Shadow and Gwen was surfing on the waters.
"This feels familiar..." Gwen said as they surf off a ramp until Metal Overloard flew by. "You've got to be kidding me." she deadpanned.
"WRAAAH!" Metal Overloard roared as Shadow surfed after him as Gwen held on.
"You can't hope to defeat me! Hand over Gwen, and accept your fate, you fake hedgehog!" Metal Overlord said as Shadow drifted, knocking debris back at him then jumped over the lasers. "I am now the true Sonic! The True Ultimate Lifeform!"
Shadow smacks some more debris onto him.
""True Ultimate Lifeform"? Don't make me laugh!" Shadow scoffed.
"You're just a robo verison of my brother, ya fake!" Gwen said, pointing at him.
"You'll be joining the rubble in the water soon enough." Shadow added.
"Nice one." Gwen chuckled as they leapt through some orange rings.
They jump on a ramp and grind rail then leap and attack the core with punches, kicks and slashes from Gwen. Soon got on the water and knock more debris into Metal Overlord. Then surfup a ramp and go though a rainbow ring.
"Tango!" Gwen yelled as they twirl each other around and start attacking him together.
He roared. "I'll skewer you!" he says shooting missiles at them.
Shadow drifts the missiles back at him then preforms chaos control.
"I already have that move." Metal Overlord chortled.
"Shut up!" Gwen shouted as they both attack him.
Soon he makes a water torando and tries to attack them, but they leap as Gwen lands on his back and starts slashing him a bunch of times before he knocks her off as Shadow catches her.
"Let's see how long you last on such unstable terrain." Metal Overlord said but Gwen makes a bunch of ice platforms as she leaps and slashes his core and leaps out of the way.
"Chaos Blast!" Shadow said, making an explosive wave and knocking Metal Overlord back.
"It's over!" Gwen shouted as she and Shadow drove a kick through him, causing an explosion.
Sonic surfboards though City Escape and smirks as he jumps off ramps then gets off and runs around performing homing attacks on G.U.N soldiers.
He then runs on the road as the G.U.N Truck chases him with buzzsaws.
"Buzzsaws?" Sonic thought. "This is even more crazier!"
Meanwhile, Classic Sonic spin dashes through Radical Highway after avoiding a bus from City Escape and bounces off G.U.N soldiers.
He bounces on platforms and then leaps on the ground and spin dashes around collecting rings. At one point, he had to jump on platforms and quickly because as the G.U.N truck was on his tail. Soon, Sonic ran out. Rouge was restored and flew up and around before landing.
"Thanks, Big Blue. That's the first time I've ever been stolen." Rouge said.
"You're a real gem, Rouge." Sonic said.
"So where's Shadow and Gwen?" Rouge asked.
"Not sure." Sonic said.
Meanwhile, Classic Gwen was walking around the White Space in a bit of a trance as she held her head, her quills turning black and her ruby was pulsing with Black Arms energy.
"What's happening?... Must destroy Shadow." she muttered and fell on her knees.
There was a clash that snapped her out of it. Afew clashes occured. Classic Gwen looks in the distance to see Classic Sonic fighting Classic Knuckles.
The two rivals spin dash into each other before bouncing back.
"Take this!" Classic Knuckles said,leaping towards the blue hedgehog and punching him square in the chest as he fell back.
Classic Sonic then speeds up behind the guardian and kicks him. They were about to continue when Classic Amy gets in the middle.
"Stop, you two!" she yelled. "Why are you fighting? Is this about Gwen?"
They nod in response, which Classic Amy facepalms at their stupidity. Classic Gwen groans at that and walks away unnoticed. They wouldn't understand. All this getting captured was so annoying. She clenches her fist as anger started to course through her veins.
Meanwhile, Shadow and Gwen walk out and spot Classic Gwen walking on her own in a trance with a black aura emitted out of her.
"Must destroy Shadow the Hedgehog.." she said in a monotone voice.
"Oh no... She's mind controlled!" Shadow said in realization.
