Chapter Nine – Shockwaves
But Bowser was fighting back, but against the Mobians incredible teamwork, he was desperately struggling. Mario and Luigi gulped. If they had jumped off the island like that, they'd both be killed, power-ups or not. Suddenly, they nodded to each other. They could still be useful, as they both grabbed a mushroom power-up from their pockets, swallowed it. The both of them took the Fire Flower, which turned their hat and dungarees white, and allowed them to control fire, and ran back towards the main court yard, and Bowser's throne room.
Magic was flying everywhere, both bright blue and dark fuchsia pink, as Kamek was actually holding his ground against the powerful Sorcerer. But as the brothers ran in, it was immediately obvious that Sukko was desperately trying not the rip the island to pieces, which he very easily could, whereas the Magikoopa just didn't care, and was using this to his advantage. Bowser's flying island, was covered in blackened lava, from the very active volcano on it. It was unstable at the best of times. Regardless, Mario realised that even though this fight was way out of their league, anything they could do to distract Kamek, giving Sukko the advantage, would be helpful.
Unfortunately, he, like everyone else, in the Mushroom Kingdom, normally despised and deeply distrusted Magic, but Mario now trusted the Sorcerer. There just was something about him. The look. He saw his brother in his eyes, despite of them being identical twins, and indeed, the same heart was there. The hero.
The brothers nodded to each other, and split up, running around the edges of the courtyard. Mario one way, Luigi the other, as they then proceed to throw bright yellow fire balls at the Magikoopa. He growled, easily dodging them, as he threw mighty, deep pink, power shots back at the brothers from his golden staff. Mario dodged his, but Luigi failed, but the Sorcerer intervened, running towards him, literally conjuring, out of thin air. He growled, concentrating hard. The Magic exploded, and he pushed it down to just one hand. An almighty ball of light appeared in his clawed fingers, which quickly expanded to fill his entire hand. Suddenly, he held it aloft and and it elongated into something long and thin, which was being materialised out of thin air. It solidified into a somewhat short, but incredibly ornate, silver lined, pale blue staff, with a stunning crystal on the end. A favourite of his. He used it as a baseball bat, to blast the power shot back to it's origin.
Kamek barely dodged it, as he just stared at the Sorcerer. He'd never seen such Magic, himself finding conjuring intensely difficult. But Sukko was getting angry at Magikoopa, and suddenly, he teeth gritted and charged up the staff's crystal, with huge amounts of Chaos Sorcery, in the form of bright white light. Suddenly, he let it rip, the staff ricocheting back in his arm, it sending an enormous super-concentrated bright white ball of pure Chaos Energy, across the courtyard, straight at Kamek. It barely missed the Magikoopa, but as he was quickly beginning to tire, and the Sorcerer, still going strong, he realised he wasn't going to win this fight, especially with Mario and Luigi backing him up.
He quickly looked through the distance, and saw that the island was dangerously hovering, now very close, the civilisation, and he smirked and hard. Everyone was off the island, this place was done for. He whistled for his broom, which immediately responded, as he performed a power incantation, all the while dodging attacks, and as his transport arrived, Kamek threw the golden staff on the ground, which just exploded.
Violently.
It threw Sukko, Mario and Luigi backwards, off their feet, and dangerous crippled the entire island. It immediately back breaking apart, plummeting to the ground, endangering lives. The Sorcerer roared with anger, as he just grabbed Mario and Luigi with his Telekinesis, him let out a enormous whistle of his own, and to the brothers's horror, Sukko sung them around himself, and then physically threw them off the island.
They screamed as they flew through the air, but the almighty sonic boom, of a certain Blue Blur, immediately told them they were going to be safe. It shook the whole kingdom, but suddenly, he wasn't alone as a second boom, indicating Shadow, beautifully skating in, and immediately the Hedgehogs went for the brothers, successfully catching them before they hit the ground. Sonic for Mario and Shadow for Luigi, and soon, they ran back to the others, as Bowser and the Koopa army were fleeing from the scene, as they all rushed after Kamek on his broom.
