I DO NOT OWN TOTAL DRAMA (or mha)

CAMERON

Cameron was currently in his bubble inside his house with his mother. Today was a big step for him because today was the day he was going to leave not only his bubble, but his house as well. His mother worried about him more than he worried about himself. He's hardly ever left his house and he's lived in this bubble almost all his life due to his weak body and his mothers paranoia. It was a miracle he was even able to convince his mother at all to try this, but after giving her logic and embarrassingly begging her, she caved in. It was finally here, today he was taking a big first step because he was literally stepping out of his comfort zone.

He was currently standing right across the front door, breathing in anticipation and excitement. HIs mother was standing by the side, clasping her hands together and looking at her son nervously.

"Now Cameron, remember that there is no shame in stopping here if you don't feel ready. There is no rush." His mother reminded.

"Mom, we've been over this." Cameron argued. "I need to do this, I want to fit in with the other kids and make friends. Besides, I'm just going for a walk, starting small, remember?"

"Oh alright." His mother sighed, reaching for the zipper for his bubble. "But the second something feels off, I want you to come straight home. You understand?"

"Of course, I promise mom." Cameron placed his hand against the bubble, showing his palm towards his mother. She smiles and places her hand on his, happy at the idea that they'll be able to touch each other without anything in between. Cameron then stands back, takes a deep breath and gives his mother a nod. She smiles and then starts to slowly unzip the bubble. Once she was done, she stepped back and let Cameron remove the bubble. He stepped out of it and headed towards the door. He reached for the doorknob, taking another deep breath, and opened the door.

The second he stepped outside, it felt like he was experiencing everything for the first time. He could feel the sun bathing his skin, the smell and taste of fresh air, the wind rushing through him. He had a huge smile on his face as he took all of this in. He was so overwhelmed with joy, that he failed to notice his eyes rolling in the back of his head and returning to normal in just one second.

Cameron turns around and faces his mother. "Okay mom, I'll be back in about 10 minutes." Cameron told her. She still looked worried but she nodded and closed the front door behind her. Cameron then began walking down the sidewalk and exploring his neighborhood. He was able to get a very good look at all the houses and neighbors living here. He had already knew these people and seen the houses whenever he drove with his mother in the car, though that was rare.

He was so fascinated by the many of the actions and activities his neighbors were doing. He kept walking and saw kids running through the sprinkler, kids playing with frisbee, kids riding their bikes, and so much more. It was like he was walking through an oversized playground, except he was never allowed to play on the playground.

He looked ahead and saw a car swerving left and right as it was coming down the neighborhood road. Cameron froze, afraid of moving forwards towards the car or back since the car was heading towards him. When the car swerved onto the sidewalk, Cameron closed his eyes and held his hands in front of his face, preparing for the inevitable. However, something different happened.

Before the car could make contact, a transparent sphere made out of red colored grids surrounded Cameron. When the car finally hit, it impacted the bubble and launched it forward. Cameron landed several meters away and across the street, but thanks to the bubble he was completely unharmed. He just rolled around in the bubble.

Cameron sat up and rubbed the back of his head with a groan, then opened his eyes. What he saw shocked him because it looked like he was in some kind of giant red hamster ball. Cameron stood up and pressed his hands against the walls. He began to panic as he kept pressing against the walls and couldn't find a way out. He then started banging his fist against the bubble.

"Help! Get me out of here!" Cameron shouted. Unfortunately, he had to wait because the neighbors were busy helping the man behind the car that hit him. He looked down at himself and realized that he was completely unharmed. He then looked around in this bubble, whatever it was it apparently saved him. The irony of this situation couldn't have been more obvious, leaving the safety and conformity of one bubble only to end up in another one. Cameron couldn't help but chuckle in relief.

Apparently, that was all it took for the red grid bubble to disappear. Cameron was caught off guard by this and landed on his butt. Cameron was shocked by how quickly the bubble disappeared, but he didn't have time to think about that as some of the neighbors ran up to him.

"Cameron, is that you boy?" His neighbor, Mr. Wilson asked. He held out his hand to help Cameron up. "What are you doing out here, I don't think I've ever seen you outside before."

Cameron took Mr. Wilson's hand and let him get off his feet.

"Yeah Mr. Wilson, I was just stepping out of my comfort zone I guess." He said awkwardly.

"Did you see what happened?" His neighbor Jenna asked, gesturing to the car crash.

Cameron didn't know how to answer, he just stared down at his hands and wondered where that bubble came from. He was so in shock, he could only think of one thing to say.

"I don't know."

He can generate a gridded bubble around him in moments of crisis. Specifically, when he's afraid or feels in danger.
