Chapter 4: Old People Stories

"H-Hey. It's actually not that bad…but how am I supposed to ask for more?" Then, Blue got the idea to use sign language to the bartender in case he ran out too soon.

He walked around for a little bit more and stumbled across a weirdly pear-shaped house. As the front door of the house opened, a pale-looking, mauve-haired middle aged woman with veins on her face and a man, presumably her husband, who was also pale, reddish-haired and middle-aged stepped outside to greet him.

The man introduced himself first. "Vei, Vermillion."

"Prsh'í'haet," the lady introduced herself. "Vei, Edina."

Blue immediately knew she was trying to say hello, so he tried to say it back to her.

"Purshi- hat..?" Blue tried to imitate the language she was speaking. He looked directly at the two then back at the house. "Vei…Henry?

I speak a language called English and I'm trying to go back to my home planet and I think I might need a little help over here."

The older woman handed Blue a pair of special earplugs. Upon putting them on, it immediately translated what Edina and Vermillion were saying into English. Blue touched the earplugs, confused, and was shocked (in a good way) at what they could do. He looked back at Vermillion and Edina, who also had the earplugs. She floated to the door and opened it.

"Come with me, Henry," the reddish-haired man smirked at him and took him into the house, which had distorted and floating photos, and a bunch of papers, it had a bunch of advanced technology, and was more unique than Earth's, with a bunch of floating tubes, tiles that changed colour whenever someone chose to change them, colourful floating orbs, and some weird sayings in Dionyse.

"So…floating here is considered normal?" the blue-haired man questioned, looking around, fascinated by the house's appearance as the three sat down at a table. The blue man's eyes sort of sparkled. "Neat!"

"Yes," Edina replied calmly. "People fly in the air all the time."

"Whoa, that's so fascinating!" Blue exclaimed. He got up from his seat, but his tone was suddenly aggressive. "And can you explain why the fuck there was a couple making out in public, in front of many people, unembarrassed?!"

Blue's face flushed a light red when he felt himself levitating off the ground, making him slightly break away from his frustration.

"People have intercourse all the time," Vermillion replied, unamused. "It's tradition."

"So umm…what are these?" Blue pointed to some CVs behind him, floated over and pressed one of them, a dynamic one of sorts. It was playing some kind of song, with lyrics that Blue of course didn't understand at all...it had an awfully playful tune but it was pretty loud, it sounded like a subverted children's song. The blue-haired man pulled up his sleeve. He felt familiar with it as it seemed to be to him, a tune that sounds similar to what Red likes to sing before bed sometimes, only Red sung it milder.

"I thought this was gibberish!" Blue thought to himself.

"They're from a library collection," Edina replied. Blue looked behind to look at her. Floating

Edina took Blue to the TV, as Vermillion in another room was drinking a beverage, and all there was playing and being shown on it was a bunch of porn, sex and people saying weird things in the foreign language. Blue looked away, disgusted, imitating a vomiting noise. He tried some other tapes but they were mostly more of the same. The culture was a bit strange after all…

"Is this seriously all you have? Porn this, porn that?" Blue waved his hands. The material provided him a sort of openness and liberty to some inner feelings that he didn't like to share outwardly. He finally decided to ask them if they have any resources for a rocket, but then the latter spoke first.

"Can I tell you something?" Edina offered.

"Umm…ok?" Blue replied, starting to smile a bit. He found the two strange but amusing.

"You see…I used to be an experimentalist, and I specialised in running tests on people, this is the DNA of one of my test subjects…" Edina showed him a tube of a weird colour of blood.

"Is it also a tradition here…?" Blue thought Edina sounded pretty cultural when telling him the information, it was almost as if she treated the testing as a tradition…maybe in the family? Or maybe on the whole planet.

"Yes," Vermillion lied, joining in. "Powers are a thing here!" The man floated away as Edina followed along, seeming to get a beverage. Blue was fixated on something behind him; a door surrounded with a sort of gooey substance, like an entrance to somewhere.

"Henry?" Vermillion turned his head to blue, some of his skin's veins aglow.

Blue snapped out of his gaze. "Yes?" he asked.

"Would you like to come and," the older man's tone switched to a more "lively" tone. "-get a VYIÓLÓ?"
