After the battle:

The war with Voldemort was finally over. The survivors who were injured had finally seen a healer before being able to eat and rest.

The saviour of the wizarding world and the one that killed Voldemort, Harry Potter was sitting on the steps to Hagrid hut, trying to stay out of sight. Hagrid and his brother, Grawp were nearby. They were dragging all the large tree's into a pile. Those trees had been ripped up by the giants. Almost all those giants had been killed. The few that survived, left in a hurry and went back to their home.

Ever since it was known that Harry killed Voldemort, everyone was turning up at Hogwarts to see him. The worst were the reporters. Harry refused to acknowledge them at all just as he did with the people from the ministry. To Harry, they were cowards who stayed away. He accepted the thanks from normal people, the ones who really suffered due to Voldemort and his death eaters, not to mention how the ministry didn't help at all. The few that did help from the ministry were either killed or trying to protect people at St Mungo's, like patients or healers.

It was the staff, the students, the order of the phoenix along with a few aurors who had fought and beat Voldemort and his death eaters.

The aurors right now were guarding the remaining death eaters that survived the fight. They had all been stunned to keep them quiet but also to make sure they didn't try anything. All wands and portkeys were taken from them along with any poisons or knives they might have had on them. Lucius Malfoy was found with three wands, two portkeys, a knife that had been dipped in poison along with a vial filled with poison.

Kingsley Shacklebolt had been named interim minister for magic. He instantly called on emergency powers to help him clean out all the supporters of Voldemort and make sure they were punished for their crimes. He would not allow them to get away with what they had done, not like they had done after the first war with Voldemort. Too many got off by pleading innocent, that they had been under the imperius curse, money also changed hands which allowed many to go free. Kingsley was not going to allow that to happen again.

Every now and then, one of his friends would hurry over to him to explain what was going on. Harry wanted to help but he had been told by a healer that he needed to rest for at least three days. Being hit with two unforgivables within twenty minutes of each other causes his magic to be depleted but also because Voldemort had not only cursed Harry with the cruciatus curse, he used magic to throw Harry's body around. The healers found a dozen broken bones along with many other injuries. The most draining on Harry had been when his spell had hit Voldemort's, held it until he was able to force it back on the dark wizard. That along with the two unforgivables that happened earlier, caused Harry's core to almost empty. They only allowed him to leave the make shift hospital as they were running out of room for the seriously injured. Once they were stabilised, they were transported to St Mungo's. The only patients in the Hogwarts hospital were the ones with minor injuries. Harry was stable, he just needed rest and warned not to use any magic, at least for a few days.

When Harry did leave the hospital, he had snuck up to the headmaster's office and retrieved the memory he had left in the pensieve. The moment he entered the bathroom, he tipped the memory into the toilet. He did that for a few reasons but the main reason was so that no one knew that he had been a horcrux. Harry knew how fickle people were. If they found out that Harry had a piece of Voldemort's soul behind his scar, they would begin to believe he was dark or he could turn dark. Harry was going to make sure no one knew what the memory contained. Once he was sure the memory was gone, he thought of something that could allow people to find out. Once the healers said he was fine and he could use magic again, Harry used his invisibility cloak and went back to the headmaster's office. He used the strongest obliviate he could on Albus Dumbledore's portrait. It was thanks to Sirius that told him that portraits could be obliviated but you had to really be powerful to make it work and Harry knew he was powerful. He hoped the surviving death eaters mentioned that he was hit with the killing curse again, it would make people really believe that Harry was powerful, powerful enough to survive the killing curse twice.

The great hall, which was badly damaged, was now being used to house all the people who had died for the good side. The bodies of the ones who supported Voldemort had been taken to an old unused classroom. The body of Voldemort had been taken straight to the ministry were his body was sent through the veil in the department of mysteries. Harry had been offered to be the one to send him through the veil, he declined. Harry said he did his duty, now he just wanted to start a life where he could finally be normal. He wanted to put the past seventeen years of his life behind him. Harry suggested Susan Bones to be given the chance to send Voldemort through the veil since she had lost every member of her family to Voldemort and his death eaters but most had been killed by Voldemort personally. Susan thanked Harry and agreed. She told Harry after that she finally felt that it was over seeing his body going through the veil.

After a lot food and a lot of sleep, the families of the ones that died began to take them home, ready to be buried. Harry always found things in the wizarding world strange or unusual, this was just another way. The families buried their dead, it wasn't done by funeral homes. All the ministry did was take down their information before they were able to take their loved ones home.

