Song: Lab Blast

Dexter, a prodigious eight-year-old, diligently worked on his latest invention in his meticulously ordered secret laboratory. The atmosphere was calm and serene, with only the soothing hum of ambient noises breaking the silence. The pristine and organized environment was a perfect match for the young genius' preference for control and cleanliness, especially when he didn't have to cope with the disruptive presence of his ditzy and destructive sister, Dee Dee.

Dexter's peaceful routine was abruptly interrupted as the laboratory began to tremble, causing him to clutch the secured table in surprise and confusion. Suddenly, a rift in the fabric of space-time materialized, splitting his laboratory and replacing half of it with an alternate universe. On the other side of the rift was a three-dimensional laboratory, starkly contrasting Dexter's two-dimensional world. Standing there was fellow boy genius Jimmy Neutron. Jimmy took a moment to assess his latest misadventure, musing aloud,

"Whoops. I'll have to fine-tune the Universe Portal Machine once again."

Unbeknownst to him, his universe had encroached upon Dexter's domain. However, when the two geniuses laid eyes on each other, they both quietly judged the other. Jimmy made a mental note of Dexter's shorter stature, while Dexter observed Jimmy's unusually prominent cranium. Once Dexter comprehended the situation, he confronted Jimmy, his accent hinting at a vaguely European origin – possibly German or Russian.

"Hold on a moment! This was your doing? How unbelievably moronic must you be to recklessly dabble with space-time without ensuring that both universes don't clash? Get your dimension out of my laboratory!"

Jimmy felt offended at the slight on his brilliance but controlled his irritation. He shot back with a confident retort,

"I've got the situation under control. I don't need your critique, especially when you probably can't differentiate between quantum mechanics and quantum field theory."

Dexter's already substantial ego flared up even further when his own intelligence was questioned. In a fit of anger, he commanded the computer,

"Oh, you've asked for it now, Hadron Head! Computer, activate the intruder defense protocol!"

With laser precision, the eight-year-old boy genius whipped out a laser gun, aimed squarely at Jimmy, and fired. In response, Jimmy let out a startled yelp and scurried deeper into his laboratory. This triggered a high alert status for both labs, as Dexter's various robots stormed into Jimmy's domain, with several engaging in defensive combat.

The all-out battle was in full swing, with Jimmy employing his watch to hack into Dexter's robots, dismantling them one after another. Dexter, in turn, managed to locate Jimmy and unleashed a barrage of laser shots, cackling maniacally as the opposing genius retreated further. Seizing the moment, Jimmy discovered the Force Field Gun, aiming it at Dexter and enclosing him within a protective bubble. The bubble reflected the incoming lasers, forcefully propelling Dexter backward and pinning him against the force field.

Initially alarmed that he had accidentally killed the young boy, Jimmy soon realized the truth when Dexter's robotic decoy sparked to life, confirming it was a decoy.

"Nice try, but I'm still the reigning champion of intellect!"

With the Gravity Gauntlet at his disposal, Dexter used it to treat Jimmy like a pinball, sending him crashing against various surfaces within the lab. Finally, Dexter delivered a powerful punch that propelled Jimmy back, slamming him into a wall. Jimmy slumped down in pain, clearly weakened.

In the backdrop of the fierce personal conflict, their respective robots continued battling. The Maternotron struck out with a mop wielding mop water, successfully disabling several robots with its wet cleaning solution, but the Mom Droid 1000 swiftly retaliated, charging forth to dispense lasers in all directions, ultimately obliterating the robotic mom. However, the Mom Droid 1000 met its match in the form of Goddard, the robot dog. Goddard barked defiantly before neutralizing the droid with precision laser eye beams, slicing it vertically in half. Nevertheless, the robot dog was swiftly swarmed by an army of Major Glory action figures, relentlessly pummeling the mechanical canine with their fists, heat vision and freeze breath.

Goddard found a temporary respite as it managed to consume the onslaught of Major Glory action figures like soda cans, but its brief moment of triumph was short-lived when Monkey, Dexter's superpowered primate in his heroic guise, charged forward and bashes Goddard with a tackle, effortlessly evading robot attacks and demolishing Jimmy's technological weaponry. With his enhanced abilities and personal energy field, Monkey bulldozed through the majority of Jimmy's defenses. He caught sight of another Jimmy attempting to sneak up on Dexter from behind, but Monkey swiftly intervened, propelling himself forward to obliterate the android double before whisking Dexter away to a safer location, protecting him from further exposure.

