her to a certain extent about the whole thing, which was the jerk part and not the career-ending part.
Getting to the end of the dock, Mirabel and Sam stop in place to look out at the horizon….and all of the water for miles.
With a deep breath, Sam threw her microphone away into the ocean with a grunt.
Mirabel patted Sam's shoulder as she sadly sighed and then said, "Cheer up, Sam. This isn't the end. Luck will find your way again, it's just a matter of when and where."
"Maybe," Sam replied, stepping behind Mirabel to sit down where the ladder was.
When her legs drop over the ledge, a scream was heard.
Sam shot up to her feet, stepping back so she and Mirabel can look over the ledge.
Sitting on the ladder under the dock was the man with the flying machine with a vervet monkey next to him.
"Ouch," Mirabel said as she winced when she saw Sam's legs hit the man's eyes.
"Oh, my gosh! I am so sorry! Are you okay? I didn't get the chance to-"
Sam was cut off as the man rubbed his eyes and said, "It's okay, it's just pain."
"Sorry, I'm not myself today. My whole career was ruined by some crazy jerk riding a homemade rocket," Sam ranted again.
"I agree with the jerk part, but the career ended part….I don't think so," Mirabel admitted, shaking her head.
Mirabel noticed that the man shamefully looked down like he was guilty about something.
Sam and Mirabel spot the man's feet as Sam asked, "Wait a minute, what is going with your feet?"
The girls lower themselves down to take a closer look, but Mirabel had her arm on the side of the dock to pull herself up if needed.
"Spray-On Shoes, they, uh, don't come off," The man informed them.
"Cool!" Sam exclaimed, grabbing one of the man's feet without thinking. This motion had his head bang against the metal ladder. "This could solve the untied shoe epidemic. What are they made of, some kind of elastic biopolymer adhesive?"
Mirabel stared dead into the man's eyes, noticing that he was staring at Sam in awe/all dreamy-like.
"Yeah, exactly," The man muttered in a dazed voice.
It caused Sam to snap out of it as she realized that her science and inventive side had taken over.
Sam nervously laughed as she glanced away from the man and said, I mean…wow, they're shiny. I'm Sam, this is Mirabel."
Mirabel waved to the man as Sam let go of his foot.
The man hit his head on the ladder again and said, "Ow! I'm Flint."
"Steve!" The monkey cried out.
Sam and Mirabel gasp in shock, leaning down again as Sam asked, "Is that a monkey thought translator?!"
"Steve!" Steve cried again.
"Ha! Incredible, did you make all of this stuff?" Sam asked as Mirabel was also amazed.
Sam's smile disappeared and pointed a finger at Flint and accused, "You hit me with a rocket!"
"You kicked me in the face!" Flint argued back.
"I said I was sorry!" Sam replied.
Once again, Sam started to rant about what was going on.
"Oh! Do you know how hard it is break into the weather game?!" Sam yelled out, causing Mirabel to roll her eyes in slight annoyance.
Just then, Mirabel heard something zip past her.
She and Flint look down to see a pickle in the water, which was impossible since this town had nothing, but sardines.
"What…?" Flint breathed out, he and Mirabel sharing a look of confusion.
"You get one shot of the show! And if you don't make it-"
Sam was cut off when something loudly landed in a barometer nearby, causing a loud echo to….echo out.
Mirabel slowly stood up as Flint climbed the ladder to stand on the dock as Sam looked confused and finished, "It's back to cleaning the barometers???"
Slowly, Flint and Mirabel head over to the barometer. Once Flint reached it, he looked inside.
"What the…?" Mirabel asked in confusion.
"Cheese?" Flint spoke, reaching inside to grab a slice of cheese.
Flint fell back in shock when another rat-and-bird hybrid flew out as it held the cheese.
"But that can only mean…." Flint stood up, turning back to look at Mirabel and Sam, only for him to look up and gasp in shock.
Mirabel and Sam gaze up at Flint in confusion before they turn around, gasping when they see the sight above them.
There were lots of clouds, a mixture of orange and purple, all shaped like burgers.
