Daughter of the Black Flight: Chapter Twenty-two

~Chapter Start~

~Landslide Zone~

Todoroki Shoto found it hard to keep a straight face. When the class had fallen into the misty portal he'd expected to be fighting for his life. Instead, he was trying not to laugh.

"Get. Out. Of. My. Way," Ochaco growled as she held a boulder above her head. Shoto now truly wished he had brought his phone with him. He knew his brother could meme the heck out of Uraraka scaring villains.

"This is about the opposite of what I thought was going to happen," Conrad said watching Ochaco march towards the now fleeing villains.

"Well, they shouldn't have taken Uraraka from her bae," Toru said giggling lightly from Shoto's other side.

"Why is she so scary!" a villain cried running from Ochaco as her speed started picking up.

"Just run!" another villain cried.

"You better!" Ochaco screamed as she loosed her boulder.

"It's like the best part of Indiana Jones," Toru laughed.

"Part of what?" Conrad asked.

"It's a really old movie. Ignore me," Toru replied still laughing.

"We should probably stop her before she kills them," Conrad said seeing Ochaco lift another boulder.

"Good idea," Toru said as they moved to catch up with Ochaco.

Izumi was going to be sick. Jirakka's body fell from her mouth dropping to the ground with a solid thud. It was taking all of her willpower not to vomit. "Magnificent!" Tomura shouted throwing his arms wide. "You are truly magnificent!"

"SHRRRK!" Tomura's eyes drifted to the left seeing All Might still fighting Chimaeron. The beast was doing its job well.

"Tomura perhaps-," Kurogiri spoke.

"Not yet," Tomura snaps. "I want to talk with her," he added.

"Very well," Kurogiri said stepping forward.

"I won't let you," Shota said stepping in front of the two. Kurogiri took another step forward moving in front of Tomura.

"No I'll handle him," Tomura said stepping in front of Kurogiri. "After all I hadn't finished my match yet," A grin cracked over Tomura's face before he shot forward.

~Squall Zone~

Mina was pissed. Of all the areas she could've ended up it had to be one of two areas where her acid was basically useless. The heavy rain made it so she couldn't throw her acid. Even if she could the rain deluded it faster than she could make it. So here she stood with nothing but her fists and agility to save her. And to be fair, she was doing decent. She'd managed to knock out five villains so far.

With her back to a wall, she peeked around a corner. She was starting to get exhausted. 'Please no villains,' She thought.

"Dark Shadow!" A familiar voice shouted.

"Shadow barrage!" Another familiar voice replied.

"Tokiyami! Dark Shadow!" Mina cheered happily as she ran up.

"Ashido It is good to see another friendly face," Fumikage said as the pinkette reached him.

"Cinnamon Girl," Dark Shadow called out happily as he floated over to her.

"Cinnamon Girl?" Fumikage asked.

"My shampoo is cinnamon-scented. I didn't know Dark Shadow could smell that's cool,"

"I sometimes forget he can," Fumikage added.

"So you guys manage to find any way out?" Mina asked.

"No, nor were we looking. We are on defense," Fumikage pointed back to a fake shop. "Upon arrival, Shoji landed poorly twisted his ankle, and was beset by villains. He will recover but cannot travel far. We've decided to set up a base and hold out until the end or help arrives,"

"He's alone in there?" Mina asked.

"The tailed one is protecting him," Dark Shadow replied.

"Let's get you inside and out of the rain," Fumikage said leading Mina to the shop.

~Central Plaza~

Shota was not doing well. Shigaraki's attacks had become faster and faster while he kept slowing down. Whatever quirk Shigaraki had it gave him way more endurance and energy. To top it all off Shota couldn't hold his eyes open much longer.

"Getting tired yet?" Tomura laughed as the hero and villain reached a stalemate. Eraser held one of Tomura's arms up, keeping him from attacking with it. Unfortunately, the same was said for his other arm. Tomura held his left forearm away, keeping Shota from striking.

"I won't stop until I beat you," Shota grunted.

"Sure you will," Tomura said before throwing his head forward. A sickening crack rang out as Shota's nose broke. The mixture of pain and blood forced his eyes shut. A near-fatal mistake. The second his quirk faded pain erupted in his arm.