Dexter descended into the cockpit of his Robo-Dexo 2000 and let out a boisterous chuckle as he turned to acknowledge his loyal companion.

"Ah-ha, an excellent change in plan! I hadn't planned for your involvement, but victory should now be within our grasp!"

Monkey, in his heroic persona, leaped onto the giant robot's shoulder, chittering excitedly in agreement.

As the towering Robo-Dexo 2000 stormed into Jimmy's laboratory, the young genius frantically attempted to retreat with his jetpack, but Dexter managed to land a few targeted strikes, dislodging the rocket-powered backpack.

"Goddard, flight-cycle mode!"

Jimmy urgently commanded his pet to transform into a hover bike, hoping to assist his escape. However, Monkey intervened once again, pushing Goddard aside and preventing him from coming to his aid. Undeterred, Jimmy quickly activated his rocket shoes by tapping them together, igniting them and reengaging his flight capabilities.

Dexter, now operating within the cockpit of the Robo-Dexo 2000, was getting increasingly frustrated with Jimmy's persistent fly-like acrobatics. In the midst of the chaotic battle, Dexter's sister, Dee Dee, entered his lab, her oblivious nature on full display. She cheerfully greeted her brother, waving and inquired curiously,

"Hi, Dexter! Who's your new friend?"

Despite being thoroughly engrossed in his ongoing battle with a fellow genius, Dexter's anger flared upon the unwelcome invasion of his personal sanctuary by his sister, Dee Dee. With a frustrated outburst, he boomed down at her,

"Dee Dee! How many times must I reiterate this?! Get out of my laboratory!"

Dexter's focus divided for a moment, his distracted punch leaving an opening for Jimmy to fire upon him with an anti-gravity disc. The giant robot was promptly lifted into the air, crashing through Jimmy's backyard. Dexter retaliated by firing a barrage of missiles, but a diminutive flying saucer appeared, annihilating each attack with the aid of two nanobots, now enhanced with three watchful eyes to safeguard against any potential misfires directed at Jimmy. N-1 and N-2 talked between each other.

"Imminent danger! Preparation for imminent destruction of threat!"

"Why must I always be the one to follow you? I have as much command over this ship as you."

"You see the N-1 on my side? One means first, so that means I one-up you in leadership!"

"Excellent work, Nanobots!"

Jimmy shouted out, as he swooped around the robotic guardians. He swiftly reached for a mechanical slingshot, firing a canister of Oxidation Accelerator that exploded into a rust-red cloud, careening towards the Robo-Dexo 2000. As the canister detonated, Dexter's monitor displayed a series of warning alerts, revealing the alarming rate at which the giant mecha was corroding under the impact of the corrosive substance – a process that would ordinarily take two centuries, but was now being accelerated exponentially.

Dexter, having successfully ejected from the Robo-Dexo 2000, quickly activated his teleportation device, smoothly transporting himself to the safety of the ground. With a resolute expression, he declared,

"This situation is more complex than I anticipated! I need to tap into the full extent of my unparalleled genius!"

He sprinted towards his Clone-O-Matic, cranked the device to maximum output, and initiated the creation of an army of his duplicates. Jimmy, now witnessing the rapid multiplication of Dexter's duplicates, expressed concern,

"Uh oh. Activate Decimator Mode, Goddard!"

The mechanical dog barked in affirmation before transforming into a humanoid attacking construct. It commenced punching and kicking away at the surrounding Dexter clones, progressively growing larger with every swift victory.

Monkey attempted to intervene with a punch, but Goddard was effortlessly able to swat away the flying primate, sending him spiraling into the street, creating a deep trench upon impact. Stunned and disoriented, Monkey struggled to regain composure, only to be abruptly caught off guard by an atomizing beam from the nearby nanobots.

"Aha! I have achieved defeating the augmented carbon based primate!"

"Quiet you! It was I who allowed you to take the shot. You're just my stewardess who only sometimes help."

"Why must you always ruin my fun?"

Stunned momentarily by the loss, the original Dexter frantically searched the area before discovering a conspicuous high-tech helmet. Without hesitation, he swiftly donned the equipment. Dexter taunted the nanobots, drawing their attention with a provocative gesture, declaring,

"Oh, look at me! I'm wide open, ripe for atomization!"

