Episode 365: Camping It Up
Shortly after Dawn had won the Poké Chic campaign, the group were preparing to take off from Hearthome City. But Roxas, Xion, Lea, Wes, Rui, Michael, the DigiDestined, Xipak, and Celeste were heading off on their own way to get to Canalave City. Yugi, and his friends were taking their own way.
"You sure you can't stick around with us for a while?" Sora asked.
"Sorry, but we're gonna meet up in Canalave City with Riku, Ash, and the others, so we'll see you there," Roxas said.
"Chu," Xipak said.
"And we have some other places in Sinnoh to check out," Yugi said.
"Well, it was great seeing you again, so we'll be seeing you around," Lucas said.
"I hope it'll be pretty soon," Yugi said.
"Just don't be strangers, kiddos," Mai said.
"We'll be off," Duke said.
"Good luck in your next Gym battle," Téa said.
"And good luck in your Contests, Kairi and Dawn," Serenity said.
"Thanks," Kairi and Dawn said.
So, they said their goodbyes as Roxas, Xion, Lea, the DigiDestined, Xipak, and Celeste went in one way toward Canalave City as Yugi, Té, Joey, Tristan, Mai, Bakura, Duke, and Serenity went in a different way. Just before they could take their leave, Lucas heard his Rotom Phone ringing. Lucas took it out to answer it.
"Hello?" Lucas asked. The screen shows Professor Rowan on the screen. "It's Professor Rowan!"
"We haven't seen you in a while, professor. How are things going?" Sora asked.
"Everything is going just fine. I trust your journey is going smoothly for you as well?" Professor Rowan asked.
"Yeah. Sora, Roxas, and I each have five Gym Badges, and we were about to head for Canalave City," Lucas said.
"I see. But there is a reason I am calling you. How would you like to participate in the Pokémon Summer Academy?' Professor Rown asked.
"Pokémon Summer Academy?" Sora, Kairi, Lucas, and Dawn asked.
"It's a facility I run on Mount Coronet. I host it every year with the purpose to learn about Pokémon. And when you're interested, you may come along," Professor Rowan said. Sora, Kairi, Lucas, and Dawn looked each other and they knew it would be a good excuse to learn some extra Pokémon knowledge.
"We'll take you up on your offer, professor," Sora said.
"Wonderful. It lasts for a week, so it'll officially get underway within three days. And it begins early in the morning, so try not to be late," Professor Rowan said.
"We'll try not to," Kairi said.
"We'll see you in three days, professor," Dawn said.
"I am looking forward to your arrival," Professor Rowan said as breaks contact.
"I guess it's another break for a week," Sora said.
"I know I already agreed to this, Sora, but are you sure you wanna do that? Riku and the others are already waiting for us, and they're probably in Canalave City by now anyway," Lucas said.
"They'll understand once we explain it to them. Besides, there isn't any rush anyway, and it'll only be one week," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Sora's right. It would be good excuse to learn what we can about Pokémon," Dawn said.
"Piplup," Piplup said.
"I guess there's nothing wrong with that," Lucas said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup stepped out of Hearthome City and started to make their way toward Mount Coronet. And it was smooth sailing from there, right? Well... I wouldn't be too sure. Three days later, Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup are close to Professor Rowan's Sumer Academy, but they're running late. What could have made them late? Could it have been Heartless, Nobodies, or Unversed slowing them down? No, it was actully...
"If you hand't overslept, we wouldn't have this problem!" Dawn argued.
Well, there's the matter of sleeping in...
"Well, excuse me! If you didn't too long trying to fix your bedhead, we wouldn't have this problem!" Lucas argued back.
"Would you two save your pity arguments for later?!" Sora exclaimed.
"We're already running late as it is!" Kairi added.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
The academy building was within their sights and they ran as the bell began ringing. They ran right through the academy gates.
"We made it," Sora panted.
"But you four are late!" A familiar voice called out.
"Sorry we're late, professor. We had a couple of issues that these two needed to sort out," Sora said, gesturing to Lucas and Dawn. Lucas and Dawn glared at Sora, but Kairi stepped in.
"But we realize it's no excuse for being tardy," Kairi said.
