Story Start!
No zombies in the water.
The pump was actually still in working order, all he needed to do was to get the power back on, which wasn't as hard as you would think. He just used a car battery that he had stored in the back of the RV to power it, it wouldn't last forever, but it would last more than long enough for everyone to enjoy fresh, clean, hot springs water for a bath.
'The others haven't shown up yet... but I haven't heard any gunshots either, so they might just have gotten delayed. It isn't sun down yet... so... I won't go out looking for them yet.' Naruto wanted to have faith that all of the other groups would manage to get their jobs done and come back. "Rei... do you... Rei?"
"The water looks so nice." Rei was sitting at the edge of the water with her clothes on, dirty, and she was barely able to stop herself from stripping down and jumping in. "Alice, it will be real nice to bath." Rei spoke to the younger girl.
Naruto coughed.
"Actually, for safety reasons, Alice will be taking a bath with me. If a zombie breaks into the hot springs, I'm the best bet for keeping her safe." Naruto didn't want to be judged as a pervert who wanted to take a bath with a little girl, but at the same time they were in a situation where he didn't feel Alice taking her bath with the other girls was very smart. If something happened, he was the absolute best option to keep her safe.
"Oh..."
'Here comes the pervert...' Naruto was prepared to go into further detail.
"Makes sense, as long as Alice is okay with it, it sounds fine." Rei... didn't insult him or call him a pervert. He looked at her with a moment of surprise, before he looked at Asami, who was a bit more uncomfortable with his suggestion.
Not for the reason he thought.
'He's right, if zombies break in, we would be defenseless. I'm not the greatest shot, and the gun wouldn't be as good in the bath... I want to take a bath with him, so he can keep me safe too.' Asami was now a little nervous to go into the hot springs without protection. She would be butt naked, surrounding only by her fellow unarmed girls. If zombies broke in, they wouldn't be able to react fast enough or with enough raw force to take care of the threat.
Alice, bathing with Naruto, put her in the safest position since she had a body guard who could crush a head with his bare hands.
Rei blinked.
'... Actually... he's right... He is the best bet for keeping her safe... but who will keep us safe... shouldn't he have told us he was going to take a bath with us too?' Rei blinked and looked at Naruto again with a frown. She dipped her hand in the hot water, and she looked at her wavering reflection. '... I mean, he's the leader... is he trying to think about our... my feelings.' Rei smiled when she got it.
Naruto didn't force mixed bathing on them, because he wanted to make them able to relax and feel comfortable being naked. He couldn't be the one to suggest it.
"You know... maybe we should all take a bath together, and then when the others get here, me and Asami can protect the girls. That way the girl's bath won't be unarmed." Rei suggested after thinking about it.
"That sounds great!" Alice agreed.
Asami blushed.
'... I agree, but... he's still a guy...' Asami forced a smile. Her feelings on the matter were very conflicted. The difference between comfort and safety, and the line between them where you had a little of both, but couldn't fully get them both was obvious.
Naruto glanced away from Rei's eyes.
"Rei..."
"Oh come on, it's fine isn't it?"
-10 Minutes Later-
'It isn't fine... she is way to comfortable being naked in front of me.' Naruto kept his eyes off of Rei as she leaned over a rock, with her butt peeking out of the water. Steam didn't do much to hide details of her ass, and while her boobs were touching the rock she leaned over, the only thing that did was hide her nipples.

She knew he was more athletic than Takashi, she had seen his unclothed chest before, but seeing it glistening with water just did things.
Asami's eyes widened and she sank deeper into the water.
'Why did he have to be hot... why couldn't he have been average... he needs to cut his hair. Calm down Asami... you and your boyfriend just broke up because you sucked as a police officer... still...' Asami looked away from Naruto. She looked at Rei, who was slowly moving so that she was sitting in the water, with her breasts floating slightly.
Rei was staring now.

Rei did not hear him.