But as Sonic dropped off Mario, his temper just exploded, as he spied the Magikoopa in the distance. A deep purple aura began to surround him, as he eyes began to vanish, and his quills turn upwards. Kamek had been grating on him, ever since his arrival there. Magic was dangerous enough at the best of times, but seeing it being used for evil, was a big fat 'no' from the Blue Blur. He growled and hard
"Not today." He hissed, as his Super-Speed ignited before anyone could stop him. The Blue Blur was gone, smashing down barriers, as he surged after Kamek. The Magikoopa was playing dirty, and Sonic had had enough. Mach one. Boom. Mach Two. Bang. Mach Three. Crash. Mach four. Smash, and soon Sonic, was on the Hyper-blast barrier, at Mach Four point six. The resulting explosion ricocheted in all directions. An enormous vibrantly-rainbow coloured ring expanded out rapidly for several miles, from the point of the explosion's occurrence accompanied by a the biggest shockwave on record. It was extremely loud.
But the Blue Blur didn't stop as he just surged straight through it, with pure anger, to Mach Five point Two, and the Gold Ring Blast. Identically as explosive as the Hyper-Blast, the resulting shockwave is golden yellow and white. It shook the whole kingdom even more, as Sonic was now on top of the Magikoopa, who'd been desperately trying to get away. The Blue Blur rolled into a ball, and them proceed the literally smash every single drop of Magic out of the Magikoopa. Sonic hit him, causing him to flying through the air, with a deep dark fuchsia pink explosion. The Blue Blur could have, very easily, killed him, but that wasn't his intension. He wanted the Magic, not the Koopa. Kamek screamed, landing hard. The fall didn't kill him, but he quickly noticed, all of his powers was gone. Dust. Even his broom, now no longer worked.
Panting hard, he watched as the angry Hedgehog, screeched to a halt, breaking records in braking, in front of him. He growled hard.
"Get out!" He spat. Immediately, Kamek got to his feet, in pure fright, he ran after Bowser and his fellow Turtles who were all now fleeing the area. Sonic didn't bother running back, he just Chaos Controlled there. He didn't have a Chaos Emerald, but truthfully, he didn't need one. The powerful, white and pale blue singular teleport putting him right back with his friends, making them all jump. He growled and hard, as everyone stared. Tails gulped.
"Sonic?" He stammered, holding out his hands. But the Blue Blur didn't take it, his temper still flaring, the dark aura still present.
"Don't." He hissed, extremely coldly, now panting hard, as the surge of speed, finally caught up with him. But as he looked up, the desperate scene immediately broke his temper. Bowser's flying island, was breaking apart, sending lava from the volcano and rock, everywhere, and the only thing stopping everything from crashing to the ground, on to the people below, was his brother's almighty power. The whole falling island was shining with pale blue light from the Sorcerer's Telekinesis. Sonic squealed.
"Come on, Sukko." He encouraged, as he saw his incredible twin, using a combination of Super-Flight, and Telekinesis, to keep as much of the island in the sky. Below, there was already evacuations underway, but the island was still sinking and fast, despite the Sorcerer's best efforts.
Sukko screamed in excruciating pain. He couldn't keep this up much longer, and as he saw, out of the corner of his eye, his twin explode the Magic out of that Magikoopa, he gave the Sorcerer an idea. Maybe he could expand out his own Chaos Sorcery, and disintegrate this island. It was as good as dead anyway. Suddenly, growled hard, surging the Magic on himself, he gritted his teeth, as he began charging as much Chaos Sorcery as he could. Similar to Shadow charging before a Chaos Blast, he built up the energy extremely high and when the moment was right, he let go of the falling island with his telekinesis and let it loose. The expanding dome of pure Chaos Sorcery wiped out everything within the given blast radius. Targeting specificity Bowser's island, he destroyed it to dust, including every piece of falling rock and lava, with the results shockwaves huge. Within seconds, the whole island was gone. The city below, and the people were completely unscathed.
Everyone screamed, but Sonic just outright cheered.
"Yes, Sukko, yes." He beamed, and as soon as the extremely tired Sorcerer, finally landed on the ground, from his Super-Flight, after the dust settled, the Blue Blur immediately ran in for an almighty hug. Shadow, having picked up the staff, Sukko had conjured, and then dropped, he just sung it over his shoulder, himself also extremely proud of his Fiancé. But Mario just gasped as the residents of the Mushroom Kingdom, he looked at the twins in total awe. He gulped at the Ultimate Lifeform.
