Chapter Six – Zombie Apocalypse
Shadow The Hedgehog had done some very strange things, in his time, but killing an actual real-life Zombie, not a Zombot from the Metal Virus, had to rank up there, as one of the weirdest. Oh, and what a surprise, as the Ultimate Lifeform rolled his eyes, the Blue Blur was at the heart of it. Well, not exactly him, but his rather, overly powerful and very eccentric twin brother.
Sukko was a Doctor, with the power to Chaos Heal, or at least that was what he masqueraded it as. Truthfully, he was the galaxy's most powerful Sorcerer, and unfortunately, his Doctor's instinct to help people gotten the better of him, and he accidentally took his Magic a bit too far. The twins had been confronting a bully, in the heart of Robotropolis. He was a big, mean Elephant, named Nox, who had been terrorising the streets of the city. Him and his gang had been causing havoc, stealing, looting, causing widespread damage.
Eventually, they were cornered, as the final confrontation ended with a massive shootout, between themselves and and the police, the twins caught right in the middle of it. Thankfully, with Sonic able to dodge bullets, and Sukko able to stop them dead with his Telekinesis, they were both fine, but no one else was.
All the police were injured, so Sukko healed them and sent them on their way. As for the Elephant as his gang, all the members were dead, but Nox was still breathing, just. Sukko healed, him, despite Sonic objecting, but in the end the Blue Blur knew, helping was for the best, even if he was a bad guy.
Unfortunately, the Elephant dies as Sukko was healing him, but the mighty Sorcerer doesn't notice and he accidentally raises him from the dead, as suddenly, the body gets up entirely on it's own. Sonic panicked.
"Sukko, what did you do?" He squealed. But the Sorcerer gulped, looking down at his hands, in awe of his own abilities. Quickly, he snaps out of it, stammering hard.
"I swear, didn't mean to." He sniffed, as both of the twins flee. But soon, they quickly stop, as they had both left the lumbering Elephant, in the dust, as he very slowly wallowed towards them, his arms dragging by his sides, with the planet's, most vacant expression on his face. Both the twins suddenly giggled as the Sorcerer just downright swore. But Sonic, however, just cheered.
"Yay, Sukko made a Zombie." He grinned, as he was immediately all over it, pocking and prodding the Elephant like crazy, as his twin brother just face palmed, going absolutely scarlet, mortally embarrassed. But he heaved at his twin.
"But Sonikku, we can't keep him." He sighed, as his child-like brother, just completely ignored him, and was now throwing random things at the Elephant. He groaned at his twin, in annoyance.
"Oh, come on, Sukko. I'm sure, it'll be fine. Certainly for a couple of days." He bounced. But Sukko growled, realising he wasn't going to win this. He gritted his teeth.
"Ok, fine. But the Zombie stays here, until I work out what we do with him." He ordered, of which Sonic finally agreed.
At first, the Zombie is fun to play with, as the twins messed about with him, but as the days went by, as the Elephant started to stink, as bits began falling off of him. Unfortunately, people were becoming curious, the twins realise they have to do something and now. Sonic grabbed his twin, near to, the now, rather disgusting, Elephant, and squealed in panic.
"What do we do?" He stammered. "How do we stop a Zombie?" He asked. Sukko growled, as he and his twin, just emptied pure hell on the creature, and absolutely nothing happened. Everything just bounced right off the Elephant, as he continued lumbering around the area, causing damaged, and groaning hard, and extremely loudly. Suddenly, he turned and began rampaging through the city. Gulping hard, the twins looked at each other, panicked, as Sukko, examined at his hands again, as he realised the truth. He swore and hard.
"The only way to permanently stop that Zombie, is to kill him again." He declared.
Sonic screamed, desperately shaking his head, and before Sukko could do or say anything, the Blue Blur sped off, right through the city, and out of Robotropolis, heading north, to find a certain someone, in pure panic.
It was late afternoon, by the time Sonic reached the outskirts of Westopolis, as it actually didn't take him long to get there, the other side of the planet, and without even thinking, he just crashed landed Tails' Houses, causing utter confusion.
"Shadow?" He roared, the tremoring on his voice, very clear to hear. Tails immediately ran for him, shaking his head.
"No, he's not here. Is everything alright?" He asked, somewhat worried, but the Blue Blur was still desperately shaking with fright, very much panicking.
"Oh, Chaos. I have to find him, it's an emergency." He hissed, but Amy, as her and Rouge joined them, just stared, frowning hard.
"An emergency? What kind?" She asked. For this to be said by the Blue Blur himself, was bizarre, and never been done before, but when Sonic rounded on Rouge, his temper flaring. Finally, she gulped, and hard.