Andromeda Tonks had spoken with Harry about Remus. He was the closest to family of Remus. Since he was married to Nymphadora, Harry felt they should be buried together. The Tonks' family didn't have a family plot so Harry suggest they be buried at Godric's Hollow. There were a lot of wizarding families buried in that cemetery and he believed Remus would like to be buried near his old friend, James Potter. Andromeda agree and would let Harry know when the funeral for her daughter and son-in-law would be. She would have liked to bury her husband with their daughter, but so far, Ted's body had not been found. After they spoke about the funeral, Harry got to meet his godson, Teddy Lupin. They spent a half an hour together before Andromeda took her grandson home, along with the bodies of Nymphadora and Remus.

The Weasley family had finally left. Hermione went with them and they did ask Harry. He wanted to remain at Hogwarts to help repair the castle before he got his own place. Harry had many reasons for staying at Hogwarts. One was to help with the repairs. The other was to give the Weasley family time alone to grieve for their loss. But Harry also had seen some looks from Ginny Weasley and knew she was hoping they might get back together. Harry realised during his time in the tent that Ginny wasn't his type. He liked her and enjoyed her company, but he just couldn't see them having any type of serious relationship. He decided staying at Hogwarts would mean he wouldn't see Ginny and she might finally realised that Harry wasn't interested. If he was, he would have gone to the Burrow to stay with the family.

While Harry had been resting, that was when the staff were documenting all the damage done to the castle, Harry had done a lot of thinking. He had made a few decisions. He never told anyone but he had come to hate Albus Dumbledore for the things he put Harry through. He hated him for not telling him things he needed to know, until it was too late and one of those times got Sirius killed. He hated him for forcing him to remain with the Dursley's, even though he admitted to sentencing Harry to ten dark and difficult years. Albus Dumbledore had known exactly how the Dursley's treated Harry yet he never told them to treat him like they should have. To Harry, he was their slave and the person who they could blame for everything. He never got enough to eat while he was at the Dursley's and had to work all day with no food or water. Then he was locked into the room he was allowed to use just like a prisoner. Another thing Harry hated the man for, the way he allowed Severus Snape to treat him and all the other students from light families. It was so obvious to Harry that the man was always dark. He supported students from dark families, children of death eaters and harassed students from light families.

Harry knew the truth about Snape and Dumbledore, but no one was going to know. Harry hoped that he could make sure Snape was always known as a death eater, the one to kill Albus Dumbledore. He wanted that man's reputation ruined. He had only begun to think of how to ruin Snape when he was told the man had been found alive. He couldn't do much about Dumbledore but he would make sure to tell people just how many mistakes the old man made. Since he obliviated the portrait, he hoped it would stop people finding things out from Dumbledore that could contradict what Harry had said.

It took Harry a while to figure out what to say if someone like Kingsley or McGonagall asked Albus Dumbledore's portrait about Snape. They would find out that the portrait has no memories left. Harry finally worked out that all he had to say was Snape had been in that office for nearly a year which meant he could have easily cursed the portrait to say anything he want. Snape had been the official headmaster at the time, which meant he could easily use spells on the portraits in the headmaster's office, which means he must have obliviated the portrait so Albus could not tell anyone the truth about himself or about Snape.

Harry knew he would be asked to fill in people like Kingsley, that's when he would tell them that Snape was always dark. How he behaved when he was at Grimmauld place along with how he treated people like Harry and the Weasley children showed just who he really is. Then there was the murder of Albus Dumbledore, again that showed who Snape really was, he was always dark and always supported Voldemort.

Hermione and Ron had seen Snape give Harry some memories but they didn't see what the memory was about. He could easily say it was full of lies and Snape calling him names like he had done many times before. He could say he hoped Harry died a painful death when he faced Voldemort. He could even say they didn't contain anything, that it must have been a trick. Snape realised Voldemort was going to lose so he tried to make Harry believe he was really on his side. He gave Harry his memories in front of Hermione and Ron. He could easily say Snape was hoping Harry's two friends saw the memory to prove he was really innocent. No, Harry would just say that the memories didn't contain anything, it was just dark shadows and no sound. Harry was going to make sure that Snape's actions showed exactly who Snape supported, which was Voldemort.

