Shadow hits some Badniks with homing attacks then bonuses on Springs as the Gwens follow. They soon approach a relic in White Space.
"Another one? Shadow, this is a bad idea." Gwen said, recalling his transformation.
"The only way to find his true plan is to do this." Shadow said.
"Okay, Mr. Wizard? How do you know that? Not like there's a connection." Classic Gwen asked.
"It's a feeling in me" Shadow said as it scans his body before absorbing a Doom Gear from him.
The gear activates the relic, which shatters and unleashes Black Arms energy. Shadow ends up absorbing the energy and contorts in pain.
"No... No!" he groaned.
He falls to the ground with a giant ink puddle on the floor as the tentacles of the Doom Surf start to what seems to be cover him before Shadow jumps up and reveals the Doom Surf. Shadow rides on the Doom Surf on water before he does a spin in the air.
"That is so cool!" Classic Gwen exclaimed in awe, her heart beating. "He's so cool!"
Gwen was concerned but they jump on.
"At least we can cross water more easily." Gwen said.
"Yeah! Sonic would love this!" Classic Gwen exclaimed.
"Don't compare me to the faker." Shadow said, annoyed at the mention of Sonic.
"What's your beef with Sonic?" Classic Gwen questioned. "Not like he broke the world?"
Shadow and Gwen look at each other, remembering the events of the Paradox Prism when Sonic broke their world.
Meanwhile, Sonic fixed Angel Island.
"Thanks for the help. Not that I needed it. Let's get payback on that monster." Knuckles said.
"Ha! Get in line, Knucklehead." Sonic grinned.
"Where's Gwen?" Knuckles asked, looking around as he didn't see the female hedgehog.
"Not sure. She's somewhere here with Shadow I'm guessing." Sonic answered.
"If she gets hurt, I'm punching Shadow really hard." Knuckles stated, concerned for Gwen and rushed off.
"Knuckles, wait! Only my speed can fix things." Sonic called.
Back to Shadow and the Gwens as they arrive at Kingdom Valley as Classic Gwen spin dashes around to keep up with Gwen and Shadow.
"What is this place?" Classic Gwen asked them.
"Not sure actually, but it feels fimilar." Shadow said as he hits a switch as they were grinding on water.
"COOL!" Classic Gwen gasped as they leaped off the waters and continue rushing around, collecting rings.
Shadow even had to surf around at one point with Gwen riding behind him. They soon made it to the exit, but suddenly a portal opens as the Gwens gasp as it sucks them in.
"NO!" Shadow yelled in terror. "DAMM YOU, BLACK DOOM!" he screamed angrily.
Gwen woke up in a room with a groan.
"Ow..."
"Gwen!" Sonic called, running up to her and hugged her. "You okay." he asked.
"Yep. All good." Gwen said before Sonic noticed Classic Sonic on the other side as they begin reflecting each other's poses.
The Gwens sighed at this and looked at each other, giving themselves the "My brother is an idiot" face.
"Take a good look at yourself Sonic and Gwen!" Eggman's voice said.
"Dr. Eggman?" Sonic and Gwen asked at the same time.
"It's the last thing you'll see in this world! Hoo hoo hoo!" Eggman laughed evilly.
Classic Sonic and Classic Gwen speed off.
"Another Sonic and Gwen! Wait a second!" Sonic called out.
"Seriously, you didn't realize he was smaller than you?" Gwen questioned.
They leap after their classic counterparts, but the door closed knocking them down.
"So where's Shadow?" Sonic asked.
"Not sure." Gwen said, feeling worried for him.
They exit and see the two Tails, Amy, and Knuckles bump into each other.
"You're me!" they all exclaimed in unison.
"Did I really wear that in the past?" Amy questioned as Classic Amy blushed, seeing Sonic while Classic Knuckles blushed, seeing Gwen.
"Aww! Little Knuckles is adorbale!" Gwen cooed before Knuckles hugged her.
"You're alright." Knuckles said in relief.
"Yeah. Good to see you." Amy said.
"Good to see you too." Gwen smiled, hugging Knuckles back.
Meanwhile, Shadow walks around looking down. He failed Maria, he couldn't afford to fail Gwen.