"Er, ok. Shadow's on a mission for G.U.N., at the moment. But he should be done soon, and then heading back to the Team Dark's Hideout." She reported. Suddenly, Sonic sighed and then ran in, and deeply hugged Rouge, much to everyone's utter astonishment. He nodded, at all of them.
"Thank you." He heaved, before rapidly speeding out of the door, as Rouge called after him.
"But your not allowed at Team Dark's Hideout. Shadow will kill you, if he catches you there." She squealed. But Amy fumed.
"What was that all about?" She asked, but Tails just shrugged.
"I have no idea."
Sonic immediately beelines straight for the incredibly secluded hideout. Unfortunately, he had been banned from the Team Dark's hideout, on pain of death from the Ultimate Lifeform, mainly because he'd accidentally trashed the place, the last time he was there. Normally, the Blue Blur steered clear of it, but this really was an emergency, and he just didn't care.
It was nightfall, as Sonic finally sighted the illusive hideout, and as the Blue Blur rather noisily entered it's grounds, he was immediately pounced on, out of nowhere, by a very angry Ultimate Lifeform. He was indeed home. He smashed into Sonic, rather painfully, forced him to a halt, and roughing grabbing him by the scruff of his neck. Shadow used his incredible Super-Strength, to cleanly lift the Blue Blur off the ground. He roared in pure temper.
"I thought I ordered you to steer clear of this place." He blasted. He may have been now related to the Blue Blur, by marriage, but that didn't mean the Ultimate Lifeform had to put with him, and his stupid antics. Often, he just didn't, and only did, for the Sorcerer's sake. He could threaten what he wanted, so long as he didn't actually hurt the Blue Blur. Sonic had pushed it, too far, at Team Dark's hideout, and now, he, very much, wasn't welcome. But the Blue Blur just rounded on his brother-in-law, still outright panicking, as he spoke extremely fast, baring seeing Shadow in the darkness.
"Shads. Me and Sukko, we've seriously screwed up, and now we don't know what to do. Well, we do know what to do, but we're both enormous chickens in actually doing it. There was this massive gun fight in Robotropolis, which truthfully, was nothing new, but this enormous Elephant, Nox, whose, like, a bad guy, gets killed, along with his posey. But he doesn't actually die, so Sukko heals him. But then he does die, and my brother doesn't it know, and he accidentally raises the dead, and created an actual real-life Zombie. It was so cool, until he starting stinking and falling apart. Now he's ripping Robotropolis to pieces. We threw everything at it, nothing worked and now the only way to permanently stop the Zombie, is to kill him again. So, er, help." He begged, stammering hard.
Shadow outright stared at the Blue Hedgehog, unsure whether to laugh or gasp. In the end, he just growled.
"What?" He hissed, promptly letting go of the Blue Blur, as Sonic crashed to the ground. But his brother-in-law scrambled to his feet, and charged after him, as the Ultimate Lifeform rather angrily, stormed away. To say that Shadow didn't believe the Blue Blur was a understatement, and keeping this quiet, in and around Robotropolis was getting incredibly difficult, and Sukko was desperately struggling. Sonic grabbed the Black Hedgehog, by the arm. He squealed.
"Shads, please. I swear, I'm telling the truth. We really do need your help." He gulped. The Ultimate Lifeform just stared but before he could do or say anything, it landed on him literally. Out of sheer desperation, the mighty Sorcerer himself show up, orbing straight into grounds of Team Dark's hideout, following his brother's telepathic signal, with the very stinking, very rotting, Elephant Zombie. He screamed, struggling to maintain control of the creature.
Shadow gasped. Now, he believed.
Unfortunately, the Elephant Zombie was significantly stronger then he looked, as he broke free from Sukko's Telekinesis, and then proceed to grab the magical streamed, yanking hard, as he throw the Sorcerer high in the air, through the darkness, immune to his Magic. Sukko screamed, but Shadow ran for him, catching him before he hit the ground. He gasped, feeling the Sorcerer shake with fright in his arms, as he just hugged him. The Blue Blur himself wasn't doing much better. Even Sonic just bounced off the Zombie, left the creature unharmed, his attacks doing nothing. There were indeed, in this, well over their heads.
Suddenly, the Elephant Zombie just roared, groaning hard, and began wallowing hard, stomping across the grounds of the Team Dark's hideout. He was making a lot of noise. Shadow swore. He was well aware that G.U.N. didn't trust him, at all, and watched Team Dark's hideout, like a hawk, around the clock. Normally, it was a rather loud place, with Omega being there, and that massive robot banging around. But Shadow knew, the former Eggman Robot, wasn't in, at the moment, which meant all this extra sound and chaos would immediately catch the attention of G.U.N., meaning they'll be here within the hour.