Naruto stopped and glanced down.
It was hard to say.
"... If you died?"
"If she was alive, and I died... I would want her to be happy. I would be jealous of whoever she fell in love with next, but... I would... I think I might wish them the best." Naruto had never been in that position, so he didn't really know what he would do or how he would react. "... a heart can love more than one person."
Rei smiled and looked down.
"... You're right..."
"Still, I know she would never do that. Hinata would carry me in her heart and die alone, with my memory keeping her happy... as much as I would want her to find somebody else, I know she would never do it." Naruto smiled softly. "I could be watching over her, wishing for her to move on... but she would just be waiting for the day we meet again." Naruto closed his eyes.
Asami smiled.
That was so romantic.
"It is... I know Hisashi would want me to be happy, and... when I started to date Hisashi, Takashi seemed to just... accept it, like he wanted me to be happy. I've fallen in love with 3 men in my life." Rei sank into the water.
Alice was paying super close attention to what was happening.
"Takashi seems like a good guy. He's a little immature, and a little rash... but he seems like his heart is in the right place, even if his head isn't there yet." Naruto agreed with Takashi accepting things. He could tell that Rei loved Takashi very dearly, but she wanted to move on from him as well. "... So... why do you want to move on from him?" Naruto asked Rei.
Like he read her mind.
Rei frowned.
"He's immature, and he doesn't know how to comfort a girl when she needs comforting. He doesn't know how to read people well at all, and he is beyond dense... he's a good guy, I love him... but... he hasn't matured at all since we were kids. I... I dumped him, because he wasn't there for me when I needed him most... he abandoned me when I needed him, and when he killed Hisashi... he tried to die fighting zombies... he would be dead if I didn't beg him to stay." Rei explained.
Asami was listening now very intently too.
"... Go on?" Naruto would lend an air to her.
...
"I... I want a man, not a boy. I want a man who will be there to protect me when I need him. Takashi... I love him, but he... he isn't like you Naruto."
"Me?"
"Yes, you... you came into our lives, saved us. You're trying to keep us happy, and healthy, and alive... you're shouldering all our burdens, and not complaining about it. You stand, so tall and strong in the face of challenge, and you smile." Rei stood up and looked down at him.
Everyone was showing.
Naruto listened.
Rei had tears in her eyes.
"... You are everything I wished Takashi would be when I dumped him. You, you..." Rei was starting to raise her voice as she spoke. "... I feel, protected, and safe when you're around. Your words are so soothing. When you speak, I just believe in you. I barely know you, but you're just a good man that even though I barely know anything about you, I know my life is so much better because you're in it."
Naruto looked away from her.
"... I'm sorry I'm causing you to feel so conflicted." Naruto understood now.
"See! You listened to me, and you understand why I'm hurting. You're so strong, and emotionally mature... how can any woman in a situation like this... not fall for you. How can you expect a woman to not look to you for strength... when you have it in such abundance." Rei stopped when Naruto stood up.
He stood much taller than her.
Naruto wrapped his arms around her and brought her in close.
"See... do you see... you know what I needed to feel better. I feel safe... in a world like this now, this is what I want."
'I'm so jealous.' Asami couldn't stop herself.
She wanted to be where Rei was right now.

"... also... yeah, that is just big enough to get the job done too." Rei pushed off slightly and looked down at what she felt pressing up against her. She smiled in a very cheeky way at Naruto, showing that she was happy she had that physical effect on him.
"Perv."
Rei smiled.
"Yep, I'm..."
"Alice is right behind you."
Rei's eyes widened and she realized that now was not the time to be flirting and trying to compliment Naruto's member. She panicked for a moment and moved to sit down, but ended up smacking herself in the face with his penis. Naruto sat down too much more slowly, his face red from the entire ordeal.
The mood had shifted.
'Holy... I thought my boyfriend's 7 centimeters was normal sized... Rei just described THAT as about average 'just big enough to get the job done'. That twice as long as my ex's was.' Asami was blushing up a storm when she managed to mentally compare.
She thought her boyfriend had been about average.

The bath didn't last much longer before they all had to get out for the heat.
Just in time for the others to arrive.

To the idiot that says I'm bashing Takashi, you're an idiot.
I like him.
I'm using Takashi's traits from BEFORE you became a group leader and MATURED.
I am using the traits that Rei stated she dumped him over when they were dating.
Takashi MATURED as he became the group leader in canon, and even as he matured, he still had flaws. In this story, he didn't become the group leader, so all the flaws that Takashi had that caused Rei to dump him for Hisashi... he STILL has those flaws.
I'm not bashing him, he just didn't get the same chance to develop that he got in canon, because Naruto is a better leader, and took the leadership role before Takashi could take it, and it could help him mature as a person.