"They're incredible." He heaved, praising the twins hard. But Shadow just smirked and hard, as he rolled his eyes.
"That's normal." He hissed, to a utterly stunned Plumber. "Especially for those two. They do this on a semi-regular basis." He shrugged. "They make life very interesting. It's why I'm here." He added. But as the twins, finished embracing, they finally wondered over to join the others. Sukko yawned, stretching his back, hard.
"Oh, Chaos. I need tea." He hissed, randomly. There were several smiles all around as Tails just rounded on the Sorcerer. He growled.
"Uncle Sukko, what was that?" He blasted. But Sukko frowned, rubbing his eyes.
"What?" He wondered, as Sonic just giggled. But Tails growled.
"The explosion you took out Bowser's island with?" He grilled. "I didn't know you had that kind of power." He added. But Sukko just giggled.
"Oh, hell yeah. It's just a variation of a form of Disintegration cast, which comes from my Force-Fields technique. One I did years ago. But back then I used it to destroy robots, but leaving anything organic behind, intact. It doesn't work so well nowadays, as Eggman has finally cottoned to me and altered his designs. But to change the cast from metal, to blacken lava rock, was easy, so it wasn't that big of a deal." He explained, still groaning hard, with the tiredness. "I think I'll be adding it, to my 'Up Yours' arsenal." He grinned, to much laughter all around. Donkey Kong giggled intently, as he pointed to the Sorcerer.
"I like this one." He praised, immediately taking a real shine to the Blue Hedgehog. But Peach just smiled at the twins. Both of them looked tired, especially Sukko.
"Please stay a while. You need rest. I have tea, plenty to choose from, as well as a banquet." She asked, to immediate nodding. But as the group slowly wondered back through the Mushroom Kingdom, and Toad Town, towards Peach's beautifully white castle, Sukko, unfortunately, didn't last that long, as he passed out along the way. Shadow ran for him, but Donkey Kong caught him first, and insisted on carrying him the rest of the way back, which Sonic allowed. But the Blue Blur himself didn't last much longer, as he soon fell asleep on the Echidna's shoulder over food, in the castle afterwards.
With both the twins unconscious, Shadow insisted on watching over them, still clutching the staff. It seemed odd, but no one argued, until Knuckles cornered him. On the way back, the twins had been talking, as the Sorcerer had read the both Echidna's and the Ultimate Lifeform's mind, and knew what was going on between them. He agreed with Shadow, that Knuckles was trustworthy enough to know the truth. They had informed the Black Hedgehog, who then proceeded to, very quietly, tell the Echidna everything. He gasped in pure horror, and immediately understood why the twins were, the way they were.
He nodded, giving Shadow an ancient Echidnan Oath of Silence to never speak of this to anyone, which if broken, is a death penalty, and vowed to protect the twins. The Ultimate Lifeform heaved, easily believing that, as well as everything the Knuckles had just done, glad he was right that the red Echidna should be told.
But the Mobians didn't leave the Mushroom Kingdom immediately. They spend time there, exploring and making new friends, but it was a long while before the twins showed their faces. There was celebrations all around then they did. Sonic was first, followed close behind by Sukko, who unfortunately, vanished, rather quickly, much to the dismay of everyone. The Blue Blur heaved, throughly unsurprised at this, as he'd seen it coming. He heaved.
"Sorry, but Sukko doesn't like parties." He informed, which killed the mood, almost immediately. But Peach almost cried.
"I was hoping to spend some time with him." She sniffed. "Get to know the person who helped saved my kingdom." She added. But Sonic just smiled.
"You will, but give him time. Tone down the excitement, go about your day-to-day lives." He blinked. "Trust me, he'll come to you. Sukko is my polar opposite, my mirror image, the King of Stealth. He doesn't like fuss, and he doesn't show off. The only reason you saw him being so spectacular, is because he didn't have a choice. Quieten everything down, and he'll be back, I promise." He added. A few days later, as Peach insisted that all the parties be disbanded, the Mushroom Kingdom very quickly returned to normal, and yes, the Blue Blur was exactly right.
