Chapter Twelve – Infinite Possibilities
The three of them stood absolutely still and silent, behind the Sukko's cloak of Invisibility, as Eggman's search robots, tried find them. But the machines were ruthlessly, and began randomly firing live bullets, in all directions, and this unfortunately, included them.
The Sorcerer swore hard, as he didn't have a choice but to use Magic to save everyone. Sukko stood firm, as fifty bullets were fired. Mario and Luigi squealed, putting their hands over their ears, as the Blue Hedgehog let go of them. It was deafening. Tears fell down their faces as they looked up. But suddenly, Mario frowned. He could see the Sorcerer, completely in black, except for his back quills sticking out of his coat behind him. He didn't even flinch. He took an extremely deep breath and stood there, completely calm, but focusing extremely hard. In fact, he was scarily calm, and had just simply raised his hand. His fingers out spread, his arm straight, and emotionless look on his face, his eyes glowing a deep, vivid blue.
But Mario's frown deepened still further. He could see the bullets move through the air. How? It shouldn't have been possible. Then he realised, in absolute astonishment, that the reason why he could see them was because they were physically being slowed down. Within less then fifteen seconds, every single bullet had ground to a halt within a matter of inches of Sukko's hand. They hovered in mid-air all around him. Sukko then smirked, grabbing one of the bullet's, with his outstretched hand. He examined it, and then allowed it to drop to the ground. Mario and Luigi blinked.
Wow!
All this was still done entirely behind the Sorcerer's cloak of invisibility, as Sukko was backed up against the wall, the brothers still either side of him. The robots hadn't seen and had quickly moved off. After more then an hour, eventually they were alone. Immediately, cuddles exploded all around, as the brothers just jumped on the Sorcerer. Sukko giggled.
"Peek-a-boo." He smiled, but Mario, panted hard.
"Whoa, I barely recognised you." He gasped, but then he grinned. "Nicely done, with the bullets, by the way." He added, but Sukko just rolled his eyes, as he panted hard.
"Thank you. Sonikku can dodge them, but the full telekinetic stop is mine. As for the all black outfit. Well, yeah, it's, kind of, the point." He hissed. "You do know, who I look like, right?" He grinned. "Though technically I am him, sharing ninety-nine, point nine percent of his D.N.A.." He shrugged. "But I could create a disguise, with my abilities, but they are very draining to maintain, so I only save those for daylight missions, as and when I get them, which truthfully, thanks to Sonikku, isn't often. In the darkness, I just don't bother." He added, again careful not to say the word 'Magic'. Suddenly, there was a noise behind them, as the Sorcerer growled. He held out his hands, for the brothers. He growled, suspecting the search robots were on their way back. "We have to leave, now. Do you trust me?" He asked. Both the brothers looked at each other, as Sukko, dancing slightly from side-to-side, waggled his hands at them. Mario giggled, and rolled his eyes, taking a hand and indicating that Luigi to do the same. Smirking hard, Sukko grinned. "Whatever you do, don't scream." He asked.
Throughly confused, the brothers looked at each other, as suddenly, the world around them disintegrated, literally. Suddenly hundreds of bright white Orbs swirled, Sukko then proceeded to Orb teleport the both of them, including himself straight to the city, half a planet away. Within seconds, they landed in the roof-top Penthouse of a skyscraper where they were immediately greeted by someone. Manic had been waiting for them. It was also morning in Robotropolis, but as dawn was raising here, dusk had landed back in Empire City. A twelve hour time difference. Both Mario and Luigi were grounded, completely winded for their first Orb. They had gone from seeing the sun down in one city, to it raising in another, in a matter of seconds. It was very surreal. But Manic grinned.
"Hey, you got them." He smiled. Sukko smirked, rather tired.
"Yeah. It wasn't easy." He leered. But Manic giggled, rounding on Sukko.
"When you said 'miniature Humans', you weren't kidding." He sniggered, absolutely fascinated by Mario and Luigi. "At least, their not the six foot five monstrosity, that Eggman is." He added. The brothers looked at the massive Hedgehog, who stood head and shoulders taller then both of them.
