Chapter 3: Surprise
Minato was in his living room as he was sitting across the group of people that he felt needed to know about the current situation.
Hiruzen
Jiraiya
Kushina
Kakashi
Hiruzen and Jiraiya had the right to know about Tsunade's pregnancy as they were her sensei and teammate, respectively. They would be concerned about her if they heard about her being in the village and soon realize she was pregnant, which would cause an interrogation from them.
Kakashi was someone that Minato wanted to know as he would be someone that he could trust in protecting Tsuande if he wasn't around and he should have something else to do other than his little smut book.
Kushina….. Minato felt the need to inform her as they were still good friends, and it felt wrong to keep this a secret, especially given their history. She could also be set up as a guard if there was ever a need. She was better at seals than he was, and with her being the jinchuriki, it made her a good guard for anything if the need called for it.
Each of the ones informed were staring at the two in shock as they could not believe what they heard.
Tsunade was sitting at Minato's left as she waited for any sort of reaction from them. She had her hand on his shoulder as a way to support him as they were both nervous about this. Normally, she would not care about their opinion, but this wasn't something she ever expected to happen to her.
Hiruzen was the first to come out of his shock as he brought a fist to his mouth and cleared his throat. "Well, this is quite the surprise-"
"That's a friggin understatement!" Came Kushina's exclamation as she brought her hands to her head, still trying to wrap her head around this. "Minato got Tsunade, the Tsunade, pregnant! What shooting star, tea stock, and aligned planets showed up to make this happen!?"
Jiraiya for up and moved over to minato before he brought his student to his feet and wrapped an arma round his shoulder. In as quiet a voice he could use, he asked. "Tell me, how soft were her melons? Are they as squishy as they look, or is there some firmness to them?"
Minato blushed as he remembered how it felt to have her breasts in his hands, feeling his fingers squish into the woman's flesh.
Jiraya saw the blush, and he smiled perversely. "Come on, Kid, tell me the details. I could use what you tell me in my next book."
Behind the two men was a dark silhouette that had glowing yellow eyes and the sound of knuckles cracking.
Before either of the two men could do anything, a hand grabbed the top of Jiraiya's head and lifted him up off the ground.
Minato looked over his shoulder to see the pure fury of Tsunade as her fingers began to dig into his sensei's skull.
"Mind repeating what it was you asked Minato, or should I dissect your brain to find it out myself?" The aura she was giving off could kill a lesser being, but thankfully, it was focused on one man, who could handle….a portion of it.
"Hime! I was only asking him about….argh! Easy, Hime, easy! *crack* ARGH, that's not easy…." his voice squeaked the last part as she began to squeeze harder.
"Oh? So you weren't planning on using what he said to put into your new book?"
crack~!* Jiraiya was now flailing his legs as he could feel the crushing pressure on his very brain as his skull was getting smaller.
Minato wanted to help his sensei, but out of the two sannin, he knew that Tsunade had more power at the moment. He was suddenly given a one-armed hug as Kushina came up next to him.
"Congrats, Minato. Finding out you're gonna be a dad must have shot you through the roof."
He chuckled at her bright attitude and nodded. "Yeah, I won't deny that hearing about this was something of a happy moment for me, but I can say it was unexpected."
Kushina beamed at him. "I'll say, who would have thought that you would have gotten with the most pined-for kunoichi in Konoha. Even I don't stack up to her."
Minato blushed at her words before looking away. "I suppose." He was about to ask her something, but was interrupted when he heard a hard crash and looked up to see Jiraiya was now implanted into the ground with Tsunade shoving his head deeper into the ground.
Shizune grew worried and ran up to Tsunade. "Lady Tsunade, I know you have a reason to be angry, but please calm down! Don't forget what your anger could do."
Instantly, Tsunade looked at her apprentice and calmed down. In a calm voice, she responded. "You're right, Shizune. I need to keep my anger in check."
Despite her saying this in a calm tone, her hand was still forcing Jiraiya into the ground.
Hiruzen cleared his throat and walked up to his students. "Perhaps we should discuss what our next move should be. I feel that Minato had a reason to let us know about this turn of events."
