Captain Marvel
Backstory:
Carol Danvers was born to a human father and a Kree mother. She entered the air force at the age of 18, both due to her love of planes and her father's inability/unwillingness to send her to college. Eventually she would be placed on testing experimental air crafts for the air force, and working for Air Force Special Operations. Her career would shift again when she worked NASA as the Chief of State. During this tenure is when she met the original Captain Marvel. Due to the Psyche-Magnitron explosion an ancient Kree defence mechanism inside herself activated which granted her powers, with her new identity as Ms. Marvel she flew across Earth helping those in need, even joining the avengers after working together multiple times, until Rogue stole her powers and memories. With Charles Xavier's help she got her memories back befriending the X-Men for it. During a mission with X-Men she was experimented by the Brood regainning her old powers and more adopting the name Binary, after some time her powers decreased and once again she got back to being a Earth hero and an Avenger, this time with the name Warbird where she faced her demons in the form of alcoholism. After an encounter with Mar-Vell she decided to follow on his legacy becoming the new Captain Marvel.

Song: Marveling the Stars
A streak of what appeared to be bright red fire raced through the sky, but upon closer inspection, it was none other than the Tamaranean heart and soul of the Teen Titans: Koriand'r, also known as the radiant Starfire. Her joyous heart soared as she reveled in the pure freedom of flying through the vast, open sky.
She had been on her way to the beloved Titan Academy, eager to reunite with her chosen family of friends. However, her peaceful journey was abruptly interrupted by a powerful blast of photon energy that struck her relentlessly from behind. Letting out a pained cry, she crashed into the rooftop of a building. Starfire slowly rose to her feet, groaning as she turned her gaze upwards to find none other than the blonde Captain Marvel staring back at her.
"Ah-ha! I have finally tracked you down, Blackfire. Someone informed me that you were attempting to hide on Earth, but I never imagined I would find you flying out in the open without a care for your surroundings."
Captain Marvel chuckled confidently as she prepared herself by cracking her knuckles, firmly believing that she was standing before the infamous villainess Blackfire. Starfire rose to her feet, gesturing frantically with her arms.
"Please, wait! You are mistaken! Blackfire is my wicked sister, and I am the benevolent one. I am Starfire, not Blackfire!"
Captain Marvel sneered as her fists glowed with brilliant light, preparing for the imminent battle. Her expression hardened as she declared,
"Your sister warned me of that. You won't be able to deceive me just because you look a tad different and try to convince me otherwise."
Starfire attempted to fly away swiftly, but Captain Marvel swiftly pursued, delivering a heavy blow from behind that sent her crashing down to the street below. The asphalt beneath her gave way, creating a deep crater as she lay there dazed. However, she swiftly regained her composure, standing back up just in time to witness the avenger somersault and charge forward with immense force, her glowing fists radiating with intense energy.
Unrelenting, Starfire stood her ground, valiantly blocking the assault with a single hand as she struggled against the powerful force. Refusing to be overwhelmed, she summoned her own power, gathering energy within herself as she struck back with a fierce ultraviolet charged punch that sent Captain Marvel flying backward across the street. She wasn't finished just yet, however, as she swiftly darted forward, launching a series of rapid blows before completing the assault with a powerful uppercut that sent her blonde assailant soaring upwards into the air. Without hesitation, Starfire followed closely behind, determined to press her advantage.
The battle escalated as Captain Marvel took hit after hit, frantically trying to defend herself behind a barrier of glowing energy. However, her efforts proved futile as Starfire absorbed the barrier, a satisfied grin stretching across her face. She declared confidently,
"You must do better than that."
Captain Marvel hastily raised her forearms in a defensive position, bracing herself for the onslaught of powerful punches from her opponent. The superheroine could sense that the Tamaranean's attacks were significantly stronger than her own as she struggled to withstand the barrage.
"She can absorb energy just like me? This is troubling. She may be able to absorb my constructs, but I'll need to find a way to steal it back and contain it within my own body."
Carol's thoughts raced as she realized that they shared a similar ability. She focused her efforts on gradually absorbing some of her energy back while simultaneously shielding herself from Starfire's attempts to absorb her own energy with each powerful punch. After successfully stealing back a significant amount of energy, Carol caught the unsuspecting Starfire off guard with a forceful uppercut before swiftly ascending into the air above her. With a powerful double-fisted sledgehammer strike, she sent the Tamaranean crashing down onto an abandoned car below. Not yet satisfied, the avenger hovered downward, preparing to deliver the finishing blow.
Starfire managed to evade the impending attack, barely escaping the car as it was obliterated in the blast. Rebounding quickly, she delivered another energy-charged punch to Carol, launching into a fierce exchange of blows. The two heroines engaged in a high-speed clash, streaking across the road in a dazzling display of yellow and green flares of light.