Classic Gwen spin dashes towards them as they dodged.
"I can't risk hurting her or you both will die." Shadow said.
Gwen tries to resist the Black Doom influence as Classic Gwen tries slashing at Shadow with her katana, who claps it and tosses it away as she tries punching him but he uses chaos snap, appearing behind her and karate chopping her neck knocking her out.
"Gwen, control it." Shadow said, turning to her.
"I'm trying but... I think with each relic you activate, the more power he gains which means his mind control powers are getting stronger... I'm sorry, Shadow. I'm trying. But once we activate the fifth, I may have to fight you." Gwen said in sadness and frustration.
Shadow's eyes widen.
"So that's his plan. He wants you as a vessel and little you as a slave. I really feel sorry for you... How many plans have you been the center key of anyway?"
"A lot." Gwen sniffed. "It's so not fair.. I don't want to kill you."
Shadow hugs her with comfort.
he looks around " Where is that damm 4th relic?" Shadow asked.
Meanwhile...
"Tails, Knuckles, let's go through Seaside Hill together." Sonic said.
"Sure!" Tails nodded as Knuckles thinks for a moment and nods.
"Sure, why not?" Knuckles confirmed.
Classic Sonic looks at his Tails and Knuckles as they nod in agreement. Then, they rush through Seaside Hills. The Knuckles broke the boulders through their fists and the Tails flew them across the big gaps. They soon exit the place. Espio was brought back as he leaps up, looking around before landing.
"Because careful I've looked into the enemy's soul and only saw darkness. Where is Gwen?" Espio asked.
"Sure thing." Sonic said. "And still with Shadow, you, Knuckles and Mighty always fought over her." he continued, remembering the events of Knuckles, Chaotix, and Sonic the fighter.
"Oh, and I believe you might want to bring this little guy to her."
Espio removed something that's hiding behind his back to reveal...
"Kirby!" Sonic smiled.
"Pooteetah! Pooteetah!"
Kirby jumps off of Espio's hands and lands into Sonic's open arms.
"You doing okay, little bud?"
Kirby nodded with a hum before blowing rapsberry a bit.
"Alright. Hold tight."
The Sonics then went off to complete some challenge acts to unlock gate keys with Kirby holding on as he's hiding in Sonic's quills. Classic Sonic shrugged while running.
Meanwhile...
Classic Gwen groaned, looking up as Maria was checking on her.
"Are you okay?" Maria asked with concern.
"Yeah... What happened?" Classic Gwen asked.
"Shadow didn't say." Maria said, looking down when Shadow and Gwen walks up to them as they all looked up to see the Moon with eyes again.
"Shadow, are you in pain?" Maria asked, running over to the hedgehogs.
"No, I feel a connection to the symbol in the sky. It's the same tingle as my new abillties and the reason little Gwen got mind controlled." Shadow explained.
"It is the power of Black Doom." Gerald confirmed.
Everyone turned to him.
"Grandfather?" Maria asked.
"Okay, Old Robotink, spill." Classic Gwen said, putting her hands on her hips, tapping her foot.
"I made a Faustian deal with that monster to create Shadow. Now it seems we all have to pay for my sins." Gerald said in shame.
"Black Doom's your daddy? Why do I fall in love with foes that try to kill my brother?" Classic Gwen asked in surprise and annoyance.
"So my powers, Gwens' rubies, that symbol... they are allconnected?" Shadow asked.
"Yes. Those rubies are the reason Black Doom is getting to you two." Gerald said as the Gwens gasped in shock.
Classic Gwen looks down at her own ruby.
Maria was shown on a bed with tubesfrom 50 years ago.
"Maria's illness couldn't be treated on Earth. I could better manage her condition on the ARK, even if her family didn't like the idea..."
Then it shows Gerald looking at a baby biolizard.
"I attempted to develop the "ultimate lifeform" as a means to find a cure for Maria. My own experiments had reached their frustrating limits..."
The giant Biolizard breaks free from the capsule, sounding an alarm. Gerald can be seen talking to Black Doom with a capsule in front of him where Shadow was born.