Manic was a Green-furred Hedgehog whose quills are a lot shaggier than the twins, in stiff dreadlocks. He wore a brown vest, red and white shoes, black spiked wristbands and an orange small hip bag, which he fitted anything and everything in. From his drumsticks to his lock picks and to whatever he'd stolen. He had big blue eyes, and his left ear was pierced with two small gold loop earrings in a 'punk' style. There was also something else about this Hedgehog that really showed. His size. He stood a good three inches taller then the twins, who were both the same height, not including of his dreadlocks spines. The very top of those, which stuck out high above his head, now reached the same height as a Crocodile. The dreadlocks made appear taller then he actually was, but he was genuinely bigger then the average Hedgehog. He'd grown, a lot, becoming very muscular. Suddenly, he whirled around on Sukko, who taken off his hat, and thrown it to the side, undone his coat, and pulled his long blue quills out of it. He heaved, pointing at the computer in the lounge.
"Hey, Bro's been calling for you on that." He stammered. Immediately, Sukko ran for the console, and was all over rapidly typing.
"Yes, I know." He hissed, having been hearing him down the Psychic Link, and immediately spoke into the machine. "Sonikku, I've got them. They're alright." He reported. Suddenly, Sonic's voice rang out from the computer's speakers, as it converted the Psychic Link into audio, and all voice speech back, so Sonic could hear anyone at the Penthouse, in his mind, not just his twin. No one in the Resistance knew that the Blue Blur had a direct telepathic line to the Penthouse and his family. He spoke to them, very much, on the quiet. He sighed with relief.
"Oh, thank Chaos. I'm glad to hear that you guys are alright. Look, a gotta go, the Resistance is about to head out, after Infinite." He heaved, signing off. As wonderful as it was to hear the Blue Blur's voice again, Mario and Luigi just stared at the computer, and then around the Penthouse's lounge, of which their jaws just dropped. It was incredible but as Mario and Luigi got to their feet, and were immediately welcomed into the family. They spoke to Sonic through the computer. The Blue Blur was fine, both tired and busy. It took the brothers several days to settle in, until Knuckles finally asked after them, eventually remembering. He apologised for forgetting, but it was fine. There was a war on. But the Sorcerer was constantly on his enormous computer console, scowling the entire war, digitally, looking for anything that could give the Resistance an advantage. But Mario frowned as he looked between Sukko and Manic. Definitely related to the Blue Blur. A younger brother? They vaguely remembered being told that, back in Tokyo. But he frowned.
"You have such raw power, why not fight directly." He wondered. But Manic giggled, shaking his head.
"Hell, no. We're the cavalry." He grinned. But Luigi frowned.
"What do you mean?" He wondered, but Sukko swung around on his computer stool and faced them. He heaved.
"One word. Magic." He sighed. "It's highly illegal here, and if I take on Eggman directly, like I did Bowser, the entire world would see. Then me and my entire family, including Sonikku, and even Manic here, would all be put to death, just for me simply using the superpowers I was born with. Being the heroes would literally count for nothing. It's not fair." He heaved. "But it doesn't stop me from casting, hence the King of Stealth, as you saw." He nodded, looking at Mario and Luigi. "As no one knows I'm doing it, but I'm only willing to go all out, here on Mobius, if, and only if, Sonikku fails." He added. But Manic nodded.
"Yeah but I don't have Magic. I'm Chi. An Earth Bender. I could fight on the front line, but truthfully, I just don't want too. I'm a deadly defender, not a fighter, and my job is to keep this safe-haven free from that tyrant. It's a lifeline for thousands of people who've fled the war, and to the Resistance when they want to keep someone safe. Attacking isn't really my thing, and taking the attention away from Bro, on the front line, when he's the driving force behind the Resistance, isn't a good idea. But like Bro said." He paused, indicating Sukko. "If push came to serious shove, and the Blue Blur was to fall, then yes, I'll be there." He added, incredibly proud. "Me and Sukko, between us, can completely take Eggman out. No matter what. We both have the power to outright destroy him, to make this planet permanently free of him, but it will literally cost us everything. Our family wouldn't survive the backlash. We'd all be killed, by either the Mobian Authorities or by frightened mobs of people. The fear of Magic runs that deep, as well as Chi not being that well known. But that's the price tag, I guess." He heaved. But Sukko, sniffed, leaning his head on his hands, as tears came down his face.
"Let's hope it doesn't come to that, especially for the children's sake." He whimpered, desperately thinking about them. But Mario blinked, as Luigi gasped.
"Wait, kids?" He stammered, but as Manic grabbed the Sorcerer and cuddled him, Mario finally saw the truth in his eyes. He gulped, pointing at Sukko.
