Welcome back again everyone to another chapter of Eclipse. Things are really starting to heat up but will Nabu be able to take the heat? What peril will his actions bring to his doorstep and I guess the question we're all asking ourselves is how in the world SG-1 will respond to our little parasitic friend? Question that may or may not be answered but I do hope you enjoy the story so far. There is one question I would like to answer though because last chapter did do something some of y'all don't understand.

Nabu, when he almost collapsed. Y'all were probably wondering why that happened? Well let me ask you this. What happens when a Goa'uld doesn't use the Sarcophagus often? The rest shall be revealed in short order. Thank you for your time and I hope you enjoy Chapter 10 of Eclipse: Conquering Min.

8,993 BCE, Akhmim

The moonless night cloaked Akhmim in shadows, a fitting canvas for the silent war brewing within its sprawling slave barracks and austere temples. Ghalrik stood atop a crumbling parapet overlooking the mining pits, his sharp eyes scanning the movements below. The faint glow of naquadah lanterns dotted the landscape, casting eerie light over the skeletal forms of weary slaves dragging their tools through the dirt.

To an untrained observer, it was an unremarkable scene of Goa'uld oppression. To Ghalrik, a trained Sicari Jaffa, it was the battlefield he had been preparing for.

His armor, stripped of the usual Goa'uld embellishments, blended seamlessly into the rocky outcroppings around him. Every piece of his gear was chosen with care, designed to reflect neither light nor sound. Even his staff weapon, a traditional symbol of Jaffa might, had been replaced with a compact, silent blade better suited for infiltration and sabotage.

The whispers of rebellion were everywhere now. Ghalrik's Sicari operatives, spread across Akhmim's slave quarters, had been stoking the flames of dissent for months. Whispers of freedom, of justice, of vengeance against the Underlord Min spread like wildfire among the desperate and downtrodden. The seeds of chaos were taking root.

Ghalrik's orders were clear: observe, destabilize, and prepare the ground for Nabu's strike. The time for overt action was near, but for now, subtlety remained their most potent weapon.

From his vantage point, Ghalrik watched as a group of slaves huddled near the base of a quarry, their hushed voices carrying just enough for his enhanced hearing to catch fragments.

"...the guards didn't notice the missing shipment. The others say the next one will vanish too."

"The overseer grows suspicious... we must be careful."

"Careful? Or cowardly? If we do nothing, we die as slaves. Better to die fighting."

Ghalrik's lips twitched into a faint smile. The rebellion was gaining confidence. Soon, they would be ready to strike. He descended silently from the parapet, landing with practiced ease on the uneven ground below. Moving like a shadow through the labyrinth of pathways, he approached a concealed alcove where his fellow Sicari operatives awaited his report.

"The slaves are restless," he said, his voice low and measured. "They've begun acting independently. It won't be long before they're ready."

One of the operatives, a human woman named Selka, nodded. Her face was hidden beneath a hood, but her sharp eyes gleamed with determination. "The overseers are nervous. One of them tried to punish a slave this morning, but the others intervened. They're testing their limits."

Ghalrik nodded, his mind racing. The balance of power was shifting. Soon, the rebellion would ignite, drawing Min's forces into chaos. But that chaos had to be controlled, channeled toward Nabu's ultimate goal.

"Selka, double the guard sabotage teams," he ordered. "Take out the barracks' communication relays tonight. Make it look like an accident. We'll cut them off piece by piece. No one escapes when the time comes."

She inclined her head and slipped away, her movements as silent as the wind. Ghalrik turned to the other operatives. "Ensure the rebellion's leaders know the plan. When the signal comes, they're to focus their efforts on the mines and storage depots. Destroy resources and capture key overseers. I'll handle the guards at the temple."

The operatives saluted and vanished into the night, leaving Ghalrik alone with his thoughts. The weight of responsibility pressed on him, but he relished the challenge. He had sworn his loyalty to Nabu, a god unlike any other. A god who understood the value of precision and subtlety. A god who would rise above the chaos of the System Lords.

The night stretched on as Ghalrik made his way toward the heart of Akhmim. He would oversee the final preparations himself. For when Nabu's fleet arrived, Akhmim would already be broken, and Min's reign would end in a storm of fire and shadows.