"So when that alien warlord reached out to me and offered the miracle of Chaos Control, I accepted. Through his DNA, the ultimate lifeform was born."
"How'd you get from a lizard to a hedgehog? That makes no sense. I wonder what happened to the lizard?" Classic Gwen wondered, but Shadow gave her a be quiet look.
"Black Doom wanted me to make the perfect warrior for him, so these new abilities are all part of his grand design. You two are linked by blood. As you grow in power, so does he." Gerald says as Maria gasped in horror. "He will either take control of your mind and make you his ultimate weapon, or take over your body and be reborn in you. But I can see he has already been doing that to them." he continued, facing the Gwens with worry.
"And as they grow in power, we lose our minds..." Gwen said in realization.
"NO! I won't let myself get mind controlled again!" Classic Gwen shook her head. "We've saved the planet multiple times. We won't let some creepy alien kill our brothers."
"Right on." Gwen agreed.
Shadow lets out a dismissive grunt.
"You made me the ultimate lifeform, Professor. Black Doom is a fool. I'll take this power, and use it as my own." Shadow says.
"And commit genocide to a race." Classic Gwen added before the trio sped off.
"The question is: Will Shadow be willing to fight the ones he loves?" Gerald asked, watching them go with worry.
"No, they won't fight. The Gwens can fight his control. I believe in them." Maria said with hope.
Meanwhile...
Tails flew to Sonic and Kirby as they were about to fist bump, but Classic Sonic arrives with Classic Tails.
"Okay. So we're pretty sure we've figured things out and it's pretty awful." Tails started before the Time Eater few by.
"That thing keeps jumping back and forth through time. Consuming the dimensional energy and all that's left is this lifeless white void." Classic Tails said.
"The Sonics and Gwens are the two constants here. Their speed is restoring space-time." Tails added.
"Then we better run like there's no tommorow or there won't be a tommorow." Sonic said in determination, fist bumping his counterpart.
Kirby cheered.
Shadow approaches a relic in the White Space. It scans his body before absorbing aDoom Gearfrom him. The gear activates the relic, which shatters and unleashes Black Arms energy. Shadow ends up absorbing the energy and contorts in pain.
"No..." he groaned.
Shadow suddenly lets out a blood-curdling scream as his eyes go blank. What seems to be the tentacles of the Doom Morph emerge from the energy and wrap around him, sinking him into the energy. Before the tentacles wrap around his head, Shadow's pupils come back before he becomes the Doom Morph. He traverses across the Corruption and swings on a couple of Morph Balls.
They soon split up as Shadow and Gwen rush though Chaos Island in a third area while Classic Gwen goes though a second underground area.
"What is this place?" Shadow asked.
"Not sure." Gwen answered as they attacked some soldiers.
"It feels like a little girl and a knight is here." Gwen commented, looking around the area.
"Huh?" Shadow questioned in confusion.
Gwen shrugged as Shadow had to use his Doom Morph to get around. Meanwhile, Classic Gwen spin dashes around then leaps and slashes some soldiers.
"Yeah!" she cheered. "Here we go! Ice attack!" she said, but nothing happed.
"Shoot..." she pouted then used a flame shield then surfed on lava, dodging some obstacles and leaping over a ramp then goes in a pinball machine.
She cheered as she was launched around. Later, they skate out as Shadow sighed.
"Seriously, anyone else noticed a strange feeling?" Gwen asked as Shadow nodded in agreement.
Later, Shadow and Gwen jump across several platforms before landing on the ground and smiling at each other. They see City Escape as Gwen recognizes that area.
"City Escape! I remember this place it's where we got framed... and you kidnapped me." Gwen pointed out knowingly, looking at Shadow who became guilty.
"Gwen, I'm so-" Shadow started.
"I found you, Shadow!"
A familiar voice interrupts them as both Gwen and Shadow turns around to see...
"Sonic!" Gwen said with a smile.
"The blue hedgehog... of all places..." Shadow huffed.