"You've got children. Your a Dad?" He stammered, of which the Sorcerer nodded. "Yes, but their mother is no longer with us. Terminal illness, nothing to do with the war. Now, myself, Stripes, Manic and Sonikku raise them together." He smiled, but Luigi frowned.
"How many?" He wondered, but Sukko beamed.
"Four." He grinned, proudly. "One boy, three girls. But they are in deep hiding, for the moment, so no show, I'm afraid." He growled, rounding on the brothers, but then he heaved. "Regardless, your now safe." He nodded. "But your free to explore Robotropolis, but don't leave the city, we can't protect you out there, beyond the walls." He informed, of which both Manic and Luigi nodded, but then Sukko indicated around the apartment. "This is my Penthouse Suite, at the top of the Rochester, the highest skyscraper in the city. You'll be staying here, and Manic will send word around the city that your different Humans to Eggman, from an alternative version of Earth, 'not' out to destroy Mobius. You shouldn't find any problems." He added. But then he looked at the of windows, out onto the great city. He sighed. "The war gets closer everyday. What if the Resistance falls?" He wondered, but Manic just held the Sorcerer close. Finally, everything made sense, as the colour just drained from both the Plumbers. Just how dire the situation really was. That innocent lives really were at stake. The Earth Bender sighed and deeply, to his sibling.
"Hey, Bro, they won't. If anyone can defeat that filthy Eggman, and win this war, then Sonic can." He nodded, but Sukko heaved and hard, as he looked tired and worn out.
"I hope your right."
Over the next several weeks, Mario and Luigi throughly enjoyed exploring the city. It was so similar to some of the cities from their version of Earth, and after the locals finally got used to them, they were bombarded with questions. People intensely curious, as to where they were from and how they knew Sonic. It was nice, the shopping incredible, but ultimately, they were in the middle of a world war, and it really showed. Everyone was desperate and needed help, with more refugees arriving into Robotropolis, by the day, so Mario and Luigi decided to help out, as and where they could. The entire city responded in kind, welcoming them as family. The Blue Blur's own kin were here, them having major influence and it really showed,
Suddenly, the entire city shook, as massive robots could be seen outside the city walls, heading straight towards them. Quickly, everyone headed to the Penthouse. Manic swore, running for the windows, of the apartment, looking out of them.
"Oh crud, I gotta go." He blasted and turning around, he ran for the front door, but Sukko stopped him, opening the window with the Telekinesis. He growled.
"Manic, out the front." He advised, as his brother, didn't even think twice, and dived for the open window, and down the side of the skyscraper. Mario and Luigi watched the incredible Green Hedgehog, did a somersault in mid-air, and land perfectly on his feet, making the entire ground shake, and then sped through the city and out, extremely fast, towards the oncoming robots. Luigi gulped.
"Whoa!" He heaved, looking at Mario. Suddenly Sonic's voice rang out from the console's speakers again. He frowned.
"Was that robots attacking Robotropolis again?" He hissed, overhearing the commotion. Sukko nodded.
"Yeah, Manic's just about keeping them at bay." He spat, but Sonic growled.
"Well, we're doing our best, and thanks to you, Sukko, the major players are now back on the field. Myself, Shadow, this amazing new Rookie, and even Tails showed, which was awesome, with 'mini me', my alternative version from another dimension, in my past. I have no idea where he came from, but I don't care, because now, we've actually making some headway. We have successfully pushed against Eggman, and are beginning to take back the planet. We've already taken half of it. But Infinite is being an absolute pain. We're chased him through Chemical Plant, Arsenal Pyramid, Lost Valley, Ghost Town and then back to Metropolis again. That damn Jackal just will not go down." He hissed. "I've battled him twice, beaten him twice, but he still keeps coming back for more. It's that Phantom Ruby of his. It twists and warps reality, so badly, it makes fighting him insanely difficult. The guys are working, around the clock, on taking out the Phantom Ruby's power source. They thought it was the Death Egg, so we blew it up, but it wasn't that, and now Tails thinks it might be in Metropolis, hence why were back in the city again. The Rookie had found some kind of Phantom Ruby Prototype, but I'm sure how that's going to help. But battling Infinite again, I need someone or something to heavily shake him up mentally, outside of the Phantom Ruby, so he can be distracted enough, so I can permanently take him out." He growled. Sukko smirked, sniggering hard.
"I can do that." He hissed, but the Blue Blur sighed and hard.
