I know this one doesn't have anything to do with the prompt. But I really wanted to post something for this day in particular. Today is my birthday, and since ShuAnn Week is the same week as that, I wanted to have something to post for it. Hope that's ok with everyone.
Begin!
~Normal POV
Akira counted the things in his bag over again to ensure he wasn't forgetting anything. He couldn't let it ruin his plan for today. He finished checking and nodded to himself, before pulling his bag over his shoulder and leaving LeBlanc.
He was on his way to Ann's house to spend the day with her. Yesterday had been a bad day for the Phantom Thieves. Makoto wanted to get some extra training in before their next big heist so they took a trip down to Mementos. Ann, however, hadn't realized she wasn't feeling well enough, and ended up collapsing after a tough fight. Thankfully, they were able to avoid getting into another fight on the way out, and Akira helped take her home.
He could tell she was more exhausted than usual when it happened, but she kept insisting she was ok. Ann was kinda stubborn like that sometimes. Now he was gonna make it up to his girlfriend by keeping her company while she recovered. He smiled to himself at the thought. It was sure to make her happy. And positive thinking can help one recover from illness faster sometimes.
When he arrived at her house, he was greeted by her caretaker. She was a kind, older woman. He'd met her once before. Ann's parents were often away on business, so she had a live-in caretaker to look after things. She told him where Ann's room was, and mentioned that she had some errands to run. She didn't mind leaving the two teens alone. Mainly because she knew Akira was Ann's boyfriend. (Ann seemed to really trust Akira, so he must be a good boy.)
Akira gently knocked on Ann's bedroom door. After a moment, he heard her softly reply, "Come in."
He opened the door. Ann was lying in bed with her arm covering her eyes. Her hair was down and a bit messy, but that made sense. She probably hadn't bothered getting out of bed at all today.
"Hey Ann," He greeted, smiling.
"Huh?" Ann looked over at him and smiled. "Oh, Akira, hey… What are you doing here?"
"I wanted to see you." Akira closed the door behind him and went to sit next to her on the bed. "How are you feeling?"
Ann carefully sat up a little against her pillow. "It's just a fever. But like… one that's kicking my ass. And all that fire I used yesterday didn't help. I think that's why I don't feel much better today."
"Oh yeah," He held her hand. "Did you know you were sick before it happened?"
"No, I felt fine during school, so I didn't think it was a big deal." She frowned, "Sorry for pushing myself too hard."
"I forgive you." Akira replied, warmly. "And I have some stuff for you." He opened up his bag and handed her some medicine. "I picked it up from Takemi on the way here. It should help a lot."
"Aww, thanks, I was running low," Ann said, smiling. She took a dose of it while he continued.
"And I brought some movies for us to watch, some light snacks, and a present-" He handed her a small teddy bear.
Ann's eyes lit up with joy. "Oh, thank you!" She hugged the soft toy. "You thought of everything, didn't you? I love a guy who thinks ahead."
Akira blushed. "Well, I try." He said, chuckling. "Which one do you wanna watch first?"
"Hm… that one."
He went to set up the movie on her dvd player. Once done, he laid down in bed next to her.
"Are you sure you wanna do that? What if I get you sick too?"
Akira shrugged dismissively. "It's fine as long as we don't kiss. Besides, I have a good immune system, and you need the extra warmth."
"Well, ok." Ann said smiling.
She leaned into him comfortably. He was right, the warmth was totally worth it. He cuddled her close, gently playing with her hair while they watched their movie. They spent the rest of the afternoon together. Just watching things, talking about anything that came to mind, and Akira making sure she was taking medicine at the right times. It was relaxing and nice for them. They hadn't been dating very long, and they were happy with any hangout they could get, so long as they were having fun. Ann seemed to have gotten back some of her energy too.
"Akira?"
"What is it?"
"Thanks for being here today. When I get sick, I usually feel kinda trapped in my room. But having you here makes it better." Ann stared up at him warmly. "I love you."
"I love you too, Ann. You know I'll always be here when you need me."
"Yeah, you told me so… on the roof, remember?"
"Mhm, you're stuck with me, forever. What a tragedy." Akira said, in a playful over dramatic tone.
Ann laughed. "I don't know, I think it kinda works out for me that way too. It means I get you all to myself whenever I want."
He smiled. "I like the sound of that."
Ann went back to lying in his arms feeling better than she had for all the previous night. She had someone she loved by her side. And he'd always be right there for her, whether it was fighting Shadows in the Metaverse, or simply holding her in bed while she was sick.
~The End!
Writing fanfics is important to me. It helps my mental health coming up with stories, no matter how long, and I want you to know that I do mean it when I say, "every read I get is important to me." I remember I wrote my first fanfic all the way back in 2010. Couldn't tell you what it was about, cause I don't have it anymore, but yeah I've been doing this a long ass time.
Thank you all so much for still reading my stories after all this time. :) It means a lot to me.
