Chapter 127: The Pokémon Beauty Pageant
Hello everyone, this chapter will have the group enter a Beauty Pageant and meet someone who's a friend of Casey and Jimmy. Sorry for the late upload and I hope you all enjoy!
The chapter takes place 2 days after the last chapter ended as the group still make their way towards Goldenrod City. During this time, it's been pretty relaxing for the group. After Ash's Chikorita evolved into a Bayleef she's grown stronger and receives good training from Ash's other grass types. Bayleef along with Sneasel's relationship with each other has improved too as they've become a lot closer. They still sometimes compete for Ash's attention but it's a lot healthier compared to before. Back at the Ketchum residence Ash's Meowscarada has been watching a lot of Beauty Pageants on the TV with Ash's mom Delia which makes Meowscarada interested in them. Ash has also taught Meowscarada a new move as well. We now come into present time and see the gang walking through a town. As they continue to walk they see a bunch of people over at a building making them curious as Misty speaks.
"I wonder what's going on over there?" Misty says as Ash speaks.
"Let's go see." Ash says with the group nodding as they begin walking over towards the building. When they make it, they see a bunch of people putting their Pokémon in many different types of beautiful outfits. The group look around as Ash speaks.
"What's going on here? Why are people putting their Pokémon in different dresses?" Ash asks as Brock speaks.
"This is just my assumption but. I believe this place is having a Beauty Pageant." Brock answers and when Ash along with Misty are about to ask him another question, they then hear a voice.
"Yep, you're 100% right." The voice says making the group turn their heads to the right as they see a girl with Capri hair that's around Ash and Misty's age. She's wearing a white open jacket with a red T-Shirt underneath, grey shorts, and blue shoes. The girl looks at the group as Misty speaks.
"A Beauty Pageant?" Misty asks with the girl nodding as she speaks.
"Yep, once a year the town here holds a beauty pageant to see who's the most beautiful Pokémon." The girl says with the group nodding as Ash speaks.
"So, that's why people are dressing up their Pokémon." Ash says with the girl nodding. Ash then feels one of his Pokeball's wriggle as Meowscarada comes out of her Pokeball. Meowscarada looks around seeing multiple Pokémon in dresses and has an excited look on her face as the girl speaks.
"Seems like your Meowscarada's interested." The girl says with Ash nodding as she continues to speak.
"Oh, I should probably introduce myself my name's Marina and I'm from New Bark Town." Marina says with the group nodding as they introduce themselves as well. When they do Marina remembers something and speaks.
"Those names. Wait are you guys the ones that traveled with Casey?" Marina asks with the group nodding as Misty speaks.
"Do you know Casey?" Misty asks with Marina nodding as she speaks.
"Yep, she along with Jimmy and me are childhood friends. Casey told me that you helped her at the start of her journey." Marina responds with the group nodding as Brock speaks.
"Well, this is a surprise I wasn't expecting to meet another childhood friend of Casey's." Brock says with Ash and Misty saying the same as Marina speaks.
"We have another childhood friend named Vincent who's also traveling around the Johto region and is going to compete in the Johto League." Marina says with the group nodding as Ash speaks.
"Are you competing in the Johto League too Marina?" Ash asks as Marina speaks.
"Oh no I'm currently taking on the contest in the Johto region." Marina responds as Ash speaks.
"Contest? I feel like I've heard that before." Ash says as Misty speaks.
"Back in the Breeder competition that Brock participated in back in Kanto it was mentioned, and I also remember hearing that Ms. Platinum took on Contest too." Misty says with Ash and Brock nodding as Brock looks at Marina and speaks.
"So, that makes you a coordinator." Brock says with Marina nodding as she speaks.
"Yep, currently I only have 2 ribbons and need 3 more in order to enter the Johto Grand Festival." Marina says as she shows the ribbons to the group, making them look at them as Misty speaks.
"Looks like you're almost there." Misty says with Marina nodding as Ash speaks.
"Hey, Marina since you have 3 more left aren't you in a hurry to get the last 3?" Ash asks as Marina speaks.
"My next contest is going to be in Azalea Town, but on my way there, I heard about this place and decided that if could be some good training for my Pokémon." Marina responds as Ash speaks.
"How can a Beauty Pageant be good training for your next contest?" Ash asks as Marina speaks.
"Well, you see in contest while there is battling it mainly focuses on the appeal/beauty of your Pokémon, and I think this pageant can help with that." Marina responds with Ash nodding as Marina looks at Ash and speaks.
"So, Ash are you going to enter too? Because your Meowscarada seems to be very interested." Marina asks, making the group look over at the mon as Ash speaks.
"I don't know Beauty Pageants aren't really my thing I mainly prefer battling." Ash responds with Marina nodding as she speaks.
"Oh, in that case I think you can still enter Ash as for this competition if you make it pass the pageant round there's also a battle round too and whoever wins that will get to be in a magazine and have their Pokémon be announced the most beautiful Pokémon in this town for a year." Marina says with Ash nodding as he still isn't too interested but then looks over at Meowscarada who's still looking around. After thinking for a few more seconds Ash speaks.
"Okay I'll enter as this could be good training for my Pokémon, Meowscarada seems interested, and this also gives us a chance to try out the new move that she learned." Ash responds as Misty speaks.
"I'm going to enter too as it sounds like fun." Misty says making Marina happy as she speaks.
"Nice I'm happy to hear that let's go register." Marina says with the group nodding as they walk over to the desk where they can register. When they make it to the desk, they each receive a paper where the first page has the group write down what Pokémon they'll use for the beauty pageant/battle (they can only use one). When the group is done with that the receptionist takes them to a dressing room where they can find the perfect dress that their Pokémon will wear for the Beauty Pageant. The group see a bunch of different outfits as Ash speaks.
"Wow I've never seen so many clothes in one spot before." Ash says with Pikachu, Meowscarada, Misty, Togetic and Brock agreeing with him as Marina speaks.
"Okay I'm going to go find the perfect outfit for my Pokémon I'll see you guys later." Marina says with the group nodding as she begins walking over to a different part of the room, Misty speaks.
"I'm going to leave too. Let's go Togetic." Misty says with Togetic nodding as they begin walking away Brock speaks.
"Seeing as I'm not competing, I'm going to be in the audience. Ash, I wish you along with Misty luck." Brock says with Ash nodding as Brock leaves. After that Ash along with Pikachu and Meowscarada begin walking forward as Ash speaks.
"Man, I don't know what outfit to pick. Do you see anything you like Meowscarada?" Ash asks as Meowscarada begins looking at the outfits and doesn't know what to choose either. A few seconds later 4 of Ash's Pokeball's wriggle as his Alolan Raichu, Alolan Ninetales, Bayleef and Hisuian Sneasel come out surprising the boy as Ash speaks.
"Raichu, Ninetales, Bayleef and Sneasel why'd you come out?" Ash asks as the 4 mons say that they want to help out Meowscarada. The 4 mons walk over to Meowscarada asking her what kind of outfit/color she would like. After Meowscarada tells them Raichu uses Psychic, Ninetales begins using her tails, Bayleef uses Vine Whip beginning to grab multiple outfits while Sneasel uses Quick Attack running around the room to pick out some outfits as well. When the 4 mons are done, they hand them to Meowscarada so that she can try them on. Meowscarada looks at the 4-mons saying thank you with Raichu, Ninetales, Bayleef and Sneasel nodding.