"I had a feeling, you'd say that. I know your Magic is immune to the Phantom Ruby's power." He sniffed. "I also know that this is a big ask, but please, this is a last resort. I don't need you to fight him directly, but to use your exquisite skills in covertness, to screw his mind over, so when I battle him, I actually have a chance." He begged. Immediately, Sukko's smirk broadened, and without a moment's thought, he exploded into hundreds of bright white orbs, ascending upwards, as he teleported away. Immediately, Mario and Luigi ran for the computer. Mario panted hard.
"Sonic, is that wise? What if Sukko is found out?" He stammered. But the Blue Blur just intensely giggled. He responded through his mind.
"Trust me, he won't be. This isn't a full on battle anyway." He grinned. "Look, watch the monitors." He suggested, knowing about the computer. "I'll ask Sukko to sneakily use his Magic, to send you a live feed. You are about to get a master class in stealth."
Sukko, with his powerful telepathy quickly found Infinite, and with the fact that he was still heavily hunting down his twin, Sukko decided to lay a trap for the Jackal. He had black fur, with a white fur pattern on his back that resembles a ribcage, a bushy tail with five white tips, and long, white and stiff dreadlocks. His muzzle was white and protruding with cheek tufts, and he had a black nose and noticeable fangs. He had complete heterochromia, with his right eye being blue and his left eye being yellow. There was a large white scar across the right eye. He wore a white collar around his neck and black gloves with silver designs on the backs, covering his sharp claws. He also wore pointed, metal and black boots, with his personal infinity symbol engraved on the red soles.
He wore a silver-coloured metal mask with white and black circular patterns on the inside of the ears, with the right ear being black with white circular patterns and the left being white with black circular patterns. While his left eye was visible through a red visor, his right eye was covered by a black lightning bolt-shaped piece, similar to an eyepatch, that is connected to his mask's right ear, which glows red when he uses his power. The final version of the Phantom Ruby was fused to his chest. When Infinite channels the power of the gemstone, he can surround himself in a red aura, with particles that resemble forms of pixelated glitching scattered throughout his body. Virtual Reality.
Infinite had disbanded everyone, defeating every powerful Chaos Creature going, including Sonic, back at the beginning. So with the Blue Blur's brother now on the field, they knew it was simply a matter of time before Infinite showed up. But Sukko was a expert at acting the fool, making sure he was severely underestimated, as he masqueraded as it twin, using pure illusions, to make sure he reeled the Jackal in.
It worked as Infinite came charging down towards him, as suddenly, the 'Blue Blur' vanished. He growled.
"Hey, get back here, you coward, and fight me." He blasted to no one. But the Sorcerer smirked, silently hiding behind his cloak of Invisibility, as he lured to Jackal to an unused derelict site, near Metropolis. Sukko the was stood opposite him, Infinite having no idea he was even there. But before the Jackal got bored and moved off, Sukko sneakingly got his attention his attention, by using his Telekinesis, behind his cloak, and invisible and rather painfully flicked his left ear. He whirled around growling.
Nothing.
Sukko moved around him again, and then, suddenly, silently flicked the other ear. He suddenly, roared with pure temper.
"Show yourself, coward." He grilled, rather stupidly, having no idea who was taunting him. But Sukko just sniggered. Er, no. Gotcha, as Infinite had fallen for the bait, and as Sukko moved around him, yet again, unseen, he flicked his ear a third time, the Jackal completely lost it. Getting frustrated, Infinite activated his Virtual Reality from the Phantom Ruby, and the bright red illusion went straight for Sukko. But the Sorcerer had seen it coming, and activating extremely powerful Magic, he disabled it, with a simple snap of the finger, which caused an almighty bang, causing the red imagery to vanish. Infinite gasped, and with the lull of astonishment, Sukko, still invisible, with one very fast, swift move, activating his lightning and took temporally took out the Phantom Ruby with one enormous bolt, and knocking out Infinite. Revealing himself, he ran in and quickly examined the Ruby. He couldn't destroy it, it was too strong, but he was able to use his Magic and reverse hack it, finding it's real power source. A very specific, skyscraper in Metropolis, not the Death Egg.
Suddenly, Sukko vanished again, as Infinite awoke. Behind his cloak of invisibility, Sukko telepathically manipulated Infinite's mind, as he rather shakily got to his feet. Time for Sukko to play with illusions of his own. The Sorcerer projected fake images into Infinite's mind, bypassing the Ruby's power. Infinite suddenly saw he was surrounded by the bodies of his friends. The Jackal Squad Mercenary Group, lying on a battlefield, broken Badniks everywhere. Suddenly, one of his friends grabbed, and pointed at the destroyed Boss robot ahead, and straight at the logo. He growled.
