Chapter 87: Billboard Rankings!

It was time for the ranking announcement. Toshinori had a small entourage watching from the seats. What no one noticed there was a fourth one watching. Nana, he manifested her so she could watch.

Toshinori did have to tell the other two about his secret power up.

(Flashback)

Toshinori showed Sir Nighteye the vestiges and their little mascot forms.

"You're the pervious holders of the quirk?" asked sir Nighteye.

"We are." Said Yoichi

The two four past users all looked at Sir Nighteye.

There was an odd tension.,

"Why are you looking at me like that?" asked Sir Nighteye.

"We know why you took on Mirio as a student and we're not exactly happy." Said Yoichi.

"It did work out in the end, but the fact that you chose someone who looked like… yeah… all of us are concerned." Said Nana.

"What are you talking about?" asked Sir Nighteye genuinely confused.

And all of them realized it was a subconscious thing.

They still didn't like him. Even if he had toned things down in recent weeks.

(Different flashback)

"You kept this form me!" muttered Gran Torino

"I didn't mean to." Said Toshinori.

Gran Torino kicked him in the same. .

Nana just watched with a sweat drop.

Even she could tell her friend just wanted an excuse to kick his ass

(End of Flashback)

They were in the audience that mainly heroes and with the press asking heroes questions.

And of course they started the announcements. All but one of the one of the top 10 heroes stood on stage, the one missing was Best Jeanist who was still recovering from his role in Kaminari.

Number 10 was a wan older hero known as Yoroi Musha.

Number 9 was a washing machine themed hero known as Wash.

Number 8 was a Kamui Woods.

Number 7 was a hero known as Crust.

Number 6 was Mirko.

Number 5 was Edgeshot

Number 4 was Best Jeanist

Number 3 was a younger hero with red wings known as Hawks..

And of course…

Number 2 was Endeavor

And Number 1 was All Might/

When All Might was announced the press went to Toshinori's entourage.

"You're the mysterious hero that helped All Might in that battle… why did you do it?" asked one member of the press.

No comment…" muttered Gran Torino, 'Other than do your damn research! There are records of me form years ago! That should tell you who I am!"

Nana just sweat dropped in hiding spot.

That was when several reports asked Tensei some questions about being part of All Might's entourage.

"It actually is an not getting close enough to All Might to join him today." Said Tensei..

"Have you two gotten close?" asked another reporter.

"A bit." Laughed Tensei.

Everyone just ignored Sir Nighteye. Who just glared at the press as if telling them to back away.

The president of the HPSC stood forward.

"We have decided to put on an elaborate ceremony as thing have changed. Ever since Kamino villains have become more emboldened due to fear of losing All Might. If he could hide such an injury while also thinking about the what ifs. We are doing this to show that heroes are still here including All Might despite his new appearance." Said the president, "The fight from a couple months ago proves that. Still with everything it's believed it is best for our society to see the heroes standing before you here today."

Toshinori looked at Hawks trying to make small talk with Endeavor but not working.

"And now let's hear from our heroes." Said the president.

All of them began to make speeches expect Wash who had a schtick that he wanted to stick to… the schtick being talking like a Pokémon and saying variations of the word "Wash". Yes… really…

During Edgeshot's part it was pointed out that he would be higher if it was public support. As Edshot was doing his speech Hawks interrupted with "Who wants to hear that crap!"

Everyone was shocked by this.

"I just hate holding back is all." Said Hawk taking the microphone away from the woman get the quotes.

He then flew up.

"You want to talk about Public Support? All Might would be first but not counting him, But after him Best Jeanist would first due to his absence since Kamino followed by me, then Edshot and Endeavor would be fifth. Public Approval, sure it's important but it's not what really matters. All Might kept a huge secret from the public yes it's understandable why… he kept it secret, people would be worried and if wasn't the miracle of being transformed into a magical girl he wouldn't be here and the public can't help but to think about it not only that but they're afraid, afraid of what might else a hero might hiding, maybe one is on a villains pay roll, maybe another has a secret second family not to mention whatever Wash is hiding!" said Hawks who realized, "No offence."

"Wa-wash!" said Wash which everyone could understand as "None taken" as it wasn't the first time people suspected of Wash hiding something… considering his entire costume was a washing machine, his eyes were the only thing that could be seen and his schtick was talking like a Pokémon.

"It's this fear is what's spreading through the country and what everyone need to hear is something truly heroic.." Said Hawks.

The crowds were unsure how to respond.

"That's all from me, here you go Mr. Number 2, dude with lower approval than me." Said Hawks tossing the mic to Endeavor.

"Look it doesn't really matter if All Might is now healed with a stronger quirk…" said Endeavor, "He can't be number 1 forever so watch me."