Standing at the helm of my upgraded Ha'tak, I gazed out into the haze of blue hues that was the hyperspace we travelled on our way to Akhmim.

"My Lord, we will arrive in a few minutes." I couldn't help the grim smile that stretched across my lips, contorting them into a visage that dissuaded approach from most of my followers.

Lishtir was left to defend Avaris with my Advisors acting to keep my people calm in my absence. I needed to learn to trust them on their own as my empire grew and so this was the perfect chance to test their abilities. The more worlds I obtained and conquered the more they would be required to operate independently of me and I needed them to ensure the people stayed in line.

"Very good. When we arrive, ensure to act as instructed. We will not come all this way to fail to such a weak God." Turning on my heel, I return to my seat at the helm of my current flagship.

I barely had time to upgrade the Ha'tak that flew adjacent to us but it was now at the same level as the ship I had procured from Marduk during my invasion of Avaris. Both, together, able to withstand the might of 5 Ha'tak and have a chance of victory. With the acquisition of Akhmim and its orbital shipyard, I would fashion a fleet that would decimate the forces of the other Minor Lords.

Granted it would take years to construct each new Ha'tak, I could easily construct a fleet of Al'kesh and Tel'tak without too much trouble. I just needed a steady supply of additional resources. Resources that the planets of Min would provide. Soon, I would have everything that I needed in order to steadily begin my growth and set myself down the path of becoming a Goa'uld System Lord.

'All in good time.' I couldn't help the sigh of exhilaration that escaped my lips.

'You sure you don't want to utilize the sarcophagus? Before a battle like this, wouldn't you want to be at your best?' A shiver ran down my spine at the thought. Using that thing made everything worse. The thoughts, the memories, using Thoth's legacy so eagerly…no.

'You know why I do not wish to do such Abdul.'

'Right, of course. Just thought I'd help.' As if a spike of ice had pierced my flesh, a shiver ran through my body.

'That Thing does nothing but harm. I can feel it, corrupting us from within. I will not use it unless it is to save our lives.' I could feel Abdul retreat to the back of my mind. Good timing too as we exited hyperspace right on schedule.

The silence of space, as stars glittered like gold in the vast emptiness of the void were interrupted as a hyperspace window opened and two gargantuan Ha'tak-Class warships appeared behind one of the many moons of Akhmim.

"We are detecting 3 Ha'tak-Class vessels in orbit over the planet my Lord."

"Send a message to Avaris. We will strike in one hour." With a nod, Mor'ak departed to contact Avaris.

The plan was simple in nature and that would be the simplicity of how I conquer the holdings of Min and claim a true holding in this galaxy.

It didn't take long for reports from my Sicari on Akhmim started sending reports as the viewing screen before me was filled with scenes of chaos and disarray. The slaves had begun their revolt.

"Perfect, Min will fall. As soon as enemy Ha'tak turn to the planet, attack." I couldn't help the shift in my tone that caused the Jaffa around me to shift away. Not one to usually bask in the destruction of others, this act and watching the fall of a rival really scratched an itch that I didn't even know I had.

"My Lord, we have begun our ground invasion through the Chaapa'ai."

All of my carefully laid pieces were starting to come together. With a subtle lurch, we began our approach to Akhmim.

"Readings show that the weapons of the enemy Ha'tak are activating."

"Begin assault of the enemy as soon as we are within range, they won't be able to stop us. Disable but don't destroy. I want those Ha'tak salvageable! Cha'hai Jaffa! Victory is with us." The joy watching this unfold was giving me almost left me breathless.

Once Min's Ha'tak saw our approach it was too late. With two upgraded warships we easily took out their shields before they got either of ours below fifty percent.

"We're being hailed, my Lord." I nod to the Jaffa as a projection from the Ha'tak comes through and a ruffled Goa'uld glared through at me.

"Nabu! You have dared to trespass upon my domain and assault my fleet. Explain yourself, now, or face the wrath of a true god!" My eyes glow with subtle frustration as I lean forward in my chair. Never letting the arrogant grin leave my contorted lips.