"Eggman!" He hissed, before dying. Believing the images, Infinite roared with anger. He'd been lied to. Eggman had murdered his friends, not Shadow. Suddenly, he flies off and leaves, charging at the Human, completely forgetting about the encounter. Sukko smirked hard, as he returned to the Penthouse, orbing straight back, to astonished look on Mario and Luigi's faces. He giggled, as he rounded on the computer console, rapidly typing. He spoke clearly to the machine.
"I got him, Sonikku. He should be good now for your to take down, but make it soon, within the next few hours." He reported. Suddenly, cheering was sounded from the console. The Blue Blur grinned.
"Yes, Sukko. Thank you. I knew you were good." He praised before rapidly disappearing, signing off. Suddenly, the Sorcerer began further typing on the computer. Mario frowned.
"What are you doing?" He wondered. But the Sorcerer smiled.
"Telling the Resistance of my findings. In my encounter with Infinite, I was able to deduce where the real power source of the Phantom Ruby was." He reported. But Luigi frowned.
"And then what?" He frowned, but the Sorcerer just heaved.
"Now we wait, for Sonikku to finish the job. I think he and the Resistance will have all the information they need to win this. I'm setting up a live feed now." He added, as all watched the events play out, on the monitors.
That was indeed the case. The following morning and after being severely disorientated by Sukko, Sonic was able to catch Infinite completely off guard, and successfully, and permanently take him down. He was finally out of the fight. Now it was just Eggman. The Resistance had significantly increased it's numbers, mainly because of the return of the Blue Blur himself, and the run of successes it had been getting against the Human. They had completely pushed him back, now claiming almost the entire planet, now forcing Eggman to make one last stand, at the Iron Fortress.
Soon on the open plains nearly, the Resistance made it's stand against the Human. Everyone was there, and as for Sonic, he growled. His brothers weren't there, but he had them on standby, just in case, if this went horribly wrong. Never had Eggman come so close to winning, and never had he looked so desperate when finally cornered. This fight literally could go either way, and the Blue Blur didn't want to take his chances. The planet was not a prize to be won or lost, and if he had sacrifice his own family, including himself, to guarantee it's safety, then so be it.
Sonic charged at him, along with his younger self, and the Rookie, they took on the Human's final boss Robot, the Death Egg Robot. It took the teamwork of the three of them, over multiple stages to destroy the machine. But as they landed, they realised it wasn't over yet.
As a gorilla band of fighters, tracked down the Phantom Ruby's real source of power, and destroy it, the Resistance charged at Eggman. But the Virtual Reality from the Phantom Ruby, and the bright red illusions, which the Human also controlled caused havoc, and soon the fight was not going the Resistance's way. Suddenly, the Human manipulated the Ruby so hard, that he generated an illusion so real, it could potentially kill, as he literally now had the sun, now falling on everyone.
Panicking hard, and desperately out of his depth, Sonic came incredibly close to making the call, when the Rookie, out of nowhere, used a rope line, and charged up towards the 'fake' sun. Using the Prototype Phantom Ruby he'd found, he cancelled out the illusion and permanently vanished it, to extensive cheering. Suddenly, an almighty explosion the distance, as the power behind the Phantom Ruby was down, and finally, Eggman was done for.
Everyone cheered. Yes, they had won. Sonic heaved and hard. He had done it. He'd beaten Eggman and kept is family safe and still no one knew about Sukko's Magic. It was an incredible achievement. Unfortunately, the Human just vanished, but the Blue Blur didn't care, as the victory party at the Resistance just exploded. But the Blue Blur didn't stick around as he, and a certain Ultimate Lifeform, were both extremely keen to get back to the Penthouse, and to someone extremely special there, to the both of them, whom made the victory possible.
Sukko.
Leaving separately, as to not to draw suspicion, both the speedsters landed on the Penthouse at the same time, after a long run, and jumped in the Sorcerer, as though their lives depended on it. Sukko intensely cuddled his twin, and deeply kissed his husband. The three way embrace seemed to last forever, as Shadow realised he just couldn't drive a wedge between the twins, nor did he want too. Sonic and Sukko were just too close, but if he worked with the Blue Blur, whom, during the war, proved he wasn't actually that bad, then the Sorcerer would just follow, and then be his for the taking.
