CHAPTER 1: Trouble in The Mushroom Kingdom!

Morning light pours over the Mushroom Kingdom, casting a golden hue on the Mario Bros.' cozy home. The peaceful silence is broken by a soft knock at the door. Outside stands a quiet Shy Guy in a postal cap, clutching two letters.

The door creaks open. Mario and Luigi, still yawning from sleep, greet the messenger.

Without a word, the Shy Guy hands them each a letter and shuffles away.

Mario's letter is pink, bearing Princess Peach's royal seal. He opens it eagerly and reads aloud:

"Dear Mario,

Please come to the castle. I've baked a cake for you. Yours truly, Princess Toadstool—Peach."

Mario's eyes light up with excitement.

Luigi reads his own letter:

"Dear Luigi,

We're planning a surprise party for Mario at Yoshi's Island! I need your help decorating. Keep this secret from Mario—I'll keep him distracted.

-Sincerely, Princess Toadstool—Peach."

The brothers glance at each other, nodding and giving a synchronized thumbs-up before heading out. They wave goodbye as they hop into separate warp pipes—one leading to Peach's Castle, the other to Yoshi's Island.

Yoshi's Island –

Luigi lands on the vibrant shores of Yoshi's Island. The air is warm and filled with the sound of chirping birds. Lush green hills roll across the land, dotted with colorful fruit trees and blooming flowers. Waterfalls cascade down rocky cliffs into sparkling blue lakes. The sky above is clear, with a few fluffy clouds drifting by. Peaceful Yoshis stroll through the fields, and the island radiates a sense of calm joy. He makes his way to Yoshi's house, waving cheerfully.

"Yoshi! Look!" Luigi says, showing the invitation.

Yoshi tilts his head, confused. "Yoshi?" (Party? I don't know anything about a party.)

Before Luigi can process it, another Yoshi bursts in, panicked. "Yoshi yoshi yoshi!" (We're under attack! Kamek and the Koopaling army are here!)

Luigi and Yoshi rush outside, following the Yoshi who had warned them. They sprint through the winding jungle paths, across wooden bridges and bright meadows, until they return to the scene of the attack. The peaceful island is in chaos—dark clouds loom overhead as minions storm through the land.

Kamek floats above on his broomstick, commanding an army led by the Koopaling siblings. Their new weaponry includes strange mechanical robots with vacuum arms and cages strapped to their backs.

Luigi and Yoshi fight back with skill and courage. Luigi throws fireballs while Yoshi swallows enemies and spits them back as eggs. For a moment, it seems like they might hold their ground.

But the Koopaling siblings are more powerful than expected. Each of the Koopalings pilots a towering vacuum-armed robot suit, specially designed to capture Yoshis and overwhelm intruders. Morton's robot slams into the ground with massive fists, shaking the earth. Iggy's suit zips around erratically, launching blasts of energy. Lemmy's bounces wildly on spring-loaded legs, making him hard to track. Wendy's robot spins through the air, launching magical rings in rapid bursts. Roy's heavily armored suit fires shockwaves from shoulder cannons, tearing through the forest floor.

Luigi blocks and counters, but he's pushed to his limits. Yoshi dodges as best as he can, but even his speed isn't enough to outpace them all.

Yoshi yells, "Yoshi yoshi!" (There's too many of them!)

Luigi nods, panting. "We gotta move!"

The two retreat into the forest, weaving through trees, dodging magical blasts and mechanical weapons. The Koopalings chase them, laughing and taunting as their machines close in. Just as it seems they might escape, Kamek hovers above with a wicked grin. He points his wand at the ground, and with a flash of blue light, a glowing rope of magic bursts from the earth. It slithers across the ground like a serpent and wraps tightly around Luigi and Yoshi's legs. Before they can react, the rope yanks them upward, tying itself to a nearby tree branch and leaving them dangling upside down, trapped and helpless.*

Kamek floats down from the sky, laughing as he points his wand at them. "Heheheh! Gotcha!"

He grins wickedly. "Looks like you're stuck—with me!"

Kamek hovers above the trapped Luigi and Yoshi, laughing to himself. "Aw, did you really think this was just a party? Heheh... We tricked you good!"

He spins once in the air, wand glowing. "Bowser planned this from the start. The letters, the setup—it was all part of the plan!"