It took two weeks before all the funerals were over, then the trials for the surviving death eaters would be starting. One thing Harry did say to Kingsley was he wanted veritaserum used and he also wanted people like Dolores Umbridge and Cornelius Fudge questioned using the truth potion. He believed those two cause as many deaths as the death eaters and it was time to find out exactly what they did and didn't do.

Kingsley had already brought forward his emergency powers, which meant he could pretty much do anything. He was always going to use veritaserum to question everyone. He had healers making the potion and not just one cauldron full, he wanted a lot made. He wasn't just going to use the potion on death eaters, he wanted everyone in the ministry questioned using the truth potion that way he would know for sure just who was working for the ministry. If they were dark in any way or even got bribed to help Voldemort, they would face a trial. Kingsley already knew many would lose their jobs, he just had to wait until the trials of the death eaters were over before he could begin to clean out the ministry.

One thing Harry heard that made him smile was once Snape had been healed, he had been sent straight to Azkaban. Kingsley had seen Harry's memory of when he killed Dumbledore and how he cursed Harry when he went after his old professor. The memory showed just how dark Snape was and how he was a murderer and supporter of Voldemort. Severus Snape would not get a trial, the minister had seen enough proof and had his own memories of just how dark Snape was. He would live out his days in Azkaban, surrounded by dementors.

'You seem in a good mood lately Harry,' Neville said as he sat beside Harry who was eating his breakfast in the damaged great hall.

'How can I not be Neville. Voldemort is dead, his most dangerous death eaters are dead and the rest of them are finally in Azkaban. Even though the minister is using dementors again, this time they can only take orders from three people at the same time. There will never be another Umbridge who could used her position to send dementors after anyone. After what happened to me, I knew something had to be done. They also can't leave Azkaban without the minister, the head of the DMLE and the head unspeakable signing off on it. But the thing that made me smile the most is Snape finally paying for everything he did. Kingsley asked me what he believes their punishment would be. I asked why my opinion matters. He explained that many of the death eaters and some of their families asked for them to be sent through the veil instead of Azkaban. I instantly said that wasn't punishment, they deserve to suffer like they did to all of us. If they were sent through the veil, it was all over. I told Kingsley that Snape deserves to go to Azkaban for the rest of his miserable life and he was, so that makes me want to smile all the time.'

'Yeah, that makes me smile as well. I still find it hard to believe that the teachers couldn't see how dark he was. But mainly Dumbledore who should have said something to him. We saw it especially with the way he treated us. I wouldn't have cared if he died but I am glad that some of those death eaters are dead. They were dangerous. I just wish I could have been the one to kill Bellatrix Lestrange.'

'I get you there Neville. It should have been you, you just didn't get a chance. I get why Mrs Weasley was pissed off, Lestrange did almost kill Ginny, but after what she did to your parents, you had more right than anyone. I got to kill Voldemort, so I got my revenge on the man that killed my parents, you didn't.'

'No, I didn't. I did get her husband, even if it's not her, it was close as I was going to get. I am happy she's dead, I just really wished it could have been me. So apart from helping fix the castle, what are you going to do once it's fixed?'

'I'm going to buy my own home. I already cleaned out everything from my parents house in Godric's Hollow. I also placed it under the fidelius charm. That belongs to me and I don't want people staring at the house where I lost my parents. Since I had proof that it was legally mine, no one could stop me. I went to the house mainly to get a few personal things. When I saw how good everything was, apart from the stuff in my old baby room, I decided to use all my parents things. It's all storage in a muggle storage shed until I buy my own place. What about you?'

'Well, after what happened here while you were hunting those things, I realised how much I liked helping. I decided to return and do my last year then become an auror. I'm not sure if I will stay an auror but I want to for now. Didn't I hear that you wanted to be an auror.'

'I don't want to be an auror. The fake Mad-eye said I would make a good auror. Ron and Hermione took that as that's what I should do. I said the only way I would become an auror is if Voldemort was still here once I did my newts. I told McGonagall that after we had careers advice. You heard how she said she would make sure I would end up an auror because Umbridge kept saying they would never allow me to be an auror. I decided to explain to her that I only considered it because of him and it might help in a fight. Since he's gone, I can finally do what I always wanted and become a healer. She actually said she thought a healer would suit me more than an auror.'

'Well, you do like helping people, so a healer would suit you. I might not have heard anything about you being a healer but I think it's you.'