Meowscarada then goes into a room and begins trying on multiple outfits. As Meowscarada's trying them on so far none of them look/feel right. 30 minutes later Meowscarada continues to try on different outfits and still hasn't found the right one. Then just when Meowscarada's about to give up she manages to find the perfect outfit, making her smile. A few seconds later Meowscarada comes out of the dressing room and when she does the group look at her as they see her wearing a purple magician's outfit. Ash, Pikachu, Raichu, Ninetales, Bayleef, and Sneasel smile as Ash speaks.
"That looks perfect on you Meowscarada." Ash says with Pikachu, Raichu, Ninetales, Bayleef, and Sneasel agreeing with him making Meowscarada smile. Meowscarada then feels that something is missing from her outfit with the others thinking the same thing. A couple seconds later another one of Ash's Pokeball's wriggle as Tinkaton appears Ash speaks.
"Tinkaton?" Ash says as he along with the others see Tinkaton look at Meowscarada's outfit and thinks. Once she's done thinking she walks over to a hat selection and finds a purple magician's hat. Tinkaton walks over to Meowscarada and gives her the hat to try on. Once Meowscarada puts on the hat she looks at herself in the mirror and gets a smile on her face as the hat was the missing piece for the outfit Ash then speaks.
"Now that I think about it a magician's outfit isn't complete without the hat. Good job Tinkaton." Ash says with Pikachu, Raichu, Ninetales, Bayleef, and Sneasel saying the same thing, making Tinkaton smile. Meowscarada tells Tinkaton along with the others thank you making the 5-mons smile as Ash looks at Meowscarada and speaks.
"Okay Meowscarada now that you've found your outfit I'm confident that you'll make it pass the first round." Ash says with Meowscarada nodding. 30 minutes later we see Ash along with Misty, Marina along with many other trainers behind a curtain as outside we see a big stage along with a big audience (Brock is sitting somewhere). Everyone then hears a voice.
"Hello everyone!" The voice says as everyone sees a woman appear and begins to speak.
"My name's Amy and I'm the host for this year's Beauty Pageant." Amy says with the audience nodding as Amy continues to speak.
"As you all know we'll see many different trainers along with their Pokémon appear on the runway showing off their beauty and when the judges decide who the top 4 trainers are those trainers will battle it out in a series of single battles to decide who's the most beautiful Pokémon." Amy says with the audience nodding as she continues to speak.
"Now then I think it's time for me to announce the judges for this year's pageant." Amy says as she announces 4 people by the names of Duke, Shay, Declan, and Atlanta. The crowd lets out a loud cheer as the 4 judges' wave at them Brock speaks.
"Wow they must be pretty popular." Brock says to himself as the person sitting next to Brock tells him that all 4 judges are very popular with the teen nodding. Back on stage with Amy she begins to speak.
"Now with that out of the way let's begin. First up is Zane with his Ninetales!" Amy says as everyone sees a teenage boy and his Kantonian Ninetales (wearing a red dress) appear on the stage. The crowd looks at Ninetales and are impressed by its beauty, letting out a loud cheer as Zane along with his Ninetales then walk away as the next contestant comes out. We now head back behind the curtain and see Ash along with Misty, they continue to watch as Misty speaks.
"All of the Pokémon so far look very beautiful." Misty says as Ash speaks.
"True, but I know that my Meowscarada looks the best." Ash says with Meowscarada nodding as Misty speaks.
"Okay we'll see how she does against my Milotic." Misty responds making Ash smile as they hear a voice.
"Seems like you two are excited." The voice says making the two trainers look as they see Marina and next to her is a Feraligatr. Ash then speaks.
"Yeah, I'm confident in Meowscarada." Ash responds with Marina nodding as Misty looks at Marina's Feraligatr and speaks.
"Are you using your Feraligatr?" Misty asks as Marina speaks.
"No, I wanted to at first but another one of my Pokémon wanted to take part in the pageant instead." Marina says with Ash and Misty nodding as they then hear a voice.
"Up next is contestant Marina!" Amy says as we come back over to the group Marina speaks.
"Looks like it's my turn wish me luck." Marina says with Ash and Misty nodding as Marina returns Feraligatr back to its Pokeball and begins walking out of the curtain. Once Marina appears, Amy speaks.
"Here's contestant Marina what Pokémon will she bring out?" Amy says as Marina pulls out a Pokeball and speaks.
"Okay Lopunny it's showtime!" Marina says as she throws the ball high in the air and sends out the mon. When the mon appears, it does a few twirls up in the air then lands safely on the ground. When the mon appears, it's wearing a bright red dress and is a bipedal bunny. The mon does a pose causing the crowd to let out a loud cheer as Amy speaks.
"Marina's Pokémon is a Lopunny!" Amy says as over with Ash and Misty, Misty speaks.
"So, that's the Pokémon she's using." Misty says as Ash pulls out his Pokedex to scan Lopunny.
"Lopunny the Rabbit Pokémon and a Normal Type. Lopunny's an extremely cautious Pokémon that cloaks its body with its fluffy ear fur when it senses danger. This Pokémon kicks as though it were a master of karate, driving back its opponents with ease." The Pokedex says as on the stage Lopunny does a few graceful kicks as Misty speaks.
"Wow it's beautiful." Misty says with Ash agreeing with her as Ash's Meowscarada looks at Lopunny and is impressed by its beauty as well. Back on the stage we see Marina along with Lopunny walk on the runway and when they make it at the end Lopunny blows out a kiss towards the audience making them all (including Brock) let out a cheer as Lopunny along with Marina begin walking back Amy speaks.
"Let's all give a big round of applause to Marina and Lopunny!" Amy says with the crowd nodding as they begin to cheer/clap for them. A few seconds later we see Marina along with Lopunny make it back through the curtain as she lets out a relief sigh then hears a voice.
"Marina!" The voice says causing Marina along with her Lopunny to look as they see Ash along with Pikachu, Meowscarada, Misty and Togetic running towards them. When they get close enough Misty speaks.
"You along with Lopunny looked great out there." Misty says making Marina smile as she speaks.
"Thank you I was nervous, but I think it went well." Marina says with her Lopunny getting a proud smile on its face as it looks at Ash's Meowscarada. Meowscarada looks at Lopunny and smiles saying hello as Lopunny continues to look at her and turns her head away making the others confused as Marina speaks.
"Sorry about that whenever my Lopunny sees a worthy rival she usually turns her head away from them." Marina says with the group nodding as they then hear a voice.
"Now will contestant Misty please come to the stage!" Amy says as Misty speaks.
"Okay looks like it's my turn." Misty says with the group nodding as they tell her good luck. When Misty walks through the curtain she sees the big audience and gets a little intimidated. Misty manages to recompose herself as she pulls out a Pokeball and speaks.
"Okay Milotic come out!" Misty says as she throws the ball high out in the air sending out her Milotic. Once Milotic appears she safely lands on the stage. Milotic's wearing a bright beautiful blue dress and is also wearing a blue beret. Everyone looks at Milotic as the crowd is at first left speechless then let out a loud cheer as Amy speaks.