Shota barely managed to open one eye and activate his quirk. The decay stopped but it was too late. His left arm had been removed at the elbow. Thankfully stopping Tomura's quirk saved the rest of his arm.

With a pained grunt, Shota fell to his knees. It was all over. The pain in his nose and arm kept forcing him to blink. He wouldn't be able to keep his quirk going. Tomura's next attack would be his end. But the attack didn't come. Instead, Tomura gave him a bow and a demented smile.

"Because you're just so damn cool. I'll let you live," A hard punch put Shota down.

With Eraserhead out of the way, nothing stood between him and his prize. Tomura turned to see she hadn't left the spot she was in since killing the waste of space. She just sat staring at the failure's corpse. That wouldn't do. He'd have to remove that pile of filth so her focus would be on him. A few more steps and his prize would be in his grasp.

"Get back!" Tomura jumped away as vines burst from the ground making a wall between him and his prize.

"Well well looks as if the calvary has arrived," Tomura laughed. A few trash mobs had gotten in his path. Oh well a little more xp never hurt.

A distorted pained cry rang out before cutting off. Tomura spun to see All Might standing on a decapitated Chimaeron. "It appears we are out of time," Kurogiri stated taking his place at Tomura's side.

A crash called everyone's attention to the roof. With a thunderous roar, Alexstrasza and Keristrasza tore through the roof. The two massive dragons landed in the plaza flanking All Might. As the dragons glared down at Tomura and Kurogiri an explosion erupted from the main gates.

"Kurogiri," Tomura stated. His eyes drifted up to the main gates where Endeavor now stood flanked by the professors of U.A.

"As you-" Kurogiri started before his eyes shifted to Eraserhead. A single eye shown red. "It seems we will have to wait a few moments,"

"He's just so cool. I guess we can entertain a bit more," Tomura spun to face the two dragons. "Greetings!" He called out. "I am Shigaraki Tomura leader of the League of Villains!" Just as he had done the first time he gave a flourished bow.

"Surrender," Alexstrasza commanded.

"You are surrounded," Endeavor growled as he reached the bottom of the stairs. His fire burned high as he stood in front of the students.

"Ohhh, I'm so scared," Tomura said skipping away from Kurogiri. He hopped from side to side as he felt his quirk bubble back to life as he left Eraserhead's sight.

"What do you think you can do?" Keristrasza asked.

"Why don't you try me and see?" Tomura laughed. Tomura smiled as she and Endeavor took the bait. Throwing his arms wide as a wall of fire barreled at him from two sides.

Everyone watched as Tomura was overtaken by flame. The twin gouts of fire collided and started to spin around Tomura. As the flames grew a silhouette appeared in the burning tornado. Far larger than Tomura.

All at once the fire was scattered, and a white-scaled dragon appeared. He nearly rivaled Nana's size as he reared up and let loose a deafening guttural roar. As the roar came to an end Tomura looked around seeing everyone had been left in shock. His form started to shrink as he let his power ebb away. A short few seconds later Tomura stood as a man once more. He saw Eraserhead's hair fall as the man fell into unconsciousness.

"Well, this has been wonderful. We will meet again one day. Fear for the League of Villains will always be watching from the shadows," Tomura announced with a final flourished bow. He spun as a portal opened beneath him. Izumi and Tomura's eyes met. "Farewell, my prize. I WILL claim you another day," And with that, he and Kurogiri were gone.

~A few hours later~

Izumi sat with a warm blanket draped over her as she gave her story. She shook slowly as she reached the moment she feared. Her words spilled out as she explained how she had killed Jirakka. To her surprise, she wasn't arrested. Hell, she wasn't even chastised for it.

"Before you start to beat yourself up about it too much," Alexstrasza spoke getting Izumi's attention. She knelt before Izumi taking the younger woman's hands into her own. "He was a villain hell-bent on killing you. If given the chance he would've killed you or anyone else in that building. It wasn't just self-defense you protected the others by taking the burden of his life onto yourself,"

"B... But heroes shouldn't kill," Izumi said as tears filled her eyes. "How am I any different than them now?" She wailed. Alex pulled the broken woman into her arms letting her cry.

"Shhhhh," She gently ran her hand through Izumi's hair. "It's ok. Let it all out," Her eyes looked over to the detective. "Bring Uraraka," she spoke as softly as she could. The detective nodded and slipped out.