It was clear to everyone what he was really saying… that he wanted to be the number 1 hero.

Toshinori glared at Endeavor as he handed her the microphone.

Those only those that what the glare was really about were Tensei, Nana and Mirko.

"I do apologize for hiding my old injury but I will do my best to still being the Symbol of Peace, but I won't do it alone anymore. I'm now connected by several others and I know those that are training to be a hero and the one who is a hero will help me keep the villains at bay. It's not just me but the future as well, there's a future generation of heroes coming and I'm looking forward to it."

The crowd went with it.

After the ceremony was over Toshinori had a bad feeling about Endeavor .

""So I take from that look you know about how much a jerk Endeavor is really." Said Mirko.

Toshinori raised an eyebrow.

"Bombshell might have let something slip about Endeavor." Said Mirko.

Then Toshinori remember how Izuku had done his internship with Endeavor and Katsuki must have been worried about it after what they learned.

"I'm worried he might take out his rage on Hawks." Said Toshinori.

The two found Endeavor holding Hawks by his shirt as his flame went crazy.

"So you were testing me?" asked Endeavor.

"More like assisting." Said Hawks.

"Endeavor that's enough!" said Toshinori.

Endeavor let him go.

Endeavor glared at Toshinori but decided to play nice.

"All Might, I have been wondering, how is Shoto?" asked Endeavor.

"He's been doing well." Said Toshinori, "He helped put on special effects for a show during the school festival, his part was quite beautiful."

"I see." Said Endeavor.

The two looked at each other and things were still tense.

Endeavor then deiced to leave.

"Wait Endeavor… I still need to talk about something." Said Hawks.

"What?" asked Endeavor.

"I think we should team up… there's something go on in my neck of the woods… Nomu were seen." Said Hawks.

Toshinori's eyes widened.

"Wait and you're not asking All Might." Said Mirko.

"I would ask him but… he's still contract with Nezu… and I am not messing with that." Said Hawks.

"Yeah… I'm not allowed to do hero work unless it's my day off or it's not in school hours." Said Toshinori,

"You signed a contract like that?" asked Mirko.

"Considering I could only use my quirk for 3 hours at the time it was pretty good contract." Said Toshinori.

Mirko nodding giving her that.

"So you can see why I would prefer Endeavor on this one." Said Hawks.

Haws practically dragged away Endeavor so the two could talk.

"Please tell me you're going to take care of him soon. Because I would prefer if Ryukyu was back in the top 10 over him." Said Mirko.

"There's a plan." Said Toshinori.

Not too long later at UA. Shoto was talking with Nezu and Tsukauchi who decided to help in the case after hearing about it.

"If your siblings agree to talk that would help. "said Tsukauchi.

"I don't know about Fuyumi, but I'm sure Natsuo might want to…" said Shoto.

Tsukauchi nodded.

"Is the reason why this is finally being done have to do with the fact that All Might is no longer inured?" asked Shoto.

"It is." Admitted Nezu.

"I should have known." Sighed Shoto.

"It might take a bit to reveal more details." Said Tsukauchi, "But we will try to take him down soon."

Shoto nodded.

She headed back to the dorm. She was glad this interview happened during the ranking announcement.

"Shoto! You need to return to the dorm now!" was Izuku's voice raised through her head.

"What happened?" asked Shoto.

"It's something you need to see!" was Izuku's response.

What she didn't know was that after the billboard award the meeting with Hawks didn't go as planned as they were attacked by a Nomu that was far stranger any Nomu before it.

And Endeavor was having a hard time fighting it, to the extent that it wounded him badly near his eye.

Shoto arrived at the dorms to see that injury happened.

Izuku activated Telepathy again.

"We know you don't like the guy. But we knew you had to see this." Thought Katsuki.

"I do…" thought Shoto.

She saw down, Tenya and Toru stat next to her.

Izuku turned into his animal form.

"How did this happen?" thought Shoto, "Was it…"

"No he went to meet with Hawks about a future team up and then this happened." Thought Toshinori, "I was already back at the school when this happened"

Shoto wasn't sure how to respond.

After all this was something she was never expecting would happen.

"Todoroki…" said Aizawa," You already saw?"

Todoroki nodded and grabbed Izuku and held him tightly.

At one point people were panicking g and a kid in a scarf ended up doing a speech to calm people down get behind Endeavor.

Even with his injuries Endeavor still fought and with Hawks helping him though his feather were running out, as his quirk allowed him to telepathically move his feathers.

But still Endeavor pushed through the defeated the powerful Nomu.

And he showed of his victory in a pose that All Might often did.

But still he was not in the best of shape after such a grueling fight.

And things only got worse, when Dabi showed up and unleashed blue flames.

