Chapter 47
Skarpnäck Stål
The Chestburster makes another strong movement and the soft skin on Michael's chest is squeezed out by the snake-like form. It seems as if the Chestburster is impatient and wants to be born soon. Michael looks out towards the tempting light and heat of the melting pot. Soon it will be time for him to jump into the melting pot but there are a few things he is thinking about.
- Sven, I have a few questions. To start with. In the three Alien films, there is a company that wants to get hold of the Alien monsters. Do you think there is any real company that would have wanted to do that, here in Stockholm?
- Nah, I find that very hard to believe. Those who hunt the monsters want to see them die, not be examined but just killed.
- Okay. Now for the next question. If one of the reporters had come here and interviewed you and me, would it have been wrong to mention that I have a mild Autism Spectrum Condition? I mean, that can certainly affect my decisions and such.
- People in general would probably have thought that you had tried to blame on your disability and that would have made many people angry. Even if you have a disability, you still have a responsibility, you can't joke about that. You made a conscious choice when you placed the eggs in Kungsträdgården and you knew what would happen.
- Have they shown it on TV again?
- Both SVT and BBC and NBC have shown it. Those watching from abroad have no idea who you are, although there is of course speculation about who you are.
- So, I'm a bit of a TV star then?
- No star, just seen and hated.
- Mmm. Does no one know that I made sure that PredAlien and the Alien queen were fought? That should change things.
- Unfortunately, no one but you and I knows about it.
- You can tell them when I'm dead.
- I'd rather not talk about you on TV, even though I understand how you think. You wouldn't have become a hero in their eyes anyway. Sometimes it's better not to talk about things you know.
- Do you think the underground tunnel will be closed?
- Probably. The city's defenses will probably first burn up every molecule from the Alien monsters and when that's done, they'll close the tunnel.
- Then you have to hurry there to see what it looks like inside. Do it for me.
- We'll see.
- But why can't you promise me to do it?
- Okay, if it's still open, I promise to go there and take a look, but don't count on me looking for the Alien queen's old hive. I'm definitely not going to do that. Who knows, there might be more Alien eggs left there. I don't want to be attacked by some facehugger.
- You don't have to look for her hive. You can go wherever you want when you're in the tunnel. I just want you to visit it.
Michael is silent for a moment and he notices how incredibly heavy his body and chest feel and he didn't think the Chestburster would affect him this way but it does. Michael gets up from his chair and starts walking towards the edge of the floor and he has the hot melting pot behind him. Michael has difficulty raising his shoes above the metal floor and it looks as if he is dragging himself forward across the floor at short intervals. Michael is so tired and he wishes it would all end.
Michael is standing at the far end of the floor and the intense heat from the melting pot stings his back. Michael looks over at Sven and nods at him.
- Well, then it's time. There's not much more to say. If I meet Edith in heaven, I'm going to say hello to her and tell her that you miss her. Hopefully, I'll meet my parents and Krister in heaven too. You don't have to cry. Sven, thank you for letting me know you and be your friend. You've meant so much in my life. Goodbye Sven. Hopefully, we'll meet again when you're dead.
Michael closes his eyes and lets himself fall backwards and his body moves down towards the hot melting pot. Sven stands up on unsteady legs and walks forward and watches as Michael's body flies through the air and is on its way down towards the melting pot. There is something beautiful and sad about what Sven sees. The Chestburster senses the enormous heat and that Michael's body is in rapid motion and it explodes out of Michael's chest. Michael uses his very last strength and takes a firm grip on the Chestburster and makes sure it cannot escape. Sven sees that this Chestburster looks a little different compared to the others and he realizes that it could be a future Alien queen. The Chestburster screams shrilly as it moves down towards the melting pot but Michael is completely silent. Both Michael and the Chestburster drown in the incredibly hot steel and soon they are no longer visible but several small bubbles form above the liquid steel.
Sven can't bear to see what's happening and starts to cry and walks away from the edge where Michael was just standing. There's nothing more to do. It's all over. Sven feels no gratitude that Michael died. Everything is so tragic. Sven turns to the edge one last time before he walks towards the elevator and goes down to the ground level. Sven feels completely empty inside and has his head bowed to avoid the workers' gaze. All the workers are silent. They have heard a large part of Sven and Michael's conversation.