"Contestant Misty has brought out a beautiful Milotic!" Amy says as the crowd looks at Misty and Milotic as they begin to walk down the runway. Over to Ash and Marina, Marina speaks.
"Wow Misty's Milotic's so pretty!" Marina says with Ash nodding. Back over to Misty and Milotic they make it to the end of the runway then walk back behind the curtain. When they're back, Ash along with Marina tell them that they did great as Amy speaks.
"Now will Ash please appear!" Amy says as Ash looks at Meowscarada and speaks.
"Okay Meowscarada it's our turn." Ash says with Meowscarada nodding as Ash then feels his Pokeball's wriggle as Raichu, Ninetales, Tinkaton, Bayleef and Sneasel appear. Ash looks at them and speaks.
"Do you want to cheer on Meowscarada?" Ash asks with the 5-mons nodding making Ash along with Meowscarada smile as Ash then returns Meowscarada back to her Pokeball and Pikachu jumps off Ash's shoulder landing next to the other Pokémon. Misty along with Marina tell Ash good luck with the boy nodding as he walks through the curtain. When he does, Ash sees just how big the audience is and feels a little intimidated too but quickly recovers as Amy speaks.
"What Pokémon will Ash bring out?" Amy says as Ash pulls out his Pokeball and speaks.
"Okay, Meowscarada I choose you!" Ash says as he throws the ball high into the air and sends out his Meowscarada. Once Meowscarada appears she does a few twirls then lands on the stage and does a pose. When Meowscarada does that everyone looks at her magician outfit/hat and are in awe of her. The crowd lets out a loud cheer as Amy speaks.
"Ash's Pokémon is a Meowscarada who's wearing a magician's outfit!" Amy says as on the runway Meowscarada's walking forward and when she makes it to the end, she does a wink causing the crowd to cheer even louder. Behind the curtain we see Misty along with her Togetic, Milotic, Ash's Pikachu, Raichu, Ninetales, Tinkaton, Bayleef and Sneasel cheering. Marina's impressed while her Lopunny looks at Ash's Meowscarada. Back on the runway Meowscarada has made it back to Ash as the two of them look at the crowd and do a bow before leaving which causes the crowd to cheer again as Amy speaks.
"What a good showing let's all give another round of applause!" Amy says with the crowd nodding as they begin to clap. We now go back over to Ash and Meowscarada who've made it back behind the curtain as Ash looks at Meowscarada and speaks.
"Good job Meowscarada I think that went well." Ash says with Meowscarada nodding as they then see the others running over to them. When they get close enough, they all tell Meowscarada that she looked great out there making the grass cat happy. Marina's Lopunny walks over to Meowscarada and when it gets close enough it looks at Meowscarada and speaks.
"Lop" The mon says telling Meowscarada not bad as it then begins to walk away Marina speaks.
"Seems like my Lopunny has really taken an interest in your Meowscarada Ash." Marina says with Ash nodding. 30 minutes later the rest of the trainers had their turns, and the runway show is now over. We see all of the trainers along with the Pokémon they used standing next to them as Amy begins to speak.
"It's now time to announce who the top 4 trainers are!" Amy says as she hands the mic over to Duke who speaks.
"After much discussion we've come to the conclusion of who the top 4 trainers are and here's the first one." Duke says as he begins to read the name.
"The first trainer will be contestant Zane and his Kantonian Ninetales." Duke says making Zane along with his Ninetales happy as the crowd claps. Duke then hands the mic over to Shay who begins to speak.
"The second trainer will be contestant Misty and her Milotic." Shay says making Misty along with her Milotic happy as she hugs the mon and speaks.
"We made it Milotic!" Misty says with the mon smiling as the crowd claps for them. Shay then hands the mic over to Declan as he speaks.
"The third trainer will be contestant Marina and her Lopunny." Declan says making Marina happy as she looks at Lopunny and speaks.
"We did it Lopunny!" Marina says as Lopunny has a proud look on its face with the crowd clapping for them as we cut over to Brock as he speaks.
"There's one more spot left." Brock says as over with Ash and Meowscarada we see them having nervous looks on their faces hoping that they'll make it. We come over to the judge's table and see Declan hand the mic over to Atlanta as she begins to speak.
"And now it's time to reveal the 4th trainer." Atlanta says as Amy speaks.
"Here it is everyone the moment of truth who is the 4th trainer?" Amy says as everyone looks at Atlanta waiting for her to speak, making the crowd along with the other trainers wait in anticipation. As everyone continues to look at the woman she then begins to speak.
"The fourth trainer is…" Atlanta says and takes a pause and speaks.
"Contestant…" Atlanta and takes another pause making everyone wait in anticipation again as she then closes her eyes. Then once the room becomes silent Atlanta opens her eyes and speaks.
"The fourth trainer is contestant Ash and his Meowscarada!" Atlanta says causing the crowd along with Misty, Brock, Marina, their Pokémon along with Ash's Pikachu, Raichu, Ninetales, Tinkaton, Bayleef, and Sneasel to cheer. Over with Ash and Meowscarada they let out a relief sigh as Ash looks at Meowscarada and speaks.
"Looks like we made it." Ash says with Meowscarada nodding as Atlanta hands the mic back to Amy who begins to speak.
"And with that we now have our top 4 trainers!" Amy says as the crowd begins clapping for them, making the 4 trainers and their Pokémon smile as Amy speaks.
"It's now time for the battle round and the matches will be decided at random. Everyone please look at the screen." Amy says as suddenly a big TV screen appears that has the names of Ash, Misty, Marina and Zane on it. Amy then speaks.
"Once I press this button the names on the screen will randomize and match up the trainers for their battles." Amy says as she presses the button causing the names on the screen to begin to randomly move around the screen. The names continue to do that until a few seconds later they stop showcasing who's battling who as Amy speaks.
"Okay first up will be the battle between Marina and Zane then after that one will be Ash vs Misty!" Amy says making the crowd excited as over with Ash and Misty they have surprised looks on their faces as Ash speaks.
"I wasn't expecting us to battle each other in the first round." Ash says as Misty speaks.
"Me neither." Misty says as the two trainers look at each other Misty speaks.
"Well Ash now that we're going to go up against each other don't hold anything back." Misty says with her Milotic agreeing as Ash smiles and speaks.
"You don't need to worry about that Misty." Ash replies with Meowscarada agreeing with him making Misty and Milotic smile as Amy speaks.
"Now that the matches are decided we'll now take a 15-minute break for the trainers to prepare themselves for their battles. Also let's all give a big round of applause to the other trainers who participated." Amy says with the crowd nodding as they clap for the other trainers while the top 4 trainers walk away to prepare themselves for their battles. Once the 15-minute break is over we see Marina along with Zane on the stage and have taken their battle positions. Off to the side we see Ash and Misty looking forward. We now head over to Brock who's in the crowd with Ash's Pikachu, Raichu, Ninetales, Tinkaton, Bayleef, Sneasel and Misty's Togetic with him. Back on the stage Amy begins to speak.
"Okay everyone it's time for the battle round. Before we begin allow me to explain the rules." Amy says as she continues to speak.