Quick on her feet, Starfire adeptly dodged a punch from Captain Marvel, swiftly maneuvering behind her. Seizing the opportunity, she delivered a powerful blow to the back of the blonde superheroine's head, leaving her disoriented and vulnerable. Seizing the moment, Starfire encircled Carol in a tight bearhug from behind.
"I have to get her out of the city. Our combined strength is too great like this."
With determination, Starfire took to the skies, hurtling into the lower atmosphere at a mind-boggling speed, exceeding sound by hundreds of times. With a forceful heave, Starfire hurled Captain Marvel up into the air, and unleashed a torrent of green starbolts that sailed towards the avenger, including eye beams. Carol, unfazed, swiftly flipped around and raised her defenses, absorbing each starbolt with her powers. As she absorbed the eye beams, she advanced forward and reached out towards Starfire, punching her in the stomach. The two fell from the sky as rapidly as they had ascended, crashing down onto the rugged terrain of the Appalachian Mountains with a deafening boom.
Captain Marvel charged directly at Starfire, who agilely evaded the assault and countered with a swift kick, propelling Carol forward. As the superheroine moved in for another strike, Captain Marvel dodged once again and retaliated with a punishing punch. Continuing, Captain Marvel retaliated with a kick aimed at Starfire, but the Tamaranean effortlessly seized her ankle and hurled her aside before swiftly pursuing her airborne adversary. Closing the gap, Starfire unleashed a powerful double-fisted sledgehammer attack, slamming Carol down towards the ground.
Barely averting a direct collision with the ground, Captain Marvel managed to stabilize herself as she and Starfire engaged in a frenzied battle, moving at breathtaking velocities through the air. However, Starfire swiftly spun around her adversary, her vibrant tresses streaming behind her like a blazing meteor's tail, before delivering a powerful punch, launching the superheroine forward. Undeterred, Captain Marvel charged back down towards Starfire with a forceful punch, but the agile Tamaranean swiftly evaded the assault.
Captain Marvel seized the opportunity following the missed punch to kick her back. The exchange of blows continued as the two superheroines repeatedly traded punches and kicks, their skills seeming remarkably evenly matched. Suddenly, the fierce battle came to a pause as they halted in the middle of a punch near a mountain. Captain Marvel wore a smug smile as she abruptly replaced herself with a radiant avatar of light in her place.
Caught off guard, Starfire rapidly absorbed attacks from the light avatar, including the avatar itself, only to feel a sharp tug at her hair. She let out a cry as Captain Marvel spun her around by the lengthy tresses before launching her forcefully down the mountain, her descent scattering trees and pulverizing boulders in her path.
Feeling irritated, Starfire swiftly ascended, her anger mounting as she declared,
"Nobody touches the hair!"
Launching into action, she hurtled towards Captain Marvel at a formidable speed. With a sturdy defense, the latter blocked the Tamaranean's punch with crossed forearms, though she couldn't help but be caught off guard by the unexpected surge in power. Pushed back through the Appalachian Mountains with explosive force, Carol was sent soaring upward into the vastness of space.
With a series of powerful hits, Captain Marvel drained energy from Starfire, each strike adding to her own stores. However, the tenacious Teen Titan swiftly retaliated, employing strikes and bursts of green ultraviolet energy, further intensifying the fight. The speed at which they battled reached incomprehensible levels, exceeding the bounds of light speed and creating a dazzling display across the solar system. Yet, despite Captain Marvel's growing power, she found that Starfire's increasing ferocity was causing her abilities to rapidly surpass her own. Starfire suddenly latched onto her throat, asserting,
"Let me show you what a Tamaranean can do."
Without warning, the Teen Titan began to soar across space at mind-boggling velocities, far surpassing the speed of light. As Carol struggled to breathe, Starfire's grip tightened. With incredible speed, Starfire transported Captain Marvel to the distant Vega star system, 25 light years away from Earth, in a matter of seconds. Positioning Carol near the massive Vega star, twice the size of our own sun with a magnitude 40 times greater, she queried,
"Do you comprehend the vast disparity in our powers now?"
Exposed to the augmented luminosity against her back, Captain Marvel opened her eyes, which radiated with intensity akin to stars. She sensed her power escalating exponentially as she absorbed the vigorous solar radiation. With a forceful declaration, she proclaimed,
"I can... still fight!"
She unleashed intense eye beams that targeted Starfire's eyes, causing her to cry out in pain as she was momentarily blinded. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Captain Marvel seamlessly executed a judo flip, forcefully throwing the Tamaranean towards secondary moon of the shattered remnants of Tamaran.