Sven leaves Skarpnäck Stål and gets in his car and sits there for a while. But then he drives towards Refaberget and once he gets there he goes for a long walk and thinks about everything that has happened. Sven thinks he should call Michael's residence and tell them what has happened but he chooses not to.
Hammarby
The soldiers from the first helicopter have driven Morgan's car out of the bathhouse and it is standing in the parking lot and being examined by some police officers. Four soldiers are inside the bathhouse and they have flamethrowers and are setting fire to every Alien egg they can see. Most of the eggs are in the smaller pool and are easy to find, but a large part of the Alien queen's body is lying across some eggs and she needs to be transported away as soon as possible.
The PredAlien's body has been lifted out of the pool and is now outside the bathhouse. Three soldiers helped carry the monster's body out. Not all soldiers know what kind of creature the PredAlien is. They have only been ordered to take it out of the bathhouse and set fire to the body after they have taken several photographs of the body and the police have examined it. The PredAlien's body is not particularly heavy despite its size. Several police officers are taking photographs from different angles and they are also measuring how big the monster is.
The second helicopter is still flying over the scene and filming what is happening. The footage is shown both in Sweden on SVT but also in the USA and England and then it is shown on BBC and NBC, among others. Other foreign news channels have also started to show interest in this. People abroad are starting to wonder what is happening in Sweden. Some of them have seen Marys live and have heard about the news from there.
A larger machine arrives at the scene and the first helicopter has to lift off so that the machine can fit. The machine has several long bendable metal arms with several flaps and is controlled by a man sitting inside the machine. The machine is supposed to pull the Alien Queen out of the bathhouse so that the entire area inside can be cleaned and every egg destroyed. The machine penetrates four long arms through the broken panoramic window and they move towards the Alien Queen. Each arm has a flap and it can be used to ensure that the body part that the arm is holding is held firmly.
Actually, several soldiers and people from the defense could have retrieved the Alien Queen's body, but her body is heavy and above all unwieldy. In addition, they would have exposed themselves to the eggs when the Alien Queen was no longer on them and none of the soldiers or the others who are helping want to be attacked by a facehugger. It feels much safer to use this machine. The people keep their distance from the machine so that they are not close to it.
The first arm moves under the Alien Queen's crowned head and the flap tightens, meaning that the large crowned head cannot move a millimeter even though the other three arms are pulling on her body. There is a cracking and snapping sound as the flap holds the Alien Queen's crowned head in place, but there is no chance of the head breaking because it is made of a hard material. The second arm moves towards the Alien Queen's large feet and tail and the flap tightens so that the feet and tail can no longer move and spread out to the sides. The third arm approaches the top of the Alien Queen's ribbed chest and the arm is extended so that it can hold the upper part of the body. The flap closes tightly and the operator can now start pulling out the Alien Queen's body, but he wants to use an extra arm just in case. The fourth arm moves towards the bottom of the Alien Queen's ribbed chest and also the open stomach. It gets a little more difficult when the flap is to be closed but in the end the arm has a good grip there too.
Since the upper part of the Alien Queen's large body is in the pool, the first two arms must be pulled both upwards and forwards so that the body can move. The person operating the machine raises the first two arms and he looks at the machine's display when the upper part of the Alien Queen's body rises and this means that his plan has succeeded. Soon the entire body of the Alien Queen is high enough up and the arms begin to pull the body towards the broken panoramic window. The Alien Queen's body is so tightly gripped by the four arms that it follows every movement and slowly but surely it begins to approach the broken panoramic window. The eggs in the smaller pool are now fully exposed but they do not react to the arms or the machine because they are dead things. There are about 17 Alien eggs in the smaller pool. The person operating the machine is patient and ensures that the Alien Queen's large body moves slowly across the tiled white floor. A little yellow blood spurts out from the Alien Queen's wounded stomach and smoke forms as the acid corrodes the tiled floor. The Alien Queen's large, clumsy body gets closer and closer to the exit and all the soldiers are tense and happy at the same time.
The two helicopters in the air film every detail and many people sit at their TV sets and follow what is happening. Both the Prime Minister and his assistants are watching what is happening and they think that the military is doing a very good job. The TV viewers can also see the PredAlien's dead body but no one is filming it right now; everyone is focused on what is happening in the bathhouse.