"Gwen?" Shadow called out.
Classic Sonic and Classic Gwen fight the Death Egg robot as it tries to stomp on them, but they rolled past him and revv up and spin dash him in the back, knocking him over.
"HA!" Classic Gwen laughed.
They repeated the process before entering a room. Classic Gwen noticed bombs and gets a idea.
"Make him hit the bombs." she said as Classic Sonic nodded as they split up.
"Nya, nya nya nya!" Classic Gwen mocked, rolling her eye lids and pulling her mouth open with two fingers and sticking out her tongue, moving it left and right as the robot growled in anger.
"You brat!" Classic Eggman yelled as he tried to punch her but she dodged it as he punched a bomb instead, getting it stuck as she spin dashed on it and hit the head.
Classic Sonic gets his attention by doing a few box art poses from the 90s as Classic Eggman tries punching him but he speeds out of the way as he hit the bomb.
Then Classic Sonic spin dashed into his head then Classic Gwen slashed the back, causing an explosion. The two smirk and strike a pose getting a S tier, but the Death Egg Robot collasped as Classic Eggman coughed.
"Big whoop! We know you're behind this!" Classic Gwen said as the time eater came up and scooped him away.
"Sonic, Gwen help me!" he screamed, trying to run but gets dragged into a portal as the siblings look at each other.
"Big whoop." Classic Gwen repeated and fist bumped her brother.
They soon walk out to see the others.
"Couldn't have done it better myself." Sonic said.
"Thanks." Classic Gwen smiled.
"Tails, wanna explain what's going on now that little Gwen and Sonic are back?" Amy asked, giving her classic counterpart a piggyback ride.
"Yeah, this comfirms it, doubles of us." Tails explained.
"Enemies from our past. " Classic Tails added.
"We're travelling though time and space, Sonics" The Tails finished in unison.
"Without the time stones, how'd this happen?" Sonic asked.
"Gee, I don't know. Maybe a space time monster." The Gwens said in unison.
"Wow. Little Gwen looks cute." Knuckles commented, blushing a bit.
"Yep." Classic Knuckles agreed, gazing lovingly at Classic Gwen.
"Guys, the Time Eater is still around, not to mention Black Doom." Gwen warned grimly.
"Black Doom?!" Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy shouted in shock.
"Who's that?" Classic Tails asked.
"A big bad guy in the future. Anyway, me and little me gotta go find Shadow. Bye!" Gwen explained as she and Classic Gwen speed off.
"Hey, wait! I don't trust this Shadow. Gwen will be safer with me." Classic Knuckles suggested.
"We gotta look for the Master Emerald. Come on, me." Knuckles said, knowing he trust Gwen with Shadow.
Classic Knuckles becomes disappointed and eventually nods.
"Um, what can we do?" Classic Amy asked.
"Just look around." Sonic suggested.
Suddenly, the time eater came.
"There it is!" Classic Tails shouted as the Knuckles leaps trying to punch it but it lifts a hand and snatches them and slams them down.
"Knuckles!" the heroes called and ran up to them.
The Time Eater soon flew into a portal, disappeared.
"Where'd it go?" Classic Tails asked.
"We need to track it down and fast!" Sonic said as the Knuckles coughed.
"Ow..." they groaned as the Sonics speed off.
The Knuckles gets up and heads to the Sky Sanctuary. The Amys look at each other with wonder.
Meanwhile, Shadow speeds though Kingdom Valley again smashing into robots left and right in anger. His dark energy was swirling as he preformed the Doom Blast on the Black Arms but even longer. Once he's out and back into White Space, suddenly the Gwens came and hugged him, surprising him.
"Gw-Gwen?"
"It's okay. We're okay, we're okay." Gwen assured him, stroking his quills.
Shadow slowly hugs them back, feeling relieved to have them back. They soon walk out and came across Big the Cat.
"Big?!" Gwen asked in shock.
"Uh. Hello. Hi, Gwen." Big greeted with a wave. "Your name's Shadow, isn't it? Have you guys seen my good buddy, Froggy?"
Shadow puts his hand on his hip and gives a slight smile. Gwen notices that and smiles.
"Um, who is that?" Classic Gwen asked.