Captain Marvel smiled confidently, her gaze fixed upon the bluish-white Vega star. With determination, she flew straight towards the star, diving beneath its fiery surface and disappearing from view. Starfire, having recovered and regaining her sight, rubbed her eyes as she searched the heavens, curious as to Captain Marvel's whereabouts.
Within half a minute, a dazzling burst of light flared from the depths of Vega, even outshining the star itself. Emerging from the surface, Captain Marvel appeared in her dazzling Binary form, her once blonde hair transformed into a fiery permanent mane, yet causing no harm to her. Her powers reaching stellar proportions, she was ready to continue the fierce confrontation.
Starfire retreated further into the vastness of space, launching focused starbolts towards Captain Marvel, who effortlessly absorbed the attacks, merely feeding her growing power. With a fierce yell, Binary unleashed an overpowering photon blast that exceeded her previous strikes, though still only a fraction of her true might. Koriand'r attempted to block the onslaught, yet was caught off guard by the sheer increase in its potency over previous attacks.
Despite managing to absorb the energy, the task proved increasingly strenuous for Starfire, her body laboring to contain it. Having expended considerable effort to counter the attack, she found herself vulnerable and was struck in the back by Binary, who had swiftly encircled her. The Tamaranean was forcefully propelled through a colossal asteroid hundreds of miles wide, causing its violent fragmentations.
Despite the impact of crashing through a massive celestial object, Starfire quickly recovered, retaliating with a powerful elbow blow and kicking Binary away. Both heroines charged up their respective attacks, unleashing torrents of vibrant green and brilliant white energy that collided and detonated magnificently between them.
Starfire swiftly charges forward and lands a swift kick, propelling Binary across the star system. Effortlessly, she catches up and launches into a devastating barrage, kneeing her forcibly upwards and delivering a high-speed pummeling. Starfire fires another energy attack at her adversary, but there's no explosion this time; instead, a colossal orb of energy is absorbed by Binary's heightened abilities.
Starfire flies higher, engaging in a gripping clash with Binary, their hands firmly locked together as they traversed the galaxy, smashing through barren planets and immersing their bodies within the heart of stars. Despite a headbutt from Binary, which proved ineffective, Koriand'r effortlessly counterattacked with a smirk and took control of the grapple, forcefully flinging her adversary through the vastness of space.
Before she could react, Starfire charges towards Binary, delivering a swift uppercut that launches her backward. Joining her adversary, she swiftly kicks her into a nearby planet. A shocked expression spreads across Binary's face as Starfire suddenly appears in front of her, her palm charged and poised against the heroine's face. The subsequent blast annihilates the planet in a spectacular explosion, sending tectonic plates flying in broken fragments.
Binary unleashes her wrath, delving into her full reserves, relinquishing restraint and charging towards Starfire with relentless determination. The duo engages in a series of fierce clashes as they speed through space, illuminating sections of the Milky Way in alternating shades of green and white with each monumental collision.
Sensing desperation, Starfire concentrates every ounce of excess energy she has absorbed within her being, unleashing a breathtaking green supernova from her body, her cry reverberating through the cosmic expanse. Binary's eyes widen in shock as she instinctively prepares to counteract the onslaught, generating a white hole, the exact opposite of a black hole, a force capable of producing an impenetrable shield of infinite outward energy.
Despite the creation of a flawlessly impenetrable shield that defied destruction, Starfire's powers proved too encompassing to completely negate. As a result, Binary valiantly sustained the white hole directly in front of her, being driven backward by the relentless force of the green supernova, pushed back in a relentless struggle as the supernova exerted its stellar power to its farthest limits.
Utterly exhausted from exerting her formidable power, Koriand'r panted heavily after invoking such a massive move. Yet, despite her weariness, she could still discern Binary's radiant luminescence. Sensing her adversary's next move, she fled back towards the Vega star to replenish her powers with its abundant sunlight. Binary, however, was one step ahead and understood her opponent's intentions. She absorbed the white hole into herself and swiftly accelerated towards the very limits of the observable universe, her clenched fist brimming with determination.
As the two heroines prepare themselves, they charge at each other with unparalleled speed, traversing their respective corners of the universe in an unimaginable fraction of a moment. Their clenched fists, brimming with immeasurable potential energy, poised for a collision that could only be described as a clash of colossal proportions. The ultimate question arises: what happens when two women, propelled at inconceivable velocities, cross the vast expanse of space in an planck time, and their fists wield an energy equivalent to two infinite mass punches, hurtling straight towards one another?