"For the battle round, it won't just be your standard 1v1 single battle but a Contest Battle that shows the Beauty of your Pokémon. On the screen you can see the trainers' profile pictures and under them is a bar containing points that will gradually go down whenever their Pokémon gets hit or their opponent uses a move that makes their Pokémon look more beautiful. Between the bars is a 5-minute timer where if it reaches zero before the battle's over then the winner will be decided on whoever has more points than the other." Amy says with everyone nodding as over with Brock he speaks.
"So, the battles are going by contest rules this might be difficult for Ash and Misty as they've never taken part in a Contest Battle before." Brock says with the mons nodding. Over with Ash and Misty they heard what the rules are as Ash speaks.
"So, we can't just outright defeat our opponent, but we also need to use moves that shows the beauty of our Pokémon and the way to win is by either waiting until the timer runs out with having more points or knocking out your opponent. Wow this is going to be difficult." Ash says as Misty speaks.
"It's a good thing that we're not battling first because now we'll get to see how it works by watching Marina's battle." Misty says with Ash nodding as a couple seconds later their Pokeball's wriggle as Meowscarada and Milotic appear surprising the trainers as Ash speaks.
"You guys want to watch the match too?" Ash asks with the two-mons nodding as they along with Ash and Misty look back on the battlefield. On the battlefield we see Marina and Zane still looking at each other as Amy speaks.
"This is a 1v1 single battle the winner is decided by either knocking out your opponent's Pokémon, emptying out your opponent's points before the timer reaches zero, or if the timer reaches zero and neither Pokémon have fainted then the winner will be decided by who has more points overall. Do both trainers understand?" Amy asks with Marina and Zane nodding as Amy speaks.
"Okay then will both trainers please send out your Pokémon." Amy says as Marina and Zane pull out their Pokeball's and speak.
"Let's do this Lopunny!" "Ninetales Go!" Both trainers say as they throw their Pokeball's forward and send out the mons. When the two mons appear, they look at each other and have serious looks on their faces as Amy speaks.
"Now that both trainers have sent out their Pokémon let the battle begin!" Amy says as Zane speaks.
"I usually have ladies go before me but I'm going to take the initiative. Ninetales use Sunny Day then Flamethrower!" Zane calls. Ninetales nods as it roars summoning the harsh sun that makes Ninetales glow causing some of Marina's points to go down. Ninetales then heats up its mouth and shoots out a large stream of fire from its mouth Amy speaks.
"Zane's Ninetales has launched a big Flamethrower how will Marina counter?!" Amy says as over with Marina neither she nor Lopunny are worried as Marina speaks.
"Jump in the air to dodge!" Marina calls with Lopunny nodding as it quickly jumps in the air avoiding the Flamethrower. When Lopunny does that the points in Zane's bar decrease slightly as Zane speaks.
"Ninetales now that Lopunny's in the air use Psyshock!" Zane calls. Ninetales's eyes glow as it creates multiple psychic orbs that surround Lopunny and have them go to hit it as Marina speaks.
"Lopunny get rid of them with Brutal Swing then use Charge Beam!" Marina calls. Up in the air Lopunny's ears become covered in dark energy as it spins easily destroying the psychic orbs which causes more of Zane's points to decrease. A few seconds later Lopunny stops spinning then points both of its hands forward and fires out a large electric beam that heads for Ninetales as Zane speaks.
"Ninetales counter with Flamethrower!" Zane calls. Ninetales heats up its mouth and roars firing out a big stream of fire that collides with the electric beam and easily destroys it causing some of Marina's points to decrease as Amy speaks.
"Ninetales's Flamethrower has easily destroyed the Charge Beam and it's now on its way for Lopunny!" Amy says as over with Marina she isn't worried as she speaks.
"Lopunny head for the Flamethrower and use Protect!" Marina calls. Lopunny nods as it falls forward and begins heading for the stream of fire. Lopunny points its hands forward, summons a protective barrier and collides with the Flamethrower. Lopunny begins to easily go through the stream of fire with the barrier protecting it as Amy speaks.
"Marina's Lopunny has not only protected itself from the Flamethrower, but the barrier is allowing Lopunny to easily bypass the flames!" Amy says with the crowd nodding as Zane's points go down more Marina speaks.
"Okay Lopunny when you get close use High Jump Kick!" Marina calls with Lopunny nodding as when it's getting closer to Ninetales its right leg glows red getting ready to kick the fire fox as Zane speaks.
"Ninetales quick stop using Flamethrower and back away!" Zane calls with Ninetales nodding as it immediately stops using Flamethrower and jumps back before Lopunny can hit it. Just when Lopunny's about to hit the stage with its leg Marina speaks.
"Lopunny land, use Quick Attack and hit Ninetales with High Jump Kick!" Marina calls. Over with Lopunny the mon manages to safely land on the ground then shoots forward heading for Ninetales. Lopunny covers its right leg in red fighting energy and knees Ninetales's left side hard making the mon groan in pain as it's sent sliding a few feet away. Amy then speaks.
"Oh! What a devastating blow by Lopunny!" Amy says as over with Zane he looks at his Ninetales and speaks.
"Ninetales are you okay?!" Zane asks with the mon nodding as it then begins to groan in pain. Zane notices this and begins to think.
"Looks like that High Jump Kick did more damage than I thought." Zane says to himself as he then looks back up the screen, sees that his points have gone down more and sees that there's now 3 minutes left. Zane begins to think.
"I know that High Jump Kick is a strong move, but I didn't expect it to do so much damage to Ninetales." Zane says to himself as he then looks up, sees that the Sunny Day is still active and begins to think.
"The Sunny Day isn't going to last for long I don't need Ninetales to knock out Lopunny but to have her land a powerful attack on it that'll reduce their points to where it's close to empty then have Ninetales dodge their attacks until time runs out." Zane says to himself as he looks at Ninetales and speaks.
"Ninetales use Fire Spin!" Zane calls. Ninetales roars and shoots out a spinning fire from its mouth that heads for Lopunny as Marina speaks.
"Lopunny use Protect!" "Ninetales have the fire circle around Lopunny!" Both trainers' call. When Lopunny summons a protective barrier, the fire goes around Lopunny and begins circling around the mon surprising Marina and Lopunny. The Fire Spin continues to do that until it turns into a big fire tornado that has Lopunny inside. Inside the Fire Spin Lopunny's taking damage from the attack and is groaning in pain. Marina's points slightly decrease as Marina speaks.
"Lopunny jump out of there!" Marina calls with Lopunny nodding as it jumps high in the air. As Lopunny's about to exit, the Fire Spin Ninetales suddenly appears in front of the mon surprising it along with Marina as Zane speaks.
"I knew you'd do that. Ninetales use Overheat!" Zane calls with Ninetales nodding as it heats up its body and opens its mouth. Over with Brock he speaks.
"I get it so by having the Fire Spin go around Lopunny it would have Marina call for Lopunny to try jumping out of the Fire Spin and when it did Zane would have Ninetales appear, and use Overheat on Lopunny to decrease more of Marina's points." Brock says as back on the battlefield Ninetales has finished charging the move as Zane speaks.
"Okay Ninetales fire the attack!" Zane calls as when Ninetales is about to fire the move Marina smiles and speaks.