In a calculated move, Dexter stood unprotected while turning on his newfound high-tech helmet. The nanobots eagerly approached, attempting to neutralize him with their atomic powers. However, the invisible force field generated by the helmet deflected the attack, annihilating the nanobots and their ship. The resulting explosion revived Monkey, but also heralded the return of the previously fired missiles that detonated around the augmented primate.

As this was happening, Dexter and Jimmy's dad were talking, as if they were merely neighbors, unbothered by the pandemonium nearby, or the fact the one was 2D flat, and the other was bulgy with 3D proportions.

"So you want to talk about sports over some muffins?"

"So long as you don't mind me talking about ducks as well, I'd gladly enjoy some pie with those muffins."

"Ah, so are you a hunter?"

"Oh goodness, no! I just love ducks."

Having expended numerous gadgets and strategies in their respective efforts, both genius boys were left panting, appearing nearly spent of resources. Monkey, having been squashed under the heel of the colossal Goddard, was now out of contention.

"Oh, I can't believe I have to resort to this,"

Dexter muttered, withdrawing a vial filled with a potent monster potion from his lab coat. Dexter downed the contents of the ominous green potion, immediately prompting a visible shiver as he gradually expanded in stature, rapidly progressing from an unassuming child to a massive purple dinosaur. Both he and Goddard let out thunderous roars, signaling the commencement of their offensive maneuvers. Goddard hurled a punch towards Dexter's face; however, the young genius swiftly unleashed a powerful tail whip, sending the robotic colossus stumbling backward.

Dexter unleashed a torrent of fire against Goddard, but the mechanized canine remained unfazed. In response, Goddard launched a kick that collided with Dexter's face. Although the forceful blow would have rendered him unconscious, Dexter's transformation continued, his body further expanding in size. Eventually, he grew to be over four times Goddard's size, or perhaps about 2/3 the size of Mount Everest. Dexter chuckled in satisfaction as he exerted pressure against the struggling canine, pinning him beneath his colossal finger.

Jimmy, propelled by his personal rocket, soared towards Dexter's gargantuan face, which effortlessly dwarfed the young genius.

"Hey! Leave Goddard alone!"

In response, Dexter chuckled disdainfully, declaring,

"Who are you to dictate terms to me? I am the ultimate intellect in the universe. Your intellect pales in comparison to mine, just as my current colossus form towers over your diminutive frame!"

"Come on. Think, think, think!"

With a determined resolve, Jimmy began to concentrate, his mind going into overdrive as his brain pulsated with intellectual activity. Synapses fired rapidly as he considered three key elements: Dee Dee, the source of his earlier anger; his shrink ray; and the enigmatic 4th dimensional hypercube. A plan started taking shape in his brilliant mind. Recognizing an opportunity, Jimmy called out to Dexter, feigning a distraction,

"Brain Blast! Hey Dexter, I noticed your sister sneaked into your lab again as I was leaving!"

Jimmy counted on Dexter's notorious short temper to take control, hoping to exploit his frustration and provoke a reaction. Dexter's frustration flared as he reacted explosively,

"What?! That idiotic sister of mine can never give me a moment of peace during my valuable time!"

Dexter's attention shifted towards his lab as he focused on the mentioned disturbance, completely oblivious to Jimmy's secret plan. By the time Dexter realized what was occurring, it was too late. Jimmy had already employed the shrink ray to reduce himself to planetary size, rendering Dexter momentarily stunned.

Dexter's nervous laughter rang out as Jimmy's smirk widened, exuding confidence. With a single gentle breath, Jimmy sent the purple dinosaur hurtling into the depths of outer space. The young genius cried out as he careened towards the moon, crashing onto its surface and momentarily dazed by the impact. Before Dexter could regain his bearings, he was suddenly zapped and ensnared within the confines of Jimmy's 4th dimensional hypercube, effectively signaling his defeat.

Dexter, reverted to his normal state following the dissipation of the monster potion, bellowed in indignant frustration. Seething with anger, he pounded on the inner walls of the hypercube, demanding his release.

"Let me out of here! I am Dexter, boy genius! You cannot contain the brilliance of a young prodigy!"

Jimmy returned his and Dexter's size to normal, his smile growing wider as he declared,

"Well, I'm a boy genius too."

