A/N I read a post on a discussion board recently of a theory that from the moment Willow did the soul curse she was destined to become the most powerful evil witch of all time and her so-called addiction was to power and control over others, not to the Magic itself, given she chose evil both on the show and in the comics apparently.
Gravelings are a part of the Grim Reaper lore of the show Dead Like Me and are explained as souls that didn't get reaped in time and become corrupted.
Twice on the show it's shown that prior to her death and becoming a Grim Reaper herself, George saw gravelings, but didn't know what they were. It's my own theory that it's humans that can see them that are the ones chosen to become Grim Reapers themselves.
A reviewer to one of my own stories pointed out that there were an awful lot of coincidences that happened that helped Glory, Jasmine, the First Evil and Twilight. Coincidences that could be explained by them either manipulating each other, as well as humans or by them working together.
Willow did make the statement that she can be callous and strange after the initial battle with the Jhe and she did state in the episode where Faith strangles Xander that she doesn't like sharing her people.

"Being the Mother of Peace means Cordelia giving birth to the Power, giving her a way into our world, the Power will bring peace to the world. See, I told you even Cordelia could do more to help then you can, Xander. Literal peace on Earth, no war or crime or poverty. You should feel honored, Cordelia." Willow smiled at her. "You can make up for being an evil bitch all your life."
"What kind of Power, Willow?" Local Xander asked, staring at his oldest friend and wondering how he'd somehow missed the fact that she was insane. "The way you're saying it implies a being of some sort and if they were willing to risk Angel's soul being corrupted, than I'm thinking it's not a celestial god of any sort."
"Of course it is, Xander." Willow shook her head. "She only wants to help us."
"Gods, at Ieast those that signed the Accords, can only come in where invited. Cordelia would have to agree to being this Mother of Peace, but the chances of a human surviving giving birth to such a Power -." The visiting Xander stated.
"What's the cost of one life if it saves the world?" Willow beamed.
"You're over looking one thing, Willow." Local Xander pointed out. "If my ability is to See the truth, to know what's hidden and this Power wants me neutralized, than it's because it knows I can See the truth. Which means there's something she doesn't want me to See, some truth that she's hiding and I don't think it's the fact that Cordelia wouldn't survive being it's mother. How exactly would it bring about world peace?"
"Subjugation to its will, perhaps." Giles offered. "Forced enslavement is another, can't very well fight each other if something has total control over us in some manner. The serpent in the grass, promising something wonderful and delivering poison instead."
Willow frowned and shook her head. "No, she just wants to help us, that's all, I promise. I know what I'm doing, I'm a genius!"
"And Buffy and Angel? What part will they play in this world peace?" Giles asked.
"Buffy will tip the balance and she and Angel will bring forth Twilight. It's why they were brought together in the first place. Twilight will destroy all the vampires and demons and close all the Hellmouths. That will help with peace on Earth." Willow explained.
"Twilight is a story, Willow." Giles said stonily. "I've heard of it, but even if it's true, it's method of ensuring all that will be the total destruction of our world. Only an insane Slayer and I mean that literally, would be willing to do that. Willingly destroy everything, down to the last bacteria. There would be no life left on Earth."
"No, Giles, that's just fear talking." Willow denied. "This is a good thing, you'll see."
"There are two Slayers currently because I made Angel help me find Buffy and I revived her when we found her drowned." Local Xander reminded them. "One of whom is teetering on the edge of sanity right now. A back up in case Buffy doesn't go along with the plan laid out for her? Did you orchestrate everything that's happened to Faith to put her in that condition? I'm reminded of something you said, Willow, after that battle where Buffy had to protect you during but somehow decided that I should be 'fray adjacent'. You said sometimes you're callous and strange. It would take someone capable of being callous to get Giles to ignore Faith and her circumstances, to not tell her an accident was an accident, did you have something to do with Buffy and Angel chaining her up and comparing her to Angelus?"
"Yes, but she deserved it, she had no business having sex with you."
"You started your campaign against her before that happened." Local Xander answered "That happened the day after that particular battle. Giles ignored her circumstances from the very first day she was in Sunnydale, you started on her that day."
"I don't like sharing my people, she had no business coming to Sunnydale in the first place." Willow insisted. "I was happy to help destroy her."
"Yeah, you've said before that you don't like sharing us, like we're you're property or something." Local Xander muttered. "So, I'm thinking this Power is meant to be the main focus of my mission of vengeance and I maybe subconsciously worked out the fact that Willow willingly did a whole lot of badness."