"Lopunny use Agility to dodge!" Marina calls surprising Zane as when Ninetales fires the Overheat Lopunny speeds up and disappears easily dodging the attack. The Overheat collides with the Fire Spin creating a big explosion. Then when the explosion goes away everyone sees Ninetales land safely back on the battlefield panting heavily while the Sunny Day disappears. As Ninetales continues to pant Lopunny appears in front of the mon surprising it as Zane speaks.
"Ninetales quick use Flamethrower!" "Lopunny dodge then use High Jump Kick!" Both trainers' call. When Ninetales fires the move Lopunny quickly moves to the right easily evading the attack. Lopunny's left leg then glows in red fighting energy and uppercuts Ninetales causing more damage and lowering Zane's points more as Zane speaks.
"Ninetales grab Lopunny with your tails!" "Dodge Lopunny!" Both trainers' call. Ninetales shoots all nine of its tails forward going to grab Lopunny. Lopunny isn't worried as it begins to gracefully dodge the tails causing more of Zane's points to go down. This makes Zane, along with Ninetales, frustrated as Zane speaks.
"Ninetales use Overheat!" "Lopunny use Brutal Swing to blow it away!" Both trainers' call. Ninetales roars and fires out a big wave of heat from its mouth that goes to hit Lopunny, but the bunny quickly covers its ears in dark energy and spins easily diverting the heat. Then a few seconds later the Overheat fully disappears surprising everyone as in the audience Brock speaks.
"She knew that after Ninetales used Overheat before it won't be as powerful allowing for Lopunny to easily get rid of it with Brutal Swing and causing Lopunny to look better." Brock says as back on the stage Lopunny stops spinning as the embers from the Overheat float around her then disappear, making the bunny look more pretty. This causes more of Zane's points to go down as Marina speaks.
"Okay Lopunny it's time to end this! Use Close Combat!" Marina calls with Lopunny nodding as it goes to punch Ninetales Zane speaks.
"Ninetales dodge!" Zane calls but was too late as Lopunny begins punching Ninetales repeatedly with each punch doing more damage than the last. Lopunny continues to punch Ninetales as it punches the mon one more time making Ninetales groan in pain Marina speaks.
"Now Lopunny use Water Pulse!" Marina calls surprising Zane as Lopunny creates a ball of water from its right hand and throws it at Ninetales, hitting the mon in the face and sending it sliding back a few feet away. Zane looks at Ninetales and speaks.
"Ninetales are you okay?!" Zane asks with the mon nodding, making Zane smile as he speaks.
"Okay Ninetales use!" Before Zane can finish everyone hears a loud buzzer sound as Amy speaks.
"The timer has finally reached zero let's see who won!" Amy says as everyone looks at the screen and see that Marina has more points compared to Zane. Amy then speaks.
"Seeing as contestant Marina has more points, she along with Lopunny are the winners!" Amy says causing the crowd to let out a big cheer as Marina looks at Lopunny and speaks.
"Yay! Great job Lopunny!" Marina says happily as Lopunny smiles. Over with Ash, Misty, Meowscarada, and Milotic they're impressed by how Marina won as Misty speaks.
"Instead of trying to knock her opponent out she made sure to have Lopunny dodge Ninetales's attacks then counter making sure that Zane's points were lower than hers." Misty says as Ash speaks.
"They're going to be difficult to beat." Ash says with Misty and the two-mons agreeing with him. After that Marina along with Zane shake each other's hands and walk away from the battlefield as Ash and Misty take their positions. Amy explains the rules to Ash and Misty with both trainers nodding as Amy speaks.
"Okay will both trainers please send out your Pokémon!" Amy says as Ash and Misty speak.
"Meowscarada, I Choose You!" "Go! Milotic!" The two trainers say with the two-mons nodding as they immediately jump on the battlefield and look at each other while getting into battle stances. Amy then speaks.
"Now that both trainers have sent out their Pokémon let the battle begin!" Amy says as the 5-minute timer begins to count down Ash speaks.
"Let's go Meowscarada! Use Leaf Storm!" Ash calls. Meowscarada lets out a roar and fires out a big storm of leaves that head for Milotic as Misty speaks.
"Milotic minimize the damage with Light Screen then use Scald!" Misty calls. Milotic nods as she quickly summons up a big light barrier that the leaves go through and hit Milotic causing some damage to the mon. Milotic then fires out a stream of hot water from her mouth that heads for Meowscarada as Ash speaks.
"Meowscarada jump in the air to dodge and use Seed Bomb!" Ash calls. Meowscarada quickly jumps in the air dodging Milotic's attack then creates a grassy seed from her right hand and throws it forward. The seed heads for Milotic as Misty speaks.
"Milotic knock it away with your tail!" Misty calls. Milotic nods as she easily knocks the seed away with her tail and when she does that Meowscarada appears in front of her. Ash then speaks.
"Meowscarada now that your close use Leaf Storm!" Ash calls. "Milotic use Ice Beam!" Misty calls surprising Ash as before Meowscarada uses Leaf Storm Milotic quickly fires out an icy beam from her mouth that connects with Meowscarada causing super effective damage and sending her flying as Ash speaks.
"Meowscarada!" Ash calls in worry as Meowscarada lands on her stomach a few feet away. Meowscarada groans in pain but manages to stand back up. Ash then sees that his points have decreased with Misty's being slightly decreased. Misty has a smile on her face as Ash speaks.
"As always Misty, you give us a challenge. But. We're not done Yet!" Ash says with Meowscarada agreeing with him as Misty speaks.
"Okay Ash let's see how you'll handle this. Milotic use Ice Beam!" Misty calls. Milotic roars and fires out an icy beam that heads for Meowscarada as Ash speaks.
"Meowscarada use Night Slash then run forward!" Ash calls. Meowscarada nods as she covers her claws in dark energy and slashes the icy beam easily destroying it causing some of Misty's points to decrease. Meowscarada then begins running forward heading for Milotic as Misty speaks.
"Milotic use Iron Head!" Misty calls. Milotic covers her head in steel energy, shoots forward and goes to hit Meowscarada as Ash speaks.
"Meowscarada jump back!" Ash calls. Meowscarada quickly jumps back, causing Milotic to miss her attack and making more of Misty's points go down. Milotic sees Meowscarada land a few feet away as Misty speaks.
"Use Ice Beam!" Misty calls. Milotic fires out an icy beam that heads for Meowscarada as Ash speaks.
"Use Double Team to dodge then Leaf Storm!" Ash calls. Meowscarada quickly creates multiple clones of herself and dodges the attack making more of Misty's points decrease. Meowscarada along with her clone's roar and send out a big storm of leaves that heads for Milotic. Neither Misty nor Milotic are worried as Misty speaks.
"Milotic blow it away with Blizzard!" Misty calls. "She knows Blizzard?!" Ash says in shock as Milotic roars sending out a big, beautiful Blizzard that easily gets rid of the storm of leaves along with Meowscarada's clones. This also causes more of Ash's points to disappear; the Blizzard goes to hit Meowscarada as Ash speaks.
"Break through with Play Rough!" Ash calls. Meowscarada covers her fists/feet in fairy energy and begins punching/kicking through the Blizzard. Everyone watches Meowscarada valiantly punching/kicking through the move as a few seconds later Meowscarada fully gets rid of it and safely lands back on the ground. Meowscarada pants a little bit while the crowd lets out a cheer, Misty sees that more of her points have decreased and there's only 2 minutes left on the timer. She looks over at Ash and Meowscarada and begins to think.