Gwen then gasps to see Kirby on Sonic's shoulder, who smiles and waves at her.
"Kirby!"
Sonic runs up behind Shadow and hugs Gwen as Kirby hugs her as well after jumping off of Sonic.
"You have something sis and I need." Sonic said, holding out his hand.
Shadow begins walking away. Kirby tilted his head, still hugging Gwen.
"You can wait until my business is finished." he said, grabbing Gwen, who glared and knew where this was going.
"Boys..." she started to scold them, but suddenly felt weird as her eyes darkened.
"Yeah, sorry, but that Chaos Emerald and I have a date with a monster!" Sonic retorted.
"Well then, it'll be a date to die for." Shadow said.
A portal opens, and the two hedgehogs exchange competitive looks before jumping through it as Gwen speeds after them as Kirby holds onto her.
"Must destroy, Shadow..." she said in a monotone voice as Black Doom had mind controlled her.
"Pooteetah...?" Kirby questioned with worry at her sudden change of tone.
In a recreation ofShadow's rival fightfromSonic Generations, Shadow is shown grinding on a rail while Sonic runs towards him, activating his Boost in the process as Gwen roller skates on another as they all cross paths as Sonic smirks, not realizing Gwen's being mind controlled.
They jump, passing each other in front of the moon, striking a pose. Shadow and Gwen lands and speeds off, and Sonic gives chase. Soon, they are beside each other. Shadow attacks Sonic by bumping into him, managing to slow him down by shoving him with his body as Gwen was targeting Shadow, pulling out her sword. They run up a wall before Sonic tries toSpin Dashinto Shadow, who dodges. Sonic then uses what seems to be a single Reaction Plate to try and attack Shadow, who dodges the hedgehog again asGwen tries cutting them both with a sword, promoting the two hedgehogs to rush out of the way.
"Whoa! Careful, Gwen!" Sonic exclaimed in alarm, a bit worried.
Kirby gasps in shock at her action. Sonic finally gets ahead of him, causing Shadow to try and use his Doom Powers to attack Sonic. However, he hesitates and ceases his aim when Gwen suddenly skates up next to him and grabs his arm and raises her sword, ready to cut him, which Shadow notices her eye change in horror to realize she's mind controlled. He was going act before seeing a spinning Sonic successfully smack the two, knocking them down as Gwen groans in pain and Kirby bounces on the ground, looking dizzy. The Chaos Emerald also falls, which Sonic picks up and then carries Gwen. Kirby shakes his head and runs up to Sonic and jumps on his shoulder.
"Nice hustle, but I won this one, so I'm taking the emerald and my sister. See ya!" Sonic said beforedashing off as Shadow got up.
Rouge is flying by before she sees Shadow. She lands in front of him.
"I finally find you, and what do I see? Sonic defeating you? And taking away Gwen?What happened!?" she asked.
"I will beat him on equal terms or not at all." Shadow declared with his arms crossed.
"A fine time for you to be honorable. Now he has the Chaos Emerald." she said.
"No."
Shadowtakes out the real Emerald, which awes and surprises Rouge.
"He has afakeemerald."
A brief flashback is shown of Shadow holding both the real Chaos Emerald and the fake one while Gwen stood with him.
"I'll have you swap it for the real thing after I'm finished with my mission."
"Wow. Look at you! As a professional jewel thief, I approve!" Rouge smiled.
"What have you been doing?" Shadow asked.
A flashback shows Rouge tossing bombs at Classic Sonic, nearly killing him.
"Um... definitely not seducing robots?" she lied.
Shadow sighed and sat down.
"Maybe it's best that Gwen stays with the faker. This whole time she's been in worse danger and got mind controlled.."
Rouge's eyes widens for a moment before she calms down and sits down next to him.
"I knew something was up with that attack... I don't think Sonic knows... but Gwen loves you... Sure, Gwen will be safer with Sonic, but she's the one keeping you from breaking down..."she said, patting his shoulder.
"I need you to make a promise... Should I fail... protect Maria." Shadow said, surprising her.
