Chapter 3
A New Beginning
You woke up the next morning with a bright smile on your face as you remembered the details of the night before. You were dating Crosshair, that was something you never thought would happen. You had a crush on the man for so long. You had felt an immediate attraction to him when you first met him and it only grew as you got to know him more and more. You couldn't believe that he actually felt the same.
You got up, got dressed, and went to make breakfast for the guys. You had just plated the eggs when you felt someone wrap their arms around you. You smiled at the greeting. "Good morning Kitten." You heard him say in a low tone next to your ear. Laying a delicate kiss on your neck. You bit back the gasp that tried to escape you as he did so. "What is all of this?" He asked, looking over the food you were making. You shrugged leaning against him.
"Just making breakfast." You felt him smile against your neck.
"How did we get so lucky to have you?" Your smile widened at his words. Crosshair was always sweet with you, but this was new, the affection, the blatant compliments. It was all new and all so welcome.
"I don't know what you did to deserve me." You teased as you continued cooking. Crosshair let you go, but stayed close to continue watching.
"Where did you learn to do all of this?" Crosshair asked curiously as you expertly flipped pancakes and mixed batter for scones. You didn't look up as you responded.
"My mother taught me. She always said it would be good to know a partner one day." Crosshair smirked at your words.
"It sure doesn't hurt." He kissed your cheek causing you to blush. He smirked as he leaned back to watch you.
"Are you flustered?" He teased. You rolled your eyes.
"Now why would I be flustered?" You asked. Crosshair rolled his eyes at your question.
"Because you clearly like it when I'm affectionate with you." He stated.
"I don't know what you're talking about." You feigned ignorant. As if to prove his point he stepped up behind you again squeezing your hips. You successfully ignored him up until he kissed your ear. You couldn't help the small gasp that slipped past your lips. He smirked hearing the beautiful noise come from you.
"Are you still going to try to deny it? We both know you're lying." He said quietly into your ear. Only causing the goosebumps on your arms to become more intense. You didn't say anything, too distracted. His smirk widened at your silence. "I've never seen you stunned before. Do I really have that much of an effect on you?" You bit your lip trying to maintain control of yourself. Crosshair's smile became more intrigued at your reaction. "Kitten are you…aroused?" Your cheeks got redder than Crosshair had ever seen them. He chuckled at your response before stepping away. "Ok ok I'll stop, even if I don't really want to." He waited to see your reaction, watching you stiffen at his words. Your eyes widened at his words. You sauntered over slowly pulling him into a passionate kiss.
He chuckled against your mouth. He pulled away after a moment knowing his brothers would be out any minute. "Soon darling, soon. I promise." You whined as he pulled away, which almost made him lose his control then and there. He gently ran his thumb over your cheek, a rare soft look in his eyes. "Soon." He whispered to you.
You rested your forehead against his, taking deep breaths to calm yourself down. "Tease." You muttered before going back to cooking. Crosshair laughed at your words.
"Maybe." He admitted as he continued to watch you cook.
"There's coffee over there if you want any." You said, not looking away from the food. Crosshair went over to begin making the two of you cups. He knew you were so focussed on getting breakfast ready for them you most likely hadn't even made yourself a cup of coffee yet. You smiled as he placed the cup in front of you. "Thanks." You muttered. You and Crosshair settled into a peaceful silence with you cooking and him watching, You both looked up hearing footsteps coming down the hall.
"Morning" Echo spoke tiredly.
"Morning!" You smiled at him as you finished plating food and set it on the table in front of him. Echo's eyes widened at the food.
"Wow! What's the special occasion?" You shrugged.
"Just thought I'd do something nice." You spoke distractedly as you continued to grab food. Echo looked confused at you and then at Crosshair.
"Do you get a delicious breakfast every morning now that you and Crosshair are dating?" You chuckled at Echo's comment, while Crosshair rolled his eyes annoyed.
"Maybe." You said before continuing to grab items to set on the table. Crosshair's eyes followed you as you fiddled in the kitchen. His gaze softened at your words. Maybe…was this just how you were in a relationship? He wouldn't complain. It was nice seeing you so domestic, taking care of everyone. Him getting to claim you as his. Though, Crosshair knew none of his brothers felt that way about you.
The others soon made their way into the kitchen. Everyone paused at all the food on the table. "Since when do we get warm breakfast?" Hunter asked confused.
"Did you make this Y/N?" Wrecker asked excitedly. You chuckled athe confusion and excitement.
"Yeah I did Wrecker. And to answer your question Hunter, I just thought I would do something nice for you guys. You're welcome." You said smiling at you put the last of the food on the table. Hunter watched you closely as if looking for something you were hiding.
"I didn't poison it if that's what you're thinking." You teased. Hunter chuckled at your response, stopping his analyzing of you. Much to your surprise Crosshair sat down next to you and put his arm around you. You smiled at his actions as did his brothers. Nobody commented on it though, knowing it would only embarrass Crosshair, plus they liked the way he was with you. Crosshair watched you closely, noting how little you put on your own plate. Compared to his brothers your portion was nothing. He didn't understand why, there was plenty of food so you weren't doing this to make sure that his brothers had enough food. Looking away from you and to his most perceptive brother he saw Hunter also subtly watching you. You were either pretending they weren't watching you or you didn't notice. Either way neither man wanted to bring attention to this in front of the others. You smiled at Crosshair noticing him watching you, he returned your smile, covering up his concern. He would just let today be nice and if he saw this continuing he would talk about you then. He would be lying if he said he wasn't worried.