Shadow had to deal with this, and fast, and get the twins, especially the Sorcerer, gone. If G.U.N. even caught sight or sound, of even a wisp, of Sukko's Magic, the Ultimate Lifeform knew, the entire family would be done for. This was far to close for comfort, as the twins just panicked. The Zombie began moving away from Shadow's home base, and towards civilisation, terrorising everyone, still awake.
Shadow growled, not entirely sure with to be outright gobsmacked, or to just laugh with the utter ridiculousness of it all. Regardless, the twins did have a point. Killing the Zombie again, was the only way to stop him. Shadow heaved, fine, not really having much of a choice, and that proved much more difficult, then he realised.
Shadow grabbed his guns, and fired multiple rounds at the creature. Unfortunately, bullets did nothing, and neither did shattering bones. Breaking necks normally kills, but not on Zombies. The Ultimate Lifeform growled, getting angry at the twins, as he rounded on them, as they huddled together behind him.
"You stupid idiots." He blasted, as they both just whimpered at him. Shadow heaved, seeing this, but just growled. "Promise me you'll vow, to never to this again." He hissed, as he grabbed the Blue Hedgehogs and hugged them. Seeing them this frightened, almost broke the Ultimate Lifeform, and yes, he was still at odds with the Blue Blur, seeing him this frightened, just shook Shadow up to the core, because of just how fundamentally wrong it was. The Hero shouldn't be that scared, ever. Eventually, the twins nodded, as the Ultimate Lifeform let them go and grabbed a nearby axe and decided if chopping limbs off, did anything. No, the Elephant Zombie just kept going, through the night, even with his head chopped off. In the end, Shadow just smirked, now it was getting rather funny, except the fact that the commotion was now drawing the attention of G.U.N. and the Mobian Authorities, as the trucks began arriving.
Panicking, he stared at Sukko, as he hid the Sorcerer out of sight, telling him to stay put, no Magic. Sukko nodded, looking back at him, biting his lip. Shadow gulped, as he stared at Sukko, then at his hands, and back at the Zombie. What did he do? Regardless, the Sorcerer looked terrified.
But seeing G.U.N. gave Shadow an idea, he ran for them, sneaking into one of their trucks. Unseen, he grabbed some explosives and placed on in each of the, still wriggling, chopped up parts, of the Elephant Zombie and without even a countdown, he blew that stinking creature to pieces. That stopped it, as all finally became still and calm. G.U.N. and the Mobian Authorities were taken by storm, as they finally rushed onto the grounds of Team Dark's hideout, having no idea what just happened, as Shadow, just grabbed the twins and ran for it.
Some distance away, the three Hedgehogs stopped and looked at each other. Then just howled with laughter. But regardless, both Sonic and Shadow rounded on the Sorcerer, as all the high emotions began to settle down. The Blue Blur hissed at his twin.
"Sukko, please, for Chaos sake, don't do that again." He desperately begged, indicating the raising of the dead, as Shadow nodding behind, agreeing wholeheartedly. But the Sorcerer just gulped and hard.
"I had no idea, until recently, that I even could. I'm so sorry." He whimpered, of which Sonic just cuddled him deeply. But Shadow heaved, rubbing his face, as he rounded on the Blue Blur.
"Sonic, get out of here, and take your brother home. I want to two of you, gone from this place." He hissed, taking charge. G.U.N. and the Mobian Authorities were still nearby, and to the Ultimate Lifeform a little to close to the twins, for his comfort. Sonic nodded, also aware of this.
"Sure, but what about you?" He stammered. But Shadow growled.
"I have this mess to clean up." He leered, indicating behind him, back towards the Zombie fight. "I'll just come up with some cock and bull story, to the people there, of how Team Dark's hideout got attacked." He heaved, as Sonic just intensely giggled, and even Sukko grinned. That was so stupid. Finally, Shadow allowed himself a smirk. "But seriously though, go. It's really, not safe for you here. Thankfully, G.U.N. and the Mobian Authorities have no idea of your involvement. They saw nothing through the darkness." He added.
Finally, the twins agreed, and holding hands, Sukko teleported them away, with a explosion of bright white orbs, and home. With the Blue Hedgehogs gone, and away from danger, the Ultimate Lifeform just relaxed. He swaggered his way back towards Team Dark's hideout, his home away from the Ark, and to his utterly bemused work comrades, including Rouge, whom had no idea what just happened, but were cleaning up anyway. His smirk just broadened, as he joined them.
Shadow never told them truth of what really happened that day. It was just too funny a story, to be believed.