Luigi and Yoshi glance at each other, eyes wide with worry. "Yoshi..." (This is bad..)

Kamek chuckles. "Allow me to explain."

Peach's Castle-

30 minutes ago...

Inside Peach's Castle, peace reigned. Sunlight streamed through the stained-glass windows, casting soft, colorful patterns across the polished marble floors. Toads bustled about in their daily routines—dusting chandeliers, tending to flowers, and humming cheerful tunes as they moved through the grand halls. The scent of freshly baked sweets wafted from the kitchen, and laughter echoed from the courtyard as a few Toads played near the fountain.

Then, without warning, that peace was shattered. A swirling portal ripped open in the throne room. From it steps Bowser, flanked by Kamek and a host of minions. His hulking figure radiates dominance, and his right hand glows with a menacing dark green aura, pulsing with power gifted to him by the Hooded One.

With a wave of his glowing claw, waves of magic surge outward. Toads rush to defend the castle, but Kamek casts a sweeping spell that pins them against the walls—trapping them in magical stasis, their bodies pinned to the castle walls by glowing bands of energy. They can wiggle and struggle, but no matter how hard they try, the magic binds them in place—unable to leave their spot or break free..

"Heh... this is almost too easy," Bowser mutters, his voice echoing through the chamber.

With the Toads immobilized, Bowser wasted no time. Empowered by the dark aura in his right hand, he stormed through the castle's chambers, collecting every Power Star the kingdom had hidden away. Vaults were torn open, barriers shattered—nothing could withstand his strength. Each star pulsed as he took it, the castle growing darker with every one he claimed.

Only once the final star was in his possession did Bowser approach the grand hall.

In the main chamber, Princess Peach stood beneath the stained-glass window bearing her likeness. Her expression was fierce, but worry flickered in her eyes.

"Bowser! Stop this!" she cried.

Bowser smirked, taking a few heavy steps forward. "Hello, Princess. Happy to see me?" His voice was calm but dripping with menace.

Peach stood firm. "You won't get away with this! The Mario brothers will stop you!"

Bowser chuckled, a deep and sinister sound. "Oh? Is that so? They may have thwarted my plans last time. But this time… things are different." He raised his glowing hand, the dark green aura intensifying. "This time, I have a new and improved plan. One that will tear your heroes apart before they even know what's happening." A surge of power erupts forth, enveloping Peach in a swirling crystal prison. With a flash of green and gold light, she becomes encased within the decorated glass pane, high above the castle gates.

"Now that's more like it!" Bowser growls. "Now stay put, Princess.. I have a Kingdom to rule!!"

With his enemies subdued, Bowser tears open the ground beneath the throne. Dark energy seeps upward as he opens a portal to a newly created dimension—a vast, eerie void filled with floating platforms, narrow catwalks, towering staircases, and a swirling dark sky. The terrain constantly shifts, and the sense of direction is warped, as if gravity bends around Bowser's will.

"This new power is incredible! Stopping Mario will be easy!" Bowser roars with a wicked grin.

Deep within this new domain, Bowser convenes with his six chosen commanders: King Bob-omb, Whomp King, Big Boo, Big Bully, Chill Bully, and Wiggler.

From his clawed hand, six glowing Power Stars emerge.

"You will each rule your own domain. Do with them as you please—but guard your Power Stars well."

His eyes narrow, his voice dripping with menace. "Mario will surely come. Do not fail me…"

They acknowledge and vanish into their own portals, each carrying a Power Star.

Bowser turns to Kamek. "Kamek, Begin Phase Two."

Kamek bows. "It will be done sire."

Moments later, near the outskirts of the Mushroom Kingdom, Kamek hovers behind a tall tree overlooking the Mario Bros. home. A silent Shy Guy stands before him, wearing a small satchel.

Kamek hands him two letters—one pink and royal, the other plain. "This one's for Mario, and this one's for Luigi. Deliver them straight to the house. Just knock and leave. No talking."

The Shy Guy nods once, clutches the letters tightly, and quietly hurries off toward the front door of the Mario Bros.' house.

Kamek watches him go, twirling his wand. "Let the games begin..."

Back at Yoshi's Island-

Kamek grins as he finishes explaining to Luigi and Yoshi.

"You see.. Bowser has everything he needs. The castle, the stars, the princess—all under his control. Soon, every kingdom across these lands will kneel before him. And when Mario walks into our trap, there will be no one left to challenge his rule."

