Kamen Rider Worm and Naruko left the storage and took a left into the gloomy corridor. They moved with a slow, deliberate pace and in silence, still shifting nervously whenever they heard a skuttle in the vents, fearing that a monster was going to be waiting for them up ahead or one was going to drop down in front of them.
Worm was a bit more confident now that she had transformed. Not only was she much stronger than when she was untransformed, she was harder to hurt and her night vision was much better.
Naruko was holding up a little better now, the initial shock and horror of seeing so much death having settled down. She had been put through a lot of *bleep* during her childhood but had never actually seen death like that. While death was not uncommon in the ninja world it was often over very quickly. Either by a weaker ninja being killed by a much stronger one, or two opponents who had even strength wanting to finish the fight as soon as possible.
But that thing, it had carved that crewmate to pieces! 'No one deserves to die like that.' Naruko thought.
After several turns the two of them reached a door with a sign above it that read 'TRAM CONTROL STATION'
Worm gestured for Naruko to keep back as she reached forwards towards the door.
Naruko noted that the Kamen Rider's hand was trembling, indicating that she too was scared behind her emotionless mask. The blonde felt a pang of sympathy for her, this whole experience must have been grueling for her too, seeing her fellow kin dying like that.
Worm hit the door's control panel and it slid open. She stepped into the next tunnel, her whole body tense as she scanned the area before relaxing minutly. "Okay, let's keep going."
Naruko followed after her.
Suddenly, their communicators came to life. "This is Benson! Everyone listen up! They're using the vents! That's how their getting around the ship! Say away from the vents…"
"Look out!" Came a warning.
"Get back! GET BACK!"
Naruko whimpered as the screams were cut off by a familiar roar before the communicators fell silent.
The two of them passed through another door into a spacious room with several windows in the front of it that were facing what looked like a train terminal.
'How odd for a spaceship to have trains inside of it' Naruko thought. Natsu had explained trains to her during her time on the Kellion and Naruko had realized she had heard about something similar in Snow Country.
The only source of light came from a pair of floodlights on the other side of the glass. Naruko jumped with joy and no small bit of relief when she saw that Kendra and Zach were on the other side of the panels, both were alive.
The humans noticed them as Kendra opened a communication line to them.
"Natsu! Naruko! God, I can't believe they made it!" Kendra exclaimed.
"Natsu, Miss Uzumaki." Zach wheezed. "We ran into more of them on the way. Are you two okay?"
"More of what!?" A frantic Kendra confronted Zach. "Are are those things!? W-Was that the crew!?"
"Keep your voice down! Whatever they are, they sure aren't friendly and half the doors on this ship are locked because of the quarantine." He turned back to the group that was across the tram station. "We've got to get to the bridge, but in order to do that first we have to fix the trap station.
Kendra couldn't believe what she was hearing and clearly didn't like being bossed around in a situation like this. "You're crazy, Zach. You're going to get all of us killed!"
"If you listen to me, I WILL get you out of here alive." He growled in response." Now, what's wrong with the tram?"
Kendra turned away from him and rapidly skimmed through a few commands on her tablet before sighing exasperation. "The data board if fried but there should be a spare in the maintenance bay. There's also a broken tram blocking the tunnel that needs to be repaired." She pointed off to the side. "Damn it! Everything is on the other side of the quarantine. We can't reach any of it from here!"
"No we can't." Zach turned his attention back to the screen. "But you can. Natsu, if I can get to the bridge, I should be able to access the personnel files thanks to my clearance level. You fix the tram and I'll help you find Nicole."
Worm tensed at the statement before smacking herself in the faceplate. 'Damn it, how could I have forgotten about Nicole!?' Then again, considering what she had just been through it wasn't a surprise she had forgotten. The Kamen Rider struggled to keep calm. What Zach was suggesting was near suicide! They didn't even know how many of those monsters were on this ship!
Then again, her friend was right.
If she did this right they could fix the tram, make their way to the bridge, find Nicole and any other survivors before getting the hell of this death trap.
'First things first though.' She thought grimly. 'Let's fix this.'
"Wait, Zach! Don't turn it off yet!" Kendra appeared on the screen, a concerned frown upon her face. She spook gently to the twleve year old girl, like a mother would to a crying child. "Naruko, listen. You're back where you wanted to be now, right? I'm begging you, just… get out of here. You have a chance to escape all this crap, you can go home, there's no reason to stay here. I'm… I'm sorry you had to go through this, okay? Just get home now, to safety."
Naruko felt tears well up in her eyes once more. Kendra's eyes were pleading her to leave but the future kunoichi knew full well she couldn't just abandon them to their fate on this damned ship.