I continue, calm, keeping my tone level with a hint of amusement at the disarray I could see taking place behind Min.

"Min, your 'fleet' lies in ruins, and your armies scatter like leaves in the wind. If this is the wrath of a true god, then surely the slaves would have conquered us all by now."

Min could only glare in response to my amused taunt.

"You have made a grave mistake, Nabu. I am allied with powers greater than you can imagine. Surrender now, and perhaps I shall show you mercy!" His voice thick with hatred but not without the arrogance befitting a child of Isis.

"Mercy? From you? Spare me your empty threats, Min. You and I both know Lady Isis cannot save you anymore and it is time for you to learn your place." I eye the Jaffa next to me. "Jaffa! Prepare to fire." The command, simple and curt but the implications caused Min to shake in frustration through the viewing screen before me.

"You insolent whelp. You would dare destroy your elder. I was there when-"

"Enough Min. You are nothing. You never meant anything to anyone, least of all Lady Isis. You are an embarrassment to all Goa'uld and I would be doing the rest of our brothers and sisters a service by removing your stain from the galaxy." Min's face contorted as he processed my statement was amusing if not unsettling. His expression shifting from arrogance to frustration to resignation was a sight to behold before it settled in bound determination.

"You will gain nothing from me usurper. I will lock my gate and you know not of my other worlds-" I quickly cut him off again.

"Your territory was mine the moment I chose to take it. Your life is mine now as well… unless, of course, you wish to discuss an arrangement." That got a reaction. I could see the gears of self-preservation working within his mind as I made my proposition.

"What… arrangement?"

"Serve me, Min. Swear your loyalty and your remaining forces to my banner. Prostrate yourself before your new master, and I may allow you to retain some shred of your dignity. Resist, and I will erase your name from the stars."

Min's lips curled back, a guttural sound rumbling in his throat as his hand tightened into a fist, the movement sharp and deliberate. He held still for a moment, the tension radiating from him even through the wavering screen. His gaze flickered to the side, his jaw working as though grinding unspoken words between his teeth. The defiance in his posture warred with the flicker of calculation behind his eyes, a silent struggle betraying his temptation to consider the offer.

"I am a GOD! I kneel to no one." I instinctively snared back, standing from my throne.

"Tek'ma'tek, shak'ka kree!" Min froze, his posture stiffening as the weight of the words settled over him. His eyelids pulled back, revealing the whites of his eyes, and his lips parted soundlessly. A shallow breath escaped him, his chest barely rising as if the air had been stolen from the room. Even the shimmering holographic projection of his image seemed to flicker, as though reflecting his faltering resolve.

"And if I refuse?" His words, a challenge to my authority. Something I would not allow.

"Then you will die, and your Jaffa will swear loyalty to me regardless. I will ensure your name is spoken only as a cautionary tale—a warning of what happens to those who defy me. The choice is yours, Min, though I suspect you already know the answer."

There was a moment, held by a hairpin thread. The only sound being the gentle roll of the engines as Min considered his options. He nodded to himself before taking a knee within the Pel'tak of his Ha'tak.

"Then I am yours to command my Lord."

"Very good, repair your fleet. I will observe my new domain in due time." With that the communication was cut short and I released a breath I hadn't realized I was holding. My breath escaping me like air from a compressed canister.

After returning to Avaris to perform my own repairs I took stock of my new acquisitions. Min had three worlds under his banner, all of which now fell under me.

Akhmim, the first of Min's worlds and his primary holding, was a mining world, rich in Naquadah but poor in service. His slaves were run ragged and that was going to be an issue. I needed a stable workforce that wanted to work. I would provide the addresses to these worlds to my advisors and allow the humans to decide for themselves what would provide me the resources I needed without overworking the population. The current workforce on the planet needed to be cycled out though.

Those in the mines looked as if they hadn't eaten in weeks when I walked through and that would have to change. Luckily I had just acquired an agricultural world that would provide me the supplies with which to keep my people well fed. Qift. The second of my new holdings was a world with an atmosphere rich in nitrogen. The element that would ensure the world provided quality food. It was obviously one of many requirements but the world met most to maintain a stable supply of nutrition for my people.