"Big the Cat." Gwen said.
Later, they do challenge acts pretty quickly.
"So, do we ever fix the super emeralds? I think we broke 'em." Classic Gwen asked.
"Super emeralds?" Shadow asked, confused.
"Even more powerful versions of the Chaos Emeralds." Gwen explained.
"Interesting." Shadow said, thoughtfully.
Classic Gwen suddenly groaned in pain, holding her head as Gwen held her head as well feeling pain.
"Join the Black Arms..."Black Doom's voice said as Shadow recognized this and hugged Gwen.
"You can fight it!" he exclaimed.
Classic Gwen was being engulfed in a black aura and screams, holding her head.
"Do it for me, please!" Shadow pleaded as the Gwens power out and Classic Gwen fell out cold as it affected her mentally.
"What happened?" Gwen asked, shaking her head.
"Black Doom tried to mind control you again." Shadow said, looking down.
He spots sunset heights and looks at the downed Gwens.
"I'll explore. You watch your younger counterpart." Shadow said but Gwen lifted Classic Gwen up.
"No way. We stick together, no matter what." Gwen said, staying loyal.
Classic Gwen wakes up with an angry look.
"I've never said this, but I want to kill him." she growled and sped into sunset heights as Shadow and Gwen followed, boosting ahead.
Classic Gwen skates after them as they explore the area and sees Giant Egg Robots.
"What the?" Gwen asked.
Shadow leaps and skids on one of the arms as the Gwens does the same.
"We've never seen this before!" Gwen yelled as they dodged a big laser.
"Hot!" Classic Gwen yelped, nearly getting burned.
Then they went underground as Gwen takes the lead and used homing attacks on some egg robo troops.
"These are new. Like we're in the future." Gwen commented. "A horrible one."
They boost around before Gwen's body shook and she hears Black Doom's voice again.
"Ha ha ha! Just give in! Once Shadow fixes the 5th relic, you will serve me!"
"Shut up!" Gwen yelled as Shadow grabbed the Gwens and used Chaos Snap, avoiding the debris.
They soon start bouncing off the debris as they said nothing.
"Shadow... So you've obtained a new power." Black Doom said as the trio grind rail.
"One more method I'll use to destroy you." Shadow said with a promise as he and the Gwens bounced off the springs.
They soon enter some tube like structure.
"So you say. But this realm bends to my wi-" Black Doom started.
"Shut up!" Gwen yelled again, cutting him off.
"Anything goes it seems." Shadow said as they rush though it, leaping over spikes.
"You think this will stop us?" Gwen asked.
"You're doomed wrong." Classic Gwen added with a pun.
They enter another tube of buildings.
"Shadow, your evolution is a sight to behold." Black Doom continued.
"Can someone put this horror movie guy on mute?" Classic Gwen joked.
They dodge some more spikes and even grind on rails.
"You've come along quite nicely... slaves" Black Doom said. "Gwen, you may make a nice vessel~"
Shadow uses Choas Spears and attacks the eye and got a gear.
"All is going, according to plan." Black Doom says as Shadow and the Gwens look at each other concerned.
They soon get out.
"Let's move." Shadow said.
Shadow is skating across White Space away from Sunset Heights. Suddenly, they hearsomeone cry out and stop. The girlis running from three Black Warriors.
"No way... is that?" Gwen asked in shock.
They begin running towards them with Shadow's Doom Powers active while Gwen's ruby glows along with her ice sword. The Black Warriors soon corner the girl, and she shouts in terror and cowers.
Shadow uses Chaos Snap to teleport to one of the Warriors and uses Doom Blast on it, launching it against the wall and disintegrating it. Classic Gwen spin dashes into one of the Warriors against the ground, disintegrating it. Gwen slashes the last of the Warriors in half, freezing it before destroying it into bits.
The girl turns and looks at Shadow. His eyes widen in shock and gasped.
"Maria?"
"Shadow!" Maria said and embraced him happily.
The Gwens gasp in shock. Gerald runs up to them.
"Maria! Thank you, Shadow." Gerald said in relief.
Suddenly, Classic Gwen leaps and trips Gerald, causing him to fall as she points a katana at him.