Minato nodded as he took a step forward. He watched as Tsunade let his sensei go and smiled at her letting him go. Seeing her return the smile, he looked at the rest of the group as Jiraiya was able to pick himself up. "There is a reason I called you here. Out of everyone in the village, you four are the ones I trust the most in this village, and I would like to ask you all a favor."
Kushina's eyes shifted from him to the female sannin before she spoke up. "You want us to be her guard during her pregnancy."
Kakashi's eye looked at the two blondes before focusing on Tsunade. "If that is what you want us to do, I don't see a problem with it. But would she really need protection? Her skills alone make it extremely difficult for anyone to cause her harm. Not to mention that, if I am right about this, she will be staying in the village for the foreseeable future. What threat could there be while within these walls?"
Shizune explained the backlash that anger could do to pregnant women, making the men understand why it would be bad if Tsunade's anger continued.
Kakashi nodded as he now understood that during a fight, emotions ran wild, and with how Tsunade was known for being an aggressive fighter, keeping her safe was more understandable. "Well, with all that, if sensei wants me to defend her, I can spare some of my time."
Kushina put her hands on her hips as she nodded. "I've still got missions I gotta go on, but since I am already set to be his bodyguard, I'll shift my attention to Tsuande."
Hiruzen nodded. "I am retired but if there is anything I can aid you in, I will do it, especially for my student."
Jiraiya shrugged. "You could have just asked me simply, and I would have agreed."
Minato felt grateful that the others were willing to help him protect Tsunade in their time of need.
Jiraiya then broke out in a big smile as he wrapped his student and teammate into his arms. "Well, enough of this serious stuff. We just found out that these two got together and are gonna have a kid. It's time to celebrate!"
Hiruzen let out a sigh at his student's antics, but he was happy for how one of his students seemed to have gotten through her previous animosity toward the village, maybe not to a great degree, but she was here and willing to stay for the baby. "Let us not overdo it. Remember, she is with child."
~ later~
Minato was standing outside, looking up at the night sky as Kakashi and Hiruzen were talking to Tsuande and Shizune, who were telling them about their travels.
"You really shouldn't have that solemn look on your face, kid. You should be smiling."
Minato turned around to see Jiraiya and Kushina walking up to him. "Well, it's not like I was moping around."
Kushina smiled as she moved to stand next to him. She looked up at the moon as she spoke. "You better not. It isn't anything like how I remember you to be."
Minato nodded. "Yeah." He looked up at the sky with her as he felt his sensei move to stand to his right. He frowned as he turned to him. "Sensei, I-"
"Aw, save it, kid." Jiraiya turned to face Minato with a solemn smile. "If there's one thing I know for sure about life, it's that no matter how hard you try, there are gonna be things that just happen without us knowing, and we just gotta accept it." He placed a hand on Minato's shoulder, giving him a look void of any of the goofiness he was known for. "I know you didn't mean for this to happen and there is no way that you did this to get back at me. So you don't have to think that you need to ask me for forgiveness."
Minato nodded as he felt guilty for taking Tsunade. He knew that his sensei loved the woman and had done what he could to have won her over. Jiraya just never got her to turn his way. And yet, one night at the bar and he had gotten with her. He felt relieved that his sensei didn't hold it against him, but he did partially wish that Jiraiya had gotten his happiness.
"Well, I would have put it in a simpler way but that works."
Minato looked to Kushina and he felt the most guilty about her. He still cared for her, but with how apart they were, he didn't know how she felt about this whole thing.
Kushina gave him a soft smile, one that seemed more genuine than what Jiraiya had given. "Minato, we both had ideas of how we would have proceeded in our lives. We even talked about what we would do if we actually made it far, but…. We just never made it. It isn't the end of the world, and I would be lying if I didn't say that I wish we could have made it work, but we both just went our separate ways. We may not be together anymore, but I am still your friend, and I will be there when you need me. So don't let me be part of what holds you back-" she then smirked as she slapped his back. "Or I am gonna kick you towards Tsunade so she can rewrite your brain so you will stop being an idiot."