'Yeah, I do as well. I never told anyone until recently, mainly so people wouldn't annoy me by saying I have to do this or that. It's my life and I've decided. I spoke with Poppy, she's going to speak with a few healers, without using my name to see if they would take me on. She believed I was destined in being a healer from the amount of times I ended up in one of her beds. She told me that I hold the record for the student who had spent more time in her hospital than any other. You wouldn't guess who held the record before me.'

'Well, some Slytherin's for the times they thought they could take us out but ended up the one being hexed. Maybe the Weasley twins, due to how often they tested their own products.'

'Fred and George are in the top ten but it was my father who held the record, my godfather was next. Now they are numbers two and three.'

Neville laughed, 'That shows you are a lot like him and not just in looks.'

'Yeah but Remus and Sirius explained that I'm actually more like my mum. I do like to fly like dad and the injuries I got were mainly due to Voldemort, Snape or Dumbledore. My mum was thinking of being a healer before she fell pregnant with me. They said she decided to have all her kids then she would see about becoming a healer. She liked the idea of being a young mother so she could relate to them more. I get that as I would like to be able to relate to my kids, but I really don't want to have kids yet. First I have to meet the right girl.'

'We both do, but I thought you were with Ginny.'

'No, I broke up with her right after Dumbledore's funeral. While I've been resting, I've had a lot of time to think. I realised she's not really my type. Before I had so much on my mind that I never really considered what was my type was, now I can. My problem is how I'm thought of. Hermione told me how often she heard girls talking about slipping me a love potion and all of them didn't know me. They wanted the-boy-who-lived, now it's going to be worse. It's why I spoke with poppy because I don't want to be a student anymore, not here. I wouldn't mind studying and doing my newts but not here. It's just to easy for someone to slip me something. I think you would have to be careful as well. After hearing you when everyone thought I was dead, I can easily see many girls looking at you. Then you did kill the snake, again that would be attractive to some girls.'

'I get what you mean. I heard many girls say they wanted to give you a love potion, yet none of them really knew you. No one really knows me, yet I'm already getting looks. One thing I've been doing is thinking back over the years here. I saw and heard how many thought you were the heir of Slytherin, some of those I would never have believed they would listen to rumours. The tournament was the next one that told me what some where like. Then fifth year when fudge was spreading those lies, so many believed him and the prophet yet they didn't know you at all. It surprised me how many of the D.A believed what was written. They are not the type of people I want to be friendly with, let alone date one of those girls. There was one I had been thinking about, this was from our third year. It was from then I began to listen and watch and realised she was one of those that listened to rumours and believed all that crap. That is not someone I could look at.'

'I watched everyone from the time they believed I was the heir of Slytherin. I got to see and hear which people to stay away from. I know many were in the D.A but that was to help people learn to fight and survive. I really didn't want to teach most of them but I also didn't want their deaths on mind. Right now, I can honestly say there is only about half a dozen girls I would look at yet not all of them would ever look at me. Two are Slytherin's, they never caused me any trouble but they also have those pure-blood beliefs, so they are out as well. I don't know, I think I should take some time, a lot of time and allow those girls to grow up. They might finally realise what could have happened because they listened to rumours.'

'You mean he could have won.'

'Yeah but I was seriously considering leaving, just pack my stuff and leave the country. I was very close when my name came out of the goblet of fire. After returning and telling fudge, I thought I would then, just get off the Hogwarts express and get a train to some other part of the country until I could work on leaving the country. It was the same the following year, with Snape and Umbridge. Then the old goat kept a secret he should not have which cost my godfather's life. He then tells me the damn prophecy right after. I was actually planning on leaving right as I left his office. So you see, because of the way people believed rumours and the old man, he could still be here but I wouldn't care whether there was a prophecy or not.'

'Even though I get why you would leave, I would as well if I went through half of what you did. I'm glad you didn't. He is gone, most of his death eaters are dead and the others are locked up. We've got a chance now at a decent life. We're adults, we can make our own decisions and no one can stop us.'

'If anyone tried to stop me making my own decisions, I would leave and no one would see me ever again. I could easily disappear into the millions of muggles, it would be impossible for most people in the wizarding world to find one teenager amongst all those people.'

The two young men continued to talk, neither of them knew that they had been overheard by the now headmistress. She always hoped Harry would return to Hogwarts and do his last year but after hearing what he said about the girls and love potions, she understood why he won't. She would speak with Poppy and hope between both of them they can get someone to take Harry on as a healer apprentice even without his newts. If that didn't happen, she could see Harry leaving the country and that's when people might begin to cause him trouble. No one would want to lose the saviour of the wizarding world, but she heard the conviction when he spoke. He would leave if anyone interfered and no one would be able to stop him.

