June 13th, 2540 – 11:00 AM
It had been six long years since that unforgettable birthday — the one where Gally thought Yugo had forgotten her special day, only to be surprised with the best party of her life.
Since then, a lot had changed. Peace had returned to the Scrapyard. Zalem was still gone, and the world was slowly healing. Gally and Yugo had grown stronger together, and their bond had only deepened with time.
Today wasn't just another peaceful morning.
Today was their wedding day.
Gally was standing in front of a mirror at Ido's house, adjusting the white dress Ido had made for her by hand. It wasn't anything extravagant, but it was perfect. The fabric flowed like water, and it hugged her figure just right. It made her feel like a queen — strong, graceful, and proud.
Koyomi burst into the room, holding a bouquet.
"Gally! You ready?"
Gally smiled nervously.
"I think so… How do I look?"
Koyomi's eyes widened. "Girl, you look amazing."
Gally giggled. "Thanks."
"You nervous?"
"Honestly… yeah. I'm nervous and excited and… all of it."
"That's love for you," Koyomi said with a grin. "Now come on, everyone's waiting."
Meanwhile, at the greenhouse — now completely transformed into a wedding venue — Yugo was adjusting his jacket nervously. Ido stood beside him, looking proud.
"You look sharp, kid," said Ido.
"Thanks, Doc. You sure everything's ready?"
"Yep. Everything's in place. The chairs, the music, the food — even the Uno table."
Yugo laughed. "Wouldn't be a party without that."
Ido smirked. "You still think you're gonna win today?"
"I've been practicing," Yugo said confidently.
"You keep saying that every year."
Just then, the music began to play softly. The guests all stood up and turned toward the entrance.
And there she was.
Gally stepped into the greenhouse, her arm linked with Koyomi's, the sunlight glinting off her hair and dress. She looked radiant. Yugo's heart almost stopped when he saw her.
As Gally walked down the aisle, her eyes met Yugo's — and nothing else in the world mattered.
When she reached him, Koyomi gave her a quick wink and stepped back.
Yugo leaned in and whispered, "You look beautiful."
Gally smiled, "You're not too bad yourself."
Ido stepped forward with a small book in his hand, smiling from ear to ear.
"Dear friends," he began, "we are gathered here today to witness the union of two souls who have survived more than most could imagine — and come out stronger because of it."
He looked at Gally and Yugo.
"These two… they've saved each other. And in doing so, they've reminded us all what love really means."
He nodded at Gally. "Gally, do you take Yugo to be your husband, to stand by him, fight with him, laugh with him, and love him, for as long as you both live?"
"I do," Gally said, without hesitation.
Ido turned to Yugo. "Yugo, do you take Gally to be your wife, to protect her, honor her, laugh with her, and love her, for as long as you both live?"
"I do," Yugo said proudly.
"Then by the power vested in me, and by the friendship we've shared all these years… I now pronounce you husband and wife."
"You may kiss the bride."
Yugo leaned in, and Gally met him halfway. Their kiss was soft, gentle, but full of fire — the kind of love that had been forged through battle, heartbreak, and healing.
The guests clapped and cheered as Gally and Yugo turned to face them, holding hands and glowing with happiness.
Later that evening, the reception began. Tables were full of food, the air buzzed with laughter, and a playlist of classic songs echoed through the greenhouse.
"Speech! Speech!" Koyomi shouted, holding up her glass.
Gally stood up and cleared her throat.
"I'm not good at speeches," she began, "but I just want to say thank you — to everyone who's been with us on this journey. And to you, Yugo… I used to think I was meant to be alone, that love wasn't something I deserved. But you proved me wrong. And I'll never stop loving you for that."
Everyone clapped, and Yugo wiped a tear from his eye.
"Alright," he said, standing up. "Now it's my turn."
"Gally… you're not just the person I love. You're my home. And I'm going to spend the rest of my life making sure you never feel unloved again. That's a promise."
Gally smiled and kissed him again, softly.
Later, the Uno cards were brought out — as tradition demanded.
"Alright," Gally said, slapping the deck on the table. "Let's do this."
Yugo sat across from her, and Ido took his usual spot.
"Just so you know," said Ido, "wedding day or not, I'm still the Uno king."
"We'll see about that," said Yugo, cracking his knuckles.
They played for over an hour, and it was intense. Draw 4s were thrown like daggers. Skip cards caused betrayal. Reverse cards flipped friendships.
"Uno!" shouted Gally.
"Nooo!" yelled Yugo, throwing his cards.
"Hah!" laughed Gally. "Still undefeated!"
"Alright, alright," Yugo chuckled. "Let the bride win today."
"Don't even try that excuse," Gally grinned. "You just suck at Uno."
Everyone laughed.
As the night came to a close, Yugo and Gally stepped outside to look at the stars.
"I never thought we'd make it here," Yugo said quietly.
"Me neither," Gally replied. "But I'm glad we did."
Yugo looked at her, brushing a strand of hair from her face.
"I love you, Mrs. Gally."
"I love you too, Mr. Yugo."
They kissed again, under the starlight.
The world around them was still healing, but in this moment, in this quiet space — everything was perfect.
Gally leaned her head on Yugo's shoulder and whispered:
"You're still the reason I keep living."
"And you're the reason I'll never stop fighting," Yugo replied.
They stood there in silence, hand in hand, hearts beating together as one.
The End