"Hey now," Alex spoke pulling Izumi back so they looked at each other. "You are so much better than them. They kill because they want to. They kill because they enjoy it. They kill because they see other's pain as comedy. You killed him because he wasn't going to stop,"

"Izumi!" Ochaco burst into the tent.

"Ocha!" Izumi cried seeing the brunette rush in. Alex smiled as Izumi tore out of her arms and nearly jumped into Ochaco's.

"Stay here. We'll send Recovery Girl over in a bit to check her," Alex stated before leaving the couple alone. She was pretty sure they didn't hear her but she was also sure they weren't going anywhere.

"I was so scared," Ochaco cried as they hugged. "I thought I was going to lose you,"

"Ocha," Izumi sobbed hugging Ochaco with all her might. "I love you. I love you so much,"

"I love you too," Ochaco replied hugging Izumi just as tightly. The two hugged for several long minutes before pulling apart. Izumi shook slightly unable to meet Ochaco's eyes.

"I... I... I killed him," Izumi said softly.

"Izumi," Ochaco spoke softly. She couldn't imagine the pain Izumi was feeling at this moment. How could she? She hadn't had to kill someone. "Hey look at me," Izumi struggled but slowly met her eyes. "I'm not going to try and say I understand that pain or that you shouldn't let it get to you. You're too good for it not too. Instead, I will reaffirm some things,"

"What?" Izumi asked softly.

"Daiki loves you," Ochaco says kissing Izumi's cheek. "Eri already loves you," she kisses her other cheek. "Nana and Alexstrasza love you," She kisses Izumi's forehead. "And I love you," She let Izumi lean in before kissing. Izumi's arms wrap around her neck. Her body presses hard against her as tears fall anew.

The two separate after a long kiss. "I want to go home," Izumi whines. "I wanna see my babies,"

"You can leave once I check you over," Recovery Girl says from outside the tent. "If it's ok to enter. If you two need more time it's ok,"

"No it's ok," Ochaco said knowing Izumi's desire to see Daiki and Eri would only get worse by the minute now that she had them on her mind.

~With Todoroki~

Shoto sat quietly as his father crouched to meet his eyes. "You are well?" Enji asked.

"Yes, the villains never attacked us. Uraraka-san snapped before they could launch their attack and chased them away with boulders," Shoto explained. Shoto couldn't stop the smirk when he heard his father snort.

"I feel like your brothers will want to hear that full story," Enji said straightening. "I'm glad you aren't hurt,"

"So am I," Shoto said before looking at his father. "Why were you here?"

"Oh," Enji started then stopped. "Your sister had an interview for a job at U.A. I was dropping her off since she missed her train. I was just arriving when the alarm was raised,"

"Fuyumi might be working at U.A.?" Shoto asked.

"She had... has? an interview for a T.A. job to help her get her master's," Enji answered.

"Wonder what class she'd T.A. for," Shoto wondered as a black car pulled up.

"You can ask her when we get back," Enji stated.

~Seedy Bar~

Tomura laughed as he sat back on a bar stool. He laughed loud and long. Sure Chimaeron and Jirakka were dead but he could care less about them. The look on the faces of the heroes when he showed them his dragon form had been priceless.

"It went well?" All For One asked from a booth.

"Yes and no," Tomura replied. "Chimaeron and that useless drake are dead and the Nomu is who knows where,"

"Yet you laugh?" All For One asks.

"I left them all in shock. They weren't ready to see Me," Tomura laughed more. "And my prize knows I'm coming for her,"

"I see," All For One said standing. "Rest up and we'll start planning the next phase,"

"Yes sensei," Tomura nodded and left for his room. Sleep did sound nice.

~Midoriya Apartment~

Night had come and Izumi and Ochaco had returned home. They had been promptly tackled by the kids. After several minutes of tears and lots of hugs, the four had supper and went to bed early. It had been an exhausting day.

~End Notes~ Hope you all enjoyed the chapter.

A Note: Yes Endeavor is a good dad in this fic. At the moment I do plan on going into it later but I'll just say two things about it. No spouse/child abuse and their parents set up the marriage, not him. As far as I'm concerned if tons of writers can ignore/change Bakugo's actions on Izuku I can change Endeavor for this fic. Don't like it write your own.