Meanwhile...
Sonic and Gwen enter a boss gate.
"You doing okay?" Sonic asked, recalling her sudden attack as Gwen nodded.
"Yeah. I'm fine."
Kirby frowns at her, which she gives him an assuring smile. They arrive to see Perfect Chaos. Scared, Kirby immediately hides inside Gwen's quills.
"You've got to be kidding me." Sonic and Gwen deadpanned in unison.
"Think we can take him?" Sonic asked.
"Totally!" Gwen answered with a smirk as they boosted around some broken roads and entered as Perfect Chaos screamed.
They landed on a different part of the city, running and skating up platforms and dodging water tendrils then hit the head, whichPerfect Chaos screamed in pain.
Soon they boost across the water as the Chaos God sends tendrils at them as they dodged and boosted into him as Gwen freezes him, causing him to burst. They soon land and striked a pose, getting a S tier.
Tails walks with Classic Sonic, Tails and Gwen
"You brought back so much of this world." Classic Tails said with a smile.
They see restored Stage Entrances of Green Hill, Chemical Plant, Sky Sanctuary, Speed Highway, City Escape, and Seaside Hill. Sonic and Gwen along with Kirby walks out of the Boss Gate leading to Perfect Chaos and Classic Tails turns around to see him, giving him a high five.
"You're doing great, Sonic and Gwen!" Classic Tails complimented.
"You mean, Sonics and Gwens?" Tails asked.
"I may never get used to that." Classic Tails shook his head.
"Hey, you'll get it soon." Gwen assured.
"Proably not." Classic Gwen said honestly before looking at Kirby. "Also, who's that?"
"This is Kirby. My little alien companion. Kirby, meet the other me." Gwen introduced.
Kirby smiles and waves at Classic Gwen, who waves back.
"He's adorable." Classic Gwen cooed.
"What's with your fur? It's blue and red?" Tails asked, noticing their festures as Gwen and Classic Gwen look at each other.
"It's Black Doom. He wants us as his slaves." Gwen said grimly.
Kirby gasps in horror, covering his mouth.
"Pooteetah..."
"No way!" Sonic shook his head, crossing his arms as Classic Sonic mimic him.
"Not again!" Tails frowned.
"This happened before?" Classic Tails asked worriedly.
"Yeah. He mind controlled my sister a few times. The last one was when we all teamed up with Eggman ..." Sonic explained. "Yeah, I know we team up when there's a greater threat. Anyway, we all confronted him with Shadow, but something paryalzed us all. Then he took Gwen under his control and I had to watch Shadow fight Gwen. Though Knuckles says it was the best day of his life..." he mumbled the last part.
"Wait, what was that last part?" Gwen asked, but the ground rumbled as the Time Eater flew in and around, trying to grab an emerald that lost it's life but it didn't work so it flew away.
"Huh? It doesn't like the Chaos Emeralds? Why?" Classic Gwen questioned.
"The Chaos Emeralds' powers are miraculous. And we sure could use a miracle..." Tails said.
"We need that emerald." The Tails declared in unison.
"Good Luck. Me and little me gotta go find Shadow." Gwen said.
"No, it's too dangerous. We'll get the emeralds then confront Black Doom together."Sonic denied.
"No, you have a mission. Stopping the Time Eater. We'll deal with Black Doom." Gwen said firmly.
"Pooteetah!" Kirby agreed, saluting to Gwen that he's with her.
"You sure, bud? It's dangerous." Gwen asked, concerned.
Kirby nodded, knowing the risk and is willing to stay with her until the very end. She smiled and stroked his head.
"What your saying is... you wanna race to see who can deal with their mission first...? Your on!" Sonic said as he and Classic Sonic smirked and raced off, leaving the Gwens and Tails in the dust.
The Gwens chuckles and skates off with Kirby riding on Gwen's shoulder. The Tails smirk and sigh.
"I guess Sonic will never change?" Classic Tails asked.
"Most likely not." Tails nodded.