The three laughed at her words with Minato feeling grateful for having these two in his life. And she was right, he had a chance to actually be happy, and he should stick to it.
Minato paused as he looked at Jiraiya. "Can she do that?"
The three laughed once more, willing to put things aside and move on with this new chapter.
~timeskip~
"What about 'Keigo'?" Came Shizune's voice as she was sitting at the wooden table, and a piece of paper in front of her.
Tsunade was sitting on the couch as she pursed her lips, thinking about the name for a moment. "That could work, but I'm not sure. Put it in the maybe list." She looked down as her hand rubbed her enlarged belly.
She was now six months into her pregnancy, and she, along with all of her close friends, were awaiting the baby's arrival. Though, it was hard to point out who was more excited herself, or-
"Saito, Kaito, Kaigo….Yusuke? Or maybe Kazuharu. Hmm, but if it's a girl, we could go with Akane or Yuki. What about Sayako? Hmm, Kagura is good! We should put that one on the list, close to the top."
Tsunade looked up to see Minato pacing back and forth, a hand on his hip while the other was on his chin. She smiled as she watched him wracking his brain far more than when he was working in his office. She understood why he was acting as such as she was just as excited about it. And she had gotten used to him acting as such, as well as getting closer to him.
Throughout the months, every time they had free time, they would spend as much time together as they could. When they decided to see where this would go, they thought that it would be at a slower pace, but since Tsunade had begun to live with him, it got a lot easier, and they found themselves wanting each other's company. It led them to be together officially, though they kept it secret for several reasons, one of which was to keep the populace away from them. They knew that if the people knew, it would cause some unwanted attention. Whenever they were out on a date, they would just say that Minato was Tsunade's bodyguard on her outing.
Another reason was that they didn't want any of the debt collectors to find Tsunade. There have been a few close calls as some known debt collectors were registered in the village and they were looking for the woman. Tsunade never hated her gambling addiction more than now when she was in a very compromised state. She knew she was gonna hev to deal with some of them soon but that was for after she was not bloated and coudlnt fight back.
Right now, they were going over names that they would want to name their baby. The reason they are going over both male and female names is because they don't know what the gender is going to be. They would have been able to find out around the third month, but when Shizune was going to check, Tsunade stopped her, saying that maybe they didn't need to know. Though, after a second, she decided to let Shizune check the gender, but just as before, she stopped her apprentice just moments from getting the result. Tsunade's mood kept going back and forth about the topic before Minato said they could just leave it as a surprise. He himself wanted to know the gender, but Tsunade was nervous about it, so he went along with her final decision of just waiting for the due date.
Tsunade thought about what other name they could have for a female. "What about Kasumi?"
Minato heard the name and thought it would be a good one if they had a daughter. "That is better than any that I had. That should be at the top of the female names list." He actually liked the name but was still unsure about the male name. He jokingly thought about how the sannin were better than many shinobi in coming up with names as well as shinobi skills. It was this thought that reminded him of another name that he remembered another sannin to think of. He smiled before he ran out of the room. "I got an idea for what we could call our son!"
Tsunade raised an eyebrow before looking to Shizune for an answer. She saw her apprentice look just as confused as she was and they both looked back at the hallway that Minato ran off to.
In another room, Minato was scrounging through a box that had several items that he didn't have a place for or had to move out of the way when Tsunade moved in. "Now, where are - there you are." He pulled out a small red book and looked at the title. "Tales of the gutsy ninja." He stood up and began to walk back to the others as he opened the book and looked through the first few pages.
Tsunade saw Minato come back, reading a book and she wondered what it was that he was looking for. "What is that?"
Minato looked up to her as he answered. "It's a book that Jiraiya wrote a long time ago. I think he said it was his first book."
Tsunade felt her eye twitch as she asked. "And why are you looking through one of his books?"