"All the same, you're welcome here to the Rowan Research facility on Mount Coronet; or all intent and purposes, your school," Professor Rowan said.
A few moments later, Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup joined up with the crowd of young Pokémon Trainers as one of his assistants is calling out to the Trainers.
"Alright, people, gather round to find out ehich class team you're on!" Professor Rowan's assistant said. Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup looked at the board to see the assigned teams.
"It looks like I'm on the red team," Sora said.
"So am I," Kairi said.
"And me too!" Lucas said.
"And me too!" Dawn said.
Just then, a familiar face came in, adjusting his glasses as he approached them.
"Looks likes I'm on the blue team," Conway said, making everyone flinch.
"What in the world? Conway?" Sora asked.
"You're here, too?" Lucas asked.
"Somehow I just knew you'd be coming," Conway said.
"We haven't seen you since the Hearthome Tag Team Tournament," Lucas said.
"Yes, it has been quite a while. Are any of your other friends here as well?" Conway asked.
"No, they're meeting up with us in Canalave City," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"I see. I was looking forward in seeing them again," Conway said. Sora, Kairi, Lucas, and Dawn chuckled nervously.
"Oookay," Sora said, feeling a tad weirded out. Professor Rowan stood up to make an announcement.
"Just as there are various kinds of Pokémon in various parts of our world, budding young trainers are no different! Today, you young people of differing ages and birthplaces have gathered together for a week of fun and excitement! Destiny has brought you all together, as you meet and work with your fellow students and their Pokémon in your classes. So, get to know one another this next week and while you're at it, have some fun!" Professor Rowan announced to the students.
"Yeah!" Everyone all said.
"I think this would be the perfect time for the Pokémon to introduce themselves! And the best way is..." Professor Rowan's assistant paused.
"A Pokémon battle!" Professor Rowan said.
"Now, that's what I'm talking about," Lucas said, taking out a Pokéball.
"Hold on a minute! Each and every one will use these Pokéballs! One Pokéball per student," Professor Rowan's assistant as another membwr of Professor Rowan's staff brought out a box full of Pokéballs.
"I get it. So, the Pokémon we all wind up getting matched with is from the luck of the draw," Kairi said.
Eevee," Angel said.
"Well, it looks like I'm about to make the first draw," Lucas said as he walked up to the box. A girl with short tel hair and amber eyes walked up to the box as well. She wore a light green short and dark green pants with a white stripe on each leg, white wristbands, and black shoes. He places his hand in it and grabbed one, but the girl grabbed the same one. They looked at each other and started to pull it. "Hey, I saw that first!"
"No, I did!" The girl argued back.
"It's mine!" Lucas and the girl argued.
"There's nothing ruder than a guy who ignores ladies first!" The girl said as she pulled the Pokéball from his hand.
"I thought it was first come, first serve!" Lucas argued.
"You would think! The name's Angie, and I challenge you to a battle!" Angie said, holding the Pokéball.
"You just talked yourself into a deal! The name's Lucas!" Lucas said, picking another Pokéball and held it.
"Good! That's the spirit! But, tomorrow's when the real battles start. The order of business today is to meet the Pokémon you chose," Professor Rowan said.
"Alright then, come on out!" Angie called out. A Monferno came out from inside.
"Hey, a Monferno," Lucas said.
"Better chose mine then," Sora said, picking one. Come on out!" Sora tossed it up in the air. A Raichu came out from inside. "What do you know, a Raichu."
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Looks like it's my turn," Kairi said, picking a Pokéball and tossed it in the air. An Abra came out from inside. "So, I got an Abra for a partner, huh?"
"Eevee," Angel said. Abra looked at Angel and then began blushing at the sight of her appearance.
"Better what I got," Lucas said, tossing his Pokéball up and out came A Prinlup. "Cool, A Prinplup." He bends down to Prinplup. "Nice to meet you, Prinplup."
"Prin, Prinplup," Prinplup said.
"Okay, my turn. Come on out!" Dawn called out. Her Pokéball opened and came a Grimer. Everyone all looked at her as Grimer started to feel depressed.
"Piplup, Piplup," Piplup said.
"You're pretty cute, you know," Dawn said. Feeling better, Grimer gave Dawn a hug and squeezes her tight.