Luigi and Yoshi glance at each other, stunned. "Yoshi! Yoshi Yoshi!" (Oh no! This is really bad!)

Luigi grits his teeth. "You won't get away with this, Kamek. Mario will stop him!"

Kamek chuckles darkly. "Heh Heh Heh. You really think so eh? —Not a chance! By the time he realizes what's happening, it'll be too late! Bowser has already won. The Mushroom Kingdom... Will be ruled by Lord Bowser!"

Luigi struggles, furious. Spotting a Fire Flower in his pocket, he ignites it and hurls a fireball, burning through the magical rope. Both he and Yoshi drop and land on their feet. Kamek and the Koopalings were caught by surprise.

Without hesitation, Luigi spots three nearby Red Koopas. He quickly defeats them with precise jumps and grabs their shells. He tosses the first shell at Yoshi—who swallows it and spits out a stream of fireballs—then throws the second and third in quick succession, allowing Yoshi to build up even more fiery attacks.

The minions are scrambling around in a panic. Kamek, frustrated at the scenario, he commands the Koopalings. "Get them!"

The Koopalings acknowledged and began their assault. Yoshi speeds through the chaos, dodging the Koopaling machines. Luigi fights valiantly. He sees one of the Koopalings were about to capture Yoshi, he took this opportunity to push Yoshi out of the way. Luigi was captured again.

Yoshi stops. "Yoshi!" (Luigi!)

Luigi, bruised and caught by the arm of a Robot that a Koopaling was controlling. He turns his head and shouts, "Go, Yoshi! Warn Mario!"

"Yoshi..." (But Luigi...)

Then More of the Koopalings were aiming for Yoshi. He dodges their incoming attacks. Realizing there was no time. With a sad nod, Yoshi escapes into a nearby warp pipe. Luigi watches with relief.

Kamek snarls. "He got away! You'll regret that!" He raises his wand at Luigi but hesitates. "No... I'll warn Lord Bowser he will deal with him easily."

Kamek adjusts his glasses, "Even if that Dinosaur escaped.. it still won't change anything!"

Kamek points the wand at Luigi's face, "For that stunt I could use my magic to turn you into dust but Bowser has plans for you.." He then gestures to one of the Koopalings. "Put him in the cage."

The machine activates, vacuuming Luigi into a large cage attached to the robot's back.

Meanwhile..

In the Dark World, Bowser stands before a large floating screen as one of the Lakitus projects Kamek's image through a magical feed.

"How goes the mission?" Bowser growls.

Kamek bows from the other side. "Luigi has been captured. However... Yoshi escaped. I believe he is headed your way in hopes to warn Mario."

Bowser narrows his eyes for a moment, then smirks. "Hmph. Let him run. I'll deal with him myself when the time comes. Mario should be arriving at the castle any moment now."

"Shall I proceed with the rest of the plan?" Kamek asks.

"Yes," Bowser replies. "Everything is going exactly as we planned."

The feed fades out.

One Koopaling hesitates. "What if Yoshi ruins the plan?"

Kamek smirks. "Lord Bowser said he will handle the problem. Everything is going according to plan. Soon We will be bowing before the new King of the Mushroom kingdom." He laughed.

They all laughed.

Meanwhile back at the Mushroom kingdom…

Mario leaps from a green pipe outside Peach's Castle.

Mario lands and is greeted by aLakitu, camera in hand.

"Welcome, Mario! You've arrived at Peach's Castle! We're broadcasting live!"

Inside the Dark World, Bowser watches the feed, grinning.

"The Power Stars are missing," the Lakitu reports. "What will you do, Mario?"

Mario furrows his brow. Something's wrong. He rushes toward the castle.

A deep, echoing voice greets him. "Welcome. No one's home! Now scram — and don't come back! Gwa ha ha!"

Meanwhile… Somewhere in the Universe.

Far from the Mushroom Kingdom, deep in the void between worlds, stars shoot across the cosmos.

A lone stage floats in the endless dark.

A swirling portal opens at the edge. The Hooded One steps through. The wind is still. The stars are silent.

Before him stands a massive statue—a giant, stone hand, bound in golden chains.

The Hooded One stares, eyes glowing beneath his hood.

"Finally… after all this time…" he whispers. "I have found you."