"That fucker!" yelled Katsuki.

Izuku was now shaking a little and Shoto continued to hold him tightly.

However thankfully Mirko showed up and kicked Dabi hard.

"FUCK YEAH!" cheered Katsuki.

The class remembered that Katsuki did her internship with Mirko and got along greatly with her so it made sense that she would be a big fan.

Dabi disappeared thanks to the gunk teleportation quirk and disappeared.

But still Endeavor had won.

Shoto honestly did 't know how to feel… but there was on things she still needed to do and one almost life ending fight wasn't going to change things.

2 days later Shoto got permission to go home where Endeavor would be coming home for dinner.

Thanks to the dorms, Endeavor had returned to the house.

Before Endeavor had returned Shoto brought up the two of them talking to the police about Endeavor's abuse. Natsuo was quiet but Fuyumi hated the idea.

"Are you seriously going to turn him after all that?" asked Fuyumi.

"No… I don't plan to turn him in so soon after this fight." Said Shoto, "After what happened I decided to wait a month or so… I've waited this long…"

"Why didn't you do this sooner?" asked Natsuo.

"When Inko found she slapped Endeavor. The school was worried he might take action against her if we tired something." Said Shoto.

''"She slapped him?" asked Natsuo clear impressed.

"And the other reason All Might's injury… I've honestly known about it since the final exams…" said Shoto.

"Yeah… I hate to agree but losing both top heroes would have catastrophic." Muttered Natsuo.

"That's why…" said Shoto.

"Give the card." Said Natsuo.

Shoto gave him the card for who to contact.

Fuyumi was quiet at this.

Shortly afterward Endeavor arrived.

He was surprised to see Shoto.

"You're here." Said Endeavor.

"Shoto got permission to come here, his homeroom teacher is outside." Said Fuyumi, "But he declined to come in."

Aizawa meanwhile was trying to befriend a cat outside.

"That's a nasty scar you got there." Said Shoto, "Reminds me of something…"

Then she pass aggressively slurped her soba.

Natsuo joined in the passive aggressive slurping.

Fuyumi whisper scolded them to not be scornful.

"I can hear you." Said Endeavor.

"I'm sorry sis I just can't do it." Said Natsuo.

"Natsu!" said Fuyumi.

"Natsuo you got something to say, say it." Said Endeavor.

And of course Natsuo laid into Endeavor about how he had neglected everyone, how he didn't know what Shoto's favorite food was because he never got to play with Shoto growing up and a lot of the other stuff he had to go through. Even bringing up Touya… their oldest brother who had died years before hand.

He then left after thanking Fuyumi for the food.

Fuyumi was quiet, there was nothing she could say.

And then the news that was on TV shifted to reactions about the fight how everyone was praising Endeavor.

"Endeavor is an amazing hero…" said Shoto.

She then turned to glare at father.

"But as a person he's horrible." Said Shoto.

Fuyumi froze. When she said that.

"You have done so much to this family… to mom… to Touya… but the worst part is that I realized something…" said Shoto.

She looked at Endeavor and gave the harshest glared possible.

"I can never forgive you for one simple reason: I'm not a person to you I'm just a perfect quirk!" said Shoto.

Endeavor froze at that.

"When you took on Izuku as a student you put him through the wringer so that he could master my quirk. You were more upset that Izuku had a copy of my quirk than the fact that I was transformed! I'm not the person who I used to be! And you didn't even care! You only care about my quirk and nothing else!" said Shoto, "I'm not a human to you and that's' why I can never forgive you."

Shoto was breathing heavily.

Endeavor was shocked standing there.

"I think I should go." Said Shoto getting up.

"Shoto!" said Fuyumi.

"Endeavor, things are going to change soon and that's all I will tell you." Said Shoto.

She left the house leaving Endeavor shocked.

He could tell something big was coming… something very big indeed.

However that thing would also be a while until it happened… because Shoto still wanted a cool off period and there was a lot that could happen during that cool off period.

Next Time: Class 1-A is chosen to temporally head an agency on a small island. It's extremely peaceful and the weather is nice all year long. What happens when Izuku meets two little kids? Find out next time!

A/N: Yep Heroes Rising next time, the first half is going to be the same but the second half is going to very different than canon for so many reasons. But I'm going to clear something up first... neither Kastuma or Mahoro will become magical girls. There is no reasonable way to bring them to the plot after the movie plot beyond teleporting them in. They are adorable and hell the fact that they're basically mini Izuku and Katsuki fits a bit more in this story. But it just doesn't work. Sure it would be cool for them to be magical girls... but it just wouldn't work for the plot. I'm sorry...I do plans for someone to bond during the evets of the movie... but it's not the kids. Sorry for those hoping for them to be magical girls...