"Nice to meet you, Monferno. The name's Angie," Angie introduced herself, but the Playful Pokémon just ignored her.
"Well, it looks like you rub Pokémon the wrong way," Lucas said.
"You shut up!" Angie hissed.
Conway ends up with a Venonat and wanted to get to know the Insect Pokémon. Monferno was running away from Angie and she chases after the Playful Pokémon. Monferno eyes a Croconaw with an aggressive manner. Same can be said for Croconaw.
"Chill out, Croconaw!" The boy said. Seeing this go down, Pikachu got between the two.
"Take it easy, you two. Save it for tomorrow." - Pikachu subtitle.
"Don't freaking tell me what to do!" - Monferno subtitle. Monferno fired an Ember into Pikachu's face. This angered Pikachu to a tee.
"Okay, that does it!" - Pikachu subtitle. Sora was getting to know Raichu when he saw what his partner was up to. Sora winced.
"No, no, no, Pikachu! Don't! Don't use Thunder-" Too late. Sora got zapped along with Monferno and Croconaw. "-bolt..."
"Don't treat Monferno like that! I'll bring out my Pokémon!" Angie said as she took out her own Pokéball and threw it. The Pokéball opened to reveal a male Shinx. "Use Spark on Pikachu!" Shinx charges at Pikachu with a Spark as retaliation for Thunderbolt. Professor Rowan stepped in.
"ENOUGH!" Professor Rowan yelled out, making Shinx stop in his tracks. He picked up both Sora and Angie by the arms. "I never told you you can use your own Pokémon in battle." He lets go of them both.
"I tried to stop my Pikachu from using Thunderbolt. I had nothing to so with it," Sora tried to explain.
"That Pikachu is yours, so it's your fault!" Angie accused.
"Hey, I was trying not to start anything!" Sora argued.
"Likely story," Angie scoffed.
"STOP!" Professor Rowan yelled, silencing Sora and Angie. "This school is not the place for quarreling! It's for making new friends with people and Pokémon! Is that understood?" Professor Rowan asked, not in a mood for a debate.
"Yes, sir," Sora and Angie answered.
"Good. So that's the end of our first hour. In tomorrow's battle, I will judge how well you've befriended your Pokémon and award points accordingly," Professor Rowan said.
"Points for what?" Sora asked.
"You mean you don't know? Points are rewarded by Professor Rowan at the end of each section," Angie explained.
"Right. And on the final day, the total number of points for each class team is added up to decide who's the big winner," Conway added.
"Well, may the best team win then," Sora said.
"Yeah, as long you don't hold us back," Angie said.
"Of course, it won't be so easy," Sora said.
The first day of the week begins as Professor Rowan's assistant is giving a lecture in class.
"Now, as we move in the second hour, how about we spend some time to get to know your new Pokémon," Professor Rowan's assistant said.
"Okay," the entire class said.
"Okay, how would you like to have a nice brush?" Sora offered to the Mouse evolved Pokémon.
"Rai, Rai," Raichu said. Sora brushes Raichu's fur, making it purr. "You sure like that, don't you?"
"Raichu, Rai," Raichu said.
"I'll take that as a yes," Sora said.
"You're brushing Raichu's fur, huh?" Angie asked.
"Yeah, just a little something I learned on my travels. I had some practice with Pikachu," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Kairi was the one who taught me how to do it," Sora said.
"Kairi?" Angie asked.
"The redhead with the Eevee. She's getting to know Abra as well as Dawn is getting to know that Grimer," Sora said as Dawn feeds Grimer a poffin.
"Those poffins looks homemade," Angie said.
"They are. She made them herself," Sora said. Dawn took out her Rotom Phone and scanned her temporary partner.
Grimer, the Sludge Pokémon
Type: Poison
Its entire body is made of sludge. It is said Grimer was born on a dirty stream exposed by rays from the moon.
"Let's see what moves you got," Dawn said as she sees Grimer's move set. "It says you can use Poison Gas, Mud-Slap, Sludge, and Gunk Shot. No need to worry, you're going to shine." Grimer gave Dawn a huge hug. "Just tell me how you really feel."
"Okay, let's see what moves you can use, Prinplup," Lucas said, looking up Prinplup's move sets. "Okay, Bubble Beam, Metal Claw, Surf, and Ice Beam. Cool! No pun intended on that last one," Lucas said.