It took until Hogwarts was repaired and Harry had found the perfect home before Poppy finally heard back from a healer friend. He said he would be willing to take on the person Poppy mentioned if that person would also study everything that he would learn for his newts but also to learn as much as he could about healing. Poppy explained to Minerva so between them they were able to get everything Harry would need to study his newts, even if he didn't have to sit them. He would only need to study up on five subjects, potions, defence against the dark arts, herbology, transfiguration and charms. Once they had all that, Poppy told Bailey the name of the person who wanted to be a healer. Bailey instantly understood why she kept Harry Potter's name out of the conversation. Now poppy knew Bailey wanted to take on Harry because he truly wanted to be a healer and not because he was the saviour.

Minerva and Poppy invited Harry to Hogwarts. They explained what they had done then handed him a folder with everything he would need to know to study five subjects that he would normally have to pass for his newts. All the information on being a healer under Bailey Cowan was also in the folder. Harry was so shocked that it took him a while to speak, then he ended up hugging both the woman and thanked them for what they did so he could have his dream.

When Harry left, he sent an owl to healer Cowan to find out when they should meet.

Harry and Bailey met a few days later and they instantly got on. Harry really liked the man and could easily tell that if he ever wanted some advice, it was Bailey that Harry would go to. They ended up spending the whole day together. They talked about the apprenticeship first, then about their lives. Harry did ask if there was some type of charm or potion that could protect him from love potions. Bailey understood why Harry asked and had the young man follow him back to St Mungo's. He gave Harry the potion which is the only one he would need to take but he was now protected from love potions. While they were there, Harry signed all the forms that would make him an apprentice healer under Bailey Cowan.

When Harry got home that night, he found a letter from the minister. Kingsley had finally been voted in as minister and not just the interim minister. Kingsley wrote that Snape keeps asking to speak with him. Kingsley asked Harry to come to his office the following morning at ten.

'There is no way I'm going to see that man. He could be dying and I could be the only person alive that could save him and I would turn my back on him. I hate death eaters and he was one of the worst.'

'Yes, he was. I just don't get why he is so anxious to speak with you. We all saw how he treated you at headquarters. It doesn't make sense. He did mention a memory he gave you and wanted me to watch it.'

'He's still manipulating and lying. The memory he gave me was nothing. There were dark smokey shadows, not sound, nothing. At first, I thought maybe he knew something, then I remembered how he acted and treated everyone. So even though I didn't believe it would help, I did think he might have wanted to insult me again or maybe tell me I was going to die a painful death. Nope, nothing, not a thing. I don't know Kingsley, maybe he's crazy like the other death eaters. How could they not be with how many times Voldy liked to use the cruciatus curse on them.'

'I think you're right. His mind is scrambled. But we'll keep that just between us. I don't want people saying they should be released and treated in St Mungo's.'

'It will always be our secret,' Harry said with a smirk making Kingsley laugh. They spoke for a bit longer, Harry even told him about his apprenticeship. Kingsley congratulated him. He knew it would not be long before the wizarding world heard that Harry Potter was going to be a healer.

It was the second day after Harry began his training under Bailey that the news broke about his apprenticeship. Kingsley had to send some hit wizards to St Mungo's to keep the reporters out. Harry did send a message to them saying he will only ever give an interview to the quibbler. They were the only paper that would tell the truth, not like the others that lied and sometimes they lied to protect death eaters. Harry had signed an exclusive contract with the quibbler.

Harry arrived home that second day to find a pile of letters that owls had left for him on his kitchen table. He left them there for now, went to shower then to make dinner. Only after he had eaten did he begin to check all the mail for any type of tampering. He found love potions attached to some. He found two curses, the rest were clean. He destroyed the ones with love potions and curses before he began to read the letters.

Some of the letters were like what he had been receiving from the time he killed Voldemort. Woman or girls asking him out. Some asking if they could be the mother of his children. Some woman just asked for sex, with no strings attached. Harry thought about those and wondered if he should take them up on their offer. He decided to think on that and went back to his mail.

There were letters from Hermione. She wanted to know why he didn't tell her or anyone about becoming an apprentice healer when he was going to be an auror. Ron's letter was angry because now Harry wouldn't be an auror with him. Ginny wrote as well and wanted them to date again. Molly Weasley wrote and wrote that he should return to Hogwarts and she should have made him stay at the Burrow, he was too young to live on his own.