"Okay, Robuttink. Give it up! What's your evil plan?" Classic Gwen demanded. "And what's with this dumb old man look?"
"Gwen, no! That's the professor." Shadow said, trying to stop her.
"Grandpa!" Maria gasped, worried.
"Little me, stop!" Gwen shouted, protecting Gerald by standing in front of Classic Gwen.
"He's a Robotink." Classic Gwen pointed out.
"He's not evil!" Shadow said firmly, grabbing her wrist.
"Let me go." Classic Gwen ordered.
"Um... Shadow?" Maria asked.
"Right.." Shadow said and blushed.
"Shadow, are you blushing?" Maria giggled teasingly.
"Thi- this is um..." Shadow stammered, trying to introduce them.
"I'm Gwen. Gwen the Hedgehog." Gwen introduced herself, shaking Maria's hand.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Maria." Maria greeted with a smile.
Gwen turned to Gerald, helping him up as she smile apologetically.
"Sorry about my younger counterpart, Professor. I can't say much, but I'll just say your family name has caused a bit of issues."
"A bit?" Classic Gwen questioned before Shadow pulled the Gwens to a corner.
"They must be from a point in time before the ARK disaster... Gwen don't mention... that." Shadow said quietly as Gwen nodded in understanding.
"When did you learn to fight like that?" Maria asked.
He looks at the Black Moon.
"Perhaps I can change their fate." Shadow thought that last bit to himself.
"Shadow? You look grim. Are you alright?" Maria asked with worry.
Shadow turns to face Maria.
"I'll be fine. We'll all be fine. Find somewhere safe to hide. The Gwens and I'll take care of everything." he promised.
"You can count on us." Gwen added confidently.
"Shadow, when did you become so strong and confident?" Maria asked.
"It's a long story." Gwen answered for him
"I've deduced that we're in some temporal anomaly." Gerald pointed out. "Therefore I thought it'd be better to not interact with too many elements to prevent a paradox from occuring."
"Too late, buster." Classic Gwen scoffed and sped off.
"So Maria, what was it like on the Ark?" Gwen asked.
"It was fun. We had school there but... Shadow never turned in his homework and he seems to eat coffee beans." Maria explained, which Gwen giggled as the girls talk for some time as Shadow looked away, embrassed.
"So... I never thought you'd get a girlfriend." Gerald said.
"I know." Shadow said.
"Shadow and Gwen sitting on a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G~" Maria sanged with a giggle.
"L-Let's just go." Shadow suggested before he and Gwen sped off.
Gerald looks after them thoughtfully.
"Hmm..."
Meanwhile, Classic Sonic ran though ocean palace destroying some robots along the way as he spins off springs. Then Sonic had a turn going though ocean palace before then end up in speed highway, speeding around the place. Sonic even grabbed a helicopter at one point. The life to Cream was restored after that. She smiled and fist bumped Cheese.
"Thank you, Mr Sonic. I was so scared, but I tried to be brave." Cream said, appreciative.
"You did great, kiddo." Sonic grinned.
Back toShadow and the Gwens as they complete some challenges and get the boss keys to another big door.
"We're gonna fight someone really powerful. So Little me, I suggest you stay here." Gwen said.
"Okay. I'll go talk to Maria." Classic Gwen nodded and sped off.
As she looks for Maria, suddenly, the Black Arms surrounds her as she takes out her sword and was a bit nervous when the Amys comes in and hammers some of them as Classic Gwen slashes one of them with her katana.
"What were those?" Classic Amy asked.
"Black Arms." Amy said grimly. "Thank goodness we came when we did."
Classic Gwen groans in pain as her eyes was starting to glow.
"Must destroy... Shadow the Hedgehog."Classic Gwen muttered.
"Gwen?" Amy asked as she shook her.
Classic Gwen snapped out of the trance.
"Sorry... Look, I'll be fine. Just help Sonic collect the Emeralds." Classic Gwen said as the Amys nodded and ram off.
Just then, Black Doom's Eye appeared and laughed.
"Join me, and you'll feel so much powerful."
Classic Gwen sticks out her tongue.
"Never!"
"Soon you'll have no choice..."he said before laughing again as he looked into her eyes that begins to darken.