"Prinplup," Prinplup beamed at the compliment.
"Okay, let's see what moves you got," Sora said, looking up Raichu's move sets. "Thunder Punch, Thunderbolt, Dig, and Double Team. Those are useful moves you got there," Sora said.
"Rai," Raichu said.
"Alright, let's see what moves you have," Kairi said, using her Rotom Phone to scan Abra's move sets. "Psychic, Fire Punch, Ice Punch, and Thunder Punch."
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Abra," Abra said.
"Okay, Grimer, just do what I do," Dawn said.
"Piplup," Piplup said.
"Grimer," Grimer said. Grimer started doing the same moves and poses as Dawn, much to her amazement. Grimer even stretched its body due to its body structure.
"Wow, you can stretch your body with ease! That's awesome!" Dawn said with glee. Seeing how well they were getting along with their partners, Angie decides to give it a try with Monferno.
"Alright, Monferno. Are you ready to practice a few of your moves?" Angie asked. Monferno just looked at her and fired Ember in her face. "Hey!" The Playful Pokémon jumped from one desk to another with Angie chasing after it. Monferno jumped to a shelf above Lucas and Prinplup. Monferno then fired at Angie, making her dodge it, so Lucas and Prinplup are hit instead.
"Hey, why me?!" Lucas exclaimed.
"Because you weren't paying attention, duh," Angie said. Lucas got into her face.
"Yeah?! Says who?" Lucas asked.
"Says me!" Angie shot back. They growled at each other as Professor Rowan's assistant blew a whistle, stopping them from fighting. As a punishment, the two of them are forced to run a few laps around the track.
"This is all your fault, you know," Lucas said.
"My fault?! How is it my fault?" Angie asked.
"If you just controlled that Monferno right, we wouldn't be here, running these stupid laps!" Lucas argued.
"Well, it was your fault for getting in Monferno's way, you dummy!" Angie shot back.
"Well, at least I wasn't the intended target!" Lucas argued.
"How about I paint a bullseye on your face, and maybe you'll be an easy target!" Angie argued.
"Yeah, I'd like to see you try it!" Lucas said. Their stomachs suddenly growled in hunger. "After I have something to eat first. I'm starving."
"Why don't you stop and eat something? I'll just run ahead," Angie said.
They kept on running the lap.
Inside the school building, the students were happily eating platefuls of rice curry. Lucas and Angie came back in the classroom with their legs, feeling heavy as lead.
"Glad you can join us," Sora said.
"Tell me there's at least, one speck of food left," Lucas said.
"Sorry, you two. No more," Dawn said. Lucas and ANgie groaned in disappointment.
"Say it isn't so," Lucas and Angie groaned as Sora and Kairi brought in a plate of rice curry for them.
"Just kidding!" Dawn said.
"Apart from your Horsea-play in class today, we thought you deserve some extra," Sora said.
"Thanks!" Lucas and Angie happily exclaimed as they started to eat the rice curry at a rapid pace.
"Take it easy, you two. Nobody's gonna take it off your plates," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"It just tastes good," Lucas said.
"Finally, something the both of us can agree on," Angie said.
"Just be careful not to choke," Sora said.
As the day went on, one of the activities started up with a tug of war. With Sora, Kairi, Lucas, and Dawn's skills as Keyblade wielders would have it, they managed to hold their ground and thwarted the green team. Later, Professor Rowan's assistant was giving a lecture when he hears the sound of snoring coming from Lucas and Angie. And that got them in trouble, again. And they had their dinner where Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup had lunch with Raichu, Prinplup, Monferno, Abra, and Grimer. Abra tried to win Angel's affections by giving her a bouquet of flowers. Angel thought it was sweet, but she didn't want to hurt his feelings by turning him down, but she knew she had to bring it up at some point. And then, the sun sets.
"Alright, everyone! Light's out! We have an early day tomorrow, and we'll need to make lots of plans for it!" Professor Rowan's assistant announced as the students go to their respectful team rooms. By then, Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, and Angie have changed into their pajamas. Angie wore a white shirt with orange sleeves and orange shorts.
"Light's out already? I'm not even tired," Sora said.
