Chapter 10

It was about ten minutes out and her eyes widened slightly when he pulled into the driveway of…a big house. "Whoa…" THIS was Jon's place?

The house was HUGE as she slowly stepped out of the vehicle to take it all in and tore her attention away from it long enough to grab her bags from the back. When they stepped through the door, Delilah squealed out at a HUGE English bulldog rushing at them at full speed and blinked, not believing Jon had a dog. What other secrets and changes had this man made during his WWE tenure?

"Oh shit!" Jon dropped before Blue could do it for him, catching the mongrel in his arms and groaned. "No, no kisses for Daddy…" He got them anyway, extremely wet and drooly, full tongue kisses because dogs did not care about any type of boundaries. Looking up at her from his place on the floor, legs outstretched before him, the dog settled on his lap, sort of. "This is Blue." He grinned, loving the look on her face. Dogs when they were kids…everyone had wanted a pet, but how did one feed an animal when they were barely eating enough for themselves? "Come on down, babe, and say hi, he's friendly." Unless someone broke in, then the kisses became chow time and Blue had some strong jaws that would snap a hand easily.

The dog had beautiful light blue eyes, so she understood where the name came from. He was beautiful and seemed friendly enough, so Delilah slowly dropped to her knees in front of the dog and Jon. Reaching her hand out, remembering not to tense or be afraid, because animals could sense fear, Blue looked at it for a moment or two. Delilah smiled as he sniffed her hand before nudging it and moved away from his owner to start getting attention from the new person in the house.

"You're such a good boy, aren't you? You're so handsome – yes, such a handsome boy." Delilah crooned, scratching behind Blue's ears and laughed when he dropped to roll on his back, so she could give him a belly rub. While she rubbed Blue's belly, she looked up to meet Jon's amused eyes before dropping them back on the dog, finally stopping to stand back on her feet. "All right, Moxley, give me the grand tour of this place and show me which room I'll be staying in, so I can put my stuff in there."

"I can't, sorry doll, but I think Blue is in love with you." He chuckled, amusement in his tone while rising to his own feet, glancing down at Blue, who was staring at Delilah expectantly, as if she was obviously wrong in stopping the attention. Bending, Jon swiped her bag over his shoulder and grabbed the rolling luggage she had set down in order to greet Blue. "Come on, this way." He knew this house was a bit much, at least if one knew who he was growing up and when he had been younger, but…that was probably the point. He had busted his backside to get here and he wouldn't spend the rest of his life in a tiny, bedbug infested apartment.

It truly was a beautiful home and the décor was both manly and had a nice homey feeling to it, the deep browns and tans blending well together. She followed him upstairs, sliding her hand against the deep cherry wood oak railing and couldn't believe how many bedrooms this place had. It shouldn't have been surprising, but Delilah idly wondered why Jon needed these many bedrooms. There were five up here just upstairs and she was sure there were some downstairs.

Then again, maybe not.

Jon opened a door and ushered her inside, letting her set her things down on the carpeted floor. The room itself was standard, generic, nothing special or outstanding about it, but it would definitely work. It was also one of the only guest rooms that had its own bathroom, so at least she would have SOME privacy.

"Why not just have your friends you invited out stay here? Or are you having other people stay here besides me and there's no room?" That was also a huge possibility.

Jon looked exasperatedly down at her; he had already told her in the car. He didn't like the implication of her either forgetting already what he had said or she hadn't really been listening. Didn't like that at all, Jon didn't like being ignored, especially by the woman he was pursuing, even if she was adamant he stopped his antics and stayed clear of him. That was working out GREAT for Delilah so far, wasn't it?

"I did ask them over, they declined and said fuck it." He reminded her, doing his best not to sound annoyed. "Well, I did it via text, but…same difference." It was just them and it was perfect.

On the contrary, Delilah DID listen to him and now she had a whole SLEW of questions to throw his way. The first one being why the hell was he at the hotel in the first place if his friends, who bailed on him, were going to stay here? Now he was confusing her, and she arched a slow brow. "Wait a minute, back up. You were at the hotel asking if there were spare rooms BECAUSE of those friends. Right?" Delilah folded her arms in front of her chest and narrowed her eyes slightly. "Moxley, you have a HUGE freaking house and you invited me to stay here, so why didn't you offer it to them?" That made no sense at all.

"Because, doll, WHY would I?" Jon shot back with a snort, wondering what her damage was now. This woman had issues and she assumed way too much about him, based on who he HAD been. Certain things HAD changed. She obviously didn't trust him. "I was at the hotel trying to get them rooms, they were calling everywhere, and I was sent there by the Plaza because they were also out of rooms. When I did offer some rooms, they said no." Probably because they knew he was liable to do bad things to them if he got them drunk, like send them outside with the bees. "Do YOU invite all your friends over to crash at your place?" No, she didn't. Sami had forced her hand when it came to him staying there that one night. It hadn't even occurred to her to offer him her couch.

What made her so different from his friends, though, besides she had tits and a vagina? Then again, maybe Jon did have other female friends, though she doubted it. Highly. He had flat out and openly invited her here before he even knew she'd sign with AEW. "I'm also in a one-bedroom apartment that's about the size of your front yard." She pointed out, turning her back to him and, since her hair was piled on top of her head, the tank top she had on revealed something Jon had missed.

On each shoulder blade were dragon wings. They had red black and a hint of grey in them and it started at her shoulders and trailed all the way to the middle of her back. They weren't as big as she would have liked, but given her petite size, the man suggested to go a little smaller. Dragons were a huge obsession of Delilah's and she had quite a bit of dragon memorabilia scattered in her apartment, especially in her room. Jon had noticed the dragon thing at her apartment, though he had definitely not noticed the tattoos. HOW had he missed those? She had been wearing tank tops with her hair up when he had stayed with her, so he was definitely not admiring her body properly.