The four arms continue to pull on the Alien Queen's large body and it is her large crowned head that comes out first. One of the arms happens to destroy part of the broken panoramic window but since it is to be replaced, it does not matter. More of the Alien Queen's body begins to be visible outside the bathhouse and the black, hard skin shines in the sunlight. Soon the Alien Queen's body is half out and the rest of it is on its way out. The Alien Queen's body is already taking up a lot of space and the police are starting to block off so that no unauthorized person can approach the large body. This is about people's safety but also to make sure that no one can access and take any fluid or body part from the Alien Queen that can be used and make a new monster. The police can see that part of the Alien Queen's black spine-like tail is sawn off but they found the sawn off tail in the car that was inside the bathhouse. The sawn off tail will of course be destroyed so that no one can get any DNA from there.
Now the Alien Queen's large body is finally completely out of the bathhouse and one of the pilots in the helicopters whistles when he sees how incredibly big and tall she is. The person who is operating the machine starts to loosen the flaps and the four arms because the Alien Queen's body no longer needs to be held down. The alien queen's large crowned head is bent at an unnatural angle but straightens up when the flap and long arm are removed from the head. The four long arms and flaps retract into the machine and the operator backs the entire machine away so that one helicopter can land again. The helicopter lands a little further away than before.
Several soldiers with powerful flamethrowers and heavy protective clothing enter the bathhouse and begin to burn up all the Alien eggs, as well as the broken egg sac. The large leathery eggs explode in a large sea of fire because they contain a lot of flammable fat and it is lucky that the soldiers are wearing protective clothing because some fully burning facehuggers jump around in the air but they only land on the tiled floor. When the flammable fat in the eggs has burned up, the fire quickly goes out. The eggs have changed color from dark brown to sooty black and they no longer look slimy. The soldiers push on some of the eggs to make sure that the facehuggers are not alive, but none of the eggs open and nothing moves inside them either. The soldiers report to their superiors that the danger is over and that the eggs are destroyed.
A man from the defense passes the barrel where MIchael was hiding and he looks down into the barrel and concludes that the barrel contains lots of drool from the Alien monsters. There is a half-high chair near the barrel and the man guesses that someone has crawled into the barrel and sat in all the drool, but he does not know the exact reason for it. It must have happened before the helicopter and the police arrived at the scene. The man overturns the barrel and all the thick Alien drool flows out onto the ground and some of it flows down a drain. The man takes the now empty barrel and places it against one wall of the bathhouse. The police will decide what to do with the barrel.
Some people from the defense and the military go up to the Alien Queen's large body and they inspect the large monster. All of the people are wearing thick gloves because they do not want to touch the Alien Queen's body with unprotected hands. Most of her black body is very sharp and it is easy to injure yourself on the long claws and other protruding sharp parts. In addition, no one knows whether the Alien Queen's body contains dangerous chemical or biological agents that can kill people. The Alien Queen's large black body is shiny with slime and drool, and some of the thick drool sticks to the rough gloves. Some of the soldiers can see that the Alien Queen's stomach looks like it has exploded from the inside, and they think it is very strange. But two soldiers suddenly come up with a plausible explanation. The PredAlien must have vomited its eggs into the Alien Queen's throat, and the PredAlien's offspring must have been born from the ruptured stomach. The soldiers accept this explanation for lack of any other reasonable explanation.
Some police officers approach the Alien Queen's body and take lots of photographs from different angles, carefully documenting how the Alien Queen lies on the ground. Some of the gathered people move away from the Alien Queen's body so that the police have better space to work. It has been decided that the Alien Queen's body will be destroyed, but it has not been decided where or how it will be done, and the police officers discuss different solutions to the problem. The Alien Queen's body is enormous and difficult to transport, but there is too high a risk of destroying the body where it is right now because the forest around the bathhouse could catch fire and that would not be good. Maybe it is possible to transport the Alien Queen's body to the large landfill in Hammarby and the large body can be burned there.
Curious people are starting to arrive from both Flengatan and Snedvägen and not everyone has watched TV and knows what is happening. The people have lots of questions and the military and defense and the police are trying to answer the questions as best they can. A few people break through the first barrier and take several photos of the Alien Queen's large body. The people are told to leave the cordoned off area immediately. The police are expanding their cordon so that they can work with the Alien Queen's body in peace and quiet.