"I do have a deck of cards," Dawn said.
"Come on, let's play," Angie said.
"Sure, I'm game," Kairi said.
"So am I," Lucas said.
Just then, Conway comes in, wearing a pair of pajamas and a nightcap.
"Say, I'd be more than flattered to be partners with Dawn," Conway said, standing in the doorway.
"What are you doing here, Conway?! This isn't your room! Get out!" Dawn said. Conway flinched when he realized Dawn was right and she threw a pillow.
Not too long after, they played a card game.
"Dawn, you got any Kings?" Sora asked.
"Go fish," Dawn said.
"So, Angie, how is it that you never went on a journey of your own?" Kairi asked.
"It's so busy! I hardly have a free moment," Angie said.
"I can see it would be tough to find time for a journey," Kairi said.
"But it's lots of fun and I'm learning a whole bunch! I wouldn't trade it. See, someday I'm planning take over the business," Angie said.
"Awesome! Good luck!" Lucas said.
"Thanks for that," Angie said. She looked at Sora's necklace. "Hey, I never noticed it before, but what's with the necklace?"
"Oh, this? This necklace has been in my family for many generations," Sora said.
"What's so special about it?" Angie asked.
"Well, it's my family's symbol for knighthood. I actually came from a long line of knights," Sora said.
"Really? Knights?" Angie asked.
"Yeah, that's right, Angie. Sora's ancestors were awesome warriors," Lucas said.
"That's awesome!" Angie said.
"You could say that," Sora said.
"Anyway, Sora and I are traveling around the world so we could see as many Pokémon s possible," Kairi said.
"Really? That's also cool," Angie said.
"I'm aiming to becoming Sinnoh's Champion someday," Lucas said.
"You? Champion? That I'd like to see," Angie scoffed.
"Man, she has a mouth on her," Lucas said.
"I heard that," Angie said.
"As for me, I'm aiming to becoming Top Coordinator," Dawn said.
"Wow, when you dream, you dream big," Angie said. Just then, Professor Rowan's assistant came in, hearing the talks from outside.
"WHAT PART OF LIGHT'S OUT DIDN'T YOU UNDERSTAND?!" Professor Rowan's assistant shouted. Not needing to be told again, Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, Angie, Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup quickly jumped into their beds.
"Good night, everyone," Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, and Angie said, falling asleep.
"That's better," Professor Rowan's assistant said, closing the door.
On the next day, Lucas and Prinplup were doing some training.
"Okay, use Ice Beam!" Lucas ordered. Prinplup fired Ice Beam, freezing a rock. "That was awesome! Now, use Metal Claw!" Prinplup slashes through the frozen rock with a Metal Claw. "That wshe as awesome, Prinplup! You'll be a shoe-on for our maatch!"
"Prinplup!" Prinplup said.
Unknown to them, Angie was watching the two of them training, and she feels inspired.
"Now, it's my turn," Angie said. She took out Monferno's Pokéball and threw it. "Monferno, come on out!" The Pokéball opened and the Playful Pokémon came on out. "Okay, Monferno, I want you to face me and use Ember!"
"Ferno?" Monferno asked.
"Hey, I mean it! I want you to hit me with your best shot!" Angie said. Monferno complied with Angie and fired an Ember at her. And Angie dodged it by stepping to the side. "Come on! You're calling that your best shot? Try putting something behind it!" Monferno fired another Ember at Angie, but she just stepped out of the way of Monferno's Ember. Infuriated and annoyed by Angie's dodging, Monferno let's out a massive Ember, hitting her. "That's more like it! Great move! That's showing me some real heat!" Monferno just scratched its head, puzzled by what was going on. "Now, take a whack with Mach Punch, but face me like before!" Monferno came at Angie with a Mach Punch. Angie was dodging Monferno's punches. "Too slow! Keep it up and focus!"
About a half hour later, Lucas, Angie, Monferno, and Prinplup came back to the school and Lucas saw Angie was a total mess.
"Hey, Angie," Lucas greeted.
"Hey, Lucas," Angie greeted back.
"No offense, but you look like beaten up," Lucas pointed out.
"I've been working with Monferno," Angie said.
"Does that mean what I think it means?" Lucas asked.
