9. Chapter U - story update

Hey everyone, bit of an update on what's going on with this fic.

So as you've probably noticed, I haven't really added any chapters throughout the past few months, and there's a few reasons for this. The first is that I simply haven't had the motivation. This something I've been struggling with for as long as I've been writing, so it's nothing new, but still kind of annoying. A second reason is that I've been focussing more on my other hobby, which is stop motion creation. If you know stop motion, you'll know it is a time consuming process, so I've been busy with that as well.

And the third and most important reason is that I'm not really happy with how I've been writing this story. I initially started writing this with the intention of making it a story following Ronin as the main character, but as I've been working on it, I've realised this is just as much Akiris's story. I've got big plans for her in the future of this story, but it doesn't really work with how I introduced her over the first couple chapters.

I've recently read some interesting star wars stories over at AO3, and watched some really good non-star wars tv shows as well, which have given me a lot of inspiration on what I'm going to do with the story. Unfortunately a lot of that doesn't work with the story as it currently is.

So basically, I've decided I'm going to rewrite the story as it currently is. Ronin and Akiris are both my favorite fictional characters I've ever come up with, and I want to give them the best story they deserve.

It'll probably be a while until the rewritten version starts being published. I haven't quite decided if I want to continue publishing as I write, like I've been doing, or if I'm gonna write the full story before I start publishing it. And of course I'm also working on my stop motion projects, which generally take priority, so my writing pace will continue to be pretty slow as it is.