Harry decided not to answer Molly's letter. He wrote to Ginny and said that right now, he wasn't going to date anyone seriously. He may date but it would be casual but he wanted to concentrate on learning to become a healer. He wrote to Ron and told him to piss off, he was sick of how Ron always tried to make Harry at fault. He wrote to Hermione and explained how he never wanted to be an auror, that Crouch said he would make a good auror. That was one career that did not interest Harry at all. He also wrote that even with Kingsley as minister, he would never work for the ministry of magic. He wanted to be a doctor before knowing about the wizarding world, that didn't change, only from doctor to healer.

In her letter she did ask if they could get together on their first Hogsmeade weekend, Harry wrote that he would be working. Right now, he wasn't sure when he would get to see her. Apart from learning at St Mungo's, he was also studying a lot, for everything he needed to know about healing and everything that he normally would learn for his newts. He was glad that Bailey wasn't making him take his newts. He just wouldn't have time right now which would have meant returning to Hogwarts for a year before he started his apprenticeship. If no one would have taken him on, he would have left the country to try to finish his education away from his fame. He was just pleased that Bailey decided to take a chance with him.

Bailey had arrived the following morning to explain that he worked it for Harry to arrive by floo in his office. Since everyone found out Harry was now an apprentice healer, the waiting room was crowded with people hoping to see him. Harry will now be able to come and go from St Mungo's without anyone seeing him.

Harry did date, he did take a few woman up on their offers and had a good time with them. He was wary that they might want something from him or they really wanted marriage, they didn't. He was also thinking about pregnancy, but Bailey explained about the potion he could take so he would not be able to get any woman pregnant until he took the anti-dote. That made Harry feel a lot better about seeing these woman. Many said that this was something they could give Harry for everything he did. He gave them just as much as a good time as they gave him.

Hermione found out that Harry did get one day off a week, but when she wrote and asked if they could meet, Harry wrote that his day off was the only time he could spend time studying. Night time he only got a couple of hours. They would just have to work on a time to get together once she had finished Hogwarts.

Harry didn't know it but Hermione was hoping Harry would change his mind about dating Ginny. If Harry could have met her in Hogsmeade, Hermione would make sure Ginny joined them before she made an excuse to leave.

Hermione realised she could not tell Harry to take time away from studying as it was something she would not do. She would just have to hope they could see each other during the Christmas holidays.

Harry continued to have the odd date with those woman who just wanted to enjoy their time now it was safe. He never accepted any dates from the girls he knew from Hogwarts mainly because most of them had believed the lies and rumours. The only person he did see from his time at Hogwarts was Luna, they had lunch after she had come in to see a healer. That was during the Christmas holidays.

No matter what Hermione or Molly wrote, Harry did not turn up at the Burrow for Christmas. They did find out he was working on Christmas day and only patients could get into the wards. They did ask if someone could tell Harry they were in the waiting room. He sent a message back saying he was busy, he just didn't have time to leave right now.

It was only a few months later that a rumour went around about Harry dating a tall blond woman. The Daily Prophet had taken to following Harry whenever they could, one day they got lucky and saw Harry sitting with a man about fifty years old, Bailey and a young woman. They had no idea if Harry was dating her but they wanted to write something.

The following evening when Harry got home from work, he found another pile of letters. The one from Hermione asked about who he was dating. The one from Molly called the woman a hussy. Harry banished that letter straight away. He tossed up whether to answer Hermione since she basically ordered him to tell. He decided not to answer as it had nothing to do with anyone if he was dating someone or not.

It was the last day of Hogwarts before the summer holidays that everyone found out that Harry Potter was engaged to be married. The woman was a tall blond, the daughter of Bailey Cowan, Harry was doing his apprentice under Bailey Cowan.

It happened when Bailey asked Harry to join him for dinner at his home. That's when Harry met Jade, Bailey's daughter. They got on straight away and one thing Harry liked about her, apart from the fact she was beautiful but also very intelligent, she didn't stare at his scar or ask about Voldemort. She was in her second year as a trainee healer. It wasn't allowed for a healer to take on a family member so jade was learning under another healer.

Hermione realised when she never received a response from Harry that she had basically tried to order him to tell her things. He was an adult and it wasn't her right to know anything, not unless he wanted to tell her. She really hoped Harry would go back to Ginny but now Harry was engaged to a beautiful blond woman who was also training as a healer. She realised that Harry and the woman had a lot in common.

