Chapter 6: VK Day Plans
A few months went by as per usual. Fae Bell spent most of her time in the Pharmacy, doing what she could to help all heal better than they would alone. She'd had to take a long break from making more of her salve since Harry Hook had found her passed out on the floor a couple of weeks after Uma and Mal had faced off in the water. Uma had transformed into a giant octopus teenage pirate, so giant that she could be seen from the docks. While the rest of her crew watched on the small TV at the Chip Shoppe, she sat on the dock, watching as Mal turned into a dragon and began flying and flaming at Uma. But only 10 minutes into the fight, Uma disappeared and had not been seen since.
Harry had not taken it well, determined to believe in his captain and beyond willing to fight any who said a traitorous word against the Sea Witch's daughter. As a result of the volatile actions of the first mate (acting captain), many of the crew had left. Without Uma there to temper Harry's temper, only Gil, son of Gaston, stayed on as a loyal crew member of the Lost Revenge.
Even still, there was plenty of times when Gil left to go get Fae-- his acting captain had moments where he was either super violent or refused to come out of his room upon threat of death to whomever tried. It seemed after the first few times that Fae was exempt from the actual threats but she still ended up hanging with the emotional Hook in his room.
The pharmacist fairy girl used those times to rest and relax, napping beside Harry as he messed with her short curls, petting her like a small animal. Sometimes, she woke up in his arms, on his chest as he slept with his nose in her hair and his hook hanging on a nearby bedpost. She would never admit it to him for fear of inflating his ego with even more flirty confidence but she enjoyed moments like that. It reminded her of when she wasn't alone, when her mother was alive to comfort her, before everything turned topsy-turvy. Her eyes would flutter shut and she would rather die than admit that she snuggled into her sleeping partner's embrace. They never talked about it when he woke up but she always noticed that he would hold the door for her as he decided to go steal a bite or two with her.

"VK" day? What kind of lame-ass Auradonian named this random Thursday? Fae went to the main square where the villains often had announcements, usually just trying to gather crews or henchmen for whatever scheme they cooked up to keep them from further losing their minds to boredom. But this day, it was more villain kids cheering on for a street performance brought to them by the Core Four. Some of the streets had been renamed after them as they sang about how much good they were going to do by bringing new kids over to Auradon.
Honestly, it made Fae sick, her skin flashing a red color of anger before she parkoured her way over to the Chip Shoppe. Where she waltzed in, a plate of chips sliding in front of her by Gil, Harry coming out from the back. This was still pirate territory and if they wanted this spot to keep, they had to help out. They only did this for Uma though. Because she would return to them someday soon. She was just looking for a way.
"Turncoats! All of them!" Fae yelled, her blond curls taking on a red hue as well. Harry twirled his hook as he waited for her to continue with her rant, Gil had filched some of her soggy chips. "They're back again! After everything they've done, they wander back in with promises of taking more kids over and they just EAT it up!"
Harry snorted and moved to support the enraged fairy. "Calm yeself... ye know eve'y kid on this isle wants off... and if believin' them is what they wanna do, well, they do say fools rush in~" He rolled his eyes at the term. "They'll find out what we have known all along-- promises are meant to be broken and Mal has learned that truth long ago from her mother."
The blond calmed down slowly and tilted her head. Yes, she had learned her lesson. She had been the first fool but she refused to give the dragon bitch another chance. A slow evil-ish smirk slipped across her face and her seafoam eyes clashed with his stormy blues.
"Doesn't mean you guys can't mess with them..."
Both boys grinned at the idea of doing some mischief, the biggest they've been able to do since they kidnapped the king. Gil jumped up and down with glee and Harry ran his hook along her jawbone. "So... shall we plot?"
"I'll pack up some of my salves. They said they'll come back for the chosen ones next week. Of course, they'll make a big deal about it so we can have an audience to they're humiliation!"
Harry slammed his hook on the nearby table, toppling it over as he cackled, his eyes getting that familiar crazed look. "Oh... this'll be fun, aye?"
"Aye!"

Needless to say that their scheme had failed spectacularly but it certainly allowed from some further consideration. The group came back with a long car, the show-offs, and the four tykes had been loaded up and were well on their way. The barrier had been opened as if by command but before Gil or Harry could run into the opening to cause some chaos, they had been slammed into and knocked on the ground by Hades, the God of the Underworld.
The big guy didn't even bother to cast them a look as he barrelled through the closing opening and got his head and right arm through. The rest of him was stuck on the inside but it didn't matter. Flames flashed on top of his head as he shouted in rage and single-handedly dealt with most of the people trying to stop him.
The only one who stood a chance was Mal, who had transformed into a dragon and looked ready to fireblast the god. However, the item in his hand struck some kind of blue lightning into Mal's chest and her fiery breath was more hot air than anything else. She roared at Hades with enough wind to force him back onto the Isle, tipping him head over foot until he landed for the last time.
Fae watched from the shadows, her seafoam eyes watching as the wrathful god scared the crowd out of his way. But she was more intrigued by the weakness Mal seemed to be experiencing. She grinned viciously as her precious king-fiance coddled the little liar. It was only a matter of time before they needed to come back to the Isle. Be it something the kids forgot or Mal getting herself in trouble for which an artifact kept on the Isle was necessary to "defeat evil". What a tragic, presumptuous heroine to think that she only had to ask with her poison green eyes and her lineage of Maleficent's spawn... and even the home she had betrayed would fall on their knees to assist her.
No, there were more than a few hidden thorns and loose ends that would come out to strike when she least expected it.

Fae never left her place without her bag packed with necessities. It was a bit bulky but she felt like she had to be ready at a moment's notice. The Core Four could sneak in just like last time and skulk around the Isle without being caught, despite being evil-adjacent showboats. And today, she had heard on the wind the sound of something rumbling.
She had tried to follow the sounds but whatever they were, they were faster than she was. She was currently walking towards the docks when the rumbling picked up behind her and she turned to look just in time.
A helmeted person sat on some metal contraption but her sharp fae eyes spotted the rest of his outfit and smirked. "Harry. I see you're getting up to mischief. I take it by this that they did come back?"
He took off the helmet and tossed it aside. "Just as ye said. Now, get on and le's get ready for the next phase of the plan." He waited until she had almost gotten on when he reved the engine and took off, leaving those dainty hands grasping at his sleeveless jacket and pushing herself as close to him as possible. She cursed at him with high pitched squeals that had him cackling in delight. Just because he was "nice" to her didn't mean he couldn't be mean and tease her. Kept life interesting~
But first, they had to find Gil and get rid of the rides to slow them down...