"We don't have much time I need to decrease Ash's points more." Misty says to herself as she looks over at Milotic and speaks.
"Milotic use Recover!" Misty calls with Milotic nodding as she glows a shiny bright white and heals the damage that she's received so far. Seeing just how beautiful the Recover move was, Ash's points decrease a little bit as Ash looks at Misty and speaks.
"Nice idea Misty but two can play at that game! Meowscarada use Energy Ball then Seed Bomb!" Ash calls. Meowscarada fires out a green ball of energy from her mouth that heads for Milotic. Meowscarada then creates a grassy seed from her right hand and throws it forward as it enters the Energy Ball causing it to move faster as Amy speaks.
"Contestant Ash's Meowscarada has combined the Energy Ball and Seed Bomb making them go faster!" Amy says causing the crowd along with the judges to be impressed as Misty's points decrease more. Misty notices this and calls for a command.
"Milotic use Ice Beam!" Misty calls with Milotic nodding as she quickly fires out an icy beam from her mouth that connects with the combined Energy Ball and Seed Bomb creating an explosion. When that happens, Ash smiles and speaks.
"Okay Meowscarada use Flower Trick!" Ash says with Meowscarada nodding as suddenly a spotlight appears above her head causing everyone to look at her as she walks a couple steps forward then lets out a roar as a bouquet of flowers appear from the sky and heads for Milotic as Misty speaks.
"Dodge Milotic!" Misty calls with Milotic nodding as she easily evades the attack Ash speaks.
"Meowscarada do another Flower Trick!" Ash calls surprising Misty as Meowscarada summons another bouquet of flowers from the sky that hit Milotic hard on the head creating an explosion as Misty speaks.
"Milotic!" Misty calls in worry as out of the explosion appears Milotic who's groaning in pain but can still battle as her Light Screen disappears. Meowscarada then suddenly appears in front of Milotic and has a smile on her face as Ash speaks.
"Now Meowscarada use Leaf Storm!" Ash calls. Before Misty can call for a command Meowscarada lets out a roar and summons a big storm of leaves that connect with Milotic causing super effective damage to her as she cries out in pain Amy speaks.
"Ash's Meowscarada has landed a strong Leaf Storm on Misty's Milotic now that's got to hurt!" Amy says as Misty's points decrease more Misty speaks.
"Milotic now that Meowscarada's close use Blizzard!" Misty calls. Milotic nods as she manages to fight through the storm of leaves and roars summoning a large Blizzard as Ash speaks.
"Meowscarada block and use Flower Trick!" Ash calls. Meowscarada quickly brings up her arms and begins to block the Blizzard. As Meowscarada's blocking she's groaning in pain as the Blizzard is doing some damage to her. Meowscarada lets out a roar as she summons a big bouquet of flowers from the sky that hit Milotic hard on the head creating an explosion. Out of the explosion appears Meowscarada and Milotic who've slided a few feet away from each other. The two mons look at each other and are panting a little bit but can still continue as Ash and Misty speak.
"Meowscarada use Leaf Storm!" "Milotic use Blizzard!" Both trainers' call. The two-mons roar and are about to use their moves until they all hear a buzzing sound causing them to stop as Amy speaks.
"The timer has reached zero! Let's all look at the screen to see who won!" Amy says as everyone looks at the screen and see that both Ash and Misty's points are close to being empty. As they continue to look they see that Misty's points are still lower than Ash's overall as Amy speaks.
"The winner for this battle goes to Ash and Meowscarada!" Amy says causing the crowd to let out a cheer as Ash speaks.
"We did it!" "Scarda!" Ash along with Meowscarada let out a cheer as over with Brock he speaks.
"Even though Misty and Milotic lost they did their best." Brock says with the mons nodding. Over with Misty and Milotic, Milotic's sad that she lost as Misty walks over to the mon and speaks.
"It's okay Milotic you did great." Misty says with Milotic nodding as they then walk over to Ash and Meowscarada. When they reach them, Misty looks at Ash and speaks.
"Well Ash looks like you beat us." Misty says with Ash nodding as he speaks.
"Yeah, but I do wish that there wasn't a 5-minute timer as I wanted to keep going." Ash says with Misty nodding as she speaks.
"I feel the same but those are the rules and good luck in your battle against Marina we're going to be rooting for you two." Misty says with Milotic nodding making Ash along with Meowscarada smile as they then look over at Marina who has an excited look on her face. 10 minutes later Ash along with Marina have healed up Meowscarada and Lopunny for the final match. We see both trainers on the stage having taken their battle positions and are looking at each other. In the audience we see that Misty along with her Milotic have joined Brock and the others as Brock speaks.
"The battle's going to start soon." Brock says as Misty speaks.
"Yeah, and I just know that Ash and Meowscarada are going to win." Misty says with her Milotic and Togetic, Ash's Pikachu, Raichu, Ninetales, Tinkaton, Bayleef, and Sneasel nodding. Back on the battlefield Amy has explained the rules to both trainers and told everyone that this is the final battle to decide who the most beautiful Pokémon is. Once Ash along with Marina understand the rules Amy speaks.
"Okay both trainers please send out your Pokémon!" Amy says with Ash and Marina nodding as they each pull out a Pokeball and speak.
"Meowscarada, I Choose You!" "Let's do this Lopunny!" Both trainers say as they throw the balls forward and send the mons out. When the two mons appear, they look at each other and immediately get into battle stances. Back in the audience Misty speaks.
"They both have serious looks on their faces." Misty says as Brock speaks.
"This is the final match, and they want to give it everything they have." Brock says with Misty nodding. Back on the battlefield the two trainers along with the two mons look at each other waiting for the battle to start as Amy speaks.
"Now that both trainers have sent out their Pokémon let the battle begin!" Amy says as Ash speaks.
"Meowscarada use Flower Trick!" Ash calls. Meowscarada roars and instantly summons a bouquet of flowers from the sky that heads for Lopunny as Marina speaks.
"Lopunny dodge then kick the bouquet of flowers forward with High Jump Kick!" Marina calls. Lopunny nods as it looks up and sees the bouquet of flowers heading for it. Just when the move is about to hit Lopunny the bunny quickly jumps back at last second, covers its left leg in red fighting energy and kicks the bouquet of flowers sending them forward as Amy speaks.
"Contestant Marina's Lopunny is using Meowscarada's attack against them!" Amy says as Ash's points begin to decrease slightly. Ash isn't worried as he calls for a command.
"Meowscarada intercept it with Seed Bomb!" Ash calls. Meowscarada nods as she quickly creates a grassy seed from her right hand and throws it forward causing it to connect with Flower Trick as they explode. Out of the explosion appears Lopunny who's now in front of Meowscarada and has its right leg ready as Marina speaks.
"Use High Jump Kick!" "Meowscarada dodge with Double Team!" Both trainers' call. Lopunny covers its right leg in red fighting energy and goes to kick Meowscarada. Meowscarada quickly creates multiple clones of herself and dodges Lopunny's attack. This causes Lopunny to stumble a little bit, but it manages to catch itself. Lopunny then looks around and sees that it's surrounded by Meowscarada along with her clones as Marina speaks.