But Sukko had desperately missed them both, the world war having been long and hard. But they'd done it, Mobius was safe, and even through they suspected Eggman would be back, the chances of him gaining that much traction again was zero, as contingency plans were being put on place to avoid it. Shadow made certain of it. There were a lot of lessons to be learnt from this.
As Sukko and Shadow were left alone, for a while, Sonic took Mario and Luigi, and made arrangements for them to meet the rest of his family. They squealed with pure delight.
"The children?" They said together as Sonic nodded.
"Yes, now that the war's over, it's safe, certainly for a short visit." He smiled. The Blue Blur, took the Plumbers around the corner, to a nearby park, where Manic was standing, surrounded by kids. Hedgehog kids. He immediately spotted Mario and Luigi and called them over, as all four of the children were introduced.
Max, Sapphire, Jade and Crystal.
They were utterly beautiful, and absolutely all over their Uncle Sonic. But the visit was fleeting, as soon it was time to go home, as Mario rounded on the Blue Blur.
"You know, your entire family have a home in the Mushroom Kingdom, if you need it." He heaved. "I doubt Princess Peach would object." He added, utterly believing that, as did the Blue Blur, who nodded, extremely humble.
"Thank you, seriously." He heaved. "But right now, no." He admitted, to the rather disheartened Plumbers, but Sonic grinned. "However, if push came to serious shove, and we needed a place to run to, then yes. But Mobius is our home, we were all born here, our entire heritage is here. I know having Magic isn't easy, but that is nothing new for us. Chaos Sorcery had been in my family for generations, down my mother's line, and it's been banned equally as long, and we've never been caught. It runs in the blood. We'll be fine." He added, as Mario and Luigi agreed with him.
After the spectacular display Sukko did, during the war, they easily believed that. Soon, it was time to go home, for the Plumbers. Unfortunately, contacting Tails or Knuckles, as well as any other members of the Resistance, wasn't possible. After the victory party, everyone just scattered and going their separate ways, as the clean up began. Tracking them down was going to be difficult.
But just before then left, Sukko, rather mysteriously, took the brothers alone, outside, to the park. It was getting late, as the sun went down, on the beautiful summer's evening. The Sorcerer long quills and black coat, gently flapped in the wind, as he looked at both of them. Mario frowned.
"Why are we here?" He wondered, as Luigi just frowned. But Sukko just smirked.
"Well, you see. I'm telepathic and nothing hides from me, especially your fascination of my ability to fly. I know you haven't said anything, but with me, you don't need to. I know everyone wants to know what it feels like. Super-Flight is the rarest of all Chaos Powers. Not the hover with Psychokinesis that Silver can do, but true flight. Only one person, in living memory, was ever known to have had it and that was Jules Hedgehog himself, our father. Now through inheritance, it had been passed down to me." He grinned, as he held out his hands, and offered one each to the brothers, both of whom exploded in delight. But Sukko just heaved. "Just don't tell anyone. I'm 'not' giving away free rides alright." He added.
But Sukko, ever the trickster, and without warning, suddenly grabbed them both and with his eyes glowing, he surged the Chaos Power through them. Out of nowhere, they took off from the ground, their feet being lifted clean from it. Both Mario and Luigi squealed in fright, then in utter fascination, when they realised what the mighty Sorcerer was doing. Flying, he was sharing it with them, as he just lifted his own feet of the ground, crossed them out in front of him, perfectly hovering, as easy as anything, as though sitting in an invisible lounge chair. The feeling was utterly incredible, and unlike anything they had done before.
It was amazing, but Mario just raised an eyebrow, as he looked up to the sky. He frowned.
"Oh, come on, Sukko. Your a Blue Hedgehog, you can do better then that." He hissed, indicating high above them, hinting at his incredible heritage. As the sun finally went down, and full darkness came, the Sorcerer suddenly, grabbed both the Plumbers, under his arms and soared skywards. He giggled.
"Challenge accepted." He grinned, flying Mario and Luigi anywhere and everywhere. Above the clouds, around the Great Savannah, through the landscape. The flight didn't go global. They stayed local. Sukko didn't break the sound barrier, but it was fast regardless, though it was very clear he could. Mario heaved. Under the enormous secrecy, that Sukko was forced to live with, he wasn't surprised that stayed under the cover of darkness. It just wasn't fair. The Sorcerer should have been allowed as much freedom as his twin, but with the current rules of Mobius, as they landed in the park again, and then three of them hugged it out, both Mario and Luigi realised that was never going to happen. But as they began to walk back to the Penthouse, one final farewell to Robotropolis, Luigi heaved, and hard.