"Yeah, we really went at it and cleared the air," Angie said.
"That's what I thought!" Lucas said.
"How is it with Prinplup?" Angie asked.
"Prinplup is a hard worker, so I'm going to let out everything Prinplup's got. Isn't that right, Prinplup?" Lucas asked.
"Prin," Prinplup said.
"Anyway, we'll meet you inside," Lucas said as he and Prinplup walked inside. Angie and Monferno walked in, getting ahead of them.
"You two are slow as a Magcargo!" Angie said.
"Oh, yeah? That's what you think!" Lucas said as he and Prinplup caught up with Angie and Monferno.
"No you don't Lucas!" Angie said, running to catch up. Sora, Kairi, Dawn, Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup were watching from the window.
"Well, they're at it again," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Yeah, and I think it's different this time," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"How?" Dawn asked.
"Well, they're becoming friends and rivals," Sora said.
"Yes, that is what I am concluding as well," Professor Rowan said, approaching Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup. "These two are the perfect example of Trainers who don't get along at first becoming formidable rivals. And that's what I love so much about this school."
"Yeah, we know what you mean, professor," Sora said.
Later, it was now time for the battles to become underway. Professor Rowan stood up and gave the announcement to the students.
"Alright, our Pokémon battles are about to begin! I want you to keep in mind your goal is to battle in such a way as to bring out the best in your Pokémon!" Professor Rowan announced.
"Yes, sir!" The students all said.
"Begin!" Professor Rowan's assistant called out.
Kairi was having her battle first, and's against a boy with a Magnemite.
"Alright, Magnemite! Use Thunder!" The boy ordered. Magnemite fired Thunder at the Psi Pokémon.
"Use Psychic, Abra!" Kairi ordered. Abra uses Psychic and sends it back at Magnemite, landing a hit. "Now, use Fire Punch!" Abra lands a Fire Punch onto Magnemite, dealing some heavy damage. Magnemite fell to the ground, beaten.
"And Magnemite is unable to continue! The winners are Kairi and Abra!" Professor Rowan's assistant announced.
"Way to go, Abra!" Kairi said.
"Abra!" Abra said.
And it was now Sora's turn as he uses Raichu against a Trainer using a Magby.
"Magby! Use Fire Punch!" The Trainer ordered. Magby rushes at Raichu with a Fire Punch.
"Double Team!" Sora ordered. Raichu made several copies of itself. Magby ends up punching a copy, making it vanish. "Thunder Punch!" The real Raichu appeared and lands a Thunder Punch onto Magby.
"Use Flame Burst!" The Trainer ordered.
"Use Dig!" Sora ordered. Raichu digs underground to avoid Magby's Flame Burst. Magby looked around for Raichu, so Raichu came up from underneath and lands a hit onto the Live Coal Pokémon. "Use Thunderbolt to finish Magby off!" Raichu fired a Thunderbolt and strikes Magby on the mark. Magby was down.
"And Magby is unable to battle! The winners are Sora and Raichu!" Professor Rowan's assistant announced.
"Great job, Raichu!" Sora said.
"Rai, Raichu, Rai!" Raichu said.
It was now Dawn's turn and she was up against Conway. Dawn had Grimer's Pokéball placed on a Ball Capsule with a Heart Sticker A.
"Grimer! Spotlight!" Dawn called out. Grimer came out with pink hearts.
You know Dawn, this isn't a Contest," Conway pointed out.
"So what? We're just getting ourselves pumped up!" Dawn said.
"Begin!" Professor Rowan's assistant called out.
"Grimer! Use Sludge! Let's go!" Dawn ordered. The Sludge Pokémon fired Sludge at Venonat.
"Venonat! Psychic!" Conway ordered. Venonat uses Psychic to block Grimer's Sludge. Venonat then sent it back at Grimer, dealing some damage.
"Conway's batter than I remember. He's in perfect sync with that Venonat," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
A little while later, Abra is using Psychic to pick some flowers, making it into a bouquet to give to Angel, so he takes it into his hands and was about to bring it to her to show his affection, but Abra was in total shock to see Pikachu and Angel nuzzling each other. Abra fell to his knees, heartbroken.
"Grimer! Use Sludge once more!" Dawn ordered. Grimer fired another Sludge at Venonat.