Coptos was the final world of Min's and it didn't seem like much from my observations. A simple mining world rich in gold and iron but nothing of much note. Scans showed pockets of Naquadah throughout the world so perhaps moving the Chaapa'ai would be in order.

I shook my head to rustle those thoughts. Now was not the time for thoughts on logistics. What I should focus on was that I had made progress towards my goal and that was what mattered.

Min would serve me and maintain the resource output of Coptos and Akhmim while I used the shipyard to begin the construction of my upgraded Ha'tak. It would take close to five years to complete each but starting now would only increase the overall quantity of my warships.

The next step was to allow the shipyard to construct Ha'tak and Al'kesh in tandem with each other. That would provide the most benefit to me.

Speaking of warships. I was in a meeting now with my advisors as we discussed the new additions to our assets.

Jahred was first to speak, his tone unwavering and features nigh unreadable. He really felt like a machine in these moments but he always was the most direct with his assessments. As one of the first to really begin learning about Goa'uld engineering and learning it quite quickly in the last decade he acted as my second set of eyes in terms of my forces. One of many reasons he remained my advisor throughout these years.

"My Lord, the acquisition of the three Ha'tak vessels represents a pivotal milestone in our campaign. From my analysis, they are in prime operational condition, their weapons systems functional, and their shields at 90% efficiency. However, preliminary diagnostics suggest areas for improvement, particularly within their power cores and shield arrays…" Raising my hand, I bid him pause.

"I am aware of their inability to compete with our current warships. They will be refitted to match our current fleet within time." Pausing as he nodded in acknowledgement before I bade him continue.

"Nothing more to report Lord." He sat back down before Minura took her stand, her hands on the table as she leaned forward in fervent excitement that reminded me why she was the head of our religious activities and Master of Ceremonies on Avaris.

"My Lord, these ships are not merely weapons of war—they are symbols of your divine providence. I wish to hold a celebration of your success, inviting the peoples of the various other worlds or holding similar such celebrations will no doubt show your new subjects your greatness." I nod slowly. Minura was frightening with her devotion however well placed its origin.

"Minura. While the celebration is a wonderful idea, I feel we should slowly bring my new subjects into the fold as we have the people of Avaris. Bringing them enlightenment is our mission and all three of you will visit each world to ensure they are adequately educated in the matter of their Gods."

All three nodded before Anwar began his piece.

"My Lord, these ships are a powerful addition to our fleet, but with all new weapons comes the need for vigilance. We must ensure their crews are loyal to you alone. Many of the Jaffa who once served Min may still harbor doubts or divided loyalties. I recommend redistributing key positions on the Ha'tak to your trusted Jaffa, with Sicari operatives embedded among them to monitor for dissent. Additionally, we must station these ships strategically—two in orbit over Avaris to safeguard our holdings and one on patrol along the border with Min's remaining territory. This way, we can fortify our current position while preparing for future offensives."

Taking in the information, I allowed Abdul to mull it over as well before speaking.

"Anwar, identify Jaffa trained in the ways of Sicari and embed them within the Ha'tak and coordinate with Lishtir to ensure we have Jaffa on each vessel. Minura, coordinate with the local religious leaders of each world and ensure they are educated. Get Priestess Noor to accompany you, I wish for her to begin learning the tools of your trade as well. Meanwhile, Jahred, I need you to contact Mor'ak to ensure the upgrades are made and begin learning the new modification process I've developed and find a way to develop a curriculum that can educate other Avarian's to do the same. I want my people to be able to contribute to the empire as well as Jaffa."

With a wave of my hand, I dismiss everyone. My advisors, departing the chamber quickly to complete each of their assigned tasks.

It was starting to look up. Now with 4 worlds and 5 Ha'tak to my name, I actually stood to accomplish the challenge issued to me by Lady Egeria.

Alrighty, I'm going to start putting stuff down here at the bottom so please make sure you take a peak before leaving. I'll translate Goa'uld words down here and be showing you all of Nabu's holdings after each chapter so you all can see his growth throughout the story. Just know that there will be spoilers down here from here on out so please read the chapter before getting to this point.