In one singular instance, a supermassive black hole materialized, tearing through the fabric of space-time as the two heroines found themselves at its very center. With a mass equivalent to that of 100 billion suns and a diameter spanning 100 times the size of our solar system, silence and darkness engulfed the vast event horizon. Bound together by the singularity between their clenched fists, the heroines struggled to pull apart, finding themselves entrapped within the gravitational anomaly.
Despite Binary's aura shielding her from utter compression into an atomic state, she could acutely sense the muscles of her right arm being stripped from her bones. She cried out in anguish as she felt the flesh of her arm drawn into the singularity. Meanwhile, Starfire, with her inherent durability, resisted having her arm torn apart. To rescue her opponent, who was inherently good but misguided, she firmly planted her feet and exerted a tremendous effort to pull them apart from the singularity's devastating grasp.
With concerted effort from both heroines, they managed to push apart with enough impetus, breaking free from the tenacious grasp of the singularity in an explosion of cosmic magnitude. Their separation unleashed a colossal burst of energy, equivalent to the combined explosive force of hundreds of thousands of supernovas, forcefully propelling them in opposite directions through the vast expanse of space.
Captain Marvel was left battered and bruised, her body charred black and her right arm absent. She clung to life, her healing factor barely keeping her from death's grasp, yet not strong enough to fully restore her. Starfire approached her, gently lifting her battered form, determined to save her life despite the excruciating battle they had just endured. With unwavering determination, Koriand'r set a course for Earth, committed to nursing her injured opponent back to health after having confronted one of the most challenging fights of her life.
Strength: Captain Marvel and Starfire are some of the strongest heroines of their respective universes, but as I'm sure you've heard, the DC universe is just too big. In comics, Captain Marvel has fought against Thor, which Death Battle has calculated to be strong enough to destroy 2.38 million universes. But let's be super generous, since Thor can be much stronger. Let's upscale the Marvel universe from 1 trillion lightyears to the biggest estimates scientists guess of our whole total universe of 100 sextillion lightyears. Which is interestingly roughly 1 trillion times our own universe. But when you compare the 113 nonillion lightyears diameter of DC to our universe, you get a difference of 1.22 sextillion times, which is where the strongest universal beings generally stand. This makes Starfire roughly 1.2 billion times more stronger, and that's when Captain Marvel is Binary.
Speed: Interestingly, both characters have, or logically should have planck time speed feats. Captain Marvel, again, scales to Thor, who can move in planck time, the shortest measurable length of concievable time. Starfire also scales too to Amazonians like Donna Troy and Wonder Woman. While Donna is controversial on how powerful she is at any given moment, her high points do make her to be almost as fast as Diane herself, who can react to Professor Zoom who's ahead of her in time and space. Wonder Woman herself is even impressed by Starfire, and has to put in serious effort to match her. So let's calculate when you travel across each universe in a planck instant. 100 sextillion light years in planck time is 211 sexvigintillion FTL. 113 nonillion light years in planck time is 201 novemvigintillion FTL. Seriously, look up what scientific notation those words mean. The difference is Starfire being 952 million times faster than Captain Marvel.
Skill: Both are martially trained, but I'd say that Carol is the better skilled, since her martial training is ingrained into her DNA, and thus is more honed into combat than Koriand'r.
Experience: I'd say that both are equal in experience. Sure, Captain Marvel is older, but she began her hero life by the time she was an air force colonol. Starfire meanwhile had been living a warrior's life as early as she could be taught, and is usually at oldest in her early 20s. And they've both fought an equal variety of heroes and villains.
Powers: Captain Marvel may have the greater energy absorption skill in that she can absorb every type of energy Starfire can throw at her, prevent her own energy from being physically drained by taking it back, and can create a white hole, thus giving her the win in variety, it's not an automatic win. Starfire can still absorb any of her blasts of light, and likely grows stronger at a similar rate as Carol. When Captain Marvel absorbs energy, she does't become stronger by leaps and bounds, Binary the exception, but rather by a linear percentage, due to not becoming vastly overpowered any time she absorbs a large amount of energy, and thus likely could not close the gap when Starfire has such a huge difference in base stat totals. This is why I didn't go for her other famous match up, Supergirl. As strong as Koriand'r is, even by Tamaranean standards, she's still weaker than Kryptonians. If there's canon proof that the Marvel universe is more than 100 sextillion light years across (besides infinite), I'll look over the math again. I just couldn't personally find any proof.
The winner is Starfire.
Next time:
"What a smorgasbord of strong fighters! This is awesome! I feel like a kid in a candy store! Literally! Ahhhh! The sheer joy! I feel I've died and gone to android heaven! I can hardly contain myself! This couldn't have gone any better!"
"This might sound rather a posteriori, but you don't stand a chance against me. My theoretical specs far exceed that of any human being."