Harry found two love potions attached to two different letters right after it was announced that Harry was engaged. There was no writing, so Harry just sent them into the fireplace. Harry decided to give Luna an interview so people would know that his home was warded and he had also been taught how to detect things like potions or curses on his mail. He destroyed them but next time, he planned to give them to the aurors to deal with.

Harry did get a letter from Hermione, apologising to him for how she sounded in her last letter. It was Harry's choice who he dated and who he married. She still wanted to see him but now she was out of Hogwarts, maybe they could work on a time to get together. She did write that her and Ron didn't stay together. Without Harry around, all they did was fight which eventually made them want to be apart, not together. Harry never thought Hermione and Ron would last as a couple but as it was their private life, he could not get involved. He did write back to Hermione this time. He accepted her apology and said he would try to work on a time for when he could meet up with Hermione. He would be able to introduce her to his fiance. He couldn't say when, not when he was either learning and working at St Mungo's, then all the studying he had to do.

It was only two months later that Hermione arrived at a beautiful country home for Harry's wedding. Many people were there that she knew and some she was close to, like George Weasley and his girlfriend, Angelina Johnson. There were the other girls that used to play quidditch with Harry. Lee Jordan was also there along with Luna Lovegood and Susan Bones. She was dating dean Thomas so he was there as well. Kingsley was there along with his two auror guards. There were a lot of people she didn't know, which were friends of the brides. It was the father of the bride that spoke to Hermione then directed her to one of the rooms, where she found Harry along with Neville.

Hermione stared at her friend, who hadn't noticed she entered the room. He went from a very small, skinny messy haired boy to a very nice looking man. Hermione finally made her way over to Harry and instantly hugged him.

'I've missed you,' Hermione said softly.

'I've missed you as well. I've finally finished my first year of training so I get an extra day off once I return from my honeymoon.'

'I read the story about how you met. That told me you two have a lot in common.'

'We do but she just seems to get me Hermione. If she wants to go out for dinner, she instantly makes a reservation in a muggle restaurant.'

'Which you would do so you wouldn't get stared at.'

'Exactly. So, did you bring a date?'

'No, apart from getting settled into my job, no one has taken my interest, yet.'

'You always wanted to get settled into your career before you thought of marriage so it makes sense you'd do the same with dating. At least there are a lot of guests that you know.'

'There are, I was surprised. But I should go down with the other guests ready to see you get married.'

Harry kissed Hermione's cheek, gave her another hug before she left the room.

'It's actually time mate,' Neville said which made Harry smile.

Everyone at the wedding thought the bride was beautiful and they also saw just how Harry could not take his eyes of the women he was about to marry.

Luna had already written a story for the Quibbler to be released in a few days. That day and that night, there would be a lot of photo's taken and many of them would be in the Quibbler. The whole magazine would be dedicated to the saviour of the wizarding world marrying the woman he loved.

Luna knew that copy of the magazine would end up a collectors item. Harry knew this as well but he realised if he didn't release the story and a few pictures, then some of the guests might.

Harry stayed standing beside his wife as they spoke with many of their friends. It wasn't just friends though, Harry also invited people he worked with, but he also invited some of the staff of Hogwarts.

He couldn't help feeling happy but also content. It seems he finally got the life he always hoped.

Hermione stood with Neville. The two of them couldn't stop watching Harry.

'You can see it, he's happy,' Hermione said smiling as she stared at her friend.

'He is, very happy and very relaxed. I don't think I've ever see Harry look so content before. I also don't think I've ever seen him smile like he is right now.'

'No, he never really smiled, not a smile that reached his eyes. It's there, in his eyes, it shows just how happy he is. I can see a long and loving relationship for Harry and Jade.'

'I see that, along with a large bunch of little Potter's running around.'

The two friends smiled as they thought of the children their friend would have in the future. One thing they both believed, those children would not be to far away.

It was a week later that a guard at Azkaban dropped copies of the Quibbler in a heap of cells. The first cell he went to was the one that held Severus Snape. He had been told that the cell he was now occupying used the house Sirius Black. Now Severus Snape was seeing pictures of Harry Potter as he married a beautiful woman.

The scream that was heard all through Azkaban made the human guards laugh.

Harry Potter finally got back at Severus Snape, even if he didn't know it.

The end:
