It was a sunny afternoon, and the group were playing games in the recently discovered game room. The cup brothers were playing Monopoly. Cuphead is struggling to win while Mugman was making a lot of paper money.
"Ugh! Why are you making so much money?!" Cuphead asked frustratingly.
"Because some of us know how to save money, not constantly spending them." Mugman said folding his arms.
Cuphead groaned.
"This is stupid. If I had all the money in the world, I'd buy everything I want." Cuphead said.
"Cuphead, there will never be enough money to satisfy anyone. When are you gonna learn that money doesn't grow on trees?" Gwen pointed out as she and Clarence were playing checkers.
Ms. Chalice was playing on a pinball machine.
"Sounds like Cuphead's got a money problem." Ms. Chalice said.
"Hey! No, I don't." Cuphead protested.
"She's right Cuphead. He who wants everything loses everything." Clarence quoted.
"Eh, I ain't too worried about it." Cuphead said dismissing his advice.
"Careful Cuphead. One day, your excessive desire for money is gonna get you into a lot of trouble." Gwen cautioned.
Cuphead sighed.
"Fine. Let's play something else. I'm bored." Cuphead said sadly as he got up.
They all gathered around to play cards.
After a while, they head back to the main room in the palace.
"So, what do you guys wanna do now?" Clarence asked.
"I wanna get out. Go somewhere fun." Gwen said.
"Ooh! Where are we going this time?" Cuphead asked eagerly.
Gwen looks at her globe and spun it around to look at some choices on the North American continent.
"Let's see… no we visited Mexico, Florida, Canada, California, New York, Texas, Alaska and Hawaii. Hmm…" Gwen said to herself.
Clarence looked at the globe and spotted something.
"Ooh, what about the City of Lights?" Clarence asked.
"Wait. As in Las Vegas? The city of gambling and nightlife?" Gwen asked.
"Ooh! Let's go there!" Cuphead said excitedly.
"Well, there's lots of other fun things to do." Gwen said.
"What kind of fun stuff?" Mugman asked.
"There's magic shows, comedy shows, and dancing. There's even a dam being constructed ordered by President Roosevelt himself." Gwen answered.
"I'm in! Let's go!" Ms. Chalice said excitedly.
"Did Zeus give the all-clear?" Clarence asked.
Gwen opens a little scroll and read it.
"Yep. He said it's safe to go. He was impressed with how we dealt with King Dice in Portugal. And he laughed too." Gwen said.
She teleports and find themselves in downtown Las Vegas, surrounded by casinos, hotels and various buildings with shows.
"Woah! Casinos!" Cuphead exclaimed excitedly.
He attempts to run into one of the casinos when Gwen grabbed his handle and pulled him back and gave him a stern look as she held him.
"Cuphead? What do you think you're doing?" Gwen asked with a hint of anger in her tone.
"Uh… going to have fun?" Cuphead nervously lied.
"You said something about casinos and attempted to run off." Gwen sternly said, seeing through his lie.
"Didn't you learn something earlier?" Clarence asked.
"Let me make something perfectly clear. We're here to have fun, but not the kind of fun where we waste money on pointless gambling where the house always wins. So, my number one rule while were here is: Absolutely… no… gambling." Gwen firmly gave her warning.
Cuphead gulped, knowing she was serious.
"Am I clear?" Gwen asked.
"Yes Gwen! No gambling!" Cuphead fearfully answered.
"Good." Gwen said.
She turned to Mugman and Ms. Chalice.
"You hear that guys? Absolutely no gambling." Gwen said, applying to them to.
"Yes, Gwen." Both cups answered.
"Good. Now, let's head to that magic show that's about to start." Gwen said, calming down.
The group head to a theater, purchased tickets and watched a magician perform spectacular tricks.
"He's good. But he'll never be good as Djimmi." Gwen said.
"I'll bet." Clarence said.
The cups cheered for the magician.
Next, they head to another theater and watched two comedians named Abbott and Costello performing standup. Everyone laughed at their jokes.
"Did you get it? Who is the first baseman?!" Cuphead asked and laughed.
"Yeah, we know." Mugman said.
"Yeah, they should do movies like the Three Stooges." Ms. Chalice said.
"Maybe someday they will." Clarence said.
Next, they teleport to a construction site in the Black Canyon.
"Ooh! What are they building?" Mugman asked.
"That my friend is gonna be the Hoover Dam." Clarence answered.
"Hoover?" Ms. Chalice asked.
"They're naming it after President Herbert Hoover." Gwen explained.
"I thought Franklin Roosevelt is the president." Ms. Chalice said.
"No, Hoover was president before Roosevelt today." Gwen corrected.
"Oh." Ms. Chalice said.
"Why are they building it?" Cuphead asked.
"So that it could control floods, provide irrigation water for the farmers and produce hydroelectric power." Gwen answered.
"Neat." Cuphead said.
"I'm hungry, let's go for some good food." Clarence said.
"Yeah!" All 3 cups agreed.
They enter a nice-looking restaurant and get a table. Just then, a beautiful blonde waitress approached their table.
Cuphead gave a wolf-whistle. The other glared at him.
"Cuphead! That was rude!" Gwen scolded.
"It's alright miss. I attract attention." The waitress assured her.
"I apologize for my friend. He never thinks before he acts." Gwen apologized.
"It's alright ma'am. My name's Regina Summerbell. I'll be your server tonight. Can I start you off with something to drink?" Regina introduced herself professionally.
"We'll get 3 root beers and 2 margheritas." Clarence said.
"Excellent choices." Regina said, writing their orders down.
"Cool name." Mugman complimented.
"Thank you." Regina thanked.
Regina walks off to get their drinks.
"She seemed nice." Mugman said.
"Yeah." Ms. Chalice agreed.
They noticed Regina grabbing their drinks while other men wolf-whistled at her. She sighed sadly as she returned to their table.
"Here are your drinks." Regina said with a big smile.
She handed each person and cup a drink.
"You, okay Regina? You don't look comfortable." Gwen asked, concerned.
"Oh, it's nothing. Just getting by everyday while my dad works on that dam." Regina calmly denied.
"Oh, we were just over there looking at it." Clarence said.
"Your father works there?" Mugman asked.
"Yes. My dad was lucky to be alive. It cost a ton of lives building that stupid water wall." Regina said sadly.
"I'm so sorry you're going through that. You and your dad." Gwen said, showing sympathy.
"I appreciate your sympathy, I really do. But we get by day by day." Regina said.
"What's your dream?" Gwen asked.
Regina looked at Gwen with confusion. But after hesitating, she decided to trust her.
"Well, I hope one day, a talent manager will discover me, and I'd move my dad and me to Hollywood, and I'll be a movie star. I can sing, I can dance and act." Regina confessed.
Regina demonstrates by tap-dancing to jazz music playing in the background.
"Impressive." Ms. Chalice complimented.
"Thanks kid." Regina thanked.
"But there was one thing missing." Ms. Chalice said.
"What do you mean?" Regina asked.
Ms. Chalice walked up to her.
"Now, I ain't bein' mean. I ain't criticizing ya. You just need to add one special thing to your act." Ms. Chalice said, being nice.
"What's that?" Regina asked.
"You gotta slap on a smile, throw in some pep! And be sure to put a spring in your step. 'Cause you can get anything by turnin' up the charm!" Ms. Chalice sang her song.
"Here she goes again." Gwen said under her breath.
Ms. Chalice sang her song as Regina paid attention and took her advice. After singing the finishing note, Ms. Chalice sat back down in her chair.
"Wow, just turn up the charm." Regina said amazed.
"That's right sister." Ms. Chalice answered and winked.
"I'll keep that in mind." Regina said.
Just then, Regina remembered she had a job to do.
"Anyway, you all ready to order?" Regina asked.
"Yes, we are." Clarence said.
They placed their orders as Regina wrote them down. She walked away and handed the order to the chef. Just then, the restaurant manager called Regina to his office.
After 20 minutes, 2 waiters came with platters of food and placed each plate to the person and cup.
"Wait, where's Regina?" Cuphead asked.
"Oh um…" The server hesitated to answer.
"She just got fired." The other server revealed.
"What?! What for?" Gwen asked shockingly.
"Uh… the boss decided she was too distracting to our male customers, so he let her go." The first server revealed.
"But she did nothing wrong! She wasn't trying to get anyone's attention!" Mugman protested.
"Hey, it wasn't our decision." The other server said defensively.
They both quickly left.
"Poor Regina." Ms. Chalice said sadly as she started eating her steak.
Just then, they notice Regina walking sadly out of the manager's office with tears streaking down her face. Feeling bad, Gwen walked up to Regina.
"Hey, are you okay?" Gwen asked.
Regina sighed sadly.
"No. They think I'm a distraction. So, they let me go." Regina answered.
"Here, why don't you join us now that you don't work here anymore." Gwen offered.
"That's really nice of you. Nobody's ever shown me kindness before." Regina thanked.
Clarence pulled an extra chair, and Gwen had her sit down with them. Gwen orders an extra meal and drink for Regina.
"You really didn't have to do that." Regina said.
"You were kind to us. So, I'm returning the favor." Gwen said.
"Anyway, what will you do when you go home?" Clarence asked.
"I dunno. I'll have to find another job. I'll go around Las Vegas job hunting." Regina answered.
While the humans were chatting, Cuphead gets the idea of sneaking off to a casino to win a fortune. He spots Gwen's purse and quietly takes her enchanted wallet.
"Hopefully she won't mind if I borrowed this." Cuphead quietly said to himself.
Cuphead sat back in his chair and acted normal as he hid the enchanted wallet in his pocket.
"Oh, Gwen! I gotta use the restroom!" Cuphead lied.
"Okay." Gwen said.
Cuphead gets up and leaves the table. Mugman and Ms. Chalice both get suspicious of Cuphead's behavior as they noticed Cuphead leaving the restaurant.
"He's up to something." Mugman said.
"We better follow him." Ms. Chalice said.
They both leave the table and follow Cuphead outside. They spot him entering the Golden Gate Casino.
"Oh no." Both Mugman and Ms. Chalice said worryingly.
They both entered the casino and noticed Cuphead eying the gambling tables. He attempts to go in when he is suddenly stopped.
"Cuphead!" Both cups yelled.
Cuphead realized he was busted.
"Oh, hey you two. What are you doing here?" Cuphead asked nervously.
"We should ask you that." Ms. Chalice said folding her arms.
"What are you thinking dumdum?! You know Gwen said, 'no gambling'!" Mugman scolded.
"Aw come on fellas, it'll be just a few games and earn some quick money. Tell ya what. I'll give you each a third of the winnings if you help me." Cuphead proposed.
"We can't gamble. They don't allow anyone under 21 to play." Mugman reminded him.
"Good point." Cuphead said looking around.
"Right. Now, let's get back before we get in trouble." Mugman said.
"I got it!" Cuphead said, getting an idea.
He goes up to a coat rack and takes a trench coat and a hat.
"Cuphead, what are you doing?" Ms. Chalice asked.
"We'll wear a disguise! And this'll be a good time to try out the fake mustache I bought a while ago." Cuphead said, pulling out a fake mustache.
"Wait a minute, what are you gonna use for money?" Ms. Chalice asked.
Cuphead held up Gwen's enchanted wallet, making them both gasp.
"Cuphead! What were you thinking?! Gwen's gonna kill you for stealing her wallet!" Mugman scolded.
"A few bucks won't hurt." Cuphead said as he put on the fake mustache and hat.
Cuphead gets on a chair and stood up.
"Mugsy, come here." Cuphead said.
Mugman grumbled and walked over.
"Chalice, hop on Mugman's shoulders." Cuphead instructed.
Ms. Chalice groaned as she got up on Mugman shoulders.
"Perfect!" Cuphead said.
He quickly hopped on Ms. Chalice's shoulders, wrapped the trench coat around them, making them look like a tall adult.
"Perfect! Now, start walking left Mugsy!" Cuphead instructed.
"This is stupid! We're gonna get caught!" Mugman protested.
"Start walkin' Mugsy!" Cuphead impatiently instructed.
Mugman groaned as he started walking. He peeked out the coat to see where he was going.
"Over there! To the roulette!" Cuphead instructed.
Mugman walked over to the roulette table where humans were gambling.
"How much do you bet?" The dealer asked Cuphead, giving him an odd look.
"Uh, I'll start with five bucks." Cuphead said in a low voice.
He reached into Gwen's enchanted wallet, only to find a five-dollar-bill to appear, to Cuphead's shock. Cuphead takes the bill and pays it with chips. He bets on the number 11 and the roulette is spun. To everyone's shock, the ball lands on 11, thus winning.
"Whoo! I won!" Cuphead cheered.
Cuphead reached in the enchanted wallet for another five-dollar-bill.
"What the? Money just magically appears in this wallet? Why didn't Gwen ever tell us?!" Cuphead asked shockingly after discovering the wallet's power.
With that discovery, he decided to take advantage of it.
Within no time, Cuphead kept using the enchanted wallet to make bets on most of the gambling tables and wins a ton of money.
The cups go back to the bathroom and remove their disguise and slip quietly back to the lobby to avoid suspicion.
"Whoo! We're rich guys! And Gwen's cool wallet gives you endless amounts of money!" Cuphead cheered.
"Cuphead, she's gonna be furious with you for stealing her wallet." Mugman warned.
"Eh, I ain't too worried about it. I wonder why she never told us about this wallet." Cuphead said.
"I'm sure she had her reasons." Ms. Chalice said nervously.
"Relax guys, we'll split our winnings, sneak back to the restaurant and slip her wallet back before she even has time to notice." Cuphead said, laying out his plan.
"I dunno about this." Mugman said nervously.
Just then, the trio are approached by a shady-looking businessman.
"Quite a huge winning you made there kid." The businessman said.
"What? We didn't gamble. We ain't old enough." Cuphead denied.
"I know. Don't worry, your secret's safe with me." The businessman assured him.
"What do you want mister?" Ms. Chalice asked suspiciously.
"I'm here with a proposition for you three." The businessman answered.
"What is it?" Cuphead asked.
"I'd like to offer you the opportunity to win all the money you could ever want." The businessman answered.
"No thanks…" Mugman declined until Cuphead cut him off.
"We'll do it! We'll do it!" Cuphead answered eagerly.
"Then follow me." The businessman said.
He opens a secret door behind a mirror in the lobby.
"Woah!" All 3 cups exclaimed.
They followed the businessman downstairs, and he opens another secret door.
Suddenly, bright lights of fancier game tables and slot machines filled up the room, making the cup's jaws drop.
"Wow! What is this?" Cuphead asked awestruck.
"This is my personal private underground casino. Where you could win all the money you could ever want. So, what do you say?" The businessman explained and asked.
"I'm in!" Cuphead said excitedly and quickly went to the craps table and rolled a couple of dice and kept making bets with the enchanted wallet.
"Oh no." Both Mugman and Ms. Chalice said worryingly.
"You are worried for your friend?" The businessman asked.
"Yeah, he's really going too far with this." Mugman said, expressing concern.
"Did you try talking to him?" The businessman asked.
"We tried. Even our best friend made it clear with her 'no gambling' rule but he…" Ms. Chalice explained until the businessman cut her off.
"But he refused to listen and stole her wallet." The businessman finished.
"You're right. You're exactly right." Mugman confirmed.
Just then, Cuphead screamed as the enchanted wallet briefly turned black then back to normal.
"What's wrong?" Mugman asked.
"What's happening to your legs?!" Ms. Chalice asked, noticing something.
"What?!" Cuphead asked.
Cuphead noticed his lower half of his body being magically turned into horse legs and a tail.
"What the?! I'm turning into a horse!" Cuphead exclaimed panicking.
"Hippopodes to be exact." The businessman corrected him.
"Hippo- what?" Mugman asked.
The businessman gave an evil grin.
"Hippopodes, it means 'horse footed.' It is a creature that is often associated with greed. They were said to have guarded a fabulous treasure, but their insatiable greed made them unwilling to share it with anyone. This greed ultimately led to their downfall. The curse of the Hippopodes serves as a cautionary tale against the dangers of greed and avarice like what your friend has been doing." The businessman explained.
"That wallet cursed me from my greed and avarice?!" Cuphead asked fearfully as he tried to shake his feet that became hooves.
"That's right. And now that you have been cursed for your greed, it's time for you to pay the price." The businessman said evilly.
Without warning, the cups were suddenly trapped in cages.
"What are you gonna do to us?!" Mugman asked panicking.
"Oh, the black market has a very high price for children with cups for heads." The businessman revealed.
Both Ms. Chalice and Mugman glared at Cuphead.
"This is all your fault! You just had to steal Gwen's wallet just so you could go gamble!" Mugman yelled angrily.
"Heh heh…" Cuphead chuckled nervously.
"Maybe she did have a good reason she didn't tell us her wallet was magic!" Ms. Chalice added.
"All of this could've been prevented if your friend here didn't get greedy and betray his friend by stealing from her." The businessman said tauntingly.
"Wait a minute, how do you know that?!" Ms. Chalice asked.
"I have my ways." The businessman said.
Just then…
BAM!
The door blasted open, and Gwen, Clarence and Regina rushed in, ready for a fight.
"I was right! That was the secret door I remember seeing before in this casino!" Regina confirmed.
"Thanks for the tip." Clarence thanked.
Gwen furiously pointed her ink pen at the businessman.
"Release my friends or else!" Gwen demanded.
"Relax Gosa, they're unharmed." The businessman assured her, calling her by her goddess name.
"Wait a minute, how did you…?" Gwen was about to ask.
Suddenly, the businessman magically transformed into a fellow older god.
"Oh, my goodness! It's you Hades!" Gwen exclaimed shockingly.
"Hades? As in the god of the dead?" Clarence asked.
"And riches too. Everybody forgets that part." Hades added with annoyance in his tone.
"Wow. A real god." Regina said in awe.
"Anyway, Hades what is the meaning of this? Why did you lure them here?" Gwen asked.
"Gosa, it came to my attention that the enchanted wallet I gave you for Christmas was being abused. So, I came here but I realized it was your cup friend who stole it and was using it to gamble for a lot of money. So, I lured them here to teach them a big lesson on greed and avarice. The enchanted wallet cursed your friend from his greed and avarice by making him a Hippopodes." Hades explained.
"What?!" Gwen asked shockingly.
Gwen grew furious and glared at Cuphead and noticed the horse half of his body.
"Cuphead! How could you do this to me?! I trusted you!" Gwen angrily yelled.
"I'm sorry Gwen! I didn't think it would turn into such a big deal!" Cuphead apologized.
"Why did you lie and steal from me?! Did you think I was stupid that I wouldn't figure it out?!" Gwen furiously asked.
"Honey, calm down. Don't overreact." Clarence said, calming his fiancée.
"I was gonna give it back!" Cuphead protested.
"That doesn't give you the right to take her things without asking!" Clarence angrily backed her up.
Cuphead took the enchanted wallet out of his pocket and handed it to Gwen. She angrily swiped it back from him as he was unable to look into her raging eyes.
After thinking, Gwen hands the wallet to Hades.
"What are you doing Gosa?" Hades asked confused.
"My lord, I don't deserve this after what just happened." Gwen said, offering to surrender her enchanted wallet.
Hades pushed the wallet back to her.
"Let me ask you a couple of questions Gosa. Were you the one who abused its power?" Hades asked.
"No." Gwen answered.
"Were you the one who the enchanted wallet cursed for greed and avarice?" Hades asked.
"No." Gwen answered.
"Then there is no need to give this back to me. You just need to keep a better close watch on it, so it never happens again. Besides, you have rightfully earned this wallet. I've seen what you use it for, and I am pleased you use it to help others in need." Hades said, commending her for what she used the wallet for.
"Really?" Gwen asked.
"Yes, really." Hades answered.
He snapped his fingers, opening the cages, releasing the cups.
Mugman and Ms. Chalice hugged Gwen tearfully.
"We're so sorry Gwen!" Mugman apologized.
"We should've told you immediately Cuphead was up to something!" Ms. Chalice added.
Gwen looked at her two best friends, seeing the shame in their faces.
"Guys, it's true you should've told me but let this be a lesson to you two. If you see Cuphead sneaking off or acting suspicious again, you will tell me right away. Understand?" Gwen stated her conditions.
"We promise." Both Mugman and Ms. Chalice promised.
Gwen looked at a guilty Cuphead.
"As for you Cuphead, let me make something perfectly clear. If you ever steal anything from me again, our friendship is over!" Gwen threatened.
"But… we're brothers and sister." Cuphead said sadly with tears welling up.
After thinking of the good times, they had together, Cuphead really started to regret his actions. Cuphead knelt at Gwen and held her dress.
"I feel like such a numbskull! I ruined our friendship! I know it's your personal stuff. I promise to respect that. Please forgive me Gweny! Please!" Cuphead begged as he buried his head into her dress crying.
Gwen was unsure if she was ready to forgive him, but she saw the sincerity in his tone. Gwen looked at her friends and fiancé. Clarence comes up to her.
"Honey, you don't have to forgive him right away not for his sake, but for yours. But let him prove to you he really is sorry and let him rebuild your trust and earn your forgiveness." Clarence advised.
Gwen sighed as Regina walked up to her.
"He's right Gwen. Actions speak louder than words. Saying 'I'm sorry' isn't always enough." Regina added.
Gwen sighed, knowing they were right. Cuphead will have to show her he is sorry. She looked down at a weeping Cuphead.
"Cuphead." Gwen said.
But Cuphead continued crying.
"Cuphead! Stop crying!" Gwen lightly scolded.
Cuphead lifted his head and wiped his tear-stained porcelain face as she sighed.
"Alright. I'll give you another chance." Gwen reluctantly said.
Cuphead quickly hugged Gwen.
"Oh, thank you Gweny! Thank you!" Cuphead said happily.
"But…" Gwen continued.
Cuphead looked at her as she gave him a serious look.
"On three conditions." Gwen said.
"Which is…?" Cuphead asked nervously.
"One: You will never touch any of my personal belongings again. Two: You will never go gambling again ever. Three: If you really wanna earn back my trust and my forgiveness, you're going to do something for me. You're not getting off easy." Gwen said with seriousness in her tone.
Cuphead gulped.
"But first…" Gwen said as she faced Hades.
"Sir, how do I break the curse on Cuphead?" Gwen asked.
"Oh, don't worry. The curse will wear off when his greed and avarice fades. It could be a day or a week. Who knows? That'll depend on him." Hades explained.
"Okay then." Gwen said.
Gwen turned to Regina and hugged her.
"Thank you for all your help." Gwen thanked.
"Nah. I was just returning the favor after you helped me." Regina said.
"And I'm sorry you had to see all that drama." Gwen apologized.
"I've seen worse. It's pretty cool you're magic and powerful." Regina said.
"Not as cool as you dancing and singing. You really have talent." Gwen said.
"Thanks." Regina thanked.
"Alright, I think we all learned a valuable lesson here tonight so let's head home." Clarence suggested.
"Good idea." Mugman agreed.
"Note to us: never do this again." Ms. Chalice said.
"Agreed." Cuphead said sadly.
"Don't worry about your new friend. I'll get her home safely. I believe she will keep our existence and the knowledge of magic a secret like all your other friends you've chosen carefully." Hades said.
"You have my word sir." Regina promised and bowed.
"Thank you, sir." Gwen thanked.
"I better get home too. My wife's gonna be leaving the underworld soon for spring." Hades said.
He nodded as Gwen teleported themselves back to Heaven. Regina is magically whisked back to her run-down home where her father was waiting for her.
In Heaven, Gwen gets the cup's attention.
"So, everyone go to bed. I'll decide Cuphead's punishment in the morning." Gwen instructed.