The two of them stare wide-eyed at the sight while Flint walked over to join them, still gasping from the shock of it all.
Suddenly, cheeseburgers start to fall from the clouds, most of them landing in the water, but some land on the dock.
A small amount of thunder clashed above them just as Flint stopped gasping.
"Excited! Excited!" Steve shouted, jumping up and down.
Mirabel watched the burgers fall from the sky as she thought, "Raining food? Impossible, I remember my tia having the power to control the weather, but not have it rain food."
Flint held his arms out to enjoy the sight before he held one of them up, laughing in disbelief and happiness just as a burger landed on his palm.
Mirabel and Sam turn around to look at Flint as he took a deep breath and took a bite of his burger.
"My machine works?" Flint muttered, looking up to stare at the clouds.
"It really works!" He shouted, spinning around and joyfully laughing.
"Your machine? Is that what that rocket was?" Sam asked as she and Mirabel catch a burger.
"Uh, do you two like it?" Flint nervously stuttered, a hopeful look on his face.
Sam and Mirabel take bites of their burgers and…dios mio! Their taste buds were screaming in joy. Mirabel thought her mother's cooking was good, but this was delicious.
Mirabel swallowed her bite and said, "We love it! This is just amazing! Look at this."
"'Mira's right, this is the greatest weather phenomenon in history!" Sam exclaimed, dropping the burger she was holding to gesture around them before catching another one.
"Hey, aren't you a weather girl?" Flint asked, taking another bite.
Sam dropped her burger with a gasp, grabbing Mirabel's arm, and pulling her along with her as she said, "Manny, get your camera!"
Mayor Shelbourne, Brent, and the residents of Swallow Falls watch the burgers fall from the sky as some drop the sardine cans and gasp in amazement.
Standing close to Manny, Mirabel and him manage to get the camera up so Sam could go live about the cheeseburger rain as Flint stood nearby, watching them as the people enjoy the burgers.
Looking over, Mirabel saw Flint looking at the townsfolk in happiness, taking another bite of the burger he was holding.
Cautiously, Mirabel stepped over to Flint and asked, "Does anyone here normally like your inventions?"
Flint shook his head with a grin still planted on his face and answered, "No, not at all….this is the first time I've seen them generally happy."
"This tastes significantly better than sardines," Someone shouted.
"Take a look around, you have your first working invention, one that they love! Congratulations!" Mirabel complimented.
"This food weather was created intentionally by geek-ish backyard tinker, Flint Lockwood," Sam finished her report.
Everyone around them stopped in their tracks, gasping just as the burger rain stopped and the clouds start to clear up.
"Flint Lockwood?!" Mirabel heard the same police officer that chased Flint shout.
They look over to Mirabel and Flint, but they were mostly focused on Flint.
"Hi," Flint said as he shyly waved just before the officer tackled him to the ground and Mirabel took a few steps back in shock.
"You're under arrest for ruining Sardine Land!" The officer stated.
So Flint was the one who destroyed Sardine Land? One reason Mirabel knew was that the machine was out of control, but what she does not know that it was deserved due to the mayor and Brent being jerks to him.
Sam walked over to them and said, "Flint, those burgers were awesome! The producers called and he was like, "Everyone wants that food weather"."
Mayor Shelbourne stepped over to them, holding four burgers and picked Flint's up off the ground to eat as Mirabel was disgusted by it.
"Food weather, it could be even better than Sardine Land," Mayor Shelbourne realized, eating the rest of his burgers.
"Can you make it rain food again, please?" Sam asked.
"No," The officer exclaimed, freaking out.
"I don't know if I-"
Flint was cut off as a boy ran over, grabbing his cheeks as he asked, "You're gonna do it again?"
"Oh, you've gotta be kidding!" The officer grumbled.
"Please, please, please, please, please, please, please," Mirabel begged as people came behind her and Sam, all of them waiting for an answer.
But the crowd started to make Mirabel feel nervous and she felt my anxiety start up, because of the amount of people surrounding her.
Flint looked at them for a few seconds before he smiled and answered, "Yes."