A number of military personnel are assigned to check that the residential area in Hammarby is safe and that there are no Alien monsters moving there. It has been reported that some Alien warriors have been seen mainly on Flengatan but also on Snedvägen. The military have contact with each other so that they can check large areas at the same time. An Alien warrior moves outside the villa where Michael's parents live and a military kills the monster. The military decides to make sure that those living in the villa are safe and discover Jack and Ann-Helen's dead bodies outside the villa. The military enters the villa to check for survivors and finds MIchael's wet clothes but also his wallet and mobile phone. The military recognizes the picture on Michael's ID and gives both the wallet and mobile phone to the police. The responsible police officer who receives the wallet and mobile phone also recognizes the person and begins to investigate who Michael is and who he has met recently.
The police find Sven's phone number and call him. Sven is still at Refaberget and he answers the police's questions. Sven tells the police about how Michael died and the police are very disappointed because it may be difficult to find his body parts in the molten steel. More than anything, the police want Michael to still be alive and be found and be forced to account for his actions. The fact that he is now dead feels very tactically planned and the angry crowd that has seen the pictures from Kungsträdgården will never get an answer as to why MIchael did what he did and that will make them angrier. Michael will forever appear as an extreme coward even if a Chestburster was born from his chest.
Sven tells the police that MIchael made sure that the PredAlien and the Alien Queen met and fought to the death and the police think he made a good last choice. But that does not excuse what he did in Kungsträdgården and elsewhere. The police officer in charge has forgotten that he has his walkie-talkie on and everything that Sven and he talk about can be heard in the two helicopters. This also means that both SVT and the BBC and NBC get answers about who placed the eggs in Kungsträdgården but also that the person in question is dead. If Michael's relatives were still alive, they could have sued the police because private information about Michael is now becoming public knowledge. Some of Michael's information is secret because it is protected by Swedish LSS housing law, but now it is becoming public knowledge for anyone who listens. Sven's private information is also being revealed, but he has done nothing wrong.
The police officer in charge thanks Sven for his answer and starts to think about what he should do now. It doesn't seem like there's any point in driving to Skarpnäck Steel and looking for the body parts if they're even there. The police officer sighs deeply and goes to his colleagues and tells them what Sven told him. Michael doesn't seem to be in the police's system of criminals and no one bothers to add him since he's now dead.
Meanwhile, some soldiers continue to control the two largest residential areas and they see two more Alien warriors outside a larger villa. The Alien warriors are killed immediately and the military is surprised that the Alien monsters do not even resist when they are shot at and they do not seem to be going in any particular direction but seem to be going in different directions. The Alien monsters' yellow blood splashes and splatters when they are shot at but luckily no one is hit by their corrosive blood. Three other Alien warriors move near the forest that Michael walked through and the military is quick to kill those monsters too. Some soldiers with flamethrowers are called in and they burn up the eggs that are at the beginning of the forest path. Now it looks like most of the residential area is safe again.
The military checks the two residential areas once more and finds a few Alien eggs outside some villas and the soldiers with flamethrowers are alerted immediately and they arrive at the villas and burn up the eggs. Luckily, the eggs are not so close to the villas that there is a risk of fire when the eggs are destroyed. The egg that is outside Mary's bedroom window is found but that egg is already open and the responsible military looks in through the bedroom window but sees no one there. The military gets permission to break into the villa and see if anyone is home but the villa is empty so the military leaves the villa after looking through it carefully. But the military takes the dead facehugger with them so that it can be burned or otherwise destroyed.
Several of the older people in the villas don't dare to go out even though the eggs are destroyed. The military communicates with their superiors and areas 1 and 2 are now secured but areas 3 and 4 are not fully controlled yet and the military is moving towards the other two areas. There are not as many villas in the other two areas but there could still be Alien eggs or Alien warriors there.
The other two smaller streets feel eerily deserted. Nothing is moving and no one seems to be home. It doesn't look like any Alien warriors have been here and there are no Alien eggs in any lawns or outside the villas. Therefore, areas 3 and 4 can be secured very quickly. The military returns to the bathhouse.
The police measure the Alien Queen's large body and actually they are supposed to weigh her too but they don't have a suitable scale for that. Two of the police pay close attention to the Alien Queen's largest genitalia which is used when the egg sac is formed and they use small mini cameras and insert them into the genitalia so they can see what it looks like inside. Everything is documented carefully and the police are fascinated by what they see in the genitalia. Even though the Alien Queen is dead, something strange seems to be living in the genitalia and it looks like a small black seed. The two police inspect the other genitalia but there is no life there and the organ is quite small. The two police show the large genitalia to their colleagues and all the police think it is best to burn the Alien Queen's body but that it must be done under high heat.