With both of them back to their regular dimensions, Goddard, now in his normal robotic canine form again, leaped over to join Jimmy. It barked excitedly, happily celebrating its owner's hard-earned victory.

As Jimmy remained focused on his victory, he failed to notice that Dee Dee had actually returned to the lab unannounced, intrigued by her 3D form. Intrigued by a carnivorous plant, she reached out to try and touch it, but the plant snapped threateningly at her, causing her to flee in a panic back into Dexter's lab. Breathless, Dee Dee caught sight of a sleek red button, instantly capturing her boundless curiosity.

"Ooooh! What does this button do?"

With a giddy expression, she pressed the button, not knowing what would occur next. Dexter's voice filled with despair as he witnessed Dee Dee press the mysterious red button. Immediately, the lab's alarm blared a self-destruct warning, prompting Jimmy to hastily mount Goddard and dart to safety, just in time to escape the ensuing explosion. As the dust settled, only Dee Dee remained unharmed, her natural curiosity quenched. So she left to go play with her dolls. Dexter, left to grieve over his obliterated laboratory, lamented,

"Oh, my dear, poor laboratory. Why does my stupid sister continue to wreck everything I painstakingly create with such reckless ignorance?"

Despite Dexter's role as the instigator in their massively recent battle, Jimmy felt a pang of sympathy for the younger genius's predicament. He too knew the pain of having one's work ruined repeatedly by someone else's carelessness. With a determined resolve, Jimmy approached Dexter and declared,

"I understand how you feel. Losing your hard work is not easy. Let me help you rebuild your laboratory."

As Jimmy released Dexter from his grip, the young genius stumbled forward, but Jimmy quickly extended a helping hand, lifting him back up and brushing off any dirt.

"You know, we don't have to be enemies. I guess you could say this is partly my fault. Plus, your lab is full of intriguing inventions, and I was impressed by them. So, how about we work together, compare notes, and learn from each other?"

Dexter endeavored to maintain his composure, but considering the wreckage of his lab, he chose to momentarily shelve his pride and concur.

"Perhaps I judged you prematurely. I won't actively compare notes with you, but if there are some things we can learn from each other along the way, that should suffice."

Jimmy took Dexter's condition in stride and happily shook the boy genius's extended hand. The two intellectually gifted individuals now determined to pool their collective expertise to clean up a mess that needn't have occurred and emerge stronger for it.

Strength: Normally, these two don't use brute force to solve their problems. But Jimmy does come with greater power. Dexter's feat of blowing up Mt Fujiyashiyame, a parody of Mt. Fuji and from the size of the chucks looks like the lower end of fragmentation, would require 800 MT of TNT. However, even if we upscaled his attack potency to 24 GT to the time that he was stopping meteors with his Robo-Dexo 3000, or including his continent sized kaiju form which just existing would put him around 4.4 Petatons of TNT, Jimmy growing to his planet size would make existing and overall moving at that size equivalent of 718.5 Yottatons of TNT. That makes Jimmy nearly 50 billion times more powerful than Dexter.

Speed: Both boys are quick to the draw, have light speed based reactions. But Jimmy was able to fly his parent saving armada in the movie pilot 3 million light years across in at least 1 day to save them. For those that don't know, that's about as far as the Triangulum Galaxy. That makes Jimmy a billion times faster than light. Even if it took a month, that still makes him 36.5 million times faster than light, which is way faster than Dexter's ever done.

Skill: When it comes to plain ol' fisticuffs, Dexter has the advantage, because even if Jimmy had all of his physical enhancement gadgets that didn't increase his size, Dexter gave himself the Karate skill to fight off a US army group. While both are usually flimsy and resort to slap fights, Dexter is more likely to win up close and personal.

Experience: Simple. Jimmy is 12, and Dexter is 8. Even if Jimmy's foes are often more buffoonish.

Powers: While they share similar abilities with their various gadgets, Dexter has the disatvantage that more of his tools are bolted down to his lab, and requires shifting from one to another for each specific ability. Jimmy has more of his skills readily available at any given time, especially given his hypercube acting as a bottomless bag.

The winner is Jimmy Neutron.

Next time:

"Assassins aren't tools. As fucked up as we may be, we're HUMANS, too!"

"Whoa! You're the fattest zombie I've ever seen! Oh, wait - sorry - I didn't mean to be insensitive... DIE!"