"Lopunny spin around using Charge Beam and increase your speed with Agility!" Marina calls. Lopunny nods as it points its hands forward and fires out an electric beam that easily destroys one of Meowscarada's clones. Lopunny then begins to spin and increases its speed with Agility making it go faster. The Charge Beam has now destroyed all of Meowscarada's clones and is about to hit the real one as Ash speaks.
"Meowscarada jump in the air and use Seed Bomb!" Ash calls. Just when the Charge Beam is about to hit Meowscarada the grass cat quickly jumps in the air and narrowly avoids the move causing some of Marina's points to decrease. Meowscarada then creates a grassy seed from her right hand and throws it at the still spinning Lopunny as Marina speaks.
"Lopunny stop spinning and jump in the air!" Marina calls. Lopunny stops spinning as it sees the Seed Bomb coming and quickly jumps in the air, avoiding the attack as it hits the battlefield and explodes. Lopunny's now heading for Meowscarada as Ash speaks.
"Meowscarada use Leaf Storm!" Ash calls. Meowscarada lets out a roar and fires out a big storm of leaves that heads for Lopunny as Marina speaks.
"Lopunny use Bounce!" Marina calls surprising Ash as over with Lopunny it sees the storm of leaves coming, glows in blue flying energy, speeds up and easily goes through the storm of leaves. A couple seconds later Lopunny hits Meowscarada causing super effective damage to her and has its left leg ready as Marina speaks.
"Now use High Jump Kick!" "Meowscarada block then use Flower Trick!" Both trainers' call. Lopunny covers its left leg in red fighting energy and goes to kick Meowscarada. Meowscarada manages to successfully block the attack with her right arm as the force of the move sends her flying towards the battlefield. As Meowscarada's flying back she lets out a roar summoning a bouquet of flowers above Lopunny as it hits the mon on the head creating an explosion. Meowscarada then safely lands back on the ground then looks up and sees Lopunny appear out of the smoke and is falling back towards the battlefield as Marina speaks.
"Land Lopunny!" Marina calls. Lopunny opens its eyes as it manages to readjust itself and lands safely back on the ground. Lopunny then looks at Meowscarada with Meowscarada looking at it as Amy speaks.
"The battle has been intense so far with neither side giving in!" Amy says with the crowd cheering. Back on the battlefield Ash looks at the screen, seeing that there's currently 3 minutes left, and that Marina still has more points than him. Ash begins to think.
"Her Lopunny is fast and is great at evading how can I have Meowscarada land a big hit on it?" Ash says to himself as he thinks for a few seconds, gets an idea and speaks.
"That's it." Ash says to himself as he looks at Meowscarada and speaks.
"Meowscarada I just thought of something!" Ash says with Meowscarada nodding as Marina speaks.
"Whatever plan you thought of Ash we won't let you use it! Lopunny use Charge Beam!" Marina calls. Lopunny nods as it puts its hands together and fires out an electric beam that heads for Meowscarada as Ash speaks.
"Meowscarada dodge with Double Team then use Flower Trick and summon multiple bouquets of flowers!" Ash calls with Meowscarada nodding as when the Charge Beam is about to hit her Meowscarada quickly creates multiple clones of herself and dodges Lopunny's attack causing some of Marina's points to go down. Meowscarada along with her clones let out a roar as they all summon multiple bouquets of flowers from the sky that head for Lopunny as Marina speaks.
"Dodge Lopunny!" Marina calls with Lopunny nodding as it begins to easily evade the bouquets causing them to land on the ground and explode as in the audience Misty speaks.
"Wait wouldn't doing this cause more of Ash's points to decrease? Because Lopunny's going to easily dodge them." Misty says as Brock speaks.
"Knowing Ash, I'm sure he has a plan." Brock says with Misty nodding as they continue to watch the battle and see that Ash's points have decreased more. Back on the battlefield Lopunny dodges the final bouquet as the move lands on the ground creating an explosion. The entire battlefield is now covered in smoke as inside it Marina's Lopunny begins to cough as Marina speaks.
"Lopunny quick use Bounce to get out of the smoke!" Marina calls with Lopunny nodding as it glows in blue flying energy and jumps high into the air getting out of the smoke. When it does Ash smiles and speaks.
"Now Meowscarada use Seed Bomb!" Ash calls. Suddenly a grassy seed appears from out of the smoke and hits Lopunny creating an explosion. Out of the explosion appears Lopunny who's fallen back into the cloud of smoke and just when it's about to hit the ground Ash speaks.
"Meowscarada use Hone Claws then Play Rough!" Ash calls. Inside the smoke we see Meowscarada running towards Lopunny while increasing her physical attack along with her accuracy. Meowscarada covers her fists in fairy energy and when she reaches Lopunny she begins punching the mon repeatedly making Lopunny cry out in pain. Meowscarada then punches Lopunny one more time which knocks the bunny out of the smoke and sending it flying. Lopunny lands on its back a few feet away and is groaning in pain as Marina speaks.
"Lopunny are you okay?!" Marina asks with the bunny nodding as it stands back up and when it fully stands up the smoke clears revealing Meowscarada. Over with Brock he begins to think.
"I see so by covering the battlefield with smoke Ash knew Marina would have Lopunny jump in the air with Bounce allowing for Meowscarada to hit Lopunny with Seed Bomb. Then when Lopunny fell back into the smoke Ash had Meowscarada run towards Lopunny increase her attack power with Hone Claws then used Play Rough to cause more damage to Lopunny." Brock says with Misty nodding as she along with the others let out a cheer. Back on the battlefield Marina looks at the screen seeing that more of her points have decreased then looks over at Ash and speaks.
"Wow Ash I've to say I wasn't expecting you to use a plan like that." Marina says with Ash nodding as he speaks.
"Thanks, seeing as Lopunny's great at dodging attacks I figured it would be best to cloud Lopunny's vision then land powerful attacks like Seed Bomb and Play Rough on it to cause damage." Ash says with Marina nodding as she then looks at the screen again, seeing that both her and Ash currently have the same amount of points and that there's one minute left on the timer. Marina then speaks.
"Looks like we don't have a lot of time left Ash so me and Lopunny are going to end this." Marina says with Lopunny agreeing with her as Ash speaks.
"Sorry Marina but the ones winning this battle is going to be me and Meowscarada." Ash states with Meowscarada agreeing with him and making Marina along with Lopunny smile. Marina's smile doesn't last for long as she gets a serious look on her face and speaks.
"Lopunny use Bounce!" Marina calls with Lopunny nodding as it glows a bright blue and shoots forward as Ash speaks.
"Meowscarada counter with Night Slash!" Ash calls. Meowscarada covers her right claws in dark energy, shoots forward and collides with Lopunny creating an explosion. Out of the explosion appears the two mons who've slided away from each other as Ash speaks.
"Use Flower Trick!" Ash calls. Meowscarada roars as she summons multiple bouquets of flowers from the sky that head for Lopunny Marina speaks.
"Kick them back with High Jump Kick!" Marina calls with Lopunny nodding as it covers both of its legs in red fighting energy and begins kicking the bouquets of flowers back at Meowscarada. Ash then speaks.