One of the police suggests that her body could perhaps be burned or melted at Skarpnäck steel. That heat should be more than enough to burn every component of the Alien Queen. The other police agree, but it could be tricky to transport the large body. After much deliberation, it is decided that the Alien Queen's body should be divided into different parts to make it easier to transport it to Skarpnäck steel. Some of the police drive to the nearest police station to get an advanced saw that can cut through both skin and bone.
The police who remain at the scene contact the road authority and the prime minister. The news about the Alien monsters' advance has become international and the police are aware that there are many people who want to do a scoop and then they don't care if they get in the way of the police or the defense and the like. There is always some reporter who wants to be the first to reveal something new about what is happening and they don't always listen to what the police say. Therefore, the highway between Hammarby and Skarpnäck must be closed so that no curious people or reporters interfere with the transport of the Alien Queen. Only the police will be allowed to drive on the highway during the transport.
The Prime Minister sends out an important message to the public and tells them that the highway between Hammarby and Skarpnäck is closed so motorists must take an alternative route instead. The highway is expected to reopen in the afternoon or evening. In the meantime, some employees from the road authority go to the highway and begin the blockade. There is not much traffic right now so they can work quickly. Some guards are posted to check that motorists do not use the highway.
Over at the bathhouse, the police return with the advanced saw and they begin to look at the Alien Queen's body to decide where to start cutting. The large crowned head takes up a lot of space and it is decided that it should be split just below the Alien Queen's throat. The saw is started and a high-frequency sound is heard in the air. The Alien Queen's throat looks like a spine, just like most of the other body parts, but it's obvious that the saw has a hard time sawing through the black throat. The police officer using the saw presses as hard as he dares and the sharp blade moves through the spine-like throat and the head is finally severed from the body. The police have a larger pike bus near the bathhouse and the sawed-off crowned head is transported directly there, but the driver doesn't intend to drive until the luggage is full.
The police decide to saw off the Alien Queen's legs because they are so long and it is easier to saw off the legs than the throat. There is very little blood on the legs, which means that the saw blade is very little eroded. The long legs can be folded in two and they are transported to the pike bus once they have been sawed off. The largest part of the Alien Queen's body that remains is the upper part of the throat and her torso, and the police decide to saw off the middle of the body. There are some yellowish sausage-like viscera in the stomach area and they must be removed before the body can be sawed. To reduce the risk of corrosion, the machine that retrieved the Alien Queen's body from the bathhouse is being retrieved.
Two of the long arms pull out the yellowish entrails and they are laid down on the ground. The police pour fuel oil over the entrails and light them. The yellowish entrails do not burn very strongly but they melt and soon only black sticky soot remains. The Alien Queen's torso is sawed out and large amounts of yellow blood splashes and the saw blade has to be changed when half of the torso is sawed off. The police were prepared and brought a new saw blade which is attached to the saw and the work can continue. When the torso is sawed off, the police help put the body parts into the pick-up bus. The long protruding parts of the Alien Queen's back scrape against the pick-up bus's roof but the trunk closes without any problems.
The police call Skarpnäck Stål so that they know that the police are on their way and that they have the Alien Queen's body with them. The employees at Skarpnäck stål are at first a little unsure if they really want to throw the Alien Queen's body into the liquid steel, but they are happy to help the police as best they can and agree to it. The police find out that it is easiest to throw the body parts down from the top floor and that there is a large elevator that goes there.
The Pike bus starts to drive towards Skarpnäck stål and some of the police are sitting at the back and checking that no parts of the Alien Queen's sawed-off body fall out of the luggage. The Alien Queen's body has started to give off a pungent odor and the police who are closest to the body put on advanced respiratory protection for safety.
One of the helicopters that has flown over the police follows and it flies quite low above the pike bus but the pilot cannot follow it into Skarpnäck stål and show what is happening, unless the helicopter lands and the pilot takes the camera into the building. But this has not been discussed with the police and the pilot needs permission to follow in that case. The pilot decides to contact the police who are driving the pike bus so that he can film what is happening inside. The police soon arrive at the building and the large gate is already open.