Minato looked up and could see the telltale signs that she was irritated. Thinking about what the reason could be, he looked back at the book he had and figured she thought what he had was a smut book. He lifted the book to show its title. "Before you think I am using one of his more questionable books, this is actually the first book he wrote, an adventure story that has none of his later material. From what I remember, he said it didn't do very well, and it was a flop. I read it a long time ago and thought it was a good story. I remembered a name that he used for the main character, and maybe we could use that for a male name."
Tsunade calmed down at the explanation and leaned back in her seat. "What was the name of the character?"
Minato smiled at her, not getting angry at him before he turned the pages a few times. "...Naruto."
Shizune raised an eyebrow as she asked. "Fishcake?"
Minato chuckled as he looked at her. "I said the same thing to Jiraiya, but he told me it actually means: Maelstrom."
Tsunade thought about the name and she couldn't help but smile as it had a nice ring to it. "Naruto..." She looked down at her belly and rubbed it lovingly. "Yeah, that would be a nice name."
Minato smiled as he also liked the name. "We can put it at the top of the list for the males." Looking at the clock, he saw that it was late, and he figured it was time for them to head to bed. "We can continue this tomorrow. Right now, we should head to bed."
Tsunade rolled her eyes as she smiled at the man. "You do know that I am taking care of myself in all aspects, right?"
Minato nodded as he walked up to her and held out his hand. "That doesn't change how I want to take care of you."
Tsunade let out a fond sigh as she took his hand and allowed him to help her up. "Kushina is coming over tomorrow, right? We should let her know about the names list since she might have a few ideas."
Minato nodded. "Knowing her, she will have a list of her own." he began to escort Tsunade to the bedroom.
Shizune smiled as she watched the two leave. She put away her notebook that had the names they thought of before she began to walk towards her room.
Once Tsunade and Minato entered the bedroom, they moved over to the bed before getting in together.
Tsunade laid on her left side while Minato laid behind her. She felt him wrap his arms around her with his hands gently caressing her belly. "You ever think about us getting to this point?"
"No, but I am glad that we did. We are about to have a family, something we both wanted for a while." He gently held her closer as he asked. "How do you think it will turn out?"
Tsunade looked down at her stomach and thought about how she would want her baby to grow up. "Happy. That would how I want our baby to be."
Minato nodded. "Best way to grow up." He placed a butterfly kiss on the back of her neck before he twitched. "Looks like my clone was released for the day."
Tsunade chuckled as she placed her hands over his. "Is Hiruzen still mad at you for figuring out how to deal with the job easier?"
Minato nodded. "I remember how he was close to creating a hole in the wall with his head for not figuring out he could have at least made one clone to take over for him so he could potentially rest."
Tsunade chuckled as she remembered that day. "Well, he doesn't have to worry about that now. The job is yours, and you aren't going to give it up any time soon."
Minato nodded. "Haven't found anyone that is ready for the job yet, and it's too soon for me to retire."
"Yeah, well, you're gonna be busier once this baby arrives."
~Time skip~
"ARGH!"
Tsunade screamed out in pain as she was in the middle of giving birth to her baby as Shizune was the one delivering with Hiruzen's wife aiding. Minato was by her side as he was letting her crush the bones in his hand.
Which one of them was screaming?
Who knows?
Kushina stood at the corner as she was guarding the room from within while Kakahsi, Jiraiya, and Hiruzen were outside.
They were within a safehouse that was in one of the forests of the village. The reason for them delivering the baby here was for the same reason they kept the relation a secret. Once Tsunade was back at fighting strength and capable of handling herself, they would reveal everything and handle the backlash that came from it.
Shizune looked up at her sensei as the older woman screamed. "Ok, my lady, we already started, and you just need to push harder."
Tsunade glared at Shizune as she squeezed Minato's hand harder. "Shizune, I swear, if you tell me that again, I am going to use you as a test dummy for Katsuya! ARGHNN!"
Minato winced as he felt one of his finger bones start to move into another of his finger slots. "You're doing great, Tsunade, you just need to do this for a bit longER~!"
Tsunade crushed his hand harder and pulled him in. "I don't want to hear you speak! Next sound that comes out of you will be your last!"