"Nice ink." He rumbled, reaching out to run a finger down along one side of the wings, wondering how long it had taken the tattooist to do this, probably awhile. What made her different, he wasn't answering that if she ever asked. "So, Del, come on, you can see the outside next." She'd love it, everyone did, and he'd even wear clothes if they went swimming, or into the hot tub. Maybe.

That spot his finger trailed down was instantly lit on fire as Delilah turned to look at him, cracking a small smile at his compliment. "Thanks. And okay."

She followed him out of the room, shutting the light off and wasn't surprised when Blue was on their trail, probably needing to go outside to potty. Jon led her down the stairs into a corridor that lead to the kitchen and living room, the house having somewhat of an open floor plan. Delilah watched him open the sliding glass door and screen before they stepped out while Blue did his business in the grass.

"Oh wow…nice pool and hot tub!" She grinned, admitting that water looked very inviting and she could only imagine how amazing the hot tub was, especially after a long night of wrestling. "You really do have it made out here, don't you, Good? I'm officially jealous."

"Hey, all you have to do is sell your soul and all this can be yours too." He laughed, shaking his head. 'Prison' had paid well, there was no doubt about that. Though, he didn't see himself ever volunteering to go back. He had served his time and then some. Jon stared at his luxuries, that's exactly what they were too. "I don't like people coming here." He said finally, glancing at her. "I know I invited you, but you know me, where I come from." Her background was very similar. "I figured you, and Sami, would get all this." Coming from nothing, yes…they would.

"I get it." Delilah nodded in understanding and started laughing at how ridiculous she'd been acting. "And here I thought this was some grand scheme of yours to get me here all alone. I'm such an idiot." She walked over to pet Blue, really liking this dog. He was very friendly, but she knew he could also be a killer and would never want to be on the dog's bad side. "You did good for yourself, Mox. The 16-year-old boy who refused to take no for an answer and nearly slashed Les Thatcher's tires would be very proud." Jon had busted his backside for all he had today; nothing came easy for him and he had to eat and swallow a lot of crap in WWE for the riches they gave him.

Jon didn't know what to say to all that, flashing her a small smile. Delilah was NOT wrong about all of it. The hotel thing, that had been him. The car thing, that had been Lady Luck paying her favorite son a visit. "Nah, that kid would be sickened." He'd have been called a sellout, a spoiled rich bitch, young Jon had been bitter and angry. Young Jon had been a bit of an idiot with a chip on his shoulder. "Want to go for a swim? Or should I show you which ride is yours while you're here?"

"Why don't I just ride with you to the arena? I'm staying here and we're going to the same place. It doesn't make sense to take two vehicles there and back." Delilah suggested, pointing out valid reasons and stood up after dropping a kiss on Blue's head. She would spend more time with the dog later and walked up to him, once again testing herself with the boundaries and anxiety. "Unless you don't want to carpool with me, which is fine too." It was his decision, his cars, his house, his rules…speaking of rules… "Hey, are there any rules you want me to follow while I'm here?" It WAS a really nice house, so he had to have some kind of rules, right?

Jon was pleased with the car bit, not that he showed it. He figured her having access to a vehicle while she was here would be something that would help set her mind at ease. Delilah was doing this, however, out of trying to be an inconvenience and she was a practical person. He'd take it, anything for the cause.

"Nah, not really, doll," He turned back towards the house, Blue falling into step with him as they ambled back inside. "Don't fuck with my stuff and other than that, mi casa su casa."

Why would she screw with his belongings? Delilah would never understand this man, but at the same time, she understood why he would say something like that. Jon showed her the kitchen, which was huge and the living room. It had black leather furniture, a huge flat-screen television with all the bells and whistles. The house was incredible, she was very happy for him and hopefully, one day, maybe she would have a place half as nice as this. With the money AEW was paying her yearly, it would be possible in a year or two if she played her cards right.

"All right, the tour is over, so where's the booze, Moxley? I do not care it's only two in the afternoon, I really need a drink or two." Three, four, maybe five…Delilah wouldn't go overboard, but she wanted a nice buzz.

"Downstairs." He grunted, leading the way down after grabbing a few bottles of water out of the fridge.

He liked getting blitzed as much as the next person, but hangovers were a result of dehydration, alcohol dehydrated, and he lived in the middle of a desert to boot. Once downstairs, he flipped on the lights, revealing what he called his 'rec room'. Fully stocked bar, pool table, another giant television, and a stereo system with speakers in every corner…this was where he spent a lot of time and it was probably messed up he also had workout equipment down here because working out and drinking didn't go hand in hand, but the setup suited him.

"Have at it, Del." He gestured at the bar, not surprised when she immediately went right behind it, walking up to sit at the counter and grinned while perusing the liquor.

Gliding her fingertips over the bottles strewn in front of her, Delilah tapped her chin thoughtfully and went for the bourbon. She wasn't a normal woman and loved a good, strong bourbon to take the edge off after a long night. In this case, she had a long day and had been up since 1 AM. Maybe after having a few drinks, she would take a much-needed nap and poured herself a healthy dose in a tumbler, taking a sip of it.

"Mmm…" Her eyes closed at the smooth bourbon and was glad Jon hadn't bought the cheap stuff. "Have a drink with me." Delilah poured him one and slid another tumbler on the bar toward him. "Please? It's rude to make your guests drink by themselves, you know. You're a host, need to play the part."