Skarpnäck Stål
The police park the pike bus as close to the entrance as possible and the pilot has been given permission to land his helicopter and follow in and film. The public is very curious about what is happening and now they can see the Alien Queen's body disappear into the liquid steel. The helicopter lands while the police open the luggage. The Alien Queen's two-part torso will probably be thrown first because it is on top and the police start pulling out the two sawed-off parts. These parts are among the heaviest and they will take up a lot of space in the melting pot.
Two police help each other carry the Alien Queen's torso to the elevator and they take one part at a time because they are heavy and bulky. The pilot who has flown the helicopter documents what is happening and when both parts are in the elevator, the police go up to the top floor with the pilot. Even though the elevator is very large, the space is cramped. Once the elevator is up to the top floor, the police help each other take out the body parts and start pulling them towards the edge of the floor. The same edge where Michael stood barely an hour ago. The police don't dare throw the body parts straight down, so they use their feet and push the Alien Queen's torso so that the two parts finally fall down. The liquid steel splashes loudly as the Alien Queen's torso lands in the melting pot and the level of molten steel rises very quickly. There is a risk that the melting pot will overflow and some of the molten steel will have to be poured into another melting pot next to the first.
The officers call out to the police that they have to wait a moment and the first melting pot begins to be raised so that it is level with the second melting pot. The melting pot is very heavy and must be raised slowly. The police decide to go down to the bottom and retrieve more body parts while the workers are working on the melting pot. The pilot who is filming chooses to stay near the edge and show the viewers what is happening. When the almost overflowing melting pot has risen high enough, it is angled to the right where the second melting pot is and slowly but surely the right melting pot begins to fill with the molten steel. The molten steel almost looks like lava and flows like hot lava. Most of the Alien Queen's torso has already melted but there are still some hard parts left and they stay in the left melting pot. The left melting pot is now sufficiently emptied and is angled at a normal angle and lowered again. In the meantime, the police have retrieved the Alien Queen's legs and put them in the elevator and go up to the highest floor.
The Alien Queen's long legs are not very heavy and the police carry them to the edge and throw them into the melting pot and they disappear into the molten steel and a lot of bubbles form above the surface. The level in the melting pot barely rises and the police go down again and get the big crowned head. The Alien Queen's crowned head takes up a lot of space in the elevator and it is against some of the police bodies but they don't care about it. The elevator comes up to the highest floor and the police help each other carry the Alien Queen's crowned head to the edge and throw it into the melting pot. The crowned head doesn't sink right away but it bobs above the surface and spins around a few times and it looks as if the Alien Queen is staring up at the police. The heat causes the crowned head to melt and it soon starts to sink while the level in the melting pot rises. It was lucky that the melting pot was emptied a lot because otherwise it would have definitely overflowed. The last part of the Alien Queen's crowned head disappears beneath the surface of molten steel and only molten steel is visible in the melting pot.
Now there are only a few parts left of the Alien Queen's body and they are also to be thrown into the melting pot. Among other things, the long spine-like tail is to be thrown into the melting pot and the police go down and pick up the remaining parts and fill the elevator with everything that is left. The elevator becomes half full and the police go up to the highest floor together one last time and take the parts out of the elevator. The police throw the last parts of the Alien Queen's body into the melting pot and they disappear immediately. The level in the melting pot is raised further but it does not need to be emptied. The police are satisfied with their task and leave the highest floor and get into the pick-up bus and drive away. The pilot exits Skarpnäck stål and walks towards his helicopter and follows the police pick-up bus.
Hammarby
Both the police bus and the helicopter return at the same time. The remaining police officers who have stayed behind and guarded the bathhouse have contacted Hammarby's large garbage dump and the PredAlien's body will be burned in a larger incinerator located in the area. All police officers and the pilots in the helicopters are informed of what is going to happen and the pilot who stayed at the bathhouse wants to follow along and document what is happening at the garbage dump. The pilot who went with him to Skarpnäck stål wants to land and take a much-needed break. It was incredibly hot in the premises at Skarpnäck stål and he is still sweating. The pilot is given permission to land and when he gets out of his helicopter he wants a cold drink and a police officer goes into the bathhouse and finds a cold drink for him. The pilot greedily drinks the water he is given. He is so hot and thirsty.