"Use Seed Bomb!" Ash calls. Meowscarada nods as she begins throwing multiple grassy seeds from her hands that connect with the bouquets creating multiple explosions. Marina then speaks.
"Use Brutal Swing!" Marina calls. Lopunny covers its ears in dark energy and spins forward. Lopunny easily blows the smoke away as Ash speaks.
"Use Energy Ball!" Ash calls. Meowscarada quickly fires out a ball of grassy energy from her mouth that heads for Lopunny as Marina speaks.
"Kick it upward!" Marina calls. Lopunny nods as it kicks the move upward with its left leg causing it to hit the ceiling. Ash then speaks.
"Use Night Slash!" Ash calls. Meowscarada instantly appears in front of Lopunny covers her claws in dark energy and slashes at the mon causing more damage to it as Marina speaks.
"Hit it back with Bounce!" Marina calls. Lopunny nods as it glows blue, shoots forward and hits Meowscarada causing more damage to her. There's now 30 seconds left on the timer with the two-mons looking at each other and having their fists ready as their trainers speak.
"Meowscarada use Play Rough!" "Lopunny counter with Close Combat!" Both trainers call with the two-mons roaring as they begin punching each other repeatedly with each punch they land causing more damage than the last. The two mons then punch each other hard in the face one more time and begin to groan in pain. There's now 20 seconds left on the timer as Marina speaks.
"Lopunny use Close Combat again!" Marina calls with Lopunny nodding as when it goes to hit Meowscarada Ash speaks.
"Meowscarada use Leaf Storm!" Ash calls. Meowscarada lets out a roar and summons a big storm of leaves that consumes Lopunny making it spin around as it falls back down on the ground landing on its back a few feet away. Lopunny groans in pain but manages to stand back up and looks over at Meowscarada who's panting heavily as Marina speaks.
"Lopunny It's time to end this! Use High Jump Kick!" Marina calls. Lopunny lets out a mighty "LOP!" as it covers its left leg in red fighting energy and shoots forward going to hit Meowscarada. There's now 10 seconds left on the timer, everyone watches the battle seeing Lopunny getting closer and closer to Meowscarada. Then when Lopunny's about to hit the mon Ash speaks.
"Meowscarada dodge!" Ash calls. Meowscarada nods as she manages to narrowly move to the right and successfully dodges Lopunny's attack. There's now 5 seconds left on the timer with Lopunny getting its right leg ready as Marina speaks.
"LOPUNNY HIT MEOWSCARADA WITH YOUR RIGHT LEG!" Marina calls with Lopunny, beginning to cover its right leg in red fighting energy Ash speaks.
"OH NO YOU DON'T! MEOWSCARADA IT'S TIME FOR YOUR NEW MOVE! USE COPYCAT!" Ash calls surprising Marina as Meowscarada looks at Lopunny and remembers how Lopunny uses the move. Meowscarada quickly covers her left leg in red fighting energy, and with 3 seconds left on the timer she slams her leg hard into Lopunny's stomach. Lopunny coughs in pain as Meowscarada lets out a loud "SCARDA!" and sends Lopunny flying as it crashes in front of Marina creating a dust cloud. Marina gets a worried look on her face and speaks.
"LOPUNNY!" Marina calls in worry as everyone then hears the timer buzz Amy speaks.
"The timer has now reached Zero!" Amy says as she along with everyone then look at the screen and see that Ash along with Marina's points are not only close to being empty but are the same amount. Everyone's surprised as Misty speaks.
"Does this mean that the battle's a tie?" Misty asks as Brock speaks.
"It depends on Lopunny's condition." Brock responds with Misty nodding as they along with everyone else look at the battlefield waiting for the smoke to clear. Over with Ash's Meowscarada she's panting heavily and is also waiting for the smoke to clear as well. A few seconds later the smoke fully clears and reveals Marina's Lopunny. The mon is lying on its back and is completely knocked out surprising Marina as Amy speaks.
"Contestant Marina's Lopunny is unable to battle making contestant Ash along with his Meowscarada the victors!" Amy says making Ash get a big smile on his face as he speaks.
"ALL! RIGHT!" "SCARDA!" Ash along with Meowscarada let out a loud cheer with the crowd cheering as well. Over with Misty, Brock, Togetic, Milotic, Pikachu, Raichu, Ninetales, Tinkaton, Bayleef, and Sneasel they cheer too as Misty speaks.
"They did it!" Misty says happily as Brock speaks.
"It really came down to the wire, but they won." Brock says as he along with Misty and the mons continue to cheer. Back on the stage Ash runs over to Meowscarada and speaks.
"You did it Meowscarada you won!" Ash says happily making Meowscarada smile as they both hug each other. Over with Marina she's surprised that she lost but then smiles as she then helps Lopunny stand up asking the mon if it's okay with the mon saying that it is. The two of them then walk over to Ash and Meowscarada and when they get close enough Marina speaks.
"Wow Ash for someone that's never done a contest battle before you managed to beat us congrats. I also wasn't expecting for your Meowscarada to use Copycat." Marina says with Ash nodding as he speaks.
"Thanks, I just taught Meowscarada Copycat recently because a rival of mine named Cameron. His Lucario had the move, and I felt as though it would be a cool idea to teach it to Meowscarada. Also, Meowscarada and I had a lot of fun battling you two." Ash says with Meowscarada saying the same thing making Marina along with Lopunny smile as Ash and Marina shake hands Amy speaks.
"Okay everyone let's all give a big round of applause to Ash and his Meowscarada!" Amy says with the crowd cheering/clapping for them causing the two of them to wave. 30 minutes later the judges congratulated Ash along with Meowscarada, telling them good job with the two of them saying thank you. Now that Meowscarada's been crowned the most beautiful Pokémon in the town they took Ash along with Meowscarada's picture (Meowscarada wore her magician's outfit) telling them that they'll be in the weekly Pokémon beauty magazine for the whole world to see which made Ash along with Meowscarada smile. When that was done everyone cleared out of the building as the group along with Marina went over to the Pokémon Center to heal their Pokémon. When that was done, we now see the group outside of the center and the sun is currently setting. Marina looks at the group and speaks.
"Well looks like this is where we part ways. It was fun competing with you guys and are you sure that you don't want to take part in any more contest?" Marina asks as Ash speaks.
"While taking part in a Contest Battle was fun my Pokémon and I mainly prefer gym battles and not having to worry about a timer ending the battle." Ash says with Misty saying the same thing with Marina nodding as she speaks.
"Aw and here I thought that I'd have more rivals but oh well. So, you guys are heading for Goldenrod City next?" Marina asks with the group nodding as Ash speaks.
"Yep, because that's where I'm going to get my 3rd gym badge." Ash responds with Marina nodding as she speaks.
"You know I heard from Jimmy a couple days ago saying that the gym there was pretty tough but I'm sure that you'll be able to win." Marina says with Ash saying thanks as Marina speaks.
"Well, I'm off to Azalea Town for my next contest I'll see you guys later." Marina says with the group nodding as they tell her good luck with the girl saying thank you as she begins to walk away. The group wave her goodbye until they can't see her anymore and when they're done waving Brock speaks.
"Okay I think it's time for us to go as well." Brock says with Ash and Misty, nodding as they begin walking out of the town and continue heading for Goldenrod City as the chapter comes to an end.