She might not have had a lot of friends growing up, she was fairly sure that wasn't what a friend was supposed to do.
"Miss Uzumaki… Kendra is right. I don't believe this is the right place for you." Zach spoke up.
"Naruko, please listen to me. I promise we will be alright, okay? You have a chance to get out of here. Leave now, while you can. Live another day, Naruko."
She averted her gaze towards Worm, while her expression was hidden by her helmet, Naruko could guess she had the same pleading look.
There was nothing but silence among the Kellion's crew as Naruko contemplated her options.
Anxiousness grew in everyone's hearts as they awaited the future kunochi's verdict.
Finally, Naruko steadied herself and took a deep breath. "You're all right." She admitted. "I'm sorry but I can't fight these things. I apologize for letting you face them alone but I'll be nothing but a burden."
"You have nothing to apologize for, Naruko." Kendra assured her.
Her encouraging words made Naruko smile for a second before she mentally prepared herself for the trip back. She summoned the vulcan driver and the dimension raccoon progrise keycard before hitting its button. [CONNECT!] She slammed the driver onto her waist and flipped the keycard open before placing it into the driver's slot. Naruko took the driver off of the belt and pulled the trigger. [DIMENSION SHOT!] A tiny pinprick of light formed at the tip of the gun, Naruko poured every ounce of chakra she could into it until it grew larger and brighter.
The awed Kellion crew members were forced to shield their eyes to avoid going blind.
Naruko pushed harder and harder. She could feel reality twisting apart with tendrils of energy licking at her from her home dimension.
'Come on, come on!" Naruko beckoned to herself as a faint sound reached her ears and grew louder. It sounded like a trickle of water that was steadily but slowly forming a river.
That was when everything went wrong.
The young girl grew nervous as a creeping chill snaked across her body. The echoes were closer now, she could swear that there were whispers in the dark calling out her name, almost beckoning her to join them in the shadows that suddenly clouded her view.
Naruko
Naruko
In an instant, Naruko panicked. [ERROR!] The jutsu destabilized and the light shattered! Her vision went back to normal and she took a huge gulp of air, releasing she had been holding her breath the entire time. Naruko had never experienced anything like that and was thoroughly freaked out!
Whatever she had seen wasn't natural.
A worried Worm approached her. "What happened?"
"I-I-I can't do it." Naruko stammered.
"What?" Worm was confused.
"I can't do it… I can't complete the jutsu!" Naruko's eyes began darting around frantically, so as to try and see what had gone wrong. "This isn't supposed to happen!"
Zach could be heard signing audibly from the other side.
Worm rubbed her face, swearing under her breath.
"But why? I worked before! I should be back in the Hidden Leaf by now!" A frantic Naruko paced around.
Worm stopped her by simply putting a hand on her back. "Naruko, calm down. Maybe… it's stress or something like that."
"But-" Naruko started.
"Miss Uzumaki, I'm afraid none of us are able to help." The commander told her. "If you tag along with Natsu, maybe you'll be able to make it work later. But for now, we need to find out what happened to the Ishimura and get out of here."
Naruko opened her mouth but snapped it closed, there was no sense in arguing now. So she gulped nervously. "I-I understand."
"Stay safe, the both of you." Kendra ordered.
Right before Zach cut the feed.
Worm made sure her attache staff was secure on her back and brought up her map, before beckoning Naruko over. "Alright," she spoke in a low volume. "The tram is closest to where we are right now so we'll deal with that first before traveling to the maintenance bay to find the data board. Keep close to me, okay?"
Naruko's response was a nervous nod.
With that, the pair moved through the door and back into the tunnels. The lights were at low power, giving the tunnel a low illumination. They went down the tunnel to the left before following it to the right.
Both of them froze.
Laying on the ground as another Magia.
"I think it's dead." Naruko whispered.
Then the monster sprung up as another Berotha Magia dropped down from the ceiling.
Let the battle begin!
Worm tapped the skittering hornet progrise keycard's button once. [SWARM!] She hit it a second time. [BEE'S ABILITY!] And then pushed it into the zero one driver's slot. [SWARMING TRUE IMPACT!] The wasp drone on her left lower leg and the hornet drone on her left upper back detached as the two monsters rushed forwards. She ran forwards and punched the first Magia in the face after ducking under and slash, throwing it backwards before the hornet drone blocked a slash from the second creature.
The second Berotha Magia swung its other blade at Worm's head only to be blocked by the hornet drone. Worm spun around and kicked the monster in the head with a roundhouse kick before jumping back as it swung its arm down at her. She punched forwards and the wasp drone shot forwards, slamming into the Berotha Magia's face. The blade cut into it and threw it back through the air.