Cuphead sighed sadly as they all retreated to their bedrooms for the night. Gwen sat on her throne as held her head in her hands, exhausted from being angry. Clarence squeezed into her throne next to her.
"Love, it'll be okay." Clarence assured her as he held her face.
"I know Cuphead's made a lot of stupid mistakes, but I never thought he'd stoop this low." Gwen said.
"What he did was really stupid, you're right. But then again, haven't we all made stupid mistakes sometime in our lives?" Clarence asked, proving a point.
Gwen thought for a moment and remembered her share of bad mistakes in her past.
"Yeah, I really screwed up lots of times in my childhood. Even in the Inkwell Isles. Getting in trouble at school, at home and with some teachers and classmates who never liked me. I even got in trouble with Porkrind a few times." Gwen admitted.
Then Gwen realized something.
"Oh, I'll never forget all the times those cups got into all kinds of trouble. Even Chalice." Gwen said.
"Oh yeah. With all those stories you told me and what we went through. Heck, even I made some dumb choices before I met you. Stealing what I needed to survive on the streets, trusting the wrong people and such." Clarence said.
Gwen smiled at him and gave him a kiss.
"This is why I have you." Gwen said.
Just then, the lead servant approached them.
"Forgive me for interrupting milady, but I do have a recommendation for Cuphead's punishment and will help with removing the curse." The lead servant said.
Both human and goddess looked at each other.
"What do you have in mind?" Gwen asked.
The next morning after breakfast Gwen sat on her throne and called for Cuphead.
"Cuphead, I've made a decision on your punishment. You're going to be working with the servants for a week." Gwen declared.
"What?!" Cuphead asked shockingly.
"That means until then, your privileges with all the fun chambers are revoked." Gwen explained.
"Come Cuphead. We have work to do in the kitchen." The lead servant instructed as she handed him a broom.
Cuphead sighed, knowing it was the only way to earn Gwen's forgiveness.
After they leave to start their duties, Gwen remembered something and walked up to her reflecting pool, and it revealed Regina at her house with her father. Gwen raised her ink pen.
"You did me a kindness my friend. Therefore, I will grant you your wish." Gwen words echoed.
Back in Las Vegas, Regina heard Gwen's words in her head.
"Gwen?" Regina asked looking around.
"Who's Gwen?" Her father asked.
"Oh, a new friend I made last night." Regina answered.
Just then, a knock was heard. Regina goes to the door and opens it. She noticed a nice-dressed gentleman outside their door.
"Good morning, sir. May I help you?" Regina asked politely.
"Good morning, ma'am. Are you perchance Regina Summerbell?" The gentleman asked.
"Yes, I am." Regina confirmed.
"Allow me to introduce myself. I am Victor Kinkade. Talent agent. I have been informed of your dazzling dancing, voice of an angel and your goddess-like beauty." Victor revealed.
"Really?" Regina asked.
"I can get you a ton more work in Hollywood in you sign with my agency." Victor offered.
"Really? You mean it?" Regina asked.
"Cross my heart." Victor answered.
"I accept!" Regina answered excitedly.
Victor hands him a business card with his contact information.
"This is it daddy! I'm going in showbiz!" Regina announced to her father.
"I'm so proud of you, my angel." Mr. Summerbell said as he gave her a hug.
"With that money, we'll be out of poverty and have better lives!" Regina said.
"Then let's start packing. It's California or bust." Mr. Summerbell said.
They both start packing for Hollywood as Regina looked up at the sky.
"Thank you, Gwen. You're a real friend." Regina said.
Back in Heaven, Gwen smiled at Regina in the reflecting pool.
"You're welcome, new friend." Gwen said.
She leaves to go about her day with college homework and continue learning how to be a god. Cuphead puts up with working with the servants to make up for his mistake. Within a few days, Cuphead's lower half of his body started reverting to its normal form. After the week was finished, Cuphead's curse was lifted, and his privileges were given back after learning a valuable lesson about breaking a friend's trust.
Regina was making her debut in Hollywood as was given her first movie project. With her new career off to a great start, she and her father found a better place to live and were living much better lives than before.