The police put the PredAlien's body in the big pick-up bus and start driving towards the Hammarby landfill while a newly arrived reporter from SVT tells the TV viewers what is happening. The newly arrived reporter does not know that the pilot who has just landed filmed when the Alien Queen's body was thrown into the melting pot and she apologizes for not having any pictures of the Alien Queen's body. The reporter soon hears in her earpiece that the pilot who is standing a little further away and sweating has filmed everything and she goes up to him and does a quick interview. Everything the pilot has filmed has been shown live on TV and the reporter feels stupid that she has missed this and maybe asks unnecessary questions that have already been answered and she decides to ask more personal questions.
- How did you feel when the Alien Queen's body disappeared into the melting pot?
- Well, that was good. Her body needed to be destroyed and this was a good way to do it.
- As I understand it, the Alien Queen was enormous. How did it feel to be so close to her?
- The parts that were thrown into the melting pot had been divided into smaller parts so she didn't feel as big but it was impressive to see her enormous body on the ground here outside the bathhouse before the police divided her body. The crowned head was probably the most impressive I think.
- But did you see her body from the helicopter or up close before the police divided her body?
- I only saw it from the helicopter unfortunately but it was very big and impressive.
- How do you feel about the fact that the Alien monsters have killed many people in the last few days?
- Of course it's terrible. What I find most interesting is that it seems to have been an ordinary person who wished for the Alien monsters to exist in reality and his wish came true. It's the same person who was seen placing several Alien eggs in Kungsträdgården. I would have liked to know more about him and interview him but unfortunately he's dead. A Chestburster exploded from his chest so he got a taste of his own medicine so to speak, but unfortunately it's not documented but a person named Sven witnessed it.
- Oh, that was interesting. What was the name of the person whose wish came true. What do we know about him?
- Erm. His name was Michael but I don't know his last name. Michael lived in an LSS group home but I don't know exactly where. He is said to have had a mild Autism Spectrum Condition but it's uncertain if that was the case. As I understand it, this person made sure that the PredAlien and the Alien Queen fought each other and killed each other. He could apparently influence them both.
- So interesting. I wonder if it's possible to get hold of Michael's relatives and hear how they have perceived this and what they think about the matter.
- It's probably calmer to leave his relatives alone. There are probably a lot of people who hate Michael and what he has done and they will surely hate his relatives too. As a reporter, you should understand that.
- You're probably right. I just thought it would have been interesting to hear other people's input on the matter. You mentioned a person called Sven. Have you spoken to him and who is he?
- Only the police have spoken to him, but I heard their conversation and Sven seems to have been a contact person for MIchael and they did various things together, such as having coffee and visiting museums. It's probably better for you to ask the police if you want more facts about him.
- Okay, I understand. Do you know if anyone has documented the fight between PredAlien and the Alien Queen?
- I don't think so. Michael was probably the only one who witnessed it and it doesn't look like he filmed it.
- What a shame. Well, it's a good thing the two monsters are dead now. They've caused a lot of death and chaos in the last few days.
- I'm aware of that. We really hope something like that never happens again.
- I agree. I'm grateful for the interview.
- Thank you very much.
The reporter leaves the pilot and goes to the bathhouse but there's nothing interesting to see there anymore since both the PredAlien and the Alien Queen's bodies are gone. If they had been there, the reporter might have been able to go up to them and film them up close. Some police officers are still standing outside the bathhouse and they look at the reporter with cool interest. They understand that this is big news but at the same time think that TV'S reporters don't listen to what they're told to do and not to do and the police officers are tired of it being that way.
While the reporter is interviewing the pilot, the pike bus has arrived at the dump and an employee shows where the incinerator is and they drive there and the helicopter follows. The PredAlien's body is unloaded from the pike bus and the large hatch to the incinerator is opened by two employees. The PredAlien's body is thrown into the incinerator and the large hatch is closed and a red light comes on. The hatch must not be opened until the light has turned green. There is hissing and gurgling from inside the incinerator but no smoke is visible. The incinerator makes noise for a few minutes but then the green light comes on and the police open the hatch and see that the PredAlien's body is gone. They close the hatch and drive back to the bathhouse.
The reporter sees the police pike bus return and when the police have exited the bus, the reporter asks several questions and finds out that the PredAlien's body has burned in a large incinerator at the dump and that there is no news or scoop left. The reporter gets a little angry about the police's response and intends to drive back to the city, but she would like to take a walk around the villa area first. There might be someone to interview. But the reporter suddenly changes her mind and heads towards the forest between Hammarby and Zinkensdamm, and she enters it. There is something about the forest that attracts her, but she doesn't know what.