Worm jumped into the air and spun, causing the first Berotha Magia to miss as it swung its right hand through the air where she had just been. Worm landed with both of her hands on its shoulders while she was in a handstand before the bee drones on both of her hips fired, sending her knees shooting down and into the monster's head, driving it down into the floor.
Worm hit the skittering hornet progrise keycard's button twice with her right thumb. [SWARM!] [BEE'S ABILITY!] She pulled the keycard out of the zero one driver's slot and flipped it closed before holding it in front of the scanner. [BIT RISE!] She took the progrise keycard away and then scanned it again. [BYTE RISE!] Worm repeated the process four more times. [KILO RISE!] [MEGA RISE!] [GIGA RISE!] [TERRA RISE!] She opened the skittering hornet progrise keycard and slammed it back into the zero one driver's slot. [SWARMING TERRA TRUE IMPACT!] "INSECT NET!" Worm's body was coated in bright-brown light before she crossed her arms and threw them out to the sides. All of the drones detached from her body as the first Berotha Magia ran at her. The bee drones each fired a continuous beam of bright-brown energy that formed a net in front of the monster. Its main body passed through the net but its limbs were sliced off by the beams. The wasp drones shot down, slamming through the monster's back, causing it to explode as the hornet drones came together, blocking a slash from the second Berotha Magia. [SWARMING TERRA TRUE IMPACT!]
Worm spun around as the hornet drones parted, hitting the monster in the face with a spinning kick before she leapt and drop kicked it in the stomach with both boots. It stumbled back before its blades shone with dark-green light and it slashed down twice with both blades, launching four crescents at the Kamen Rider. Worm pointed her right hand forwards and the four bee drones lined up with two on either side of her.
They each fired a dark-brown energy bolt, the bolts slammed into the crescents and caused them to shatter. Worm pulled the attache staff off of her backplate and ran forwards. The monster brought its blades in in a scissors motion but was blocked by two of the honey drones, allowing the Kamen Rider to thrust the spear end of her weapon into the monster's right eye, making it scream in pain. She pulled back her staff as the three wasp drones swung from left to right, cutting into the Magia.
It slashed down from left to right with its left blade, slashing a line through Worm's armor, making her grunt in pain. She brought her right leg up and kicked the monster in the stomach, forcing it backwards before she swung the scythe part of her staff down. The Berotha Magia crossed its arms above its head, blocking the attack but one of the bee drones blasted it in the back. Worm used the distraction to force her weapon down through its block and slam the scythe blade into its head.
The monster roared and punched her in the stomach, forcing Worm to let go of her weapon and stumble back before it pulled the attache staff out and threw it away like trash. The Berotha Magia jumped at the Kamen Rider, swinging both of its arm blades towards her neck, only to be blocked by all of the hornet drones. They moved aside, allowing two of the wasp drone to shot through the gap and pierce through its shoulders, throwing it backwards!
One of the hornet drones grabbed the attache staff and brought it back to Worm before all of the drones reattached to her. She grabbed the staff as the drone let it go and pulled the skittering hornet progrise keycard from the zero one driver before flipping it closed. She twisted the ring on the spear side of her staff's grip, causing the cover to slide off the hole. Then she slammed the keycard into the slot. [PROGRISE KEYCARD CONFIRMED!] Worm twisted the ring back and the slot's cover moved back into position. [READY TO UTILIZE: BEE'S ABILITY!] She twisted the ring that was on the spear side of the grip half a turn. [CHARGE RISE!] Worm twisted the ring so it had done a full turn. [CHARGE!] The Kamen Rider let go of the run and it snapped back, undoing its turn. [FULL CHARGE!] The Berotha Magia got up and threw its arms up as they were covered in dark-green light before she swung them, firing a pair of spinning rings that merged so they looked like a pair of X's. Worm pulled back her weapon as dark-brown light surged over the scythe end and tapped the progrise keycard cover that doubled as a trigger.

The scythe part of the weapon surged with dark-brown light that formed into a centipede construct. She pulled her weapon back and swung it to the left, the construct lashed around, knocking the energy ring off course and slamming it into the side of the tunnel, shattering it. "CENTIPEDE ARC! Worm swung her staff down and the construct shot along the floor before rearing up and wrapping around the monster, trapping its arms to its sides. The Berotha Magia struggled but was quickly crushed. [SKITTERING ATTACHE SCYTHE!]
Worm twisted the attache staff's spear side, causing the cover to move away. She grabbed the skittering hornet progrise keycard from the staff's hole and twisted the ring back, making the cover move to cover the hole. She flipped the keycard open and placed it back into her driver's slot.
Battle ended!
To be continued!