Minato shut his mouth as he knew that Tsunade would follow up on her threat. He felt his hand be rearranged but kept silent.
Shizune ignored the threat that came from Tsunade as she had heard many women threaten anyone they could when they were giving birth. "Ok, Tsunade, you are almost there. I just need you to give me one last big push!"
Tsuande took in a breath as she readied herself to give one last push. "Get this baby OUT OF ME~!" With one final push, she felt some relief as it felt like she had finally done it. She let Minato's hand go and felt amused when she saw him hold his hand close to his chest. She wondered if she was finally finished and not just having a pain-induced hallucination. She got her answer when she heard the sound of a baby crying, and she looked over to see Biwako cut the cord and move the baby toward a water basin. She felt relieved that she was over that ordeal and wanted to hold her baby.
"Ok, Lady Tsunade, we aren't done yet."
Tsunade looked back down to where Shizune was and asked, tiredly. "What do you mean, Shizune?" She asked with a hint of dread in her voice as she wondered what her apprentice was getting at.
Shizune looked over the fabric that was covering her sensei and spoke. "It would seem that you aren't with one child but two. You're having twins."
Tsunade felt her heart drop as she had her relief ripped away from her.
Jiraiya looked at the door where the birth was taking place and listened for any more screaming. He had never heard Tsunade scream that much, even in the deadliest of fights, so the sound kinda unerved him. He linked at his sensei as he asked. "Do you suppose that she finished up?"
"WHAT!?"
Kakashi did a tiny jump back as he looked at the door. "I don't think so."
Hiruzen chuckled as he saw his student flinch at the sound of a woman giving birth. He had heard plenty of them so it didn't bother him as much.
"ARRRRRGHHHH!"
Though, he could also just have a well-built poker face.
After another strenuous time giving birth, Tsunade was finally finished and was holding one of the two bundles in her arms. She looked at the one she had in her arms with a tired but loving smile.
Minato was standing next to her as he held the second baby. He couldn't help but notice how tiny and fragile the baby seemed in his arms. But he loved the baby. Both of them. "Kasumi."
Tsunade chuckled tiredly as she looked at the man. "Liked the name I came up with, huh?"
Minato smiled at her as he nodded. "It's a good name."
Tsunade nodded as she accepted the name. She looked at the one in her arms as she thought about the name she had. "Naruto. If your father gets to name your sister, I get to name you, our son."
Minato chuckled at how they ended up using the name the other had come up with.
Shizune and Biwako smiled at the new family.
Biwako moved to the door and opened it up before sticking her head out. "You can come in now."
The men came in and saw the lovely sight.
Kakashi leaned in toward Kushina and asked. "How was it?"
Kushina looked at Kakashi and shook her head. "I gotta say, when Mikoto told me it hurts, I didn't think it would be this bad."
Kakashi nodded as he heard the screams. But looking at the smiles the two new parents had, he had to add. "But for them, it might be worth it."
Kushina nodded.
Jiraiya crossed his arms as he smiled at them. "Well, congratulations, you two. I'm happy for both of you, but I gotta know: what are their names?"
Tsunade looked up at her teammate and smiled brightly. "These are Kasumi and Naruto Senju."
Biwako nodded as she wrote down the final details for their birth certificates. "Naruto Senju…. Kasumi Senju….. October 10th."

I'm gonna be honest: I am really unsure about this chapter. I kinda feel like it was rushed, but I guess that has to do with how it time skips through the whole pregnancy. I originally wanted to have a bit of filler to be more in the pregnancy, but I could not think of anything to use, so I just went through it.
Might be doing these multi-time-skip sort of chapters again, but it would only be within this prologue arc
Kasumi is a name I had used for another fic of mine for Naruto's sister. I really liked the name so I used it.

Now, some IRL news that will affect my writing ability. Some issues have been coming up at the workplace and my workload has increased a lot. Not only that but current events have affected my job enough that my security is no longer as stable as it should be. A team was cut from the office and the team I am on has to do what the other team had to do. So now my overtime is coming more often and I have less time for myself.
Just letting you know where I am right now.