"Using the same attack? Then, we'll use Psychic!" Grimer unleashes Poison Gas and uses it to block Sludge. "You did it, Grimer! V for victory!" Dawn does a pose as does Grimer.
"Wow! Dawn was just great!" Angie exclaimed, impressed.
"You just wait and see what else she can do," Sora said.
"She's got something else up her sleeve," Kairi said.
"Ha-ha-ha! It's getting exciting! Venonat! Stun Spore!" Conway ordered. Venonat sprinkled Stun Spore from its body.
"Grimer! Spin and use Poison Gas!" Dawn ordered. Grimer spins around, spewing Poison Gas around itself. Venonat's Stun Spore bounced right off.
"That was quite nice. Ha-ha-ha. But Conway never gives up!" Conway said.
"That makes two of us!" Dawn said.
The battle between Dawn and Conway went on. None of them were giving in. Venonat unleashed a Supersonic, but Grimer fought back with Sludge and Poison Gas. THe battle with Dawn winning it, so she and Conway shook hands. Other battles passed right up to Lucas and Angie.
"It's time. We're finally going at it. You ready, Prinplup?" Lucas asked.
"Prinplup," Prinplup said.
"Let's give it a 110%, Monferno!" Angie said.
"Ferno!" Monferno said.
"Begin!" Professor Rowan's assistant called out.
"Monferno! Mach Punch, let's go!" Angie ordered. Monferno came at Prinplup with a Mach Punch.
"Okay, Prinplup! Metal Claw!" Lucas ordered. Prinplup uses a Metal Claw to block Monferno's Mach Punch.
"Use Flame Wheel!" Angie ordered. Monferno rolls at the Penguin Pokémon in a wheel of fire.
"Dodge and use Ice Beam!" Lucas ordered. Prinplup dodges Monferno's Flame Wheel and fired Ice Beam, hitting Monferno.
"Use Ember!" Angie ordered. Monferno fired Ember right at the Prinplup.
"Bubble Beam!" Lucas ordered. Prinplup fired Bubble Beam, blocking Monferno's Ember. "Surf!" Prinplup summons a tidal wave and brings it down.
"Dodge it!" Angie called out. Monferno ran to dodge Prinplup's Surf, but was hit by the coming water. "Don't quit, Monferno! Fury Swipes!" Monferno rushes at Prinplup with Fury Swipes.
"Metal Claw!" Lucas ordered. Prinplup came at Monferno with a Metal Claw and they each land a hit on each other. "Bubble Beam!"
"Ember!" Angie ordered.
Both Pokémon fired their chosen moves at each other.
"And time is up! That's it!" Professor Rowan's assistant announced as Monferno and Prinplup stopped battling.
"You fought hard, Prinplup," Lucas said.
"Plup," Prinlup said.
"I knew you could do it!" Angie said, hugging Monferno. Lucas and Angie fist bumped, earning an applause from the others.
After the battles, they returned their assigned Pokémon and they stood before Professor Rowan and his assistant.
"You've all done very well, working and battling with your new Pokémon, and so from this moment on, I would like all of you to make a point of meeting and making friends with the rest of the Pokémon in attendance. And now, it's time to announce the student who most developed his or her relationship with their Pokémon. From the Red Team, it's Dawn!" Professor Rowan announced.
"Way to go, Dawn," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Thanks," Dawn said, blushing.
"And after tallying up the total points for the past two days the team with the highest cumultive score is the Blue Team! Second is the Green Team, and coming in dead last is the Red Team!" Professor Rowan said.
"Last place?" Sora and Lucas asked in unison.
"Dawn made the most points in getting to know her Pokémon," Kairi said, raising her hand.
"True, but although the Red Team battled valiantly, they lost some points because of yesterday's quarreling coupled with that unexpected daytime nap," Professor Rowan said. Sora, Kairi, Dawn, Pikachu, Angel, Piplup, and the rest of the Red Team members all looked at Lucas and Angie as they sheepishly chuckled.
"Chow time, everybody!" The cook called out. "I hope everybody brough their feedbag, because you'll need it for dinner!"
"Well, I'm sure after today everyone's worked up quite an appetite," Professor Rowan said.