"It's a pity, there isn't a place where you can truly be yourself." He wondered, but Sukko intensely giggled.
"What? Randomly land in the Mushroom Kingdom, and cause total havoc." He shrugged. But Mario growled, rounding on the Sorcerer.
"Well, yeah, why not. You deserve better then what Mobius offers you." He spat. Luigi intensely nodded, but Sukko just heaved, somewhat honoured they thought that.
"It's not that easy." He began but got immediately cut across by Mario, as he hissed, and hard.
"Now that's bull, and you know it. I overheard your brothers talking. You can travel inter-dimensionally, and intergalactically, literally anywhere. Your a Sorcerer." He blasted, and then Luigi nodded.
"And if things get too much here again, and you need a breather, you come find us, alright. We both know you can't stay. Your a father, and have a family, but if if you need anything, just ask." He added, which caused the Sorcerer to gulp, very humble, and almost cry. Finally, he stared at them, and nodded.
"Thank you." He sniffed. But suddenly, he stopped, and in a secluded spot, the Sorcerer and snapping his fingers, a ball of white light, of pure Telepathy appeared in it to the utter fascination of the brothers. He then looked at the Plumbers, offering them the ball. "Call me." He added. "Please touch the ball. It's a powerful telepathic tracker, so I can hear you, from anywhere. Trust me, it's doesn't hurt." He giggled. Mario and Luigi both looked deeply at the powerful Sorcerer, the mighty brother of the Hero of Mobius. It was true. He really was Sonic, the same generosity was there. So how could they refuse, an opportunity to learn from the master. Nervously, they both touched the ball, as suddenly, their eyes glowing blue temporally as the Magic took hold and then set in place. They were left heaving, as they realised, they had just experienced a small snapshot of what the extremely powerful Sorcerer could really do.
With a simply flick of his hand, the ball of Magic dissipated and Sukko, nodding, turned to leave. Mario and Luigi just looked at each other, and ran after him, but all too quickly, they were back at the Penthouse. Sonic and Shadow were already there waiting for them. Now it was time to go home, as suddenly, the Plumbers looked incredibly disheartened. But Sukko smirked.
"Oh, don't worry, you'll be back, I'm sure. Just not when there's another war on, ok." He grinned "You'll have quite the tale to tell them, when you get back there." He sniggered, stating the obvious. But Mario groaned, rolling his eyes at the Sorcerer, as he shrugged. "What?" He grinned, sarcastically. But the Plumber just heaved, smiling hard.
"Don't change." He praised as both Sonic and Shadow, who had come to wave them off, just grinned behind them, Shadow smirking hard. But the Blue Blur giggled.
"He won't, Mario, I'll make sure of it." He grinned and as Sukko exploded the electronic, magically driven, black and blue inter-dimensional portal, from the computer console, it really was time to leave. With hugs all around from everyone, Mario and Luigi returned home, to a hero's welcome. But the brothers just looked at one another, there was nothing heroic about that they had just experienced, as the full horror of the war finally set in, for the pair, as they relaxed. They both had nightmares.
They didn't tell everyone about what they had witnessed, but they did tell Peach and Captain Toad, who were both horrified and relieved that the war had been won. The Princess immediately agreed that if twins and their family, needed a place to stay, the Mushroom Kingdom, was indeed a safe-haven for them. But as Mario and Luigi just looked at each other, one thing was definitely certain.
Both of those twin Blue Hedgehogs were just incredible, but getting rid of that Sorcerer, wasn't easy, as Mario opened a massive can of worms, with his offer. Sukko did indeed land on them, quite often, for short, regular visits, and caused utter chaos, mainly by jump-scaring everyone with his stealth tactics. It eventually drove the Plumber mad, but the Princess, just intensely giggled, as yet more of the Sorcerer's powerful bright blue Magic, flew around her kingdom, she just wouldn't have had it any other way.
Sukko later found other kingdoms, around the cosmos, whom also allowed Magic. Where it was legal to freely cast, such as the Sol Empire, and it's Princess, Blaze. The Sorcerer would regularly travel between them all, relishing the freedom it gave him, but it just proved how incredibly narrow minded to Sorcery, Chaos or otherwise, Mobius really was.
